Dave Hayward did an amazing job with my bike fit. It was my first bike fit and before getting fit I had excruciating outer right knee pain on my long rides. After the bike fit I finished a full Ironman distance triathlon with no knee pain at all!!

I got a bike fit from Dave about 6 months ago. I was having some serious knee pain from my bike fit, and he came highly recommended from a couple other cyclists in the area. This was my first bike fit and I was unsure of the process; Dave didn't give much guidance as to what I should be looking or feeling for. At no point was there any suggestion that I should try a different saddle or handlebar width despite me specifically mentioning that these were stock parts that I wasn't sure would fit me very well. I have since put 5000 miles on the bike and have some persistent nagging wrist pains and saddle sores that stem from the wrong handlebars and wrong saddle. I brought these issues up with Dave during the entire fitting process and brought it up in text after the initial fit. 6 months later of 12+ hours a week on the bike plus 2-3 gym sessions a week, with these same pains persisting, I'm very disappointed in my fit and would be unlikely to send anyone his way. I was persistent in trying to resolve these issues with him directly via text, but he stopped answering my messages altogether. I'm pretty disappointed that he charged me $300 and didn't ensure I figured out the right fit. I will say the tweaks to saddle position have solved my knee pain issues that have plagued me for 2+ years and for that I am grateful and giving 2 stars. If these other issues were resolved, I would happily change my current review. My overall experience, though, has me steering clear of Dave.

Bike fitting is on point. Why did wait so long? I’ve been chasing a knee issue for two years. After the fit, the first day felt funny. I got home and realized I didn’t have any pain or irritation. I’m almost 100 miles in and my knee couldn’t be happier!

When I moved back to Utah, I was looking for a team to join. This team was super inviting and everyone was super friendly!! I quickly joined!

This winter I did two classes a week at House of Watts. I just rode up Emigration Canyon for the first time this season and I cut 1:20 minute off my best time!!!! That's insane! It's all because of the great workouts Dave puts together all winter. Plus the classes are fun! We became like family.

I even did a nutrition session with Bre and found out my BMR. It was super helpful and she has given me great tips for what to eat. All her cycling clinics are super helpful and remind me that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to cycling nutrition and nutrition in general!

I would recommend all their services because they are all stellar!

I recently had a professional bike fit from Dave Harward and I cannot believe what a difference it has made! I have never felt so dialed in. I purchased a new bike last year and had been making small adjustments myself thinking I could get the fit close enough. I got to the point where I was carrying my multi-tool on every ride to make adjustments and even had to lower my seat in the middle of a race. I also started having muscle imbalances and minor nagging injuries so I finally made the appointment for a fit. I wish I had done it sooner! Now instead of fidgeting around in my seat and in my shoes during my rides and being distracted by the positioning, I can just focus on my ride. I'm more connected to the bike, my pedal stroke is more efficient, and I feel I'm properly generating more power. It has made my rides so much more enjoyable too. I cannot thank Dave enough! We all know cycling can be an expensive sport, but a good bike fit is one of the best investments you can make. If you want a great fit go see Dave. He is the master. You will not be disappointed!

Let me just tell you some numbers...

In May of 2017, I ran the Ogden Marathon in 3:03. Took a month off from serious training. I started up my training again at the end of June, in preparation for the St. George Marathon in October 2017. I had been training for about 14 weeks. My time for that race was 2:51.

THAT IS A 12 MINUTE REDUCTION!!!

I had a nutrition consultation with Breanne at the end of July, and I feel like her advice was incredibly helpful in preventing injury and getting faster in a ridiculously short amount of time. Worth it, worth it, worth it!

House of Watts this winter made me a faster rider. Liked the structure of the class and the workouts would make me push myself. Instructor was great as well, although I believe she has now moved out of state. I actually got on the podium in the first road race this year, so I guess there is some benefit to riding the trainer all winter.

Plan7 coaching has greatly improved my results this year. I appreciate a local coach that knows the races I enter. The prescribed workouts leading up to a each race has me practicing specific components of that race. And that enables me to build confidence for hill climbing, lead outs, attacks, etc. and even finishing races first. I also appreciate the rest and yoga days that are written into my schedule. Communication is the key, however, whenever I say what I need or mention how I feel during training Dave listens. My first season road racing 3 years ago did not include a coach. As a result, I raced everything I could thinking it would make me stronger, but ended up being overtrained and burned out. I've used Plan 7 endurance coaching to meet my racing goals for racing years 2010, 2012, and current season. They gave me those "magic legs" for key events. I've gotten pretty fast on my own but I seem to always miss time my events. With Plan 7, I've gotten super fast on the day it mattered. In 2012 at Nationals MTB, made the podium that day on a course that didn't really suit me (huge single climb). Plan 7 gave me the workouts and targeted my weaknesses so I could excel on that particular day. They are my #1 recommended cycling coaching service.
