I’ve been a Lifetime member since 2019 at the Houston location. I recently moved to Utah and started using the Utah clubs, but I keep my Houston membership active since I go back and forth. That also means I’m paying about $100 more than I would if I switched fully to a Utah membership.
My biggest issue is the workout class schedule here. There are barely any classes compared to Houston or other major locations. The times are honestly strange too. A 5:15 pm class is right when traffic turns a 15 minute drive into nearly an hour. And that 9:15 am slot… why not 9:30 when most people are finishing school drop off? I’ve heard a lot of members saying the same thing.
The main point isn’t even the specific times. There just aren’t enough classes in general. People have different schedules, and part of what we pay for at Lifetime is the variety and frequency of high quality classes. That’s literally what sets Lifetime apart from other gyms. Right now it’s giving “nicer YMCA” vibes with how limited the schedule is.
I love the facility and the gym itself, even though it gets busy, but the class availability is a big part of why I’ve stayed with Lifetime for so long. Houston and other locations offer multiple barre classes a day. With how many members are here in Utah, it feels like there should be more offerings.

Very unfriendly place. Don’t bring kids and for heaven sake don’t sit on their chairs if you’re not a member, they will ask you to move. Rules and policies seem to get in the way of good customer service and making people feel welcome.

We finally got a cold plunge pool.
Took 5 years of asking for it.
Now, if only members practiced etiquette and awareness of others we would have a perfect gym.

I had a pass to Life Time for years. My son even learned to swim here. The past several months my experiences at the gym have been very disappointing. A couple months ago I sent an email with my concerns and never received a response. So a month later I canceled my membership - with a one month notice. I received an email asking why I wanted to cancel - I responded and never received a response or an offer to come back. Disappointing that they made absolutely no effort to retain a long term guest.

I was a member for 10 years. Then LT notified me that they are raising my membership by $80 additional dollars per month. Then proceeded to tell me I was getting a good deal. In the 10 years I was there staff is very unhelpful, snobby and rude.

The childcare is amazing but they don’t offer any nonheated yoga classes during the childcare hours. Many fitness classes are also actively heated. It’s the strangest most unpleasant thing. I haven’t been a member long and I am considering canceling my membership since I cannot safely attend their fitness classes due to the wild added heat.
Why would they be so family friendly… yet not offer any services accommodating pregnant woman? They have 1 non- Heated yoga class a week … which is not why I pay $200 a month.

Very disappointed! We visited this pool several times with our 8-year-old child. The name and advertising make it seem like a family-friendly place, but in reality it’s not. For kids, there are endless restrictions and absolutely no conditions for comfort. We expected a true family pool, but instead got a list of rules and a ruined day.

This Life Time location (10996 S River Front Pkwy, South Jordan, UT) in the USA is the worst. It's super dirty, the rules are ridiculous, and it's extremely expensive. This summer, they don't accept guests on weekends. The reception staff's attitude is also off-putting. In contrast, my experiences at Life Time locations in Colorado and Texas were wonderful.

Watch out for the employees they like to keep everything they find… and they don’t even like checking on the lose and found. You literally have to fight with them in order to go look for your personal belongings. What an ugly service and people. After 30 min of alaigjnto please go check the lose and found they finally decided to do and found my stuff!

I can’t say enough great things about this place! From the moment we joined, the staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful, without any pushiness (a rare find in the fitness world!). My family and I have become more active than ever, and we’re spending so much quality time together thanks to all the amazing amenities.
The club is always clean, well-maintained, and constantly improving… It’s clear they take pride in their facility.
I have a few personal favorites: The early morning Alpha Strength class. It’s kicking my butt (in the best way). The outdoor pool is the BEST anywhere in Utah. We can’t wait to use the indoor pool in the winter. Lastly, our kids, ages 8 and 11, are obsessed with Pickleball Parents Night Out. They actually want to go because it’s so fun and engaging for them.
Safe to say we love this place and visit almost every day! Sometimes twice a day.

