I visit this location when my home gym is closed, since it's open 24/7. It’s a convenient and well-maintained facility, always clean and organized. Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciate.
However, there's one front desk employee who I believe may be a manager, that consistently comes across as unfriendly. Each time I check in, she seems suspicious or irritated, especially about the guest form for non-home gym members b/c I forgot once. Her demeanor feels cold and uninviting, which unfortunately detracts from the overall experience and makes me consider driving to Draper instead.
Aside from that, the rest of the team is great, and the gym itself is solid. I just wish the front desk experience matched the quality of the facility.

Everything is perfect, congratulations! I'm giving it 4 stars because I couldn't find paper towels in two boxes for cleaning the machines, as they were out, and there are two machines that don't have them—one for glutes and one for biceps! It's a very clean place and the customer service is good.

This is by far my favorite PF club in the SLC area. Brayden and his crew are always polite, prompt, respectful, helpful, friendly, and remember the most seemingly insignificant details about me and my preferences like they are the most important ones! The amenities, equipment, setup, and locker rooms are always clean, clear, and readily available. It feels more like visiting an old fashioned corner market (with incredible state of the art facilities and equipment of course) then it does some random, faceless, corporate “gym”. You would be crazy not to come see for yourself and sign up right away, with Taylorsville as your designated Home Club. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely 5-Stars!

Quick easy place to work out. There are some really busy times in the morning and after work hours. Staff is very nice, and many of them know members names. (EDIT: Most of the evening/night staff are really just here collecting a paycheck. They don't check on anything, the circuit is full of people just hanging out on their phones and not actually using the equipment correctly.) However, nobody ever checks on the 30 minute circuit to make sure people are using it correctly. So if you want to use the circuit, you may have to teach others how it works.
Also the night shift doesn't ask people to move bags, backpacks, and tonight there was even a suitcase on the workout floor. The rules are never enforced for this. Just waiting for someone to trip over a bag and get hurt.
Update: The night crew has turned over. They are a little better than the previous group, but still don't do anything other than stand around at the check in desk. Spray bottles and paper towels are still out pretty frequently, nobody enforces the 30 minute circuit rules. So many people just playing on their phones while sitting on equipment.

I love coming here very nice the only thing I dont like is their water. From their water fountain i took water home in my bottle cause it tasted kinda bad and i have a ppm tester that tests the quality of water and it went to 306 ppm and 50 is considered good water and 150 to 200 is drinkable. So if they fix this i would give it a 5 star

I’m usually not a review type of person but I recently came here as it was closer to my coworkers house than my home gym and they were excellent! I’ve been trying to change my home club forever and nobody has been able to help me until the sweet front desk guy here actually did something 🫶 I wish I could remember his name I went in around 1-2 am on a Wednesday, it would seem the guy who works graveyards is abdi? Whatever his name is I hope his pillow is always cold and no minor inconveniences ever happen to that sweet soul ever again lol gym equipment was clean and nice as well but the staff are the real selling point of this gym.

Absolutely terrible experience, as a black card member I was not allowed to use the massage chairs at all because someone else was in my chair, the staff told me to move to the next chair, but they never turned it on for me. I was ignored at the front so I just left. This was my first ever experience at a Planet Fitness and I am already going to be canceling my membership because of this terrible experience.

Good experience overall, the locker room was clean, and it was very convenient that they had a soap dispenser in the shower, since today was the one day I forgot to bring mine. The single blow dryer didn't work though, which was a bit disappointing, that's the only reason for taking off one star

I don't understand how they can be so jealous, because they always prefer to use this machine instead of letting others use it.
I checked to see if it worked, and it was in perfect condition.
I was there yesterday, when I was at the gym, and they told me they wouldn't be using it anymore.
They should take so many negative aspects into account in order to improve. If there's even a little racism in this gym, and if we pay, we have the right to use the gym.

This is probably my favorite location in the area. It’s never too busy, and they just got new equipment! The guy who often works the front desk is super nice and engaging. He helped me transfer over my membership to make this location my home studio, and I always get a hi and bye from him. The bathrooms/ locker rooms are always clean, and it’s rare that they’re ever unstocked (sanitizer and paper towels). I will say there is always a STRONG fragrance brewing in this location but atleast it’s a good smell and not a body odor or sweat smell. I’ve never used the personal trainer, but there is one available! Clean your equipment when you visit!!!

Harassment and discrimination upon walking in. I have a Black Card which allows a person to go to ANY planet fitness anywhere there is one not just a home town one. My contract also has included in it a waiver and I signed that on line when I joined.
The man at the counter told me I have to sign a waiver because this club is not my home club.

Direct discrimination of people out of the area including out of state travelers. NOT a welcoming and inclusive environment.

While visiting this beautiful area of Utah I have been to seven other Planet Fitnesses in seven different cities around the Salt Lake City metroplex.All were very welcoming and inclusive. All honored my Black Card and the Planet Fitness contract without question.

