I love this gym! I especially want to point out an employee. Walker is the best! He has the greatest and most upbeat personality. He is always greeting patrons with a smile. He keeps the gym clean and organized. The other employees are great too!
The gym always snells fresh, has working equipment, and is the best gym ive ever been to.
I am down 204 pounds and a lot of that weight was lost at this facility!

So I will say... coming from a gym junkie, the online guest pass process is fast and easy. Download the app and select the planet you want. I was shocked at the amount of cardio machines , but not a single standard barbell. Overall I got a nice leg day here with a friend, with the usual struggling to walk the rest of the week afterwards. This is a comment based on mine and other regulars who attend the Murray, UT Planet Fitness. We are all tired of the staff turn-over at this location. The staff have always been great, but we see regular staff and manager turn-over. As members we build rapport with staff, then they are gone. No mystery why - staff and managers are paid poverty wages. The gym is busy, rates are going up and yet staff are not paid a living wage. This is a franchise we know, but Planet Fitness should be ashamed. Keep your staff, make members feel we are part of a community and not a 'how much money can we make' enterprise. Look after your staff. Treat them well. Pay them properly. Your customers are watching!

Have had a great experience for 5 months at this location until today. I heard someone behind me on the machines swearing and saying I'm taking to long and must be new. I turn around to see it's a planet fitness employee wearing a name tag that said jim! Who then asks me if I'm going to be much longer. (I'm doing 4 sets of ten of a weight machine). I say yes, and he says he just needs to do 60 really quick or he (idk who that is) will be mad at him If your judgement free make sure your employees are too! If your gonna be an ass maybe take your uniform off first(or are you clocked into work?). I'll be calling to let them know when he's not conveniently at the front desk like he was when I walked up to let them know.

I've gone to a few different planet fitness locations. I must say, this place is my favorite. Worth my drive. The Murray locations is very clean, the staff is so nice. I've gone during the day and also during midnight hours due to my busy schedule. The night crew I gotta say, is my favorite though! The guys are so fun and just so down to earth. The guy in the glasses motivates you to hit your goals. I believe Sam is so nice and so helpful in anyway that he can help. Such a sweet crew. I HIGHLY recommend this location to EVERYONE! They will reserve A LOT of equipment for their classes and the personal trainer hosting these classes will not be shy when kicking you off the machines, even if you got there before their “fitness class” started. (Definitely won’t let you finish your set either) If you’re serious about working out, and wouldn’t liked to be kicked off of machines at the peak of your workout, then this probably isn’t the place for you. You just never know if someone worked up the courage to use a certain machine and kicking ppl off just doesn’t feel very Planet Fitness to me 🤷🏽‍♀️

They make it impossible to cancel memberships. I had moved to a place where they don’t even have a location and they said the only way I could cancel is by sending a letter in the mail. Was nice at first but more people keep showing up just to sit on machines and play on their phones and the machines are usually pretty clean but lately I’ve seen people pic their nose and wipe it on machines and not wipe them when their done and leave them all sweaty and greasey, I’ve been finding paper towels and tooth picks and candy wrappers stuffed into cup holders of course it’s my gym to so I pick it up and throw it away. Updated review: the hydro beds have been fixed :) The facility is clean and the staff is nice but the hydro beds seem to have frequent issues and there are only 2. There is also no way to continue a hydro bed session. Every 10 minutes you have to go back to the front desk to restart the session. When it works it is heaven!

Poor customer service on the phone. I called to inquire about a membership and the person who answered the phone referred me to the website. Also found out that they do not accept credit cards for billing you have to use a checking or savings account. Unbelievable! This is the only gym that doesn't take a credit card. This gym used to be a great gym, it was clean, organized and it had a great atmosphere with employees that cared about the place. But now it has been on a fast decline.

The gym is very unorganized, the free weights are always unorganized and scattered everywhere because people never re-rack their weights in the appropriate spot and let alone the fact that there is hardly any benches in front of the free weight rack because people take them and never put them back and the employees don't care to go put them back. The smith machine area is the same, there is always a smith machine that has all the plates on it while the other machines have zero plates, and the employees could care less to go make sure the plates are evenly placed on all smith machines.

This gym is always crowded with people who just hang out around machines having conversations while other people are waiting to use the equipment, also there is always people having personal phone calls on speaker phone on the floor which is extremely annoying but apparently all this is normal and acceptable at this gym now.

The sanitation stations are descent but they could be better and as well as the bathrooms there is always something that needs to be cleaned inside them.

There has been multiple Saturdays where I have showed up to the gym at 6:00am when they're supposed to open but the gym is completely closed, who knows if the employee working that morning has overslept or simply there is going to be a later opening time but the matter of the fact that is very unprofessional and uncourteous because there is always at least twenty people waiting there for someone to show up and open the doors. If you guys cant open at 6:00am let your members know so they don't waste their time and gas driving there.

The employees working there don't even care if the gym is clean and organized, they just sit at the front desk doing nothing. I have never seen them walk the floor to make sure everything is organized, especially on Fridays when they close at 9:00pm they care more about leaving exactly at 9:00pm because they're are repeatedly bugging members and letting them know they that close at 9:00pm.

My advice to new members is to stay away from this place, the Jordan Landing and Taylorsville PF are way better.

I am so frustrated with this company. They have taken money out of my bank account for an annual fee, but claim they are “month to month”. There was no mention of an annual fee when I signed up only 2 months ago. Why am I already being charged an annual fee? I feel like this is false advertising and SUPER shady all the way around. I have had a wedding and a death in my family this month and have had to stick very closely to my budget. Now I’m short $50 for my bills and am possibly looking at late fees because of this company. When I called them they told me they were sorry but there was absolutely nothing they can do. I was in tears begging them to just let me cancel my membership and they told me they couldn’t cancel it over the phone, I have to come in and cancel it. You can start a membership over the phone but you can’t cancel it over the phone? Again, I pleaded with them just to cancel it and told them that I do not want to deal with them ANYMORE. Again they are “sorry”. I’m just baffled and so upset. I will make sure ALL of my friends, family, co-workers etc. know about my experience and do not use this gym. The couple of people I have already told have canceled their memberships and will not be going back.

I have been a member of this gym since 2015 and based on cleanliness/staff; it is the best PF location in the valley. I know some people complain about it being cold but here's a pro-tip: Do actual exercise. For the people who are there to actually work out, the cold air is appreciated since your heart rate is up you tend to get hot/sweaty. I'm only giving 4 stars because I HATE the weekend hours. I'm never able to get to gym before 7pm. I actually almost cancelled my membership over the changed hours but I realized I can go to the Taylorsville location on weekends instead. I really wish they were open until 8 on weekends. The extra hour would make a huge difference. Can't say it though though. The staff is great and I appreciate how hard they work to keep the facility clean.