Before I went to the Lifetime fitness Gym to inquire about a membership. I read all of the reviews. Taking the good with the bad, I decided to swing by and look it over and see the facility for myself.
First let me say it is a very nice facility. I was given a tour (around 4PM) by Jeremy B. he was professional and mindful of my schedule and respected my timeline. I let him know I was looking at a variety of clubs and what my expectations were. He asked questions based on what was important to me and my goals. I expressed my interest in swimming laps and my concern about pool time (there are reviews that comment that lane availability is an issue) and Jeremy assured me that it would not be a problem to meet my expectations.
As a former sales person, I watch for the pitch, the training lingo to draw us in and make us feel like the sales person is doing "us" a favor or get it now (the call to action.) I do not want to be sold; I want to be informed. Jeremy did not "sell" me, he informed me. He did not lean on me to hurry and sign... yet he did make very solid and distinctive points regarding his product and the cliental. He informed me of the busy times and what to expect. He informed me of the clubs expectation of everyone that works at the facility. He let me know what my financial commitment would be and my options if I was not satisfied (14 days for a full refund) and 30 day notice to cancel my membership (example give notice 14 Aug - contract ends 14 Sep and pro-rated.) I had a positive experience and would highly recommend taking a tour of the facility and make a decision based on your own experience. I am looking at a few more clubs and will make my decision. I will update this review.
Update 01JUN14 - well after 1 week of working out at various times of the day (to see how busy it is and the availability of equipment) and meeting staff and members, I decided to join. I spoke with a variety of people and every person loved their Life Time Fitness Club. If someone was on a particular piece of equipment they would offer to let me work in. The staff is very accommodating, example a gentleman named Will, offered to look up the closing time for Scheels so I would not waste a trip to the store if they were closed. Jeremy was cool and greeted me and made sure to answer any questions I had. Dan, the manager made sure I had all my questions answered and made himself available if I had future questions.
Last point.. I really like the vibe of the club, there are some incredibly fit individuals there and others just starting their journey of a changed and better self. Some people stay to themselves (which is cool) others are happy to reciprocate a conversation.
It is like anything in life.. you will get out of it what you put into it. See for yourself......

Yesterday I was there with a friend, and they didn't let us in because they now don't allow guests on weekends! There was almost no one in the gym and pool and the people at the reception treated us very disrespectfully and were rude and arrogant towards us. This gym is not worth the money and I won't go there again and I don't recommend it to anyone.

If you’re a water workout person, please be advised that there are no water aerobics offered. In the summer the outdoor pool takes priority. If you need the indoor pool for kids, please know they may have it closed down. They just don’t have the staff to always have it open. It’s really frustrating, and I hope that new management will take the pools seriously. The pool workout equipment is very old and falling apart. The pools are seen as an amenity, not a necessity. I feel that upper management has a very narrow minded view of who they want their clientele to be. It’s not inclusive. However, the staff members in the thick of it, so to speak, are amazing. Cyd, Miha, Marshal, Lisa, etc are great people and they truly care. That’s why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 1. I hope in the future Lifetime will be able to serve a broader range of individuals in our community.

I wanted to share a review of Trisha B. for the Lifetime Fitness Barre class. Trisha is a fantastic teacher who takes the time to choreograph and pick just the right music for our class. She takes the time to show the right form so that everyone can follow and get the most out of the movements. This class is getting popular and I’m so grateful to have found it. A great boost to my week with dance postures and great music!

It's annoying that at certain times the classes take up lot of the equipment, they usually become available within an hour.

Strange place where all of the dudes wear $200 work out outfits and stare in the mirror too often. People are not just here to get a work out, and the atmosphere is strange as a result. $189 for all of the stuff you get at Vasa for $25. Considering how grossed out one feels when inside of a building full of insecure men that overcompensate with expensive gym clothing, it’s really not worth your time to swing by.

I was a member from 2006 till 2020…
I left lifetime as soon as they started closing the gym instead of keeping it open for 24hrs. (Apparently everyone believed the Covid Ghosts would come out at night)
Anyways, I’ve been debating if I should sign back up.. and I will say this, it is a better Gym than Vasa And Eos.
But I’ve recently also just found out they demolished the better basketball court and added indoor pickleball… and on top of that prices have about doubled, which I couldn’t believe they could go any higher back in 2020.
But seriously, at least making this place 24hrs would make things much more considerable. Just depressing to see how far downhill this place has gotten over the years.

