Ice cold showers. My fingers went numb waiting for warm water which never came. I’ve noticed a bit of a trend with planet fitness showers because they tend to have locations in a strip mall that shares its water with every business in that strip they struggle to keep temps reasonable. While I like that the premium membership allows me to use any location nationwide; a shower that drops my body temperature could be deadly living in my car over the winter. I may be forced to switch to one of their competitors as it gets colder outside.

Fairly OK gym to work out, doesn't get too busy. Lot of machines and enough cables and free weight space. Some equipment has missing parts though (handles missing on treadmills, cable machine missing a buckle, dip bar accessoiry band is coming off), back of the gym is a bit dark, there is only one band to use.

Great facility and well maintained. The staff were friendly and the black card perks were fantastic. I especially love the massage chairs and the assortment of machines to hit muscle groups so you’re not waiting around to work out. Tons of cardio equipment and clean bathrooms and showers.

A few pieces of broken equipment, dimly lit, and older stuff than other PFs on the Wasatch front. Not very ADA accessible (no ADA shower, front door doesn't have automatic opener, etc.) Staff was nice, and it was generally clean.

I’ve off and on been a member at this location many times in the past 15 years, so when I say since March (when I started my most recent membership) that it’s progressively gotten worse as a black card member, I have history to back that up. Despite them getting new equipment in the gym, which is nice, something always seems to be wrong with the black card amenities. And now today the whole check in system is down.. what am I paying for? Save the response and refund me the month of July.

Sad, very sad. Orem is my hometown and it has the worse gym around. I’ve traveled and visited dozens of PF from Calgary AB down to Arizona and many other facilities across the US and they’re all excellent facilities. The Orem PF has broken equipment daily, broken water fountains constantly and if your a Black Card member you know the massage chairs suck, the hydro lounge is usually down or has issues with pressure and it never opens on time the staff really is here to “COLLECT” a check not “EARN” it. So this is why they get a 1⭐️ and no more. Hope it changes or I’ll be changing gyms. ✌🏼

The smell they have for keeping the equipment clean was overwhelming strong. I had instant headache when I walked in and felt nauseous. From what I got to see they keep everything clean and they were friendly. I would have given higher score but the smell was to for me. So may not be ideal place for someone who is smell sensitive or allergic to certain smells.

I love planet fitness and I would rate this specific location a 5/5 except for one major issue I’ve found with the employees.

Three times now I have been doing a circuit in the 30 min express workout area, and had arguments with other people exercising who are sitting at one machine for 20+ minutes without moving through the circuit.

It is posted that it’s enforced, but not only do the employees not care to check, when I’ve brought it to their attention I’ve been met with hostility and harsh comments (ie “It’s not even busy, justwork around them”. ).

Those machines are at other parts of the gym, there’s no reason someone should be clogging the flow in the circuit room and even worse that the employees are enabling this.

If this ever changes I’m happy to update my review.

I truly enjoy my fitness journey at planet fitness in orem. Nephi one of the staff members wotks hard to keep the place clean and neat. I cant say i have been to any gym where one staff member goes above and beyond the call of duty. He has also given me great fitness tips and advice on a widw veriety of workouts form and safety above all.

Shoutout to Planet Fitness OREM!!! I had address an issue with NEPHI regarding how to transfer membership to Orem location, before I finished my workout he took it upon himself to call the other location and made the switch for me. He is always cleaning the facility and what stood out to me was Nephi assisting a blind gentleman setting up his workout station and cleaning up after him. Thank you for all that you do bro. I’ve always gone to a different Planet Fitness, but was in the area after an appointment so I decided to try the Orem location. The main thing I wanted to do was use the Total Body Enhancement (I am a black card member), but theirs was out of service due to some “computer issue” that affected all their black card member services.

I decided to work out anyway, since I was there. They don’t have lockers with built in locks, like my home PF location has; I can’t take a chance with my valuables, so I inquired with the staff member at the front as to whether I was missing where some lockers that lock were located. I was told there weren’t any, but he could sell me a lock. I debated for a while whether I wanted this expense for what would likely be a single usage, and ultimately decided to buy it (I would at least own the lock, which I may use again elsewhere).

