Love every single class there and the amazing instructors. Especially wanted to thank Deb. Kids cardio my boys absolutely love. And it’s free. She designed the cutest, funnest activities and it is a blast for my energetic boys. Thank you and love all you do for the community.

This review is purely for swim lessons. We have signed our daughter up twice for classes and both her teachers have been wonderful. My daughter is four and has lots of energy. She is excited to be around other children and wants to play all the time. Both her teachers (Jill and I believe Aubrey) were incredibly patient with her and the all the other little swimmers in the class. Clear to tell they knew they were working with young children. Appreciated their time

I would not waste my money ever again ever on this place. Canceling ASAP and have been meaning too! When I first signed up, they didn’t even give me a walk-through of the facility. The guy was rude , didn’t show me the weights or anything like that.
Also, I got into a car accident and barely went. Still Paid! Then I started noticing that they were charging me more money each month I signed a contract. So we will be going over why that happened. They called today because my card was hacked and they wanted my new card card information and I said actually getting ready to cancel my membership because I never go in there. I actually feel more comfortable in planet fitness than I do in this facility. Some of the workers are rude,Today a girl called, She was trying to get my Credit card information over the phone. I said no we are coming in to cancel so we can figure that out when we come in. I said I don’t give credit card information over the phone and we’re coming in to cancel. I believe I am done with my contract! Waste of money in my personal opinion! Yes they have a pool and some classes but they are always super packed.
Just received a text implying we could come in before 8pm to discuss. I said no we will come in tomorrow or when we’re ready. Here is a picture of them kinda telling me this right after the phone call. I wrote them saying I want to cancel etc.they are open till 8 like my husband is going to just leave work to go talk to these people! Lol No! Please Don’t waste your money here! It’s packed and they are kinda rude! I am going back to Planet Fitness!!! Way cheaper, less people and they are probably friendlier!

Apparently bikinis are banned here—but only if you look good in one. My girlfriend got kicked out of the pool for wearing what every other woman was wearing, just because the staff and a few pearl-clutching moms couldn’t handle it. If fragile egos and selective morality are your thing, you’ll love it here.

So far have loved my experience here. Don’t love the price, but love all the amenities and classes! I feel like the front desk is usually really attentive and kind, however I went to get a smoothie and a young girl was asked to help me. Seemed very very put off and didn’t have great customer service! Just a little immature. I don’t expect much, but just wasn’t super pleased considering I’ve had the best customer service every other time! I really have loved my experience so far though.

I explored multiple gyms in Utah as I travelled and this was my least favorite. I’m not a fan of the layout of the rooms and where the equipment is. It felt very tight and crowded. Lots of cardio equipment which I feel is usually pretty unnecessary at a gym. Not a ton of variety in machines and it was hard to get everything in that I wanted to. I felt like I was in the way of other people due to the tight space.

Was really looking foward to using the steam room and it wasn’t turned on. That happens often. I went to ask the ladies at the front desk if they could get it turned on and they shrugged it off and didn’t help. Very disappointed in this whole experience especially for the price of the gym membership.

Updating my review because things have improved so much! A while back, I mentioned some issues with cleanliness and the steam room, but I’m happy to say that’s no longer the case. The gym feels fresh and well-maintained again, and the friendly front desk staff makes it an even better experience. It’s great to see management listening and making positive changes—huge thanks for that!

Great place to workout without feeling under pressure. There are a lot of equipment that you can use for any type of workout.
SARC is fantastic!
The front desk staff are so nice and can help with any questions you might have. Always fresh clean towels to use.
The membership staff can answer any questions you might have about SARC and can help you set up a membership to have other great activities.
My favorite thing about Sports Academy is that they are happy to help you find what you are looking for in working out or just relaxing. You can enjoy a nice swim in the outdoor swimming pool, or the indoor one, they have a tennis building for those who are interested in learning tennis or practicing for any tennis competitions, they have Dance, Aerobics, and Pilates for those who are interested. They also have staff to help out with learning what type of workout works best for you.
They are open everyday unless it's a national holiday.