I've been going to this gym for three years now and I've loved it. But I'm pretty disappointed that they're not 24hrs anymore. When I first joined I was only paying $79 a month. This year they raised my price twice and now I'm paying $99. They said it was because of inflation but all the other gyms like Vasa and EOS haven't done that. I'm thinking about switching over because I feel like it's just a money grab at this point. If I'm paying this much at least they could open up and be 24hrs again 👎

Used to come here for a few years before the random price hikes became too egregious.
I recently found out from my dad that the gym started imposing a restricted schedule specifically for people who have a membership through Medicare, where they're only allowed to go during certain hours. They even went as far as to tell him that if he cancels at this point, he won't be allowed to sign back up again in the future. That sounds pretty discriminatory but I'm not a lawyer so who knows.

Been coming to this gym now for over 2 years consistently. I bring my now 3 year old son with me. We are there maybe 4 times per week. Everyone in the daycare has been kind to my son that i've noticed, and I realize he isn't the easiest child. I genuinely like everyone i've come in contact with at the child center. I was a bit disappointed yesterday as they wrote a behavior report for him and he was suspended for 3 days after going potty outside on the grass turf (oops, he's potty training.) Not a lot of grace there... but I do understand their side as well. If you have young ones that like to push buttons and you're a regular gym goer, it might be challenging with the child center behavior policies.
Overall my experience there has been great! Front desk is always so kind and welcoming. Cleaning crew is friendly. Trainers always have a smile and the gym is imo, clean. It does get very busy 9-11 and the child center feels crowded, especially during the cold months when they aren't able to go outside. I'd feel comfortable recommending this gym to anyone!

I’m actually really upset writing this because not only do we pay way too much to go here, but the main reason I decided to get a membership at this gym amongst all the others, was because of their daycare. Well the daycare has turned out to be a MASSIVE disappointment. There are wayyyyy too many kids in there. My daughter is 15 months old and they put all 1-3 yr olds in a tiny little room together and it’s chaos. Not enough workers. So many screaming kids—it’s overwhelming. They need to split up the kids or go back to when it was just 1-2 yr olds in that room. The other day I dropped my daughter off and I felt really uncomfortable because as I was dropping her off, I noticed a few kids were hitting kids and one was pulling a screaming kid by his shirt and no one was paying attention. So I decided to stick around and just watch. I stood there for about 10 minutes. While I was standing there the same little boy dragging the kid around by his shirt (who I also warned staff about and they didn’t do anything) went up to my daughter, who was playing by herself, and smacked her in the face and bit her! I went and told staff but they said they had to see it in order for them to do anything!!?! So ultimately I feel so unsafe leaving my little girl in there. I shouldn’t be paying $278 to get the equivalent of a vasa or EOS daycare. You guys seriously need to make a change!
Lastly, the yoga is so disappointing. I love yoga and have been doing it for years. Yoga is supposed to be super difficult and very grounding. The yoga here is confusing, like staccato (there is absolutely no flow), and loud. The first instructor I had was playing almost screamo music. … I was so disappointed. The first class I went to, well 1. It wasn’t hard (and I went to a supposedly difficult class) and 2. It wasn’t grounding or good at all! The two yoga classes I have gone to I also learned that the yoga instructors have no desire to help. I have been to 20+ yoga studios and have never encountered instructors who are so unfriendly and unwilling to help. Don’t go here for their yoga. It would almost be more worth it to buy your own yoga membership and then buy a vasa or EOS membership than to go here.
Lifetime has a big gym with lots of equipment, lots of pickleball courts, and a nice cafe. These things are great! But for a place like this, everything should be great—including their daycare and their classes. I have been to other classes before and enjoyed them, but PLEASE fix your yoga classes and most importantly FIX your daycare or daycare policies—It should be a safe place for our kiddos.

