We always love Swim Kids. My baby loves it and even starts singing "the babies in the pool go up and down..." at home, which is pretty impressive for a 1 year old! Emily especially is fantastic, and the front desk people are always super friendly and helpful.

I'm writing this review to warn others regarding unauthorized billing by SwimKids.
On June 6, 2025, two $250 prepaid lesson packages were purchased using our credit card on file with SwimKids for a total of $500. This purchase was not authorized by us and no receipt was sent to our email address on file.
On prior occasions (including at least July 30, 2024 and Oct 3, 2024), we had made purchases with SwimKids and received email receipts. The fact that no receipt was issued for the unauthorized purchases is concerning, but the way SwimKids treated us was perhaps even more concerning.
I called SwimKids regarding the unauthorized purchases. I expected them to be grateful that we had flagged improper billing on their end so they could fix the issue and avoid similar billing mishaps with other customers. Instead, I was told they could not issue a refund. I spoke with a supervisor who also refused to issue a refund. I asked to speak to her manager and was told I would be contacted later.
On Oct 23, 2025, I followed up because I had not been contacted. I was told that the matter was being looked into further.
On Oct 28, 2025, the manager called and notified me that they had confirmed the IP address used to make the purchase on June 6, 2025, was the same IP address used to make previous purchases on the account and that no refund would be issued. I reiterated that we did not authorize the purchase and never received a receipt of the transaction. The manager acknowledged that no receipt had been sent. I asked to speak with the CEO. The manager said she would forward my request to the CEO.
As a side note, IP address logs alone do NOT prove a transaction was authorized by the end user. First of all, many networks route multiple people through the same public IP, so different users/devices look identical. Apps behind proxies/CDNs can also record a proxy or stale “last known” IP rather than the IP of the device that clicked “Pay.” Billing platforms also usually support merchant-initiated charges that run server-side, and poorly designed systems may attach the customer’s last login IP to those events, creating a false impression of consent.
On Nov 5, 2025, I followed up because I had not been contacted by either the manager or the CEO. In response, I was told that the "executive team" had confirmed that the decision to not issue a refund was final. I requested that the CEO reach out to discuss the matter further. SwimKids confirmed that my contact information had been provided to the CEO. To date (Nov 11, 2025), the CEO has not reached out. We no longer feel comfortable attending SwimKids due to how we have been treated and hope our experience will encourage others to find alternatives where the business owners and managers are more concerned with their customers than with pocketing a few unearned dollars.

Our girls have progressed very rapidly here. Our 5 year old is already swimming independently and our 3 year old can float and roll back on her own so we're very pleased with the results!

This space was clearly designed by a mama! I love the lobby for kids to play in while waiting for other siblings— no TV! I love that the bathrooms are visible and built for children. The swim instructor was positive and my kids loved her.

Two of my kids took swim lessons here and we really loved it! The facility is well thought-out. I loved having the play area separate from the pool so my other kids could safely play while their sibling had lessons. Lots of changing areas, bathrooms, showers, etc. Staff were great—my son especially loved working with Courtney, but all the teachers were great and there’s someone for every kid’s personality.
May seem expensive but the quality of the lessons are excellent. The one-on-one 15 minute lessons enabled my kids to learn much quicker than they did during group lessons at a public swimming pool, where they are grouped with about 15 other kids and the teachers are hit-or-miss.

So many good things to say! First and foremost as a mom of littles I appreciate the efficiency. We did the fast track program and saw our three year old go from no experience to independence in the pool in about a month’s time. Amazing to me! I appreciate the confidence they instilled in my daughter from the get go and will plan to enroll my future kids in the program.

This place was really nice and clean. I took my 2 year here for a month of swim lessons. They have snacks and other things you can buy. They have a kids play area in the lobby. They have nice changing rooms, bathrooms and showers. The pool is also nice and the temperature of the pool is great. The only thing is, every time we came they never did anything different. The class was the exact same thing every time. I wish they would switch it up a little bit.

Definitely would recommend! I love how they teach how to be safe in the water before teaching strokes. Staff are very helpful/responsive. I love the feedback from their coaches after every lesson. I have 3 kids ages 5-9 and they all started at level 3 and now they are all confident swimmers.
I also love their waiting area where my toddler can roam around during swim lessons.