They don't nearly have enough weight benches for the amount of people trying to use them. Also, there is often not enough mirror space for the crowd this big. The locker room is small, cramped, and packed with people. The front desk staff is usually very friendly at least. Membership is expensive for the experience.
Updating my review: Seems like they listened and made improvements since. They replaced all the weight room equipment and the cardio room equipment as well. Now there are enough benches! Great job! I bet that made a lot of people happy! The gym is a lot better now. Two more things I know a lot of people would like: Create times for the outdoor pool when only adults are allowed (there are just way too many kids and it is out of control) or make a kids section and an adults section. And somehow try to ventilate the back room where the squat racks are a little bit better, it gets way too hot in there. Also crank up the AC a little more in the weight room as well.

I have been a member here for years off and on. There is just not a local gym like it that exists in the valley that offers a variety of services and conveniences. I may pay more than a planet fitness membership, however I have more available to me, such as gym to play hoops, racquetball, tennis courts, swimming pools, hot tubs, personal lockers, showers, and saunas. I get my moneys worth.
Additionally they have great costumer service and are friendly and welcoming. Membership has always worked with me and I want to give a shout out to Jeremy and Patrick. Thanks for giving me and my family a positive experience.
Their weights and equipment are updated and the environment feels very clean and professional. They have a kids club that is very reasonable price to watch your children when you want to work out.
They have a variety of dance classes to choose from. My wife has been involved in Zumba and had a blast. She tells me Barre dance is a work out but she likes the results from it.
I love that the Sports Academy additionally offers personal trainers. Greg and Derrick here are exceptional! Lastly I love they have many fitness programs and sports activities for the whole family. My daughter participated in gymnastics and she loved it. We plan on swims lessons here.
The only thing that may be an issue here is space to do your workout and parking availability in busy times of the year. I don’t know how that will be solved, or if there are any expansion plans, but I have managed to get in and get out as needed for the most part and the result is I still keep coming back.
This gym in my opinion is not just for the individual, but for the whole family and I would recommend the sports academy to anyone! If you want to invest in yourself and well being the Sports Academy is the place to achieve it!

We’ve been going to this gym for over five years now so we obviously love it. Here’s some nitty gritty:
Pros: nice locker rooms, updated equipment with everything I need, love the functional training room, friendly staff, we love using the pool all summer, classes are awesome (especially Jaynee, Tori, and Brittany’s), I used to utilize kids club and it was so cheap and convenient.
Cons: it can get busy during certain hours, parking can be a nightmare (people really need to quit parking on the road too), and it’s time to update the outdoor pool. Some of the other members can be rude but thats not fair as a reflection on sports academy, but maybe gym etiquette could be reviewed when signing on and posted in different areas of the gym?

I searched for 10 years to find a pool with adult swim lanes. Finally with my added Medicare plan I was able to go to Sports Academy and Racquet Club, and do laps. I also work out on their amazing machines before I swim, and last week the OUTDOOR lanes opened, and I am in ecstasy! Already lost 10 pounds just being dedicated to going 3 times a week! Swam at Gold’s gym before moving and they promised to build ( now Vasa) in Logan, Utah. But COVID hit and they pulled out! I was so upset!! Now this has worked out. Sports Academy keeps their machines REALLY updated, is a very clean facility except when customers leave shavers in the showers! Most patrons are very good about cleaning up after themselves. The swimsuit drier is kept in working order and custodial staff on the ball. They are the best gym I have ever gone to. And I am 75… been to many.

I have gone to Sports Academy for many years I lost count. I go to both the North and South Locations. I have done all the things. I grew up going to preschool there taking, gymnastics, swimming lessons, and getting massages. I have even worked there at one point during high school. I have since got married and have had a baby. I did Pilates my entire pregnancy and now 3 months postpartum. It’s been so good for me physically and mentally. I even get to do it with my mom, sister and grandma. It’s been so fun. Shelley has been training us for many years. She is the best. I love sports academy!! I would also like to add my husband wakes up every morning 5 am and hits the weight room before work.

