Nice premium gym, lazy management cannot keep enough towels for members. Seems like a pretty easy amenity to not run out of by 7am in the morning. Do better please

Best weight room setup of any gym I’ve been to! Super clean, and never overly crowded. I wrote this place off for a while based on the low reviews, but it has really blown away my expectations. The group fitness classes are great and a nice option to jump into when it fits the schedule. The one major downside is the Sunday hours…8-6. Would love for them to open a little earlier, or stay open later. Makes it tough to fit in, especially during ski season.

Best Gym in Salt Lake City. The Salt Lake Tennis club has the best weight room set up, with very nice and cool trainers. They have a great sauna room and a fun pool to hang out at. The tennis is super fun, with great coaches and many clinics and fun sessions to pick from. The people that work at the gym are very cool, and it's a great vibe.

I mostly come here for the tennis, but the gym is pretty small and doesn’t have many machines to use. And the pool is always super crowded with visitors. The building is pretty modern and clean, and the bathrooms are spacious. But the tennis lessons here are very overpriced. While some are worth it others are just downright scams. For example some of the coaches are worse than the juniors that play at the club, yet they charge anywhere from 80-100 dollars per lesson. Crazy.

Wow what a joke of a gym with very dishonest people. My wife recently tried to pause her gym membership for 3 months and was asked by heather to “provide proof of her travel plans” there is no reason why you should need to prove anything to pause a membership if you’re not using it. And we shouldn’t have to give you our personal travel plans. After reviewing the contract there was nothing in there that stated proof is needed to pause the membership, when brought to heathers attention she lied and said “it was discussed verbally”…this conversation was all via email and essentially written proof that they are breaching their own contract. As much as I love supporting local businesses do not trust anything these people tell you.

I’ve been a member of the Tennis Club for a little over a year and go almost everyday. I don’t really understand the negative reviews below. I guess some people honestly are high maintenance. I love everything about this gym. The staff and members are super friendly, the gym is very clean (it’s almost a bit much at times when I’m getting my area cleaned as I’m working out😅). I love the new additions to the gym as well. There are a couple of machines missing that I’d normally like to see in a gym (pec deck and incline press) but overall the gym is a 10/10 for me.

DO NOT JOIN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN. I was so excited to join this gym solely for use of the workout equipment and classes because their facility is impressive and relatively clean. Unfortunately, I’ve run into a lot of problems in the last year. After paying $1500/year for a couples pass I was disappointed to find that the turf fields are constantly reserved for kids and kid related summer camps (we’re talking ONE hour of use for members without children between 3-8pm every day this winter). In addition, this gym lacks what other basic gyms at the same cost may provide included towel service, functional drinking fountains, staff that actively puts away dumbbells, or basic cleaning supplies for machines (there are wipes usually but staff doesn’t restock things often). We had an episode of forgetting something important by the pool, called the office that afternoon and they confirmed they were in possession of our stuff in the lost and found, and when we went in the following morning they said they had given it to someone else! :( WTH? So again, if you’re just looking for a nice gym with decent amenities and to not have children step on you when you’re working on a yoga mat minding your own business when the summer camp comes ROARING through, I would NOT join this facility. Summer camp leaders are also maybe max 12 years old so there’s no asking them to politely control their groups in the gym. I’ve emailed management, nothing changes.

I am consistently impressed with Salt Lake Tennis and Health Club. Highly recommend!
Pricing: Their pricing is fair and transparent, and I appreciate that you pay for tennis only when you play. Other facilities I've been to build tennis costs into their membership pricing, increasing total membership costs. I really like the 'pay as I play' model because I don't play tennis at the club daily. The tennis programs I've participated in have been incredibly economical, and I was astonished by the surprisingly low cost of the tennis programs for members. As it pertains to membership, every interaction with Heather has been great. In fact, about a year ago, I had a concern with my membership, and when I spoke with Heather, she was accommodating and worked with me. My decision to renew my membership the following year was influenced by her willingness to help me and my wonderful interactions with her. Many thanks to Heather!
Staff and Other Members: The staff has been nothing but superb. Upon entering the club, the front desk employees greet you with several warm welcomes and smiles! Many of them know me by name, making the experience much better. They've been helpful and can answer any questions I've had. Each tennis coach I've had the honor of working with or attending their class is exceptionally knowledgeable, honest, comically funny, and encouraging. They are always happy to answer any clarifying questions, and I look forward to each tennis program/class because of them. When I first attended a tennis program, the other club members were so kind, excitedly welcoming me, and explained the drills. The club has an overall fun energy among the staff and other members. And I've even made some great club friends! A non-member even commented to me how friendly everyone at the club was!
Weight Training and Cardio Areas: I love that a few pieces of equipment are always available for use, even during their busiest times. At other facilities I've been to during peak times, I've been 'stuck' on one machine, waiting for another to be available. They upgraded many of their weight training equipment, which has been great. The club is clean, and I frequently witness the cleaning staff - one of them in particular - continually cleaning the cardio area and women's restroom. The frequency with which I've witnessed her mopping the floors has greatly impressed me. She does a fantastic job!