We love SwimKids! My daughter has been swimming here for several months and despite being a reluctant swimmer has made progress. We really love Ashlyn. She has been a great instructor.
Update: We stopped going to SwimKids in spring of 2024 because every lesson for a month had a different instructor than we had signed up with. We got tired of seeing a new random instructor every time who didn’t know where my student was in the process. We will likely try again to use the rest of our punch passes but may not be back after. Our favorite instructors left in the spring and the turnover every lesson was too frustrating.

We got the punch pass for my 4 year old and I'm so happy with it. The instructors are super cute and they do a good job. I wish the punch pass lesson was longer than 15 min but honestly the instructors still pack a good amount of teaching into the 15. I will probably do another one for both my kids.

The general manager of this location is FANTASTIC and because of his prompt service and attentiveness. I will be returning to Swim Kids in the future! He helped me resolve an issue that happened at another franchise location next to my house when the GM there wasn't any help nor did they take responsibility for what happened. This GM didn't even need to do anything as it wasn't his franchise location but he did and I appreciate that!

Teachers cancel regularly, they normally have another teacher to cover and it works out. Beware of there 2 week notice cancel policy they will charge you $5 a child if anything less than 2 weeks notice is given. Pretty ridiculous when they cancel 2 hours before a lesson. Great concept terrible management.

The good: I feel like they have a great model to help kids learn swim safety which is what I was looking. And after 2 months my 2 and 4 year old who both hated getting water on their faces and had little water experience were getting in the water with no issue and could float by themselves reasons well!
The bad: I feel like what was lacking was consistency. The turnover rate in instructors was shocking and on top of that the instructors can switch shifts all with no warning for the parents. When you are paying good money for a 15 minute lesson and you show up to a new instructor who doesn’t know your kid and what skills they are good at and which ones they are working on I felt like the entire lesson was taken up with little to no improvement as they are both trying to get a feel for each other.
After my pleas to be notified before arriving if there was an instructor change so I could prep my 4year old went unanswered on multiple occasions I requested to speak with a manager and still after 3 weeks I haven’t been contacted and have been told they are unavailable when I try to call.

Waste of time and money. Cramped, dirty, overcrowded swim facilities. Different instructor everytime so the instructor did not know what had been worked on the lesson before, and there is no note tracking so the instructor can not go back and see what the previous instructor did. 15 minute lessons are not long enough most other places do 20-30 minutes. Good for this buisness though they must be racking in the dough with the constant revolving door of kids in and out of the pool.

I signed up my grandson for one on one lessons. The instructor always started a minute late and ended the lesson 2 mins early. When you pay $27.50 per lesson you expect them to be a full 15 minutes.

Wish the lessons were twenty minutes long, and that they focused on one thing at a time until the kids fully learn it (switching cost is a real thing - it's hard for kids to keep up with such frequent changes, and I know my kids have struggled with that), but the facility is phenomenal, and we absolutely love the instructors.

In June of 2021 a friend thought my daughter might enjoy doing swimming lessons with Savannah, I paid for the month in advance. I didn’t feel good about paying for the month in advance cause I wasn’t sure if my child was gonna like it she’s disabled. She has down syndrome, and she never even made it into the water because she got so anxious that she, well, the rest of it is kind of personal. I tried to reach out on Facebook to see if I could get credit for my other child. Instead favorite heard back I don’t really think that’s fair that all my money went to waste especially since my daughter didn’t even put 1 foot in the water. Let me know if this is fixable.
Please let me know what we can do to fix this let me know if this is fixable

Should preface lessons are quite expensive but if you have a little one who is scared of the water or struggles with swimming this is a great spot to start. The instructors are very patient and kind.
When we started my little one hated putting her face in the water. We chose to do the fast track route, 3 fifteen min classes per week. She has made a lot of progress and has become a great swimmer.
My only con is that sometimes the instructors will end the lesson a few minutes early which is a bit frustrating as you only get 15 minutes.

We have had an amazing experience! My daughter (4) was afraid to put her face on the water and in just a couple lessons had her face in the water and was kicking. She now practices putting her face in the water in the bathtub at home and finds it fun. The teachers are so positive and reinforcing and it is a fun and special atmosphere that has made learning to swim exciting and fun rather than scary. I work a rotating schedule at a hospital so I thought swim lessons would never work for my schedule but the punch pass has amazing flexibility and has been easy to coordinate and use. We have been able to pause for longer periods when we want to practice things at the pool with our family or when we are more busy. Worth every penny!