MEMBERSHIP IS NOT WORTH IT .!!!! Is really expensive for the a few hours that you can get a day . EVEN KNOW THEY CHARGE YOU FOR DAYS!!! This place is constantly fixing and remodeling. I understand that staff need maintenance but is hard to know and to plan when you have some goals. This place is good but getting overcrowded. People in front desk and swimming is always amazing . This place is getting full and membership is a bit pricey for what you get!! Don’t come here there is not place for more people.

For having to constantly wait for cramped equipment and dirty pool lanes, and limited tanning, while “regulars” sit and talk for 20 minutes taking the already limited machines, this place is OBNOXIOUSLY over priced. I spend more time waiting for equipment than I do exercising. The staff is nice enough but plain flat out, this place is too busy. If you take your fitness seriously, this money grab is not for you.

The reason I choose 1 star is because a negative 10 is not an option. My four-year-old son is attending their preschool. My son got out of the building to the parking lot alone, and nobody was watching the door, the good thing is that his mom was still in the parking lot. She took him inside to understand how could that happen, and apparently, it was my son's fault. They have ZERO responsibility and high negligently.

Absolute trash management. They say they close at 10 pm but for tennis they will come kick you out at 9pm. When we tried to inform management of this issue, we never got a reply. There is no transparency on when they actually close their tennis courts. I don't know if they are incompetent or just don't care. Also, they keep their indoor courts extremely cold and never heat it even when we ask them!! I can see my own breath in there when I play which is absolutely ridiculous. Almost no different to playing outside. Do not go here if you can if you want a positive experience. Horrible business management and etiquette.

Good variety of equipment. As long as you plan to go at slower times doesn’t feel overly crowded.
Price is too high when compared to similar gyms in SLC , but they’ve got a monopoly in the valley so they can charge what they want.
I wish the bathrooms were cleaner. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t see the toilets looking like they’d just been destroyed. Maybe have cleaning staff check hourly, or install higher flow toilets to take care of the damage all the high protein diets are inflicting. It starts to smell at times.

Do not sign up for the swim classes. I signed my son up for the parent tot class in December. I was charged the initial $25 for the first class. I saw that they added dates for new classes starting 1/2/2024. Due to my schedule, I was trying to switch to the January class. It is impossible to get ahold of anyone related to the swim department. I left a voicemail, texted the number and sent them an email. I finally recieved an email from them advising that they could move me to the class starting 1/4/2024.
1/4/2023 came around and I was getting ready to leave work to get my son to this class. I happened to look at the website to check the address. As I was looking at the classes I saw that they were now showing the class start 1/9/2024. I was provided ZERO notice that the date had changed and would have shown up to no class today. I called and not shockingly was not able to get ahold of anyone that knows anything that the swim department is doing. I texted the number to my have listed and actually heard back confirming that the class session did not start until 1/9/2024. This place is not worth the headache. I asked for my refund and they said they would refund me however we’ll see if that happens.

They are no longer offering the Active Fit program through my insurance. Really bummed since it is the only place with a pool and gym.
I do not think it is worth $100+ a month for a membership. Cache Valley needs a Rec center like Provo does. That have more to offer kids, and is not super expensive for a membership. But, the owners of SARC keep buying people out so that does not happen. Fitness should be for everyone. Not just those who can afford a $300+ start fee.
Also, your site is confusing and needs more help. Super confusing to use.

We were charged $50 back when we signed up for the preschool early this year, which was part of the sign up fee. We canceled in April when we found out we were moving, and they wouldn’t refund us for the preschool even though it was 4 months before the preschool started.
We were actually fine with this at the time, because we understood it may not have been refundable, but then today they charged us $200 (now September), when we received email confirmation that Summer was taken off the list. So they took her off the preschool list but not the billing list. So we are out $250, without having ever attended, nor can we attend, the preschool.

I love Sports Academy. I go 3-5 times a week and have been for a bit. I’m always greeted with a “Welcome in!” each time I come in.
I think they do a pretty good job of maintaining the equipment. Stuff breaks here and there but it never seems to be down for long.
I appreciate all the squat racks and cross training equipment that they’ve added in the back. It’s a huge value add in my opinion. The turf in the back with the sleds in a nice touch, too.
Their cardio room has a few iFit treadmills that have really fun workouts programmed into them. Same with one of their stationary bikes. It makes cardio a lot less grueling to do on those machines.
The biggest think I appreciate about Sports Academy is that I feel like they have everything you need. Free weights, machines, squat racks, kettle bells, cardio equipment, cables, battle ropes, etc. Any workout you want to do you can do here.
Great place!

