Yeah. I'm trying to not be so irritated when I write this, but I just need to share this. I've been to many many planet fitness's as a traveler and this is not quite the worst one, but far far far from the best. First and foremost, the gym goers here need a lesson in etiquette. Another review mentioned this as well, but in a very busy environment like this gym, people cannot and SHOULD not take up more than one machine. In two separate areas at the gym, I tried to sit down at a machine and the person on the machine next to it said 'oh I'm using that one'. When prompted if I can use it while they're using that one, they get annoyed and say they are doing interval training. Frankly, I don't give a shit what you are doing. In a very small gym, you don't occupy more than one spot especially when there aren't more than one of many machines. On top of this, the women's had four showers and ONE changing room. ONE. So naturally, I got out of the shower and there was of course someone in there and I am actively still waiting for them to leave. I heard their phone playing videos so I know they are taking their good time. I asked if they were close to being done (10 minutes in) and they told me to go change in one of the bathroom stalls. The stalls are barely bigger than the showers where are very small. So I waiting. Seriously, they needs signs all over this gym with people this incredibly inconsiderate. I will go to literally any other planet fitness aside from this one and one in Albuquerque. The only reason it has two stars and not one is because they had clean locker rooms. Usually I'd say that the gym isn't necessarily responsible for the actions of others, but they should have some sort of signage indicating that people utilize one machine at a time. They should also remodel their locker rooms to have more than one changing room. This planet fitness is just simply not equipped to be anywhere aside from a very small town, not just outside of SLC.

I canceled my membership due to that I even changed the account they are taking it from and still today and wake up and all my money is gone and still it shows I owe that’s ridiculous and I still find it weird they charged the first account I signed up
With when I changed it completely. I’m wondering how they were able to retrieve payment from an account that’s changed. A scam run fast!!!

We really like the Plant Fitness near our home in South Ogden but the audio system for the tvs is down half the time! How can they manage to take our payments out each month like clockwork yet they can’t keep the tv audio working! Do you know how boring it is to treadmill with nothing to watch? 😩

If we could put 0 stars we would. I normally go to this gym around 4:30 am almost every day, my membership includes one guest. For over a year, my wife and I (who is always with me) have entered the gym without any issues (as it should be). Today, the lady at the counter Michelle who supposedly said was the manager, stopped us at the entrance and began to literally elaborate on a police officer interrogatory. normally the employees from this gym are nice, friendly and attentive. We are upset by the attitude from the manager, since my membership is up to date and paid. We are unsure if it was due to us being Latino or other reasons for her to question us. We believe that nobody should be getting interrogated for their personal information to enter the gym they pay to be a member of, unless they have not up to date membership. After this harassment I decided to cancel my membership right there and then. We left the building quite upset and without a work out. If it matters, with new management we would consider getting a membership again. This current management doesn't keep up with cleanliness, half the lights are off when we are there and overall quality of the gym has gone down. It's been a week or so since new management and we can already tell.

I do like this gym but it’s a little small with not enough equipment. I do think they could probably figure out how to put more machines in this place, I use to love it because it was never really crowded but lately it’s very crowded and when it is your often standing around waiting to use a machine, and it’s not usually because someone is just sitting there for twenty minutes looking at their phone, it’s usually because all the machines are taken when this place is busy, so if the gym can afford it and find places for it they should get more exercise machines. Most people I’ve met are pretty friendly however you get the occasional person who thinks their time is more important than others and asks when your going to be done using a machine, or someone who thinks they can take up two at a time and it’s really annoying. If someone is done working out they likely won’t be at the machine anymore. Really like the staff though everyone working there is friendly and accommodating.

Pros:
Cheap membership price, cleanly, safe-use equipment, showers, plenty of space to work out.

Cons:
No boxing equipment, no spa, no hot tub, no sauna, few free weights, no pool, no exercise classes, no courses, no tanning beds.

Planet fitness is a great place to work out, but your workouts are going to be very basic, even limited. No ability to practice sports or to do any kind of classes.