I opened the lock to discover that it was not a normal Master padlock as it appeared to be, but some very cheap version that I would never trust to protect my valuables. While still figuring out how cheap it was, I tried to peal the sticker with the combination off the back and it would not come off. I decided to get a refund and leave without working out.

The staff member who sold me the lock moments before told me he could not give me a refund because I opened it. I convinced him that it was the only fair thing to do, but then he was unable to give me the refund because his manager didn’t enable that functionality for him and the manager was not there. He refused to give me his name. Another employee arrived at that point and told me the same thing, but he was very sympathetic and eager to solve the problem. I left the “lock” there. He would get my refund and contact me with the outcome. He took responsibility and was happy to give me his name.

The next day, I received a call from someone else who told me it was against corporate policy to give refunds on opened items and if I wanted to complain, she could give me a phone number. She didn’t care anything about the reasons, just “that’s the policy”.

Up until this point in my membership, I had been very happy in every way with everything. But the membership costs a lot, and I planned to pay it every month for the rest of my life. Now I’m researching other options.

Someone stole my wallet that I left in a locker in the boys' locker room. When I asked for help at the front desk another man came saying he had been robbed in the morning, and the only thing the Planet Fitness manager did was point to me and say: he was robbed too. They have not done anything about it, they know that there are thieves that attend their gym and they do nothing to prevent it. Be careful because if you get robbed the Planet Fitness employees won't do anything. He says the information that the gym is open 24/7 but it is a lie. Well, I give it 2 stars because of my terrible experience with theft and because I know that Planet Fitness does absolutely nothing to prevent theft.

Several months ago, I moved to moved back to Utah. I went to the Orem location and the front desk to set my new "Home Club" as Orem. The guy at the counter pushed some buttons on the computer and told me it was done. On another visit, I went in to cancel my Black Card. Same thing, same guy. Pushed some buttons on the computer and told me my account was cancelled. Now, months later, I see I'm still being billed by PF. I check my PF app, and sure enough, it says I'm still a member, and that my "Home Club" is still in PA.

The possibility of getting a refund the PA location will be dang near impossible.

I’ve never had a problem with the staff, equipment, and this location is always clean. But something that makes me consider switching gyms is the hours!! They need to at least stay open later. Closing at 7 on a Saturday seems a little ridiculous and it sucks when you can’t go to the Orem or Provo location if you don’t go during the day. It makes it super inconvenient for me when I can’t go to a “24 hour” gym. I would’ve given more stars if they were open later.

Requested to cancel my membership months ago and never got a response. I’m unable to go into the location anymore because I have moved away. The lady I spoke to on the phone was not clear so I had to call another time. To cancel I either had to go into the location or send a physical letter stating why I’d like to cancel. Today was my very first day at the gym, I signed up because I've been very self conscious of my postpartum body and I know their motto is they are a judgement free zone...I've never believed that because that just seems too good to be true.
But this location lives up to that name! I got a great workout in and I feel great about myself and my new workout journey!
The app is awesome and user friendly, the equipment they have is great, descriptive and easy to figure out.
It was a great experience!

It's hard to complain about a gym that's like $10 a month with no contract. So that's cool. My main complaint is the bathroom. Idk about the men's, but I am not a fan of the women's. All the sink drains are permanently incredibly slow, which is annoying and gross. Drano, anyone? And they aren't as clean as I'd prefer. Also the bathrooms have no paper towels, but I guess that's a minor thing. I do wish they were open a little later on Friday and maybe Saturday too but that's not too big of a deal. Besides that, it's pretty good. I have simple workout equipment needs.

I would give more stars but this location needs some serious maintenance on their equipment. There's a ton of machines that need to be oiled and parts replaced. I go to 3 different locations and this one by far needs the most help with the machines and getting them operating properly. Nothing more awkward than trying to use a machine and listening to it make loud creaking sounds, making everyone stare or look over.. and there's a couple seats that are ripped so they pinch your skin.. if it wasn't for the fact the machines/equipment aren't kept up on with maintenance, I would have given it more stars. There's definite room for improvement!