I like the gym, it's clean, real good equipment , contract is the worst I've ever had, I don't mind cancelation fee but I lost my job and got behind figured I'd pick it back up again but after 5 months unemployed I lost my house I'm now homeless, I tried to cancel my membership and they said I can't cancel unless I'm paid up, well being unemployed I can't pay what I'm behind on at this time so I can't cancel, I can't even go to the gym because I'm behind yet they are racking up the monthly amount so I'm getting billed monthly for a membership I can't use, I'll end up paying it eventually or it hurts my credit so I used it for like 3 months but have to pay for 12 because they won't let me cancel or use the membership yet they get 12 months of payments so if there's a chance you could loose everything (I never thought it would happen to me but) go somewhere else even after I get back on top of things won't go back to planet fitness, can't go, can't cancel yet still getting billed. I know I signed the contract but sometimes the unexpected happens and you would think they could work with you but they're a greedy, heartless, money oriented business who cares nothing of the members in the long run

I used to go here once a week before they opened Layton, around 3 AM on Saturday. Their black card area is probably the best of all the locations I've visited! By default, the massage machines are 15 minutes instead of 10. Unfortunately, Lime doesn't have independent contractors anymore, so if I end up making it this way again, I won't get paid.

Annie is quite rude and not understanding, we are in the middle of transferring our membership to this location from the West Jordan location, and the manager said it was fine to use the gym until the transfer is done, not only had she denied us entry with a note on our account from the manager saying it was okay we use the gym, she seem like she didn’t care what the manager had to say and told us she “cannot let us in at all”, I don’t like to complain about people but this isn’t a one time occurrence, we’ve had issues with our membership before, and she’s also denied us entry then and in a rude manner.

I went into the Planet Fitness at Taylorsville 9/12/2024. I told the gentleman at the counter that I wanted to cancel my membership. He told me that I would need to pay my $58 plus my monthly charge. I asked to speak to his manager and he refused. He told me that I needed to pay upfront the $58 to cancel my membership, I told him that I did not have the $58 and felt that it was unfair because this was my second $58 payment to cancel. I told him it was fine to go ahead and charge me the normal membership fee of $26. He refused to give me the cancellation form. I told him that I would be going in for surgery and I would not be able to use my membership. He told me that he could go ahead and suspend my account for a couple of months and then I could come back after my surgery. He told me that there was a possibility that they may waive the $58 if I produced a doctor’s note. He said that he would call me back yesterday or today. I haven’t heard anything back from him. This gentleman will not let me speak to the upper manager. I called back later and was unable to even get the upper managers, phone number or contact information. This is really bad business practice because I feel that the upper manager should at least make an attempt to give me a call, even if it may be bad news. This gentleman is a very rude and controlling. I still have not been able to sign my cancellation form. I am very frustrated because I just want to cancel my membership. I will never go back to this location because of the way this gentleman treated me. He is a bully!

Poorly managed and not comfortable for people like me.
1. I have a routine. When I go to the gym I want to hit a few of the machines, then go home. But when some of the regulars decide that it's a good idea to hang around, sitting on a couple of the machines for extended periods while the group socializes, it interferes with my routine. Management tells me to just ask them to move, but that's not my way. MANAGEMENT should have a policy. If people want to hang around, sit around the provided tables
2. Just a bit too rigid. Their "No judgement" policy extends to not even having a weight scale for people. Isn't that one of the reasons for going to he gym? Aren't we trying to get in shape and possibly shed a few pounds?
3. really pushes the supplements.
4. When I quit, I just changed my credit card number so they weren't being paid. I had heard about their difficult cancellation process so that worked well or me. Between the fact that I wasn't attending and the fact that my credit card was rejecting them, one would think that to be sufficient notification, but no, they demanded payment for almost a year after I last attended. Yes, I laughed at them. There are other gyms around. Out of curiosity, I stopped by a couple years later to see what it would take to join again and evidently they still want back payment for all this time. Really out of touch.
5. Their sign up process is designed to extract more money from you.

Was greeted by a gentleman named Abdi, he was very kind and welcoming the second I came inside. I had an issue where I got charged early for no reason by planet fitness, and he acknowledged it as planet fitness's fault, and let me work out instead of denying me. He seemed intrigued by my tattoos and was very proud of the gym. I'm going to swap my home gym to here, especially because it's 24/7 compared to West valley's 24/5. Good experience overall!

From bad customer service, being mislead, lied too, unwelcomed, no patience for someone with disabilities, talked about among staff, Notes put on the account and not informed of what these notes say, which then you are told you are not "allowed" to come back as a member, previous convo. w/"acting manager", stating you wanted to close the account due to finding out you have been numerously charged for months you are not responsible for, due to the fact you previously canceled, and informed to once again write a letter to "cancel", to very poor selection of machines, not having any new machines from the same literally years previously, why would you chose Planet Fitness over another gym? A while ago I came to this gym put all my stuff keys, wallet, AirPods in a locker. After an hour of working out I went back to get my stuff and it was gone. I checked my bank account to turn my card off and $1000 taken out of my card leaving me negative. The gym employees did nothing about it. Told me cameras weren’t in use that day and they didn’t know what they were doing. I was left with paying for a new car key to get my car out of their parking lot. This is definitely a pretty good planet fitness. The staff are nice, the place is clean, and it’s not too busy.