I live here part time at the moment since I’m from Salt Lake City so I come with my partner through his buddy pass. He comes to this spot because allegedly Logan doesn’t have a good selection of facilities and this seems to be preferred by the residents here. This gym isn’t really a gym but more like a family rec center. The entire place and all equipment is old and outdated. There is one single room for weight training which is quite small and they’re so limited on weights and machines. Because they don’t have a database or don’t provide tags for guests they have you fill out a form in their guest book every time you come in. They’ll pull your number from that form and will relentlessly text you asking you to get a membership. I have repeatedly told them no but they would persist to still contact me so I had to block that number. In the salt lake valley we have countless newer gyms all much bigger and nicer with the same or more amenities for $10-$20 a month. I just checked the membership packages online and they charge an absolutely insane $65 a month for a single membership. They are so very out of touch with what they have to offer and what they’re charging compared to other popular gym chains!

In the locker rooms before you go I'm there is a sighn alerting parents to not bring your kids in. It's 16 years and older and every time, there are kids in the hot tub, running in and out of the steam room and sana. Running into woman around the corner. I have gotten to the point that I don't even enjoy the spa treatment that we pay extra for and don't get to enjoy. If this keeps up I'm walking around naked in there to make the moms that bring there 10 year old sons in there to make them feel uncomfortable.
To the owners and managers, it is your job to hold up to your rules on spa and gym rules. I don't bring my boys in out of respect for other woman using the spa locker room. I know as a mother of 2 that that is our time to relax and destress. I know I am not the only woman who feels this way because we have vented about it before.
Please take care of this

The experience at Sports Academy doesn’t justify the price. There isn’t enough equipment for the number of people in the gym at most times of the day. A lot of machines are worse for wear, with worn handles, peeled-off weight labels, or broken pin cables. This place is very unprofessional! I’m sincerely disappointed. After attempting to play at the tennis courts 3 TIMES!!! But no due to their unprofessional employees with poor communication. They need to make it more clear to make reservations or have a limited time you can have a tennis court for each group. The young lady at the front desk told us go right ahead to the courts. After wasting our time we found out there was the kids tennis lessons using the courts and we would not be able to use the courts until 9 PM that night. What a disappointment. There was also a paper on the front door the recommended you wear a mask. RECOMMEND??!!! NO! It needs to be required. There was maybe a couple of people besides us that were wearing a mask. Do not recommend.

The treadmills tend to skip on you while you are running which is a big hazard of hyper extending a knee or worse injury, and if they weren't skipping they were out of order.
The pools are pretty murky and usually have leaves/Band-Aids floating around. But we did spend many good times there with our daughter.
However, before ending my membership they did an update to the second basketball gym which I did appreciate and used often. The locker rooms also went through a nice remodel as well.

Multiple review
Front desk. 5/5 real good over this year
Staff, life guards. 5/5 very nice and helpful
Lifting area. 4/5 sometimes seems crowded but multiple areas if you change up your routine.
Tennis courts. 4/5 mostly due to some over draft with leaves and dust coming over the fences.
Gymnastic. 5/5 good teachers facility nicely kept
Trainers. 4/5 some perfect, some unable to handle there schedules properly.
Pool. 2/5 outdoors closed due to algae or cleaning or both multiple times. Indoor not always tempered well for kids multiple times during the week. Hot tub does the job. ( pool Most important due to being my kids favorite)
Basketball 4/5 crowded often, but the old Court is a nice area to lift now for multiple new workouts.
Massage 5/5 tried many between wife and myself no complaints well done.
Affordability. 2/5 expensive for the average family, but if you can it's very nice in the none peek hours when everything is a good or perfect condition
Average 3 out of 5 for whole gym after 1 year use.
Thanks for reading..

Doing far too little to address the coronavirus pandemic. Group classes in full swing, no mask requirements for staff or guests, and no realistic way to enforce such standards.
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice gym. It's just also a Covid-19 hotspot.

