My daughters, son, and I adore STEPS! The positive culture is unmatched. My eldest has been going there for 3 years now and not only has she become a beautiful dancer, but she has also learned positive life lessons and made wonderful friends along the way. We first tried steps when she was 3 for a princess class; we loved it but we had other studios closer so we went with somewhere else. However after negative experiences elsewhere, we decided the welcoming and positive atmosphere from STEPS is well worth driving a little further. Everyone is so welcoming and kind! Thanks Susie for not only helping shape beautiful dancers, but beautiful people as well!

We have gone to steps for four years and it is such an amazing dance studio!! Every teacher has been so kind and patient with the kids and they do such cute, fun things in class that keep children engaged and excited. My girls have learned SO much dancing with steps and I’ve really seen their skills improve over the years, especially so when they were part of Teams. One thing I especially love about Steps is how the owner of the studio, Sue, places a lot of importance on not just becoming an amazing dancer but also teaches the girls vital life skills such as good sportsmanship, strength of character, and positive mindset. I love that it is a place where my girls have learned to dance AND have learned these other skills they will use and carry throughout their lives. Five stars!!

A had told a friend about this studio & she reached back out after reading a negative review, I had to look it up because I was so confused.
I am about as Momma Bear as they come and I know not every personality may fit one studio but if there was a studio that would be able to pull that off - it would be this one.
The studio director, the teachers, all the staff, & even the other moms are truly so kind, helpful, & supportive.
I had never danced, never been part of the dance world. The only reference I had was the TV show Dance Moms - & I could never handle being in or around such a toxic place. So when my daughter wanted to try dance and thrived in it - I was thrown into a world I knew nothing about and was honestly really nervous about being able to support her (she just turned 6yo).
Every single mom was willing to help with any questions for things I didn’t understand, teachers have been so patient with my daughter who struggles with ADHD & auditory dyslexia. The front desk staff walked me through fixing payment issues online because I’m technology challenged.
If that wasn’t enough to ease my fears the core of the teaching for the studio is unbeatable. They are not going to allow toxic behavior, disrespect, body shaming, or negative self talk. This applies to other teams at competitions. Our studio is right there at the stage cheering for other teams, teams we are competing against, because they know how important it is to teach kids to support each other , be kind, to know someone is rooting for you and that being a winner doesn’t always mean 1st place.
I have to say I have met every single teacher there and if anything - they are too nice! Haha
My daughter told me a teacher was mean once after dance, I asked her more questions to figure out what happened, (this was not the same teacher as the negative post as she is older than that age range) but what I found was - the teacher wasn’t mean, she was holding my daughter accountable for her actions- she was talking and not following instructions. My daughter and I talked through what happened and I followed up with her after the next class with that teacher - no issues - couldn’t stop talking about how fun the class was.
I am so grateful we found this studio. The confidence it has given my daughter, the way she lights up when the older girls cheer her on or congratulate her on mastering a trick or sequence, we have found a true tribe that values us as individuals here and I hope people will come visit and try the studio to see for themselves how great everyone is!

We recently moved to the area and started bringing my daughter to this studio. Shes only 4. She used to love dance in our old area. There was never any issues. Since coming here, she started to hate dance. Her teacher always had a comment to make about her every time I came to pick her up. The teacher also started giving out special papers for two kids each week to get an extra treat or prize, she told the kids that this was for the kids that listened tbe best and were the best behaved. I heard her say this and do this every single week. My daughter never got chosen for this. It ruined her self esteem, she started coming home from dance saying that she was a “bad person”. Also, I could never even watch her dance because there was so many kids in the class that the window was overcrowded and I could never see in. There wasn’t any room for me to sit down either and I have a baby. Finally I emailed to cancel classes at the beginning of October, I sent several emails over the course of 2 weeks and never got a response. Weeks later after not bringing her the owner reached out and asked where my daughter was. I told her we were cancelling classes and no one had ever replied to my emails. She gave me a number of a woman named Sue to reach out to. This woman was extremely rude and was gaslighting me. She told me that the teacher is the nicest teacher ever and she would never hand out a special thing to some kids and not others. I was livid. She basically was calling me stupid. I know what I saw and heard. This was happening EVERY WEEK. And was effecting my daughters mental health. She also tried to force me to pay for October and November months even though I reached out at the beginning of October to cancel. Very sleezy place trying to just get money. They don’t care about the girls at all. This woman Sue was so incredibly rude to me I couldn’t even believe it. I’m a very soft spoken understanding person. It’s very hard to make me angry but this woman did it. I can’t believe the level of gaslighting. Do not take your kids here. I just know they’re going to reply to this and try to make some excuse or say that I didn’t go to this place or make me seem stupid. Believe who you want.