Gym was absolutely dead this Saturday evening. Brought a guest with me to hit a quick workout, but was denied entry because “no guests on weekends period end of story.” Even when pointing out how empty the gym was, front desk didn’t care. I understand trying to prevent overcrowding from everyone cashing in guest passes at once, but to not allow some kind of room for making a judgment call if the gym is empty is ridiculous and lame.

The managers before were awesome, always caring about employees and clients and their views about the gym. Shes not. She took all of 1 day to decide and let people know the basketball gym is now pretty much gone. The nice nba type gyms they had is now just a kids play court. They destroyed the indoor basketball gym for more pickle ball courts and nobody uses the ones the put in a month ago outside. And they destroyed the outside basketball courts to do those. Lol the management under bridgette is terrible. Keeps raising prices and destroying the amenities that made it the best gym in the state bar none.

Lifetime charges a ridiculous amount for what they offer. I pay about $160 a month for my membership. Last Saturday, I brought someone to use my buddy pass because they were contemplating getting a membership themself. We were stopped at the front desk because they now have a new summer rule that buddy passes can’t be used on weekends or holidays. We asked if they could let lit slide just for the day because the gym was pretty much empty and we didn’t know about the new rule. We were denied. Today, I went just by myself and the two gentleman in front of me were allowed a “we’ll let it slide this once” on their buddy pass. HUH? If you allow one person, you should allow everyone. I canceled my membership immediately after and my friend who was contemplating a membership changed his mind about getting a pass.

As someone he frequents the sauna, the saunas here simply aren’t hot enough compared to other gyms. Specifically in the men’s locker room. A big reason for my membership here is to use the sauna, I’m considering cancelling because I sit in the sauna here for 30+ minutes and hardly feel much. Other gyms I’m feeling it within 15-20 minutes. I’ve brought this up to management and I sincerely hope they consider adding an additional heater or getting a more powerful one. Very disappointed. Been a member for 4 years now. Not only do they keep raising their prices every month, they try to find every way they can to nickel and dime you. Between my family and my extended members families we pay just over $750 a month to this location. Today my extended family member tried to bring in another family member as a guest (a guest I had already let visit the club with me earlier in the month on a separate lifetime account). The attendant at the front would not let him enter the facility because he had visited there earlier in the month on a completely different account. They ended up charging him $40 to come in and she smiled the whole time making it feel like she was mocking us. The other two attendants saw I was frustrated and tried to intervene but she wouldn't allow it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NEW MEMBERS SIGN UP HERE IF THEY CARE ABOUT FEELING VALUED. Horrible customer service from the female receptionist tonight.

I absolutely love Life Time Fitness! It has been a significant part of my family's lives for a long time. The kids' center and classes are exceptional, keeping my children engaged and eager to come back. This makes my life so much easier, as I can get a great workout in, knowing my kids are enjoying themselves.
The café is a lovely spot, perfect for grabbing a bite or getting some work done. While I'd love to see a few more food options, it's still a fantastic amenity. And let's not forget about the summer pool time – my kids' favorite! It's the place where we spend a lot of our family time.

