If you are looking for a gym filled with drama, gossip and an owner lacking in integrity, morals and authenticity, this is the place. Kyle (the owner) isn't who he pretends to be. In fact, he is lucky that many of those who have written five-star reviews don't know how poorly he talks about them behind their back.

Go to this gym at your own (or your loved one's) risk. This review is based on my own personal experience over the course of multiple years.

I joined Kyle's (The Bearded Trainer) gym over two years ago at the invitation of two good friends. It's been a fantastic experience -- Kyle is a thoughtful, knowledgeable trainer, with incredibly positive energy, a good sense of humor and unparalleled energy. He clearly loves what he does, is a continuous learner, and is attentive during the workouts, often giving us tips on ways to improve form, avoid injury, and achieve results. The gym is clean and well-kept. The equipment is great. And Kyle has built an awesome, positive, supportive community. So on top of filling my physical "cup" the workouts also add to my social one. Two+ years later and I can attest: my body has transformed, my health is stronger, injury-free (knock on wood) and I feel fitter at this stage of my life than ever before. I'm grateful to Kyle, his trainer-partners, and my two good friends who invited me to step out of my comfort zone a couple of years ago. I knew I needed a change. I've been a gym rat since I was 12 years old. After having 3 kids, it was harder for me to get motivated at the gym. Then...I met Kyle. I’ve worked out consistently for the last 15 years 4-5xs a week. I would often get lower back pain and joint pain in my hips and knees. I’d leave the gym not feeling like a pushed myself and stuck in the same routine I’ve always done.

Since switching to The Bearded Trainer I’ve noticed my strength increasing and pain is gone. The functional and weight training you receive not only has made me stronger but gone are the mornings of struggling to wake up with lower body pains. I really enjoy the mix of heavy weights and bands/body weight workouts.

The Bearded Trainer is perfect for everyone (like me) that needs a time, place, and workout plan to get a great workout in. All you have to do is show up and push it for each segment of the workout plan. I heard about The Bearded Trainer at a cold plunge/sauna facility that I used to help with anxiety. Since I've been working out with Kyle and his trainers, I have experienced the lowest anxiety levels I've had in a while and am feeling soooooo much better physically with the workouts and the nutrition tips Kyle shares! I have been attending the bearded trainer for almost four years. It’s the best. Kyle, and all of the trainers, are so helpful in explaining the workout routines and focus on proper form when lifting.

There are a variety of different workouts and those in attendance vary in age and exercise ability. Everyone is friendly and open to new attendees.

The way the trainers demonstrate the workouts every time helps ensure that you’re performing the workouts correctly. I highly recommend the bearded trainer.

The Bearded Trainer has been a great place for me. After my first baby 14 years ago, I started my fitness/weight training journey. It has helped me handle motherhood and life better and physically.

I've been going to the bearded trainer now for three years. I've tried a lot of different exercise programs over the years which only lasted a few months at best... until I went to the bearded trainer! Here is why I LOVE going and have stuck with it. 1.Structure- The workouts are laid-out by a professional trainer (Kyle) and demonstrated by the trainer before each work-out, then they're there to correct form etc. 2. I love working out with other people. If I were on my own, I know I wouldn't push like I do in the presence of other people and a trainer. I love the collective energy! 3. The variety of the equipment. We use sleds, ski, row, bike, kettle-bells, bands, jump-rope, body weight exercises, ropes, free-weights, medicine balls, kettle-bells, weighted bags, resistance bands, machine-weights...pretty much every type of equipment I know of. It all sounds intimidating and complicated now that I've named all the equipment, but it's not. The trainers demonstrated every exercise before every workout and then give individual help to assure the quality and form of each exercise.

I can't say enough good about this place. Really great people who are knowledgable about health. I would highly recommend this gym to everyone. There are young and old that come. Everyone uses weights/reps to cater to their own needs. It's a lot of fun!

Nothing but 💯% positive things to say about TBT (Kyle), Cassidy, the environment and the gym. Everyone treats you like family, pushes you and cheers you on.
I’ve tried every kind of gym from personal, club, gold’s, lifetime fitness to CrossFit. Nothing has provided me with the support or the results I have received in just 1.5 months. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for all these years.
I’ve been the same weight for almost 20years and haven’t been able to gain weight and tone more in my life than with TBT. I’ve gained 9lbs of muscle. Freakin mind blown 🤯.
Kyle was instrumental with providing me personal nutritional information/support in order to get the results I wanted.
I have a bad back and Kyle and Cassidy do an amazing job catering to my personal needs, allowing me to still get an amazing and sweaty workout each and every time without my back hurting me.