I gave a four star because as a visitor to the city, I was treated poorly by a local who informed me, "For the record, you are the only one that it bothers." What bothered me was he was hogging up a machine, using it then walking for a few seconds and returning. I was using the former 30-minute circuit machines. When I got to that one and he walked away, I used it (after wiping it down). Given I observed him ask another young girl (who was equally hogging up one machine next to his, on her phone between breaks) if she was going to use the one he was at, I didn't think it an issue. Wrong. He stood less than 10 feet away, facing me, in an aggressive stance with, both hands on his hips. After a few uncomfortable seconds I asked if he was going to stare at me the entire time. Like a 13 year old, smiling, answered, "Yes." I stated I preferred he not because it made me uncomfortable. Like an 8 year old, he turned so facing more forward, not directly at me, but closer, in the same stance. Clearly, he had a problem sharing the equipment he had been at for over 10 minutes (I estimate, the time time I arrived to when I sat down, I was half way through) or a problem with me. I will state, I am a senior black woman. I don't go there, but lately, I won't eliminate it from the equation either. I did my best to ignore him, but having taken and practiced CPI training for 30 years, understanding an aggressive and defensive stance when working with aggressive behaviors from children/teens, I decided I would end my work out for the morning. I said, "Still uncomfortable, you do need to share the equipment," as I wiped down. That's when he made that comment. I held my hand up to him to stop as I tossed my used towel in the trash. For the record. . . One person saying something doesn't mean everyone else is okay with inappropriate and rude behaviors. It means one person refuses to be bullied, intimidated and uncomfortable. As for the staff, no one greeted me when I entered, although a couple in front of me were. The young "kid" at the counter when I left, never lifted his head from whatever he was watching and when I was walking through the door wished me a good day. I loved the facility though. It was clean, overhead music was not blaring, and the women's locker room was clean. The shower I used could use a rinse, but it wasn't dirty. There were mats for each shower, too. I would have liked to use the hydromassage, as I do before I leave, but I was intimidated by that other guest. I just chose address it. What is maddening and sad is he blatantly didn't care. No one should feel uncomfortable or unwelcomed in any environment, particularly a public "judgment free zone" one.

I will never use planet fitness again. The manager acted like this was no big deal. Long story short, the male employee came into the female restroom to clean, when I was showering and changing. I don't even think he announced he was coming into the bathroom. The Manager said it happens all the time. Oh boy. Invasion of privacy and safety. Now imagine your daughters going there. This should not be happening at all, period!! Wow, is all I can say.

Unbelievable experience. I'm 69 years old, 100 percent disabled Veteran. I was told I could join a gym to regain my strength. So I call up Planet Fitness and asked if they would be able to help me feel out my paperwork. The young lady said sure come on in no problem. When a arrive the young lady said she needed help with my paperwork and asked another young lady for help. I gave them my insurance card and driver license. The second lady act like she did not want to help me. Saying my insurance was not the right type. Sending me away like I was a piece of shit. Made me feel horrible inside. As walking out. There was a friend standing outside the VA. I walked over to say hello and tell him what just happened. After talking over my situation he told me about another gym down on 12th street VASA. I think him and walked to my truck. After calling VASA they told me to drop bye and they would help me out. After arriving the lady was waiting for me. What a great feeling. Within 10 minutes I was signed up and ready to go. VASA took allllll the discomfort away from my vist to Planet Fitness. Thank God for the young lady at VASA she's the best. I’ve seen online what people thought of planet fitness and i expected it to be like online. It was way better than what i’ve heard. My only complaints are no actual barbells and the lack of 25lb and 45lb plates after getting the new plate loaded machines. I’m also hoping to see the preacher curl bench also that i’ve seen online. Your front desk manager is so very rude. I’ve never had anyone talk to me that way he did. To make it even worse, I could hear him talking beside the phone before he would even get onto talk to me. “What does she want” “why does she need to talk to me”…. Ummm because your employee wasn’t sure on what I should do! That’s why!
I have moved out of state, but I didn’t want to cancel my account, I wanted to keep it for when I come to visit, but wanted to just have it be the basic account. Because of the way your manager treated me the next time I’m in town I will actually be fully canceling my account.

It seems more crowded with less people now with the new equipment setup, before it was probably one of the best uses of space in a PF gym I'd seen. Disappointing to say the least.

Also, it seems like ALOT of the newer machines have not been properly lubricated on their moving parts. Lots of very stiff movements on the cable machines.

For context of this entire review, I'm a 300+ pound woman. I have been coming to this gym for a while, and up until the remodel last week, I had such an amazing experience and would have honestly rated this place 5 stars. The machines were really accessible to me, as someone who is obviously a bigger person who takes up more space on the seats of the machines, and needs more accommodations.
Well, today I went to do my normal workout, only to find that the new machines they got last week during their remodel are NOT meant for overweight people. Every single machine I tried to use, I didn't fit on them. Some of them even caused me pain with pinching my legs, or causing me pain due to not being able to use proper form because I DONT FIT ON THE MACHINE! I'm really disappointed and I will most likely be finding a new gym, due to the blatant disregard for people who are bigger that want to lose weight. After all, isn't that who society wants at the gym the most?