+ Friendly Front Desk workers
+ Good facilities!
+ Red Zone Training is awesome
- signing up felt like a sales racket
- I would HIGHLY recommend if you sign up with them that you do what I did and lie about your social security number when they ask for it. There are ZERO reasons a gym needs that, and no gym has ever me asked me for it before. DO NOT GIVE THEM this information. I highly doubt the data storage process they use is even remotely safe/encrypted/secured and you do not want to be the next person who get's their identity stolen from a GYM of all places. Seriously.

I love this gym!! They have everything you’d ever need for any workout, and they provide wonderful, extremely affordable, childcare for my baby.
They do have the option to do a flat out year long, upfront contract instead of month to month. If you’re the type of person that might forget to cancel your monthly membership, I recommend doing the yearly contract! I can’t say enough good things about the sports academy. Joining this gym and going often has changed my life.

Sports Academy is a dishonest, bottom-line, scum company. When we signed up we were told that we would receive notice before it was time to cancel our membership. We never received the notice and they have no documentation of ever sending it. Reguardless of if it’s written in the contract or not, they obviously do not care about people like they claim to. The fact that we gave money to a company as deceitful as this is frustrating. We will now ALWAYS be sure to let people know Sports Academy is a terrible choice because they take advantage of people.

When I first signed up with them they rushed through the contact information and when I asked about cancelling they brushed through it and made it seem really easy. The facilities are really nice and I like the gym itself. I do think they over stack it. Every time I went in it was always packed. But, when it came time where I needed to cancel, the membership department never answered the phone and when I left voicemails they never responded. After two months of trying to get a hold of them I had to tell the front desk everything that was going on and that she better get me to someone who can take care of it. I was able to talk to someone and he told me that it was really simple. All I had to do was email a response to an email he was going to send me and it would be all over. Low and behold after two weeks I got another charge on my card. I called in multiple times with no answer. After the third try they got on the phone with me to tell me that once you state that you want to cancel you have to continue paying for 2 months. This was not explained to me while we sat down and rushed through the contract. It is so much easier to just go with someone else. They make everything 10 times harder and 10 times more expensive than any other gym here in Utah. Absolutely ridiculous customer service.

Facilities are nice but don't sign a long-term contract. Their terms and conditions are written so they get extra money regardless if you actually use their services. Cancellation process is a nightmare and don't even think about trying to transfer your contract to someone who's even thought about being a member before. If you're going to get a membership, make it month to month or you will get robbed.

I enrolled in a membership and about 5 months into the contract, my mother was given weeks to live. I then had to move out of Cache Valley to take care of her. Do not go here!!

My 1.5 year with Sports Academy has been disappointing. There is a clear need for studio access, yet they keep them locked up except for classes. As a result, dancers practice in the racquet ball and basketball courts.
Random people can access the ice machine, the same machine where they get ice for their smoothies. I've seen people spill whatever is in their bottle while filling ice, but staff don't even bat an eye.
Several other things makes the place feel impersonal. The place doesn't really care, you're just another bi-monthly payment in the system. That's the vibe I got. If I weren't invested with other gym-goers, I would have chosen to go elsewhere.

If you're looking for a place to lift wieghts, keep on looking. They added free weights almost as an after thought, which is funny, because that's what most people do when they go there. There's only two squat racks, one decent leg press, so if you want to do legs, you basically have to go after 10pm when the crowd dies down.

Pros: Gym is great for the most part! Equipment is old and the gym is very crowded - however everything works and the people using equipment are generally nice.
Cons: $44 a month for a student to use the free weights???????? We need more options for gyms in Logan... Way too expensive for what you get.
Also, you have to give 2 MONTHS notice before you cancel??? If my job only needs 2 weeks, why does my gym need 2 months? Oh, because they’re trying to get me locked into contract again.
Overall, pretty poor experience here. I wouldn’t recommend joining although there aren’t many options in Logan so if you do join; be sure to read the contract.

The gym itself is very nice and they have some good programs for the kids. However, their contracts are a trap! We met our one year contract and upon deciding that we no longer wanted to be part of the gym due to cost and we tried to cancel. We were told that we could cancel but they required a 60 day cancellation notification. Good luck finding that on your contract, apparently it is a verbal notification. As such be prepared to billed for two additional months after you try and cancel.

