Planet fitness went downhill after COVID. Before, they gave out physical cards you could check in with. Now it's a huge hassle to even get a physical card. Even more of a hassle if you're even one day behind in your payments because they can now take away your access to the digital code to check in when you're behind at all. Forking bull shirt. This now adds a social stigma unnecessarily to anyone who's even one day behind. They did credit my account for October to allow me to more easily pay the annual fee, but the hassle I've had to deal with EVERY damn time I work out has me thinking about going to a different gym. I used to love planet fitness and suggest them to everyone I know. I now hold resentment towards this company for placing this stigma on anyone who's struggling - which happens to be most people these days. Also, I'm no longer suggesting PF to anyone. They're not getting one star because of the October credit, but I'm still pissed off. Get it together, PF. You haven't lost me yet, but I'm VERY close to just canceling and going to a different gym. Ive been going to this PF for a few months now and ive been very pleased, especially since this is my first gym membership. I usually go at night and the place seems very upkept while im there. Garbages are empty, bathrooms are clean, and the floors arent dirty.
The staff most frequently on shift is Sabine, and shes been quite frankly wonderful too. We always have a neat little conversation while im there. Im always greeted kindly when i show up and told to have a good night when I leave - the customer service Sabine has provided me during my time has made this PF a pretty pleasant place for me to go to. Its inviting.

While I do love this gym & its hrs ( except the BS early closing on holidays when other gyms are open til 3 hrs later) . I am frustrated with how slow the management takes to repair equipment. An example.. the leg machine in the 30 min room has been down for over 4 weeks . How long does it take to replace a cable ?? I could replace it in 30 min . May be switching gyms if this continues. This is my gym whenever I have a delivery route through SLC and there's a good reason for it. It is very spacious rarely busy where you have to wait for equipment and also there's plenty of parking including overnight. It is kept relatively clean everyone is nice and it's just one of the reasons why Planet Fitness is my 4️⃣ life gym. Keep Up the Good Work.

This is a fantastic location. One of the best and I've been to PFs around the country, including Alaska. The only thing that was an inconvenience was there are no hooks to hang a towel when showering. I like that there is a long wide mat that runs the length of the shower area. The women's locker area was exceptionally clean, too.

I love going to planet fitness in Layton. The staff are always friendly and I see them maintaining a clean gym. This past month I’ve made myself get to know how to use the equipment. I’ve had a really positive experience, despite feeling nervous with being new to weight training. If you decide to get the black card membership, it’s really nice to have a good balance of working out to relaxation. When they are able to have Tootsie rolls on the way out that’s a bonus!

Stopped here as we were traveling from one location to another, so it's not our regular location. The gym itself is fine, with no issues there. The problem was with the shower. The water was ice cold, it started out warm then got cold & nothing fixed it, by then it was too late, I had to finish my shower with ice cold water. Next, the doors are opaque and very short. The lack of privacy was strongly felt. If this were my home gym, I would not be comfortable showering here regularly, which I do at my home gym. The dressing rooms right across from the shower stalls are a nice touch. However, the latch seemed to be installed wrong, and there was a large gap between the doors.

Last summer, while I was in the United States, I signed up for a one-month free membership at your Layton, Utah location under the special offer for young members. After the free trial ended, I returned to my home country and have had no connection with Planet Fitness since then. However, I recently discovered that my account has been charged for the past six months without my knowledge or consent. I was unaware of these charges until my balance reached zero.

I have already reached out via email but have not received any response. Additionally, I noticed that the cancellation process requires an in-person visit to the club, which is impossible for me as I am no longer in the United States. This policy is highly unreasonable in situations like mine, and it feels unfair to be charged for a service I never used.