South Jordan, UT location
Whoever is making the decisions on how to use the workout space, the removal of the basketball courts, or the repurposing of available area in this gym should be fired and never allowed to make decisions in any organization they are lucky enough to be hired into. This gym has gone downhill fast since the last time I was here. I’ve had a membership for maybe 2 months now, but previously had a membership from 2009-2015 and used to love this place.
The “Alpha” classes are an absolute joke and do nothing but cater to the 1% of gym goers that have no idea what they are doing. I’m all for people learning how to be healthy, but this class completely disregards the experience of every single other member that pays the ridiculous monthly membership fee. This class takes up at least a quarter of the workout floor through the entire hour the class is in session. Not only that, you cannot use the 10 squat racks during this time (the class occurs multiple times through the day, and during the hours the gym is busiest). You cannot get a squat rack to save your life during these times because there are only 4 others throughout the rest of the gym floor. The best part is, the workouts these classes “teach” DO NOT REQUIRE A RACK. Elastic bands, box jumps, ab workouts, all done on the squat rack platforms. Makes absolutely no sense at all. Also be sure you don’t attempt to use a rack when the class is in session even if nobody is using it. You’ll get yelled at by a “trainer” and told “this is for alpha members only”.
There’s another area on the cardio section that is closed off at all times. Can’t go in there or you’ll get barked at by some inexperienced trainer that has no idea what they’re doing.
Climbing wall is never open
Racket ball courts are never used so they just take up space without purpose while everywhere else is extremely congested.
There’s a random storage room next to the basketball court that I’ve never seen a human enter
Instead of using the above mentioned space for pickleball courts, they remove the highly used basketball courts (inside and outside) and replace with pickleball. This is comical.
Used to be a great gym, but you’re now just burning money to be at a gym subpar to EOS and Vasa. Never thought I’d say that in my life. You pay top dollar to not be allowed to use equipment or access areas of the gym. Save your money and go to a gym that values you as a member.
Update: the pickleball courts are “reservation only” even when nobody is using them. Not only that, but you have to pay $20 for a single hour to use it. Are you kidding me? Not only did you remove a full basketball court from the gym, but now you’re charging members an additional amount to access a portion of the gym when we are already being overcharged on a membership fee? Way to extort customers and squeeze every penny you can out of people.
2/5/2024 Update:
It is comical how crammed this gym is, and I'm not referring to the population of members. The weight area and machine area are packed beyond capacity. Everything is crammed so closely together that it is almost impossible to even walk around the weightlifting areas during peak hours. As you are lifting in the dumbbell area or the machine area you are basically touching the machine/person next to you. They have also started doing kid classes at peak hours. So you have a bunch of kids under the age of 13 running around the weight / cardio areas during peak hours. Don't the gym rules state nobody is allowed in the weight area under 16 without their guardians supervision? Now every adult that is wanting to exercise has to deal with this.
Lastly, no rules are upheld in the workout spaces. I continue to see high school kids and people with a huge ego setting up tripods and a production set to film themselves working out. Why??? Isn't this supposed to be disallowed? Why does everyone else have to deal with this BS?

This gym has become a staple in the lives of my family. We use the pools, indoor and outdoor in the summer, kids center, various classes and other amenities of the gym. We love the employees and especially the trainers. Madalyn, Kurtis, Tommy and Cody are a few trainers that I have recently taken classes from. I have been consistently impressed by the quality of the trainers here. The gym is constantly being cleaned and doesn't ever smell. The locker rooms are great, as well. There are little things you can complain about, but I am super happy to continue going to this gym.

Attended a Yoga class today at the South Jordan facility. The instructor was Rick S. Could not have loved it more. I have been doing Yoga for a long time and his class was relaxing, enjoyable, interesting (did not over lecture, decribed each pose perfectly, stayed with the class 100% of the time, did a few extra added niceties - washcloth - soothing voice). Love the class . . . hope to attend many more of Rick's classes in the future.

Nothing good to say.
The management doesn’t care about its paying patrons.
The yoga instructor with nasty dreads is horrible and should not teach there.
They allow for groups of muscle heads to take over massive amounts of machines in an already over crowded gym and no one does anything about it. They also have solo muscle heads walking around like they own the place taking 4 machines at a time and staring you down if you approach!
All the walking / elliptical / bikes are old and broken and don’t work correctly.
They spend all your $$$$ putting new weights in when all the old weights were just fine! They are weights! They don’t go bad! So bad of them! They don’t manage the attire either - really gross what people wear and get away with wearing!
I suggest staying at your 24 or planet - they are better than this overpriced wannabe fitness centre. If you want something a little nicer than your gym - EOS is way better.

I’ve been a member here for 5 years. When I originally signed up, I paid maybe $100 a month for my family of 5. Since then, it has increased over $100 a month, the most recent increase being $21 and I wasn’t notified. My membership is now $206 a month.
I don’t get anything special for the amount I pay. After covid, they restricted free use of the classrooms, leaving members to do free weights on a very crowded floor. The front desk staff is rude, barely looking at me as I check in.
The only reason I give it two stars is because of the good amount of cardio machines available and the club is mostly clean. Other than that, I can get just as good of a workout somewhere else, without the exorbitant price.