I recently had the pleasure of swinging by the Salt Lake City Tennis and Health Club, and boy, did it serve up an ace experience! As someone who has bounced around quite a few fitness facilities, this place really hit the sweet spot with its top-notch amenities and an absolute racket of fun with the staff.
From the moment I lobbed my way through the entrance, I was greeted with a volley of smiles and warm welcomes. The folks at the Salt Lake City Tennis and Health Club sure know how to serve up some genuine hospitality. They’re aces at making you feel right at home and ready to tackle the court.
Speaking of courts, this place has a volley impressive selection! The tennis courts are as smooth as a perfectly executed drop shot. They’re well-maintained and provide a solid baseline for players of all levels. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro, you’re sure to have a smashing good time playing here.
But hold your horses, because there’s more to love than just the courts! The Salt Lake City Tennis and Health Club has an arsenal of fitness amenities that will make you feel like a grand slam champion. Their gym is decked out with state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring you have all the tools in your fitness arsenal. It’s like having a personalized coach without the grueling sweat sessions!
Now, let’s talk about the staff—these guys are an absolute riot! They’ve got more jokes than a tennis ball has fuzz. Their friendly banter and wit will keep you entertained, even during the most intense matches. Plus, their knowledge and passion for the game are match point-worthy. They’ll have you smashing your goals and serving up success in no time.
In addition to the fantastic facilities and staff, the club organizes various events and tournaments that add a volley of excitement to your experience. It’s a smashing opportunity to meet fellow tennis enthusiasts, share a few laughs, and challenge each other to some friendly competition. You’ll feel like part of a tight-knit community that’s always up for a good volley!
All in all, my time at the Salt Lake City Tennis and Health Club was a smashing success. The top-notch amenities, well-maintained courts, and the hilarious staff made it a volley enjoyable experience. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, this club is the perfect match for a fun-filled and pun-tastic fitness journey.

UPDATE: Response below makes my point for me. Priority is given to members even after public registration opens and your card is charged. Therefore, the rug can be pulled from under you at anytime!
Not an establishment I would trust. We made sure to take off from work to drop off forms for summer camp the first day registration opened. Our credit card was charged and then we received a text stating “I thought I could get your child into those weeks but THEN a surge of members signed up”. They tried to get us to sign up for other weeks. When we asked if that could happen if we registered for other weeks, the director was very dismissive. Did not even deny that another cancellation would not happen. We feel we need reliable plans for our child as two professionals with full-time jobs and this unprofessional behavior has put an extremely bad taste in our mouth. Would not recommend to any friends or family.

This gym is the one of the nicest gyms you'll find in the greater Salt Lake City area. I've been exercising in gyms for over two decades and the experience here is second to none. The equipment is all new and top of the line from Rogue Fitness. The trainers are very professional and serious athletes in their own right. They know their stuff to boot. My experience with the membership staff (Heather) was very pleasant. All gyms get negative reviews but most of the ones I'm reading about this gym seem totally fake. Heather was transparent in signing up both in pricing, length of agreement and costs for additional services (tennis, childcare etc). I'm almost tempted to not post this because I like that the weightlifting area has never had more than 10 people in it during the times I worked out. I'm told the owner is investing heavily in adding even more equipment. Excited for what the future holds.