Keep in mind there are NO squat racks or bench presses. All equipment are either dumbbells or machines, however they do have smith machines.

I can’t think of anything negative to say about how well run and overall clean this gym is!

The gyms main trainer Mary is very knowledgeable, helpful with working with people at various levels in their fitness journey ! The only negative is I wish planet would allow more than a smith machine but that’s corporate not this places fault ! Overall any beginner to intermediate lifter will have enough weights and machines to grow!

Also , the black card amenities are top notch ! If you can deadlift 500 pounds legit you’lll have to fight for equipment somewhere else! But for everyone else you’ll be happier here as generally it’s less crowded than anywhere else that’s corporate!

Also what’s up with the No stringer signs still when I have to see these dudes in stringers with 35% bodyfat?! Kind of annoying and gross!! That’s kinda of silly! Other than that it’s great gym!

I would 100% NOT recommended Planet Fitness as a whole. All the bad reviews and terrible stories you've read somewhere else are true.

I had a bad experience in this gym.

I enrolled with the black membership card and I was aware that the membership would last for 1 year. One month before the end of that first year I talked to the Planet Fitness employes about the termination of my membership since I was not planning on keep going for another year. I specifically asked them if there was anything I needed to sign or anything I needed to do so that I would not be charged after my 1 year agreement ended. I made sure I was clear with them about that since Ive heard shady things about this business. They told me it was going to be ok and that at the end of that one year of membership it would just cancel and that was it.
So I left and was confident that I that everything was going to be ok. I paid all my montlhy fees on time. 3 months after my yearly membership ended I realized that they had continued charging me. They charged me the yearly fee again, and they charged the montlhy fee for 3 months. I talked to them and they are 100% not willing to help or do anything about that. They would not even explain their policies. I talked to my bank to see if there was anything I could do about it.

My bank told me that they weren't able to do anything about it because of the way Planet Fitness does its business. I went back to Planet Fitness and asked to sign the termination of my membership to make sure they wouldn't keep charging me for a service that I wasnt using.

So, based on my personal experience, I wouldn't recommend anyone to enroll with a Planet Fitness membership anywhere in the country and anywhere in the world.

Fitness is not their business. Their business is scamming people with their memberships and with their dishonesty about their policies.

Trust the reviews, and don't think that it is going to be different with you.

I’m considering moving my membership to this location but, I’m hesitant because the last two times I’ve come in the equipment in the black card area is not functioning properly. I’ll give it a few more visits to see if the issues are resolved.

Another of people say that planet fitness sucks but, it actually isn't to bad. They also have an assisted pull ups machine that has many different angles and it makes it easy for me because I am not actually able to do a pull up yet but I will because of this machine.

Was looking for a new gym and haven’t been impressed with some other options around here. After trying my first day at this gym though, I signed up before even leaving the building.

Everything was so clean and the equipment was in great shape. Everyone was cleaning their equipment after each use👌 Bathrooms were spotless too

The people at the front were super friendly and helpful

Wasn’t crowded at all and I found all the machines I needed. Looking forward to coming here for some focused workouts with great equipment in a super clean environment 🤟

Making black card members do paperwork, because it's not their home gym is very cringe and unwelcoming. most other Planet Fitness dont do this, because it makes people upset.

i know it's not 'for safety/ injury ' purposes, because no other PF across the country does this, and I've worked for PF before. its just some weird tactic to try to make people swap their home gym here so you get more money.

Taylorsville's Planet Fitness is one of the nicer gyms I've been to, and it has become my home gym as a result. The staff is awesome, they keep the gym clean, and they are all very friendly.

While it doesn't have many of the amenities of the bigger gyms like EOS (also a squat rack or true bench would be nice), it does operate 24/7 and that makes up for it a bit. For the more timid or even those who don't want to work out during the busy prime time hours, this is definitely a perk.

Overall, this particular PF location is the best of the best, thanks in large part to the staff.

Special shout out to the janitorial staff--they are often the unsung heroes at any gym.

What a Joke!! Membership should have been canceled at the lockdowns from covid and they have still been billing me! I didn't even ask for money back just to cancel today and they made a big deal of it and make you go in to cancel. was told I should have had paper work from canceling but you could no go in then! this place rips people off find a better gym then these people!

I really appreciate this location. I tend to go here when I'm not able to get to my own before work. It is a little smaller than some of them, but they have all of the same machines. The staff up front is friendly, and when I have struggle days to get there before my workout buddy because of Rheumatoid Arthritis, they've been very understanding and don't make my buddy wait in the cold until I can get my body there. Thanks for working with me and understanding. I really appreciate you guys!