My membership price goes up every few months by $10-12. There is no benefit to being a loyal member and locking in rates. I was not notified that the price was increasing again and only noticed when I checked my credit card statement. Since I have been a member (4 years) my membership has DOUBLED in cost. The amenities are nothing special and you don't get any real perks for the amount of money you are spending. There is only one location so there's no benefit of going to different locations. This location is very busy at all hours and they are not open 24hrs any more. Cost is increasing and benefits are decreasing.
Update: when I asked the reason for the continuous price increases I was told that they are raising the prices for exclusivity so that they can be "an exclusive club". Increase prices to push out people that cannot afford it. What a terrible business with such an elitist mindset.

If you’re looking to play basketball THIS IS NOT THE PLACE ANYMORE!!! I remember the basketball community being so good until they replaced the outdoor courts and one indoor court with pickle ball courts. Now there is only one court left for Basketball and half the time it’s being used by lifetime kids🤦♂️. The only reason I am complaining is because they used to only have one lifetime kids area, but then they built two more lifetime kids areas yet they still use the basketball courts for things like events and birthdays. I get it for some birthdays because they have a blowup castle so it would make sense to use the court then. Anyways RIP THE BASKETBALL COMMUNITY and grace to the people still in the one today having to deal with these things.

Update: 22 Oct 2023.
It’s SO HOT!!!!! It’s so sweaty and muggy I’m currently dying trying to workout. I’ll cancel and keep checking back to see if they install fans and turn the temp down. Then I’ll be back for sure because everything else is great.

2 stars until they install fans!
It’s too hot and no airflow!
There are no fans for circulation, and they keep it very warm winter or summer. I get so muggy and sweaty instantly after starting any workout. The amenities are great, but I keep going to another gym for my workouts because I can’t handle the hot still air. It would be a great gym if they turned down the thermostat and added some fans. It’s too many people breathing heavily and sweating in one room to not have any airflow.

Have been a member for over a decade - since the time they were selling memberships in a nearby trailer while the gym was being built. Lifetime has been through various managers and staff over the years, but it’s been consistently providing value and a clean workout space. The front desk staff are always welcoming and friendly. The current manager is making positive changes in equipment purchases and layout upgrades (although the new “stretching area” is a bit too large for purpose). The cleaning crew are always hard at work. The variety of cardio and strength training machines, range of free weights, and number of benches are great. The floor layout makes sense. I don’t do classes, so I can’t comment on those, but I’ve not heard complaints from other members. The pools are consistently clean (although too crowded in the summer) and the cafe offers tasty and healthy options.

At one point, I have this 4 stars. Now changing to 1 star. Lifetime Fitness has ruined this gym. They have significantly increased prices, doubling them in just a few years, while the overall quality has declined. Moreover, the gym conducts disruptive fitness classes in the middle of the gym instead of designated classrooms. They recently converted one of the basketball courts into a pickleball court, making it less usable. Additionally, the other basketball court is hardly ever available as it once was. To add to the frustration, there is an extra charge for the pool, which is quite disappointing. Considering a monthly fee of $169, one would expect a much higher level of value.

PART 3
Bridgette McIver involuntarily canceled my membership after my daughter was injured in the Kids Club at the South Jordan LifeTime
At no time during this situation was an apology rendered by ANY staff member of LifeTime. Suzy’s conduct was completely unacceptable for a situation of this magnitude and put her own personal feelings above the well being of a child that was injured under her watch. Bridgette has still never acknowledged that the incident even occurred, instead she took a one-sided story from her staff member as an excuse to execute her personal biases against me, revoke my membership and ban me from the club. I received an email shortly after I had returned home that day showing that my membership was canceled and I lost all access to the LifeTime app. There has been no refund of membership fees that were paid for the remainder of the month and we were just charged again on 6/12/2023.
We would like to have our memberships reinstated and a formal apology from Bridgette McIver in writing to resolve this issue. It is my greatest hope that no other member of LifeTime has to endure a situation like this again, but if it were to happen, that LifeTime would have procedures in place to ensure better treatment of their members.

