My first experience was amazing. I arrived and Brian walked me through the sign up/waiver, really fast and easy. Him and everyone were so friendly. I was practicing an assisted backflip throw which I haven't done since 15 years ago. I'm 30 now so I can't risk injury. Brian strapped me into the bungee harness and I tried the trick that way to get over the mental block. Another gymnast saw what I was doing and came over and gave me pro tips. Finally I ditched the bungee and sent the flip flawlessly with my partner. I'm very thankful for the support and equipment which got me right where I want to be!

Mixed Feelings
Mostly positive, but there are definitely things to be aware of before attempting to attend a class.
Pros:
The location and facilities are great!
Accessible by public transit, great natural light, and a very cushy floor.
Very wide range of classes, and easy to navigate website/sign up.
The staff were all nice, and clearly passionate about circus arts.
Cons:
Class size feels like a big gamble. On the website it looks like classes can go up to 20 people, and after attending a class that was overwhelming and hard to follow with around 8 people, I feel like it would be better for students and teachers to lower limit on the number of students per class(at least for classes with aerial apparatuses).
‘Beginner’ can encompass a wide range of levels. In my experience as someone in okay-but not great shape, I definitely would have benefited from and preferred a super-pre-beginner basics class.
If you’re already in fantastic shape and coordinated SLC Circus Center could be a great fit! However, if you’re at the start of your fitness journey, have physical limitations, or just aren’t the most active person, the barrier to entry is pretty high and potentially discouraging.
TLDR: Lovely space! Great location! For good or ill, if you’re looking for a challenge, you’ll definitely find one!

Bryan gave me some very specific helpful tips to advance my handstand and hand-to-hand practice. I took classes with him several years ago and his dedication to yoga and circus arts really shows in refinements he offers to progress skills. SLC Circus Center will be my stop for training in western USA!

I discovered this place a month ago and have been there nearly every day since- despite living an hour away. The 1-2 hour commute is worth it because the environment is supportive in a way that fosters intentional community and care I haven’t found in other studios. This is done not only by the rules of the studio but by the culture the owners and staff live. I go here when I need a friend, a good workout, or a good cry while stretching and listening to my music. I was terrified and honestly intimidated to try the cool tricks I had seen online, but after coming to my first class, I was filled with hope and confidence I didn’t think were there. Instructors and fellow students even break down moves in ways that are comprehensible to diverse learning styles before working with individuals to make sure everybody accomplishes some sort of new skill by the end of class. Days I don’t get the full skill by the end of class, I have still learned a plethora of baby skills that give me excitement and purpose to keep coming back. By the second class or open gym session I try the main skill again, I usually get it. I’ve been mind-blown by the skills I’ve learned just in a month that I never thought I would be able to do. Needless to say, my confidence has grown, my fitness has improved immensely, and greatest of all, I’ve made so many new friends.
I’m severely grateful for the SLC circus center and would recommend it to anyone especially if you’re intimidated but curious. There is a place for you here.

Brian was super helpful, kind and had a calm demeanor making me feel welcome right away. I visited to practice lyra while visiting a friend in SLC. The space was lovely with big windows and lots of space during open gym. I was able to run through my routine and learn a few things from other people at the gym. Thanks Brian for a lovely time! Highly recommend a class or open gym :))

Such a great part of my time in SLC! Instructors are knowledgeable and welcoming. They've really created a great community here and no one of any skill level should feel hesitant to go check it out, you won't regret it!

What a parent hack! This place is great if you have littles or if you are interested in increasing your own dexterity, flexibility and grace. Download their app now and check the schedule. There is a class almost every single day that will keep your kid active instead of scrolling. There are classes for adults all day, every day. They have deeply qualified coaches and trainers. People who have spent their lives tumbling and dancing from the ceilings! The staff are positive and inclusive. The proximity to Whole Foods, restaurants and shopping make this place a great spot to drop kids and check off shopping items from your list at the same time. Can't recommend this place enough! FAMILY GYM!!!