Edit to add: I was also told that my account was cancelled, but lo and behold I just got an email saying that they once again tried to charge me for the month of November and it didn’t process/go through. Luckily my husband was smart enough to go on our account a few days ago and take off our other cards and put a card on there that is cancelled! He knew this slimy place would try to charge us again even though they said our account was cancelled.

My young granddaughter had a negative experience here. The teacher treated her like she was unimportant. My granddaughter, who enjoyed dance at another studio, asked to quit because of being singled out as "bad." The teacher showed unprofessional favoritism.

This dance studio is too good to be true.

I can’t say enough good things about this dance studio. The Crowther family, the owners, run such a positive atmosphere for dancers of all levels.

You just have to meet them for five minutes to see how their temperament is perfect for a positive environment yet still capable of competing at a really high level. These guys are total professionals and you will love them. I can’t speak highly enough of this dance studio.

You won’t be disappointed.

It's fine if you just want something close for kids to play around. But there is serious favoritism not only among the students but classes as well. Costumes, pictures, rehearsals and more often not planned well enough in advance and you can plan on problems. Also not impressed with their coaching style of the ones we had. Very laid back and didn't seem to care or encourage students success.

We have been a part of the STEPS family for going on 5 years now, and have experienced most everything they have to offer!

My oldest boy has a learning disability, but has grown so much being a part of the all-boys Ovation Hip Hop team here the last few years. I never thought he would be confident with anything! He also has started to come out of his shell with tumbling and break dancing. When he was younger, he really enjoyed taking the Musical Theater and Ballroom classes that are sadly no longer offered.

My middle girl started with the preschool program when she turned 3. Now she has grown from the Mini classes (3-5) to the dance team to hip hop and tumbling. Poor girl has inherited my awful coordination so the tumbling, although challenging, has been great! She started out super shy with crazy stage fright, but now even competitions don't phase her.

This fall my youngest is 3 and ready to join in. We just started her in the preschool program and she is also taking the Mini ballet class as well. I can't wait to watch all my kiddos perform this year in the winter recital!!

I also appreciate the summer camps and classes they offer to keep my kids close to their friends and active all year round. :)

The environment is fun and upbeat but who ever is running the business does not respond to emails or phone calls. It is super frustrating when you get a costume for your child and it doesn't fit and you can't get through to anyone for help.

I didn’t even know where to start when I started looking at dance studios for my daughter. I finally decided to sign my daughter up for Steps. I called a few days before her class started and to my surprise the studio director(Susan Crowther) answered the phone. She was super helpful, she put my mind at ease and told me not to stress out. My daughter was in the class she was teaching. She’s an amazing teacher/mentor. Steps has the best teachers.
A year later and we’re still going to Steps! Steps has a family atmosphere and everyone helps everyone! We love Steps and wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else.

I've never actually attended any classes at this studio but I have some friends that teach/learn here. There is a definite difference between those who have danced at a studio and those who have not. We enrolled our daughter in Steps in the fall of 2017. It was one of the best decisions ever! Sue is the owner of the studio and she also teaches a few classes which is nice because usually some owners just sit behind the scenes. The studio has a family atmosphere so you are never uncomfortable there, whether you are a dancer or a dancers parent. We love Steps and will continue to enroll our daughter there!

Steps is such a great studio! My daughter has been taking dance here for 5 and a half years. It is such a good family friendly environment that teaches so much more then dance. Sue the owner pours her heart and soul into her studio, it is truly her passion. All the instructors are amazing and help these little dancers become the best they can be. One of my favorite things about Steps is that all the dancers of all different skill levels are so encouraging to each other. Even during competition events they cheer for, and give compliments to the other studios. If you are looking for a place for your son or daughter that is passionate about dance, and values come in and check out Steps, you won't regret it!

Great place. My girls love it. My wife loves it--she might even get me to try a ballroom dance class (she loves to dance but pretty much gave up the chance to dance with her husband 14 years ago to marry a person to uptight to dance). My little girls love the teacher and it is a clean wholesome environment that instills self confidence and responsibility!

The owner has a passion for life and dance and for creating art in and inspiring way! Highly recommend.

Every time I pick her up from steps she is always so excited to show me what she learned and show off her moves. I honestly give all the credit to sue she takes her time teaching these little kids, and just knows how to make them come out of their shell and shine! If I could take away stars I would, this teacher is horrible!!! she decided to single out my 3 year old grand-baby because she was not "being good" to her standards and gave everyone except her a sucker on two sessions in a row, the way she handled it was inappropriate and completely rude, I expected more from a dance teacher who teaches little toddlers, very disappointed with the way she handled things.
