I can’t say enough great things about Peak Performance Fitness in Hurricane, UT! The staff members, Zach and Jared, are truly amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure the gym is extra clean and welcoming to everyone who walks through the door. I see them continuously helping customers and providing great customer service!

I’ll admit, I was hesitant to join a 24 hour fitness center because I worried it might not be well kept but I was pleasantly surprised! They clearly care about maintaining the space and it shows. Anytime a machine is down or something’s out of place, Zach and Jared are quick to get it fixed and running again. Also, the building looks small but when you get inside it’s bigger than you think and there’s usually plenty of space and machines to get a great work out in.

Their dedication makes such a difference and if they haven’t had a raise lately, they absolutely deserve one! My experience here has been nothing but positive, and I love the flexibility of my non-contract membership. Highly recommend!

I have had nothing but positive interactions with the staff! The facility is not only clean, I have watched staff do a thorough job at cleaning…. Some may think it’s an inconvenience to have staff cleaning while you are working on your health but it’s better than working out in filth! So I think it’s a you problem if staff cleaning bothers you. If you have issues with your account, be an adult about it. I have asked some stupid questions and haven’t taken it personally when the obvious is pointed out. Learn to laugh a little and just continue working on you. My favorite place to workout!

I have been training here for almost four years now and love it. This facility is not my normal one but every time I have sessions here the atmosphere is amazing I enjoy the staff as well as other patrons. There is a ton of nice equipment and I have never had to wait to use any specific pieces. If you are in the hurricane area I would highly recommend this facility.

I’ve been going to this gym for a while now, and while the facility itself is decent, the biggest issue I’ve experienced is with the manager, Zach. Every time I’ve interacted with him, he’s come off as rude and unapproachable — not once have I felt welcomed. Even when we’ve come in as a group (all with memberships), he still treats people like they’re doing something wrong. It feels like he’s constantly assuming the worst of people instead of treating them with basic respect.

As a manager, he should absolutely have better customer service skills — especially in a small town where word spreads fast and people notice that kind of attitude. Whoever put him in charge should really reevaluate if he’s representing the business in the best way. A gym should feel like a positive and supportive space, and sadly, that’s not the vibe he brings.

I love the equipment its in really great shape very well maintained and hours are amazing but i really hate the music and it plays 24/7 :( it feels like a concert also there are allot of teenagers that i have witnessed hitting lockers and being careless or neglegent with equipment and maybe not even cleaning stuff or putting it back when they are done so i am gonna try to spend my time at anytime fitness instead might come here to use stuff on occasion though

Updated 7/4/25: It turns out my boyfriend's card had to be replaced, so the charge did not go through. In this day and age, not having a notification system to alert clients about such issues is ridiculous, especially considering the high cost of a basic gym membership. I am very unhappy. I woke up at 5:00 in the morning and couldn’t get in, even though there’s nothing wrong with my membership when I checked my account online. Additionally, there is no way to contact anyone through the website. I haven't liked this gym since I moved here, and my frustration has only increased!

The ONLY aspect that can be approved, especially in this city of vacation and retirees, is that a lot of other places have tempting puppy treats for our companions. This creates a superficial love for our pets which, in turn, creates the consumers’ happiness. Just a thought!

The machines (washer and vaccuum systems) worked well and most customers seemed quite happy! They would probably be giggling hysterically if even one employee smiled.

With treats and happy employees, this rating would have easily been a five star review!

The staff was smug, rude and very unhelpful. I registered and the first document to sign was named test and had lines of code, no information on what I was signing. The second document to sign was a waiver, for what I do not know, because it too was only lines of code. They had no paper documents to read and the staff was very smug and rude about helping. He also was wearing earphones, making it so that he couldn't hear.

They have a good facility and it’s clean, but unfortunately I can’t use it because they can’t get their key-FOB entry system working. The FOB entry method has locked me out of the gym several times. They don’t have anyone working phones or support to assist during off hours (non 9-5) which makes it impossible to get a new FOB without taking off work.

This gym started off strong but has gone downhill over time. The customer service is severely lacking—front desk staff rarely acknowledge members with a greeting or farewell, and any interaction feels like an inconvenience. The gym itself is in complete disarray, with cleanliness and organization being major issues. The men’s locker room is especially appalling, with filthy showers, toilet stalls, and urinals—it’s simply unacceptable.

To make matters worse, they’ve been raising prices by $5 every 6-12 months without any noticeable improvements to justify the hikes. It’s also become a hangout spot for teenagers, which creates additional problems. One person scans their membership, and then a group of their friends gets let in, leading to overcrowding. Good luck finding an available machine amidst all the socializing and filming.

Hurricane deserves a better gym than this. If you’re serious about your workouts, you’re better off driving to VASA or Summit. Just my two cents.

I have to disagree with Sarah’s review as well. My family of 4 and I have been going to this gym for 3 years after we moved to the area. We all have a wonderful experience there. We attend the gym at least 6 days a week and never once have I seen people hoarding equipment. I rarely have to wait for a machine to use. I’ve been to several other gyms and this by far is the cleanest I’ve been too. I see staff walking around constantly cleaning floors, machines and weights. If we ever had a question for staff they have always been courteous when we reached out during staff hours. I just hate to see negative reviews on places that I think are doing a wonderful job. I highly recommend this gym.

I saw your review, and I wanted to respond as a fellow gym-goer. I'm a 35-year-old guy who has been working out at Performance Fitness for a while now, and I have to say, I don't really see things the same way.

First off, I want to clarify that the church has nothing to do with this gym. Honestly, probably 3/4 of the members aren't even LDS. The gym is just a place where people from all backgrounds come to work out.