I’m a truck driver so parking is #1 to start. Park in the back and they don’t seem to tight. Facility seems brand new and they have at least two of every machine which is the first time I’ve seen that in the country. I thought I found my favorite location the other day in Texas but this one def tops that as my new favorite I’ve seen all over the U.S. thanks a lot for the workout, clean facility, parking, and of course a hot shower. Can I just say WOW! I don’t leave a lot of 5 star reviews but I had to 1st I didn’t realize this location is just a couple blocks from my office so already a massive impact but what made this a 5 star experience is I came from a different location because my gym closes early on Friday Saturday and Sunday and I wanted to use the tanning bed! Little did I know I was about to meet “Dan”‘I sure hope he’s very well compensated because he not only made me feel like family but made this an experience rather then just a service!
He could tell I forgot my lock for the lockers and when I did that at my other gym they had me buy a new lock not Dan he had me taken care of! And I have found my new home gym!

This place is beyond help! They are thieves!! Stealing every chance they get and y’all should check your accounts to ensure that you aren’t being charged! They like to take your mo ey in the form of 50$ then 151.50$ and now 200$! I haven’t been a memeber since last year 2025! I describe the Layton planet fitness busy as EōS slow. Planet fitness does not get packed the same way other big name gyms do and I love that. Everyone is there to get a workout done. I never see groups of teenagers standing around or recording themselves. People are focused on their own thing instead of staring around. It’s such a comfortable environment to try new workouts in. I would always be scared to look stupid at EōS, but here I know no one cares.

I love almost everything about this gym except the fact that it's ok for men to walk into and use the women's restroom. It makes me feel very uncomfortable. I guess if i complain about it my membership might get canceled, but this has happened to me twice already at this location and this location hasn't even been open very long.
So women, just be aware that it is very possible to have men using the restrooms/dressing rooms with you while you're there.

No hot or warm water in showers and very low pressure. Ad the lockers room is cold. I love to take a shower after a long workout. South ogden has teenagers closing early whenever they feel like it CONSTANTLY!

Love this location it's always clean staff is always friendly, and helpful just had a not so great experience today a person that also goes to this gym gets there on a face time call, and talking so extremely loud that the whole gym can hear and his phones on full volume as well. it just ruined my work out I usually go to unwind and meat my health goals, but today was the opposite it was just irritating and uncourteous I did have headphones on lol and I could still hear everything I was also not the only one bothered by it since when i was leaving some other people working out around also stared at that person just being obnoxiously loud . I don't say don't talk on your phone if its really needed, just don't get on the equipment and have everyone around you listening to all your business on full blast

The staff is welcoming and attentive.
My only complaint is that although the gym had 2 people working out and zero people in the massage chairs and hydromassage chairs, I was told that they would not give me a repeat massage unless I came out after my initial session and request the staff at the front desk to do that. How does that make any sense? and how does that consider the customer having a great experience? I was the ONLY one in the massage chairs during both times I used them. Please train your employees in common sense and courtesy. It would have taken them zero effort to accommodate my very reasonable request. Please do not tell me that this is PF policy. If that is the case, then it needs to be changed. Thank you.

I've really enjoyed everything about Planet Fitness. Exercise, massage and tanning are great. They have a good variety of nice machines and there has been enough available that I haven't had to wait to use them. They have smith machines and I do miss free-weight bench, squat and dead lifts but it's not a deal breaker.

It's a lot closer to my house than South Ogden. A few months after I started working employment in Weber County was when I realized it was easier to go to the gym. But now I can just go there from my house and back if I'm not working! I have a friend that I brought with me to the South Ogden location, but he's hard to bring this way. LOVE this location! Everyone is so nice, the gym is immaculate, it’s HUGE and I love that there are free weights everywhere. My only complaint is that every time I’m there, which is usually early early morning when it’s empty, it’s ripping hot. You can feel the temperature difference going into the locker room which is cooler than the regular gym. I can’t imagine what the temperature would be like with a full house. It’s to the point where I did 5 minutes of cardio (sitting bike which barely makes anyone sweat) and couldn’t take it so I left. I’ve never had this issue at any other location and I’ve worked out at around 8 locations at this point. Otherwise it’s great!

I've gone 5 times now and this gym is awesome! The people that work here are attentive and nice! This location is 24/7 which works perfect for my hectic schedule when I want to drop in around midnight. The only issue is the showers have to be left on hot for 5min to get warm, other than that it's perfect. They have a plethora of machines and so far it hasn't been busy! It's a well built facility and very peaceful to workout! Very close to home!