The Sports Academy is one of the better multi-activity gyms in the area. They really strive to have something for everyone regardless of age and activity level. Their personal training staff is very friendly and the equipment is pretty up-to-date. It's kept pretty clean, for a gym, and I've always preferred coming here over other gyms. I sometimes wonder if/when they'll look into a bigger facility but for now it works.

No complaints about the gym. There are two basketball courts (they only schedule one of them out) and I can play whenever. the club really isn't as busy as people make it seem to be. Staff are rude. Whenever we wanted to use the indoor swimming pool, we couldn't because they had swim meets or classes going on. It seems like they don't care about their members. Locker room showers are dirty and they don't enforce keeping children out of the adult locker room well. Several times my wife would be changing in the locker room and other women would come in with young male children up to about age seven. Not appropriate for a womans locker room. Gym equipment is left sweaty and dirty by other members and it does not appear that gym staff clean the equipment often. Over priced gym for what it offers. The only way to get out of your membership is to prove you are moving away. Would recommend Planet Fitness over this gym as it is much more clean and we'll maintained with friendly staff.

If you want a place to play basketball, look elsewhere. Sports academy contracts the main gym to preschool, zumba, kickboxing, and kids basketball camps. It is booked out during the day, about 75 percent of the time. If you want to play after 7pm it is always open, but for people like me who only can come in the mornings you are out of luck. I feel like they put their members second.
I have spoken to management about this issue, and they pretty much told me to piss off.
The weight area is usually way too crowded too.
On the plus side, the locker rooms are nice, but im not paying $70 a month for a nice locker...

Gym facility is great, the problem I have is with the contract agreement. We were under the impression that we signed up for a ONE YEAR membership. We paid in full Nov. 2015, for the year of 2016. So we were under the impression when that transaction was completed we would not have a gym membership for the year of 2017 because we did not sign a contract for this year!!
Well as few days ago with out a recent notification (within 6 months prior) Sports Academy withdrew 850$ out of our account. We only had 700$ in checking leaving us with a -150 balance with rent being due (530$) the same exact day.. Now we have a fine from the bank, on top of getting our money taken from us.. We looked through emails through these past years and found one stating this would happen dated DECEMBER 2015 ( a month after we signed up ) and the withdrawal was FEBRUARY 2017.. Who keeps an email that long, and who thinks about a cancellation policy a month after you sign up?? Way to cover your butts!
We have been told to contact different people and they have yet to get the process started for a refund that may or may not happen in two weeks.... They also stated we will have to pay 2 months membership for the year we didn't sign up for!!

The equipment is good but their contracts are a trap: Though you cannot find it anywhere on the membership page you are required to give 60 days notice of cancellation and if you want to rejoin they charge you $75. Since they charge your card twice a month for some reason it is hard to explain why it would take 60 days to cancel your contract. The plan of course is prevent you from using the gym ala carte. I guess this is fine if you are a heavy user but not so much if you want to use it seasonally. They should have more options.

I received charges for 3 months of Sports academy services I did not use or ask for after Golds gym sold my account to them upon closing. Long story short, Sports Academy and its management refused to reimburse me and seemed to have a written script for someone with my same complaint, apparently it has happened before Im assuming then? I spoke with the store manager on the phone (Dan?) he was very unprofessional and offensive. Both upper management and the company itself are haughty and push around the "little man" and have a "we dont need you attitude". I saw no customer value, integrity, ethic value or company pride demonstrated with my multiple experiences with them. They were not sorry in the least bit that they had inconvenienced me and stole my money.

Through the years, I've participated in swim lessons, tennis lessons and camps, personal training, working out on my own, among other activities. Through all of this, I've only had the highest opinion of the Sports Academy. The staff are all happy, friendly, encouraging, and helpful. In particular, Patrick Bell and Derrick Harper have been really good guys to train with, both helping me work towards the results I want. On the tennis side of things, the courts are always clean, the coolers full of cold water, and the tennis staff are great too, Lucas being a great teacher.