I get that gym etiquette can be a mixed bag sometimes, but from what I've seen, the staff does a pretty good job maintaining cleanliness and order. Sure, there are times when people leave towels on machines or hog weights, but that's pretty common in any gym. The key is to be a bit patient and communicate with others when needed.

About the sauna, some people do use it as part of their workout routine. It's not really a bad thing, just a different approach. I think calling out management for not caring might be a bit harsh. They're trying to cater to a wide range of fitness needs and habits.

Honestly, it feels like your review comes off a bit entitled and negative. Instead of tearing the place down, maybe consider giving constructive feedback. Every gym has its issues, but I think Performance Fitness is doing a decent job overall.

And seriously, if you don't like how things are here, maybe take your prejudices elsewhere or consider leaving the state. Heavens knows we have too many people like you moving in from different states.

Update: I did come to you guys, 4 times I called and got the same rude managers saying that I couldn't talk to the owners and that they were keeping it in there even though several people had called to complain. I took a picture of it and it was NOT essential oils!!!!!!!! I would have liked to have been heard about my concerns for me and others using the sauna but the employees didn't give me an ounce of consideration so this is why the poor review was put on. I grew up with that you listened to your customer because they are who is giving you a paycheck. I wish it would have turned out differently. I tried!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great place to work out but management is awful. I called to see why they are putting air fresheners in an enclosed area (the sauna) when on the safety data and the air freshener it says not to use it in a heated area or in an enclosed area and the management pretty much told me they don't care. I explained that this could be very harmful to your lungs but the young manager said they did care and that they will keep using it, even though there were several people that called and complained. It's sad that this facility doesn't truly care for people's health, only the dollars.

We moved here a year and half ago from MA. Performance fitness was in our backyard so it was convenient. We have never seen such a horribly managed gym on the planet. The gym etiquette is the worst we have ever seen!! Granted they're very thorough with the cleanliness, but other than that we do not recommend this gym for anyone who is serious about training. They have a list of rules on the wall that they don't abide by at all and people do whatever they want. There's no
Repercussions. It's obvious that the LDS community sticks together regardless of what's right. There's a ton of DRAMA in this gym. People put towels on machines and think they own it while walking away for 15 min, there's people who WORKOUT and SLEEP in the sauna - the management doesn't care!!!! I do like this gym. The one thing that makes me upset is the blue keychain rings that they make you have in order to get in. I have two different vehicles that I drive and they only allow you one active keychain per membership. There have been times where I will drive all the way to the gym just to realize I don’t have the right keychain with me because it’s on my other set of keys. Then I have to drive all the way home to get it and then all the way back. When they had the fingerprint option, it was nice or it would be nice if they had something on the cell phone that could scan in. That little blue keychain thing is super annoying. Or maybe if they could find a way to allow one membership to have two of those little blue key rings That might solve the problem. If you guys can find a way to solve this problem for me, I’ll change my review to a five star. Thanks!

2 stars because there’s a huge downside for me with the showers. Barely enough water pressure and hot water lasted me 2 mins. There’s Not even a hook available for your towel. Also the saunas are strangely separated by gender yet you can easily see into the other sauna room so if it’s separated for privacy reasons that’s not even happening/working. Honestly already want to cancel after my second day but there’s nothing else around here…

Gym is tiny, filthy, and there's hardly any equipment. The few machines they do have are all clustered really close together so working out is awkward. They have some stupid fingerprint sensor to get in and it never works and nobody is ever at the front desk to help. They used to have a doorbell you could ring but for some reason they got rid of it. The drinking fountain is more hot then it is cold so if you don't bring lots of water from home you'll be drinking room temperature water. They have a suggestion thing but I've used it countless times for them to take more effort cleaning, to get more machines, and to get a punching bag, but nobody ever listens. The sauna is small and crowded, it's barely hot, and it's disgustingly dirty. There's many gyms in st george that are cheaper per month, way nicer, and you can get way more benefits. They have a vending machine in the front lobby but everything is always sold out and they hardly ever refill it. Day passes are 15 dollars and you dont get to use sauna, tanning, or hydro beds vs most gyms the day pass includes everything and way cheaper and most gyms will offer a free day pass if its your first time. Theu do not. Definitely would not reccomend going here.

THIS IS NOT A QUEER FRIENDLY GYM. The previous 2 times I’ve been into the gym, both restrooms have had signage stating “biological men/women only”. Why it’s anyone’s business other than your own, is beyond me. The gym is supposed to be a place where all people can feel safe and comfortable, and work on bettering themselves. They have a nice set up, but they are a pretty high-flow gym. They don't offer any fitness classes which I don't love, but they do have tanning rooms and hydro beds.
They recently renovated, adding about 30ft to the weights area. They brought in more cardio machines so there's less of a struggle to get the machine you want (especially if you don't like being directly next to another patron).

Me & my husband start the gym yesterday ( 1-7-23). My husband got a deal thru his work then when we sign up. My husband added more to his membership & to mine with tanning beds. We came there yesterday. It has alot workout equipment. There were alot ppl there but enough equipment for everyone. You didnt have to wait on any thing. After I was done. I used to love this gym but now it’s not very clean, the saunas are ALWAYS broken and the last time I went there was broken equipment. I let them know but still has not been fixed. I have been super disappointed lately!

Has everything I need to get a good workout! I haven't had any problems getting a treadmill or bike for cardio and there is a lot of variety with weights and machines. Its busier morning and evening. During the day its been pretty slow.

Nice clean gym for sure but whoever put up this sign (no chalk) has never done heavy deadlifts and rows. And no, straps don't count, straps only weaken your grip

One of the nicer gyms I've been to. It's clean plus the members spray down the equipment after use. Also can't beat the price, especially for what you get. Great variety of equipment in great condition.