I joined The Bearded Trainer during the challenge. I was at an all time low and feeling like I’d never be confident in my body again being in my 40’s. Within 8 weeks I lost almost 6% body fat and 10lbs. I also put on great muscle mass and definition. I was going 2-3x per week. I was so impressed. Not only did I see my body change but also my classmates bodies transform. It speaks for itself. The classes are well thought out weight training sessions that target the whole body. I love how the classes are structured and the equipment is high quality! What I also gained from The Bearded Trainer is several friends and a community that is so encouraging and positive. Kyle (The bearded trainer owner) pays close attention and takes the time to be sure you are doing everything properly, so you really feel like you are getting personal training. He is so good at what he does. I am more confident in my body and have achieved several goals that I didn’t think I’d ever achieve. I cannot say enough great things about Kyle, the lead trainer and owner of The Bearded Trainer! I have tried other gyms in the past, from CrossFit, Orange Theory, Boxing gyms, and I always seemed to end up injured. I joined The Bearded Trainer with a sprained wrist and daily knee pain, and Kyle helped me every day to strengthen and cure my wrist and knees. Today I am the healthiest and strongest version of myself that I ever been in my life — with zero injuries! Started coming to this Gym at the beginning of April 2022. And it has been the best move I’ve ever made for my health. I’ve lost nearly 40 pounds in five months and put on 5 pounds of muscle.
I was an absolute beginner when I started but The two trainers, Kyle and Cassidy, always made me feel welcome and supported while I found my footing.
The classes are challenging but doing them with a group is a huge motivation, and you learn a ton of different exercises.
Cassidy’s nutrition coaching gave me clear goals that made it simple to lose weight and not feel like I was starving.
I paid for a $10 Gym membership for years and it never helped because I didn’t know what I was doing.
Going to a gym that is invested in your success is way more effective to reach your goals.

6 years ago, during my 3rd pregnancy I developed awful chronic pelvic pain that came on just walking. Even after my pregnancy my pain remained and I was no longer able to run (after having run 3 half marathons, this was really sad for me). Trying to find a diagnosis and a proper treatment plan, I did an MRI, along with seeing doctor after doctor with different opinions. One Doctor said I needed a vein oblation. I did weekly massages for 3 months along with physical therapy AND acupuncture (yes in my pelvis-it was not comfortable) weekly for 5 months with zero improvement and a LOT of money wasted! I was told to not do any training where it caused pain. I learned what triggered my pain ( walking for a long time and running and lunges, anything abductor related or even hamstring at times) and avoided doing those things whenever I could. Since I started really focusing building my strength in those areas that triggered my pain, along with making stretching and recovery a priority, I have noticed less and less pain when doing those triggering exercises. Focusing on the strength aspect of things has shown me more improvement in 10 weeks than any of the other medical and physical measures I was taking. I didn’t expect this outcome and honestly wasn’t even looking for a solution since I had accepted my chronic pain and dealt with it for so long. I am still so surprised I have been able to do the running and lunges with very minimal pain! I had accepted I would never run long distance again and after sprinting today I felt a sense of hope that I haven’t felt in 6 years.

Did drop-ins for about a week while on vacation (my sister is a member). Kyle impressed me with his first question (any injuries that we are working around?). Form corrections occured as needed and encouragement was dosed out appropriately. Workouts were varied but they do follow a phased/periodized approach. Had three different coaches over the period and none were bad. Vibe was good and the facility is clean with good equipment. If you find yourself in Orem or surrounding area, give them a try.

My experience with The Bearded Trainer has been life changing in the best way! As a person who has not worked out most of their life, I felt lost in other gyms. I didn't know what I was doing and it was easy to succumb to doubt about my goals. Like most people, I quit more times than I can count.

Kyle and his excellent staff have changed all that for me. They provide accessible workouts in a group setting where a professional trainer can direct and help you in exactly what to do. They go out of their way every day to ensure that my form is safe and effective. If I need help, they are always willing and able to provide what I need. They are friendly and anxious to hear your goals and concerns. They care about how fitness changes people's lives and it shows.

I noticed during my first week, which was free as a trial period, that the staff went out of their way to help me and make sure I was doing alright in every way. Even now, as a member, nothing has changed. They really care and want me to succeed.

The workouts designed by the staff provide structure and help me to learn more and more about fitness every day. However, they encourage you to modify and adjust to fit your needs. No need to feel pressured to perform right away, as you can tailor what is being asked of you with full support from the staff. The commitment to avoiding injury and making fitness a lifestyle really shows.

The community is open and accepting. It was easy to meet people and work together to make sure we were doing things right. I see many of the same people regularly and it makes for an excellent and supportive atmosphere. There are people of all ages and genders. No one is out of place, not matter where they are in their life or fitness journey.

The pricing is more than fair. There are classes at all hours and an open gym period every day except Sunday where you can access the gym. Pricing depends on the frequency that you come, but even the upper tier plans are accessible to most people. For the hands on learning you receive, and the planning and guidance towards your goals, it's a steal.