My son has been really scared of water, and is late to learning to swim independently. We decided to try the fast track with swim kids and I’ve been so impressed with how quickly he has progressed. He really likes and is comfortable with the swim teachers and that has helped a lot too. If your kid needs extra help Learning to swim I highly recommend coming to swim kids!

I hate to say it, but it’s essentially an indoor swimming pool with a few minimally trained high school students. I know it is a difficult business to get into but out of the places offering swim lessons, the cost was high here and the value low. We ended up going somewhere else with much better results. A lot of what you’re paying for is a water exposure experience indoors but not much actual safety or skills training. We paid for multiples lessons and didn’t feel like our little one learned anything beyond being comfortable having one ear in the water. Again, better offerings elsewhere for the same price.

My daughter loves going to swimming lessons here. The staff is patient, knowledgeable, and efficient. She went from a level 2 to 7 in 2 weeks of fast track. At first I was concerned because I felt she needed reminders and tips on breathing. I addressed this with her teacher and she was very receptive and helped her with this. The person at the front desk was able to help us in finding more upcoming lessons that will work with our schedule that I was unable to find online.
My only complaints are that it can get super noisy when they have baby/tot classes at the same time. It’s hard for kids to concentrate when babies are screaming the entire class and the pool is packed. Seats are often wet, would be helpful to have staff looking after things like that often and cleanliness.

I brought my twins here for the parent and tot lessons, so I would come twice a week, switching off which kid I would bring. We went through lots of teachers because they often switch and Jacey C was amazing. I didn’t have any scheduling issues and found that they were accommodating.
It’s cute if you want a fun activity. But just a heads up, they do the exact same thing every week. So we only ended up taking lessons for a month because I could do those same things with them at home.
The 3 stars is mostly because the pool was often dirty and very very loud. They do many lessons at one time, often with multiple screaming kids. Which is understandable but it would be nice to have separate parent tot times so that the tots don’t have to be frightened by screaming kids around them.

We like swim kids, the lessons are very good and efficient. However some of their policies are absolutely ridiculous! They expect a 14 day notice for a cancellation or lesson change. I just gave a full weeks notice and was charged five dollars. That is ridiculous! A week is more than enough. Life happens, schedule conflicts arise etc. And a week is plenty of notice. That is just another way to nickel and dime people who are already paying enough money for lessons. It would show more consideration and respect for patrons to have more realistic policies and expectations. I don’t know if anywhere else that is that ridiculous.

Jack is our favorite instructor and my kids ask to go swim with him all the time. I had one kid go from level 2 to graduating level 10 in just a few rounds of fast track lessons with Jack and my other kids still look forward to their lessons with him each week.

We love SwimKids and we love the swim instructor Jack! He has built my 2 year olds confidence in the water from 0-100. Every time we sign up for more lessons we sign up with Jack as the instructor.
The only reason I took away one star is because the setup and cleanliness of the facility isn’t the best.

Because of some Covid issues- we have had a different instructor each time which isn’t ideal but has given us a chance to meet many of the teachers here and they are all very positive and encouraging to my son who has been very hesitant about the water!

The fast track swim lessons here are great, but everything else about this place is a nightmare- scheduling, makeups, canceling, etc. They will charge you every opportunity they get, so beware. If you are scheduling individual lessons, it’s impossible to get with the same teacher consecutively. Which results in them taking the first 5 minutes of the (15 minute) class figuring out where exactly your child is at (they know the kids ‘level’, but they are at different stages within that level) and you don’t see much improvement. Also the makeups are ridiculous- they will only schedule a makeup class one week out, but you are required to cancel your class 2 weeks in advanced or you get charged a reschedule fee- how does that make any sense? Am I a frustrated customer, obviously. But this is my experience over the last 3 months coming here, I hope it can help someone in the future.

Heads up: they absolutely will NOT refund any amount you pay, regardless of if it’s a scheduling issue, to a broken arm. You won’t be able to speak with a manager at all. They are a decent place to go for swim lessons, the teachers are patient and kind, and my son has enjoyed it. However, as a parent I am very unimpressed with their refund policy. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I’ve lost about $200 to this policy and there’s “nothing” they can do about it. If you can find somewhere else to go, do that instead.