I have been using Lifetime since January of 2020. All the stuffs are very nice, they are smiling and greeting me every time I am there. The whole facility is as clean as beyond my expectation, for example, one day my PT Terrell Thomas asked me to use two little white towels as the Workout Sliders and after I was done, the two white towels were still white, I mean I didn't see any dark spot. Wow!! Then I realized that the the floor is THAT clean. I also have to mention the ladies locker room, the young ladies are working very hard everyday to make the locker room squishy clean, especially Belle, every time I am there I see her. Belle is the girl who is so dearly. She is always greeting to me and help around. The most impressive things I see is she keeps her busy all the time, cleaning the floor, refilling and pick up dirty towels from swimming area and steam room...

I've been going to this Life Time location since it opened (like 15 years ago). For over a decade, this was a 5-star facility in every way. Unfortunately, over the last five or so years, it's gone increasingly downhill. I'd say it's now probably a 3-star facility (for the price you pay) with 2-star management (local/corporate).
While they do a good job of maintaining facilities and equipment, they continue to make decisions that frustrate myself and many other members I talk to. Here are some examples:
• Price—Membership rates have nearly DOUBLED since I joined, and yet, the club somehow seems to only be getting worse and more crowded.
• Hours—While rates have increased, the club is not even open 24/7 anymore.
• Floor Plan—Weightlifting equipment has been squished into a tight area to make room for an "open floor" and crossfit-style equipment that is used significantly less than the weight training equipment.
• Equipment—Some of the most popular equipment (such as one of the cable cross machines and a shoulder press machine) was removed and never replaced.
• Basketball—This used to be THE place for basketball. At one point, current and former NBA players could occasionally be seen here. Not anymore. This is no longer a place for people who want to play basketball. They used to have 4 courts, and 3 of them have now been replaced with pickleball courts. The single remaining court is always packed, and is sometimes closed so that the kids program can use it (even though they already have an entire dedicated kids area, unused studios, racquetball courts that are used infrequently, and an entire outdoor area). Additionally, this causes the floor to get dusty and slippery.
• Pool—The outdoor pool is only open for 3-months out of the year (Memorial Day to Labor Day), even though the weather is probably warm enough for it to be open longer. Additionally, I believe members may now have to pay extra just to use the outdoor pool.
• Hot Tubs—The hot tubs used to be so much better. It's common for one of them to be closed (and the open one to be packed), some of the jets to be off, or for the water level to be super low (especially in the outdoor hot tub). The indoor ones also used to have waterfalls which were really nice to sit under.
• Wi-Fi—The Wi-Fi is hardly usable during peak hours (and it doesn't help that it's kind of a cellular dead-zone too).
I'm not sure how many of these changes were the decision of local management versus corporate, but either way, they are not good decisions. Most (if not all) of the members I talk to seem to agree, so it makes me wonder what they are even basing the decisions off of (I don't think they are surveying local members).
Management seems increasingly out-of-touch with members here. In the past, I knew most of the management here, because they were always walking around the club, talking to members, kept their office doors open, etc. It seemed like they listened to members and genuinely wanted to provide a premier experience. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
To be honest, most of these issues would probably be alleviated by having additional Life Time locations in the area. The Salt Lake metro area is long overdue for additional Life Time locations, and it seems like they have tried to make this club work for hundreds of people rather than building more facilities with more amenities. This seems to have backfired, because in trying to appeal to everyone, this gym is no longer really ideal for anyone.
I love this club and am a loyal fan of the Life Time brand as a whole. However, ever since Life Time went public as a company, everything seems to be about cutting costs and padding their profits, no longer about the customers who are actually paying the bills. Not once have I ever questioned my membership, until this year. The unfortunate reality is that it's still the best option in the area—and you'd expect to pay more because of that—but it's definitely lacking the value that it used to have.