I've been coming for a couple of months. The classes are a lot of fun. The instructors are very skilled and approachable, and the people are friendly. In every class, I'm challenging myself to do cool acrobatics I never saw myself doing before, and the atmosphere is very supportive.

Had a wonderful experience for a group of 10 adult novices. Great instruction on technique and safety and even discussing how we are feeling in our bodies before beginning. I am 45 and don’t work out and i was shocked at how capable i was. I didn’t even feel that sore afterwards. This is excellent team building.

I signed up for a straps class yesterday. It was my first time. I would not recommend this to anyone. The owner was kinda creepy, and the class was horrible. Granted it was a sub, but at no point did it seem like a class. The "instructor" vaguely said what to do at volume .3 and everyone was confused. The experience just kinda ended and it felt like a massive waste of time and money.

Formerly Root to Rise studio in Farmington Utah, Salt Lake Circus Center is a fantastic studio for acroyoga, standing acro, hoop, lyra, handstands, tumbling, open gym, yoga, the list goes on etc. The thing that makes this place phenomenally great is the community and the owners. I have participated for over 7 years with this wonderful studio and it has been absolutley worth it and a privilege. As a Mental Health Professional this studio and community has nourished my soul and kept me in a place of peaceful belonging through my difficulties, which is so damn hard to find in our society. I know the darkness of human suffering and this studio is an oasis in the mire. Chantel and Bryan, the owners have created this wonderful space for over a decade and truly care about the community and have truly cared about me. I love these people and consider my acro community my family. It takes bravery to try something new and to suck at it. But before long, you realize you kick ass and have belonged all along. If you're on the fence, take a breath, stop thinking, and show up to an acroyoga class on Wed nights. Much Love and Gratitude.

This isn’t just an acro studio—it’s a sanctuary for the soul. From the moment you step in, you’re met with an energy that feels both grounding and freeing. The trust, connection, and movement in every session go far beyond physical strength; they tap into something deeper—healing, confidence, and pure joy. Whether you’re here to challenge your limits or simply to reconnect with yourself, this space lifts you in every way. Grateful to have found a community that empowers and supports each other.

This is a wonderful, spacious place of connection. I’ve loved connecting with my body through Acroyoga, Aerials, and Stretch classes. The people here are so helpful to beginners!
My 10 year old niece really enjoyed being able to practice hammock & see her progress in the mirrors. Adriane is an amazing teacher for both adults and children- we love her warm ups, cool downs & incredible lessons in between of how to gracefully move through the air.
I enjoy the people I meet in class & have made genuine friendships here. So grateful to have a space to move, groove & learn new skills.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I’ve improved more on my handstand in the past 3 months than the last 10 years I’ve been trying to learn myself. The acroyoga classes are my favorite but every single class they have is so much fun and the perfect kind of challenging. Bryan and Chantel have done an amazing job with this place. Come learn fun skills!

I took the Wednesday night Beginner's Acroyoga class, and all I can say is, what are you waiting for?!?
The facilities are amazing and top-notch.
The teachers were knowledgeable and accessible; they did a great job breaking down each step with demos and instructions.
The class was a crew of wonderful humans, and the open gym afterward allowed people to practice what they learned and explore new heights!
Come check it out!

Beautiful, inviting facility and warm, inviting teachers. I took a stretch class with a friend (her birthday gift) from Arielle who is essentially mother earth incarnate :) Because I was paying for my friend, we had to do some quick learning at the desk for how to set that up but it went smoothly and professionally.
Class began with some quick intros which was nice and grounding. Arielle led us through class on a squishy floor at a brisk pace, keeping us moving through some difficult (e.g. sensation-full) stretches, peppering in supportive comments and cute witticisms. She had advice on modifications for those who needed it, including herself as she is pregnant.
An unexpectedly fun part was the partner stretching where we 'leaned into' (literally) helping our partner stretch. It was nice to have a friend there but it would have been just as fun with 'strangers'.
Overall an awesome experience. Highly recommended.
pro-tip: Go check out the rad Buddha poster in the (very clean) bathroom.