This gym is pretty mid compared to many others. It’s usually pretty busy and for some reason none of the arm machines are facing any mirrors. They have mirrors but have placed leg machines in front of them that are facing away from them. Just seems like the space hasn’t been planned out well.

Everybody there is like family...I finally joined the FREE Training classes and I'm in Love, I also found my soul tribe, new friends. I worked a 10 hour shift on my feet all day and decided to go in for a quick 30 minute controlled heartbeat workout and as I was leaving the associate said rather loudly "didn't he just get here?"

I have to say for a non judgment zone that was pretty judgmental as I did have a solid workout in a small amount of time.

The one thing I love about Planet is that their is no leveling. Eos would be my second choice in gym. But I've tried alot of gyms and they've took over 500$ from me in "unexpected and promise refunds" never got refunds from any including Eos. If your going to another gym for a higher level work out it's not the gyms responsibility to give you that, your just lazy. These comments are ridiculous. Horrible, send a certified letter in June to have membership canceled, then still being billed with late fees! On the app it says I have no membership, but that they are going to continue to charge me (it’s November now) and adding $15 late fees. Racketeering!!! I had canceled my membership in August and someone really messed up and did not do it properly. It’s October and they were still trying to charge me. I had tried calling when I noticed the charge around 10/10 and was hung up on before I could even speak 3 times. They’re hard to get ahold of and I shouldn’t have to go to my bank and repeatedly call to get it taken care of. Finally got ahold of them today and we will see if I get the account canceled and refunded like I was told.

I’ve had memberships at a lot of gyms but NEVER have I had an employee take such great care of me as Cassidy did. She spent nearly 30 minutes helping me clear up an issue on my account and she even called my old club to get done what I couldn’t. Clean gym, nice staff, quality equipment. Black Card membership is totally worth it when you use the massage chairs and red light therapy! My only complaint is the lack of open space for stretching or any floor work. It's not a problem when I go early (6am). But if I'm late and show up around 8am it is more difficult to find space without being right in front of or in between a machine. Minor problem though.

Love this place! The staff is so amazing, helpful, and most of all motivational! Yes, sometimes it gets a little busy/crowd meter isn't always accurate, but you still can do your workouts! This is my go-to place!

I'm not going to lie. This was my go-to place for the past year along my weight loss journey. The original review was spot on "when I left it at the time." The staff has now since changed, and it shows. I loved seeing Syd, Hunter, and Mike (he is still there), but the rest of the staff, I am very iffy with. They seem annoyed to be there. Cleaning supplies are rarely stocked now, or like today, the paper towels went even in the dispenser. They just sat on top of the garbage can. Most of the time, when equipment breaks, within a few days, it's fixed. Not so much anymore.

Original staff I'd always see talking to other members when they came in. It felt pleasant coming in. Now it's like they could care less you are there! Rarely see someone walking around with cleaning supplies to restock, let alone clean.

I'll continue going because it is very close to me. However, the energy and positive attitude of staff when you walk in is not there!

These guys have scummy business practices. They’ll let you sign up through the app and get all your electronic signatures there, but to cancel you have to go to the location so they can “get your signature and give you a printed copy”.

Why is it that my signature is just fine electronically when you’re taking my money, but when I want to leave you have to make it inconvenient? Shady tactics and unfortunate that you had to make leaving a bad experience. Makes it much more likely that I’ll not come back to Planet Fitness.

One of the worst planet fitness locations across the United States. Solely because of how one of their employees will treat you. The first offense is yelling at my guest while leaving their establishment and the second is mimicking at a different date. You expect to go here for a “judgement free zone” but instead you have an employee on a power trip. Having memberships to multiple gyms in the area it is much better for you to spend your money at the EOS across from Megaplex or the VASA next to OceanMart. I strongly advise anyone considering this place to check out those instead!

When asked, the manager said he was just "following the law." I have friends who go here who ARE 13, but I don't know.

I've been attending South Ogden Planet Fitness since February of 2022. My niece and I LOVE it here. Kaycee and Sid and other staff members have been kind and professional and very welcoming since day one. This is the cleanest gym I've ever been to! I've been to the Hawaii and Las Vegas locations and they are wonderful as well. My only complaint about Planet Fitness is that the powers that be closed the St. George location! Thanks, Planet Fitness, for providing an exceptional place to pursue our health and wellness goals!