Terrible customer service. High rate for a very poor experience all around. I joined to use the gym and just after a month they got “new and improved” gym equipment that ended up being very odd, un-usable, not user friendly and a very poor layout.
The free weights were ALL over the place always, never once organized, extremely unprofessional for a gym environment having weights all over the floors basically thrown wherever.
When I wanted to cancel my $120 membership (because of my terrible experience) to my surprise I was told I needed to pay a $150 cancelation fee ON TOP of my $120 monthly fee.
Originally, the front desk staff told me I paid an initial fee at sign up so I could cancel at ANYTIME with no fees and no time frame. What I was told is so very incorrect from a very undertrained staff. Now I am having to pay $120 for a month that I do NOT want. PLUS another $150 to cancel.
For your own sanity, do not go here ever, do not believe a thing the front desk staff tells you, and DO NOT join their membership.

The facility is nice. The biggest issue IMO is cleanliness. The women's locker room gets cleaned about once a month, if that. (My husband has indicated the men's locker room is about the same) There were times the showers and changing areas were not cleaned for nearly 2 months. The steam room in the women's locker room has been broken for nearly 6 months at the time I'm writing this (5/2/22). The sauna was cleaned 3 times in the year I was a member, the steam room about the same (in 6 months, the other 6 months it didn't work). I spoke to and emailed management about the cleanliness issue several times, which would result in a cleaning.... and then .... nothing again. I watched as front desk staff and management walked through the women's locker room with trash on the floor and didn't stop to pick it up. It's a shame that such a beautiful facility is so dirty. The common area seems to get cleaned about once a week, which for such a high traffic facility just isn't enough.

We got a summer membership in order do some activities with friends and also as a litmus test before potentially making a more long-term commitment. This club is excellent at some niche things; only OK in other regards. After visiting many days this summer, I do think the pool needs problem solving.
-At this price point, the pool should open at more like 11:00 a.m. than 1:00 p.m. That would allow families time to visit before the UV is at peak intensity/campers are packed in. Pools at The JCC, Cottonwood, and Salt Lake Country Club open to families earlier in the day.
-The lifeguard's music is too loud!!!! Songs with uncensored profanities (f--- and sh-- REPEATEDLY afternoons last week) should not be blasting at over 80 decibels. So unpleasant. When certain guards are on shift, I cannot hear my kids speaking 2 feet away. Turn it off altogether, please, it's awful!!! I want to hear splashes, wind, people's voices, not feel like I'm at a cheap discothèque. I also don't think the guards could possibly devote full attention with music that loud 3 feet from their ears.
-The baby pool needs regulations as commonly seen at most pools - e.g. age limit, restriction on inflatable toys, enforced conduct expectations. Too often, as soon as adult swim starts, the baby pool fills with kids aged 10+ eating burritos and sandwiches in the water (gross) and playing bumper cars with inflatables. Dangerous for the tiny ones.
-The lap lanes are ignored and just used for free swim 100% of the time that I've seen, so maybe remove them for more fluidity?
-Diving boards need resurfacing/replacement.
-Seems there is too much access for non-members, especially given that crowding is already an issue. They're doing a membership freeze for now, but I think limiting non-members access, especially to kids' activities, is what might ensure a positive experience. The age to be unsupervised should perhaps be older than 15.
We hoped to be more impressed. Overall I think this club benefits from lack of competition within its geography.
Also, summer membership approaches $1000 for a family. (Plan to spend additional for lessons, guests, teams, court time, food, pilates, etc.) We joined with the information that swimming was Memorial Day to Labor Day. Well...
The pool did open Memorial Day weekend, but then promptly closed to kids through June 5.
M-F the pool never opens until 1:00 p.m. Around 1:00-3:00 it's crowed with campers, loud and chaotic.
The pool closed at 3:00 p.m. for swim meets June 9, June 14, June 29, July 12, July 19.
The pool hours for families were shortened to 5:00-8:00 p.m. August 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.
The pool was closed to kids due to no lifeguards August 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31, September 1, 2, 3. (Ridiculous, this is a great window for kids to swim after hot days at school, and they really want to!)
Additional closures happened due to the smoky air.
So... 'sort of' on Memorial Day - Labor Day.
I am aware of multiple members who have brought up some of the issues I've outlined with management. Not aware of any actions taken in response beyond the lip service of "email us" or "Let us know if you find anyone who wants to work as a lifeguard." Err...no. For the price to swim at a private club, they need to take care of staffing the pool, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
I think you'd have to have low expectations to give the summer membership experience 5 stars. Like not even care if open or not. I am fine for paying additional for a private club over a public pool (even prefer it) as long as it's commensurate with a quality experience. This fell short.