We haven’t started lessons yet, but I was SO impressed with their texting/calling system. I’m a busy mom and sometimes phone calls are hard with all the background noises, calendar checks, checking with family to see if sign up dates are good, finding payment methods and so on. I texted back and forth to get all my questions answered, for THEM to find all the open dates and time for me, addressed all my concerns, and all in a timely manor. Props to them for all the little ways they’re going the extra mile to help people out!!

I think Swim Kids is a little pricey but has a lot of potential to be great if you get a good instructor. If your child is comfortable in water already than maybe it doesn’t matter as much, but if they aren’t and your instructor doesn’t know how (or care to) adapt or make your child feel at ease then you won’t see a lot of progress in your kid’s swim abilities.
The only time slot we could book at the PG Utah location was for the evening and every single lesson our teacher looks so bored. She yawns through the whole lesson and doesn’t do much to connect with my kid. She is just going through the motions and when my kid is nervous to do something, she doesn’t try to approach it any other way. The first 4 out of 8 lessons were exactly the same - very little progress. I get that it’s a very physical job, but I’m paying a lot for these 15 minute lessons, so I wish I was getting 15 minutes of her best effort. Instead she cuts lessons off a minute early every time. For such short lessons I want that last minute!
We have a few lessons left, but I’d be surprised if we walked away at the end feeling like my kid actually knew how to swim.

The girl who reached out to me helped me sign up for classes very quick and easy. I appreciate that swim kids offers multiple times and teachers to help accomodate lots of kids. However, due to moving states, I had to cancel the lessons only a couple days later. Swim kids reached out to me after i dropped and was able resolve an issue with the payment. i appreciate their flexibility to help in those extenuating circumstances.

We have had a fantastic experience with SwimKids in Pleasant Grove and I would highly recommend it to others. We have worked with about a half a dozen instructors between my two children's regularly scheduled lessons and then makeups we've done from while we were on vacation and everyone has been great. Ky and Hailey genuinely seem to care for my 4 yr old son and he loves them. He's excited to see them and they are excited about his growth and progress. Allison has been so patient and kind with my 2 yr old son who despite loving pools with mom and dad has not been a fan of getting in at lessons. I have watched her with other younger aged kids who are also struggling and she's just the best. Occasionally she works the front desk at the time of my older son's lesson and she always greets them both by name. Scheduling on the app has been simple and convienent and I've had great customer service experience via text when the technology struggles. My younger son is in a fast track session and my older son is in several weekly recurring lessons as that was what worked best for our schedule when we signed up. Both options have worked great.

I never leave reviews, but thought this would be important for a parent to read before registering their kids up.
We had a terrible experience with swim kids and I would HIGHLY recommend you not taking your kids here.
We signed up for the private lessons for our two year old during Covid because I was pregnant at the time and we were trying to limit exposure.
Our two year old daughter had a hard time with the class and instructor and cried the whole time she was in the pool. This was out of character for her because she swims happily all the time in California at her grandparents pool! Literally had never cried in the water before, and now we have to force her to get in.
We asked the instructor if my husband could just sit in the pool to calm her nerves. As soon as he got in she stopped crying and did what was asked of her. However; the swim instructor was not a great teacher.
The front desk lady then came to the pool and was extremely rude telling us he needed to get out.
They were not helpful with our circumstances and would not budge to accommodate our daughters needs. . They just said all they could do was to switch us to a mommy and me class which involved more people.
I called multiple times to try and get a refund and they would not give it to us. They would not even allow me to talk to their manager. They just said Christian and Quinn (the managers)had denied my request and would not talk to me about it. I asked for the managers number to talk about solutions with them and they wouldn’t give it to me. It was “private information”.
Again, go anywhere but Swim kids!

I have been so pleased with the progress my daughter made here . She learned to swim in three weeks , now she wants to compete. We take one private lesson a week , and she has a instructor that focuses on training for competitions. If that’s not your goal they have plenty of other instructors with different personalities and strengths , so you really can find the perfect fit for your kid . As long as my daughter loves swimming we will stay here .