Amazing gym! My favorite place to work out and get some well needed R&R at the spa after a hard workout. The place is so clean, which is honestly a rarity to see in a gym (and I’ve been to lots)… The staff are always so fun and friendly, which makes for a great atmosphere to work out in. Though it doesn’t have as many amenities as other gyms like Vasa, it still works out great for my Spartan race trainings, and I don’t tend to see intimidating body builders hogging the machines or weights, which is such a nice change of pace!

The place is clean, and comfortable, I will give it that. I signed up for this gym because I had seen multiple locations, and I thought it would be nice to have the ability to go to a gym anywhere I needed to move for rotations. (I am currently a student in my clinical year of PA school, and I move every 6 weeks). Turns out you have to be at your "home gym" for 90 days before you can transfer. Since I move every six weeks, this membership is worthless. I looked into getting their black card membership and it turns out your are only allowed to visit a gym other than your home gym for 2 weeks maximum. So despite the fact that they tout availability all over the country... it's a facade. Also, they have hidden fees everywhere you look. They say it's $10/mo. It's not. There's an activation fee, as well as an annual fee. I am also aware that there is a cancellation fee, but frankly I am not sticking around to find out what other fees they may have! BYEEEEEE PF!!

Edit: The reply is out right lies. They require EFT to remove the consumer protection of a credit card. Consider, if they require EFT, why do they require your credit card information first? It's to trick you into thinking you are making a simple purchase as opposed to giving permission to PF to remove money directly from your bank account. This is the equivalent of writing a *blank* check to PF.

This Planet Fitness location is staffed by competent and friendly workers; the equipment is clean and well-maintained, and the place is open when you're anxious for a workout. The excellent staff, good equipment, and atmosphere at Planet Fitness is the main attraction.

However, the reason I cancelled my membership and will NEVER go back to Planet Fitness is simple - the auto-pay and "yearly fee" drove me away. Why Planet Fitness can't reduce confusion and fold the yearly fee into the monthly fee is a mystery.

And as consumers, we should be wary of auto-pay arrangements for any and all memberships and subscriptions. If you decide one is best for you, read the fine print! Know exactly when drafts will be deducted from your account. Those gotchas are painful. It goes without saying if Planet Fitness cannot give you an exact day when your yearly fee will be drafted, find another club.

I recommend fitness customers avoid the 'low monthly fee' gimmick Planet Fitness promotes and just find a fitness club that charges everything up front.

One of the cleanest gyms I've been too! Each employee I've met has been great! Good attitudes and helpful friendly vibes! I was pulled aside by a staff member the other day and was asked how I felt about my experience there? Is it clean enough, well maintained equipment, etc. It's was a good change of pace. Most staff at other gyms don't care about the members or the equipment. This planet fitness deserves the Universal gym award! It's a great gym for those that are not into gyms!

Edit: The staff's energy has improved greatly after getting more staff. Totally understandable. I had a bad experience my 2nd time in, but besides that 1 time, every other time has been overall a good experience. They have a variety of machines and a 30 minute workout spot. Greeted up in coming and leaving. Which is weird for me, but I'm starting to like it.

Only 2 Negatives.

1- No wet area, pool hot tub sauna etc.

2- The showers are NOT regulated. Women's is boiling hot and men's is freezing cold.

I go to the South Ogden location every night. I go at night bc of the grave crew! They are amazing and welcome you with a smile. They take time to get to know you and they are constantly cleaning. I never had a bad experience. I drive past 3 gyms just to get there. Thank you so much grave shift!!

I enjoy the staff. Conner and Summer Rose are great people. Need to get the tanning beds fixed, the massage chairs fixed. Pay for the black card and that's what I expect. Some equipment not working. Frustrating, but still enjoy my time spent there.

Every Planet Fitness I've been to has been a great experience! I've never encountered a rude employee. All the employees are constantly cleaning (even before COVID) Planet Fitness is a very calm space to get your workout in. They have a VAST variety of equipment for you to choose from. The bathrooms are always clean. The lockers are always clean. The tanning beds are amazing (if you're into that) Planet Fitness is such an amazing gym! It's simply comfortable. Even the members are respectful to eachother. I've never had an issue with billing for my membership. If you're looking for a gym, don't hesitate! Sign up with them today and get that body moving!!!

Very nice gym, the tanning beds are always good and nice. Just this day the beds were down. And it wasn’t like hey sorry man they are doing some work on them. It was “it’s not working right and I don’t want it to cook you so….” So I was just annoyed but 95%. It’s always good to go.

Great and friendly staff! Clean equipment and adequate weight for general fitness. Go somewhere else for powerlifting equipment. Black card has massage beds, tanning booths and there is high quality cardio equipment. Very affordable and you can bring a friend with black card.