Terrible managment. Terrible instructors. Terrible facility. Too many problems to talk about. Will NEVER go to this recreational center again. The summer pool pass is crazily overpriced, members are treated like cash cows (a cheese sandwich from the snack shop was well over $6) and the staff are not helpful and immature. Yes, the facility is ran by high school kids that really don’t care about you or the facility. Had several problems with other members of the pool - kids - treating my children horribly. Made fun of them. Pushed them off diving boards. Completely against pool rules. The lifeguards do nothing because they are kids so they don’t want to be the bad guy with other teens, the woman in charge does nothing. To solve my problems with the teen pool issues I had, she had me sit down with 3 boys that harassed me and my son to figure out how we can coexist. Who does that? Has a member talk to another member that has beef with. So completely unprofessional. I would say disorganized is an understatement. You get the run around and then have to keep tabs on people getting back to you. Signed my son up for swim lessons in April, to learn in June that my son was in the wrong group and that there were no other swim lessons available to him. Broke him down due to what the instructor did and did not say. Very rude. I’d run for the hills before I joined this club for any reason. I was very close to suing them for distress, discrimination, charging my credit card illegally for club needs (I did not sign off on), avoidance and unwillingness to appropriately handle club policy AND for contractually changing its rules to favor their situation. The club would not reimburse me for the summer. Even though I mentioned the above to them. I even alerted them to a family crisis that occurred at the end of June, and they wouldn’t terminate my contract. I had my brothers death certificate, date, etc so they could see that the pool was not something we could no longer attend because we had family to care for - no reimbursement. They did give me $125 for the rest of the summers use - which there wasn’t. I could go on. This just happened summer of 2021 - and I’m still upset that the tennis club treated us terrible there. Perhaps public pools in SLC are the way to go.

Their little childcare has no screens, very interactive caregivers, activities, crafts, and lots of high quality toys.

My family moved over from the Sports Mall in May of 2018. We have used their personal trainers, tennis instructors, and swim instructors. All have been very professional and talented. I like the personalized programs they will create for each of us.... It has helped me to lose 15 lbs. since joining. My 9 year old and 4 year old love the pool and the 4 year old can't wait to go to the daycare while I take my cycling class...they are always available, friendly, and creative as they help with her drawing skills. Tennis has been the best! I have played for over 30 years now and I have many friends and new opportunities to play when I want at the club. Jackie and Ben are incredible at getting the family involved. My wife Ana, has played every week since joining and is almost ready for competition. My biggest hope is that they will have the new spa up and running in the next couple of months. They have informed it is coming and after playing so much tennis, the workout classes, and just lifting or cardio work...my body need as a Steam Room and Jacuzzi. I was skeptical at first since I knew I would pay a little more than the S.M.....but it has been well worth it!

The courts are nice, and it is also great for indoor tennis. The facility is professional with exercise equipment and lounge areas. I was there for a state tennis tournament and it was extremely difficult to see anyone playing past court two because there is not seating area around the courts on the indoor courts. The out door courts are nice! It seems like a really good place to do lessons and go to play for fun, but not to watch matches and tournaments.

The salt lake swimming & tennis club seems to be very unorganized. We signed our son up for diving (with the actual hopes of him improving diving skills.) We were told that there would be a total of five kids MAX in the class. We felt that was a good amount and were assured that diving teachers are rare, and the club manager said they only have ONE diving instructor, and she was REALLY good. Our first day of the two week session- 7 kids showed up, and the instructor stood at the side of the pool the whole lesson. We were disappointed and asked about the amount and that night I received a call saying there would only be four kids the next day. I was relieved and impressed that they took the time. The next day, not only was there a different instructor, but there were SIX kids in the class. When I inquired about t with a manager, they said "sometimes this happens where kids just show up"...... I asked "don't you have rolls that SHOW the paid students and who SHOULD be there versus who shouldn't?" and they didn't really have a great answer. Luckily, by day three there were only four students, however we had a THIRD instructor. If it weren't for the instructors improving in teaching skills as each new one emerged, I would be more upset about that, but the third teacher "Olivia" was very hands on, very good with dialogue and very persistent in getting the kids to improve. Overall, there is some communication error somewhere, lack of organization, confusion with dispersing incorrect information and it's not too encouraging for us to actually buy a membership. I wish there were more diving opportunities in the valley. Our son really loves it.

Decent courts with indoor and outdoor facilities. It has a somewhat dated feel, but the staff is nice and they're currently in the middle of a major remodel.