First off, I love this gym. I come here 7 days per week, my kids love all the activities. My biggest complaint is one of the instructors. His name is Trayven, he is BEYOND rude. If you want your self esteem to take a hit, try talking to him! I’ve stopped doing some of the classes because unfortunately he teaches them. He is so unprofessional with how he talks to people. There was an instance where I was showing my mother in law around and tried to give him a compliment about one of his classes to her and he rolled his eyes and walked away. Another time I was on a work call (sorry, some of us do still work while at the gym) and he came over loudly while I’m on the phone and said “you’re being too loud SHHH” I apologized and moved where I was talking on the phone. It’s absolutely ridiculous how he treats people, even in just passing. I’m not looking to have him fired, but as someone amongst many others who pays well over $200 per month to go to this gym…I would hope to be welcomed by professional employees in all aspects of the facility.

I’ve been coming to this gym for almost two years now and it has changed a lot. I loved this gym especially for all the amenities, but they need to hear this. My biggest complaint are the obnoxious classes they have here at peak hours of the day. They will reserve most of the squat racks nearly everyday for these classes and will ask you to get off of it if you are on one. This gym has became more full and I know this is not the gyms fault, but when you reserve most squat racks being that they are one of the most popular equipment in the building, it gets frustrating especially for the price you are paying to be here.

I had better experience in the past when the gym was not so crowded.

But after I had my car broken into in the parking lot. And every month we hear that another incident has happened in the parking lot.
The outdoors cameras are old, and the cops couldn’t see the license plates or even the faces of the burglars
They should hire a security guard to drive around.
Yesterday another car got broken into again, and last week was my friends car. I am getting discouraged to park there.
I would like to hear something from the gym other than I’m sorry that happened. It would be great to hear that they want protect their customers and this is what they are doing to make that happen.
I love this gym but the fear I have for the safety of my car is making consider making a change.

This gym used to be awesome. Since the new management came in, the gym has gone downhill. For reasons I don’t understand, Bridgette(The club manager) felt like it would be a good idea to hold this class called “Alpha” where they take up the majority of the squat racks and force everyone else to share the remaining 4-5 racks.
The kicker with the “Alpha” class is that they hold it during the peak hours in the morning. Along with that, the customer service has gone down hill at the front desk. You walk in, they don’t smile or look you in the eye. They just grab their scanner, scan your phone, say thanks, and then go back to talking with each other.
With what you pay every month, one would think good customer service would be a given. I really am disappointed with all of this because this gym used to be really awesome but it’s getting to the point where I am starting to look at other options.

My fiancé and I just recently got a membership here because we’ve heard great reviews in the past and have been looking for a new gym near our new home that was less crowded. However, after a couple months of working out here, we are starting to notice how obnoxious their group classes are. Their Alpha class takes up more than half of the racks at PEAK times (to put it in numbers that’s 10 out of 14) making it so hard to even use the equipment we need especially for the price we pay (they don’t even use it for the intended purpose, most of the time they’re just using the platform, what a waste of racks). We used to be EOS members and the racks there were much easier to get access to for a 20th of the cost here. Unfortunately, we will not be continuing our membership for these reasons. I don’t think it’s worth paying $190 for our family of 3 if we can’t even get access to the equipment we need without waiting for more than a half hour (that’s usually how long it takes for the non-alpha racks to open up). We don’t have time to wait for that, we work out in morning at 5:30am to get done in time for work. They also took down all of the basketball courts, no longer open 24 hours, charge to use the pool (on top of their insanely expensive membership. This was not mentioned when we signed up and did a tour). Don’t waste your money here. We’ll be taking our business and money elsewhere. The cleanliness is the only thing I am impressed with.
UPDATE: We’ve been here for almost an hour and no racks have opened up. Attached is a photo of the Alpha rack that remains untouched and apparently we are not allowed to use it for as long as the class is in session. What a joke!

I just toured this place and don’t have a membership. Looked like there were a lot of red flags during the tour with the price and the amount of people here. Reservations for pickle ball is $20 an hour if you aren’t the premium member. That’s really steep and crazy. The pool was awkwardly placed and it looked like there was a class at all times which meant the lanes would be most likely taken. Also the gym they said the kids club always took the gym which also limited your ability to enjoy the basketball court. The outdoor pool also looked very kid focused.
Overall maybe this place is good if you have kids and want to sneak in a workout, but if you don’t I wouldn’t see the value.