There are several other services you can employ for additional pricing, such as nutrition coaching, in-body scans, and personal training. These supplements are excellent and add to what the gym has to offer. I feel like I found a one stop shop for everything I need for my goals.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Come try a week for free and see how much it improves your life. You will fit right in :)

I am SO grateful for The Bearded Trainer! I am 58 years old and have never been one to workout or go to a gym. I never thought I would feel comfortable in one. I joined The Bearded Trainer’s two-month Comeback Challenge with and at the encouragement of my siblings. I am so glad I did! I am in better shape now than I have been for years. Fantastic experience. They start and end on time. They are very welcoming and challenging. The owner checks in with new members to make sure they are okay during the day after their first workout. They are very responsive to questions and are quick to offer alternate workouts for injuries. They have a good sized and clean facility with plenty of equipment. My husband and I went in for in in-body scan and analysis. Wow! The amount of information we got from a simple test was amazing! As a data person, I appreciated the way the Kyle broke it all down with us. He took his time to help us understand and to set some goals. For the price, The Bearded Trainer more than delivered! Kyle was relatable and friendly and professional. After our consultation, he even took some time to show us around his well-equipped facility and gave me some helpful training pointers. I tried his suggestions and then and there I did my first pull up! :) overall we were very impressed. We will definitely be back!

I have a really hard time seeing a review about this gym that expresses uncleanliness and dis-satisfaction. Since covid started the owners have been more than aware of cleanliness. The gym was crazy clean before covid... After... its next level. We all clean the equipment that is used immediately after use with a medical grade cleaner.
There’s a reason why the gym has stayed open. Everyone that works out here is like an extended family member to Kyle and Shallan. They genuinely care about each person and are aware of each of us. I know with Shallan’s nursing background and Kyle's attention to detail that we are as safe as possible when we are working out.
There’s zero “bro” culture at TBR. It’s the most inclusive gym you’ll find in Utah. Everyone encourages each other, there’s zero competition and egos get checked at the door.
It’s a dream spot if you’re genuinely wanting transformation.
I haven’t even touched on how incredibly talented Kyle is as a trainer. There is genius behind every workout. If he ever offers a personal training course, I’ll be the first to sign up. The workouts never get boring and you get stronger while laughing a little every class.
I couldn’t recommend the THE BEARDED TRAINER more!

I unfortunately can no longer recommend this gym. I have been going since it opened but over the last year have seen a side of Kyle "the bearded trainer" that I no longer agree with. One of those things being the fact that his large group classes and gym remained open during the full extent of COVID last year and this year. He never shut it down at any point. Many clients have reported positive COVID tests over the last year and yet the gym remained opened. Mask wearing was never strictly enforced although some clients did wear masks when working out. This among a few other issues that I won't get into here, have made me realize this is not a good workout environment.

I visited The Bearded Trainer for a quick workout while on vacation, and all I can say is I need this type of gym in my life on a regular basis. It is so nice to simply show up and not have to put any thought into coming up with a workout, but leaving with most of my muscle groups effectively worked. Kyle, the bearded trainer, was so kind, professional, helpful and encouraging. I never felt dumb, insecure, or out of place in the setting, and Kyle even texted me the next day to make sure I was feeling OK. The equipment is all great, the facility is clean, and if I lived in Utah I would have a regular membership. I can’t recommend this place enough. One visit and you’ll be hooked.

TBT has been awesome! I have improved on all of my major lifts and have never gotten hurt in the process which is huge for me. The classes are super fun and push you to a new level getting cardio and weight training in the same routine. I loved everything about TBT (except the parking. 😂) when I came in. The sense of community is incredible with everyone encouraging and pushing one another to do their best. There are no cliques, no mirrors, and genuinely no judgement. Each station has the workouts written down and questions are answered quickly and respectively. Participating in the many classes offered by TBT is the highlight of my day.. Kyle is so fun! His personality is like no other. He makes every 60 minute session very up lifting. The random jokes he makes keeps me laughing and smiling.
The other thing i like about TBT is the music! It is entertaining to look forward to every song being played.
aaannnd finally, the best part of walking into the facility is the cleanliness of the equipment and the floor. Even the CORNER’S and the bathroom are clean.

What took me so long to come?! I’ve done every type of training out there and can honestly say Kyles style/type of training is my favorite. The workouts fly by, everyone is extremely welcoming, and when the session is done I’m completely satisfied.

I love The Bearded Trainer! I've been going consistently for a month and a half and I can tell my stamina and strength are improving. I'm usually an introvert and thought I enjoyed working out by myself more than with others, but I surprisingly LOVE the "community" feel of it here. You build friendships and gain personal cheerleaders along the way to help motivate you not only to push yourself during the workout, but to keep you coming back in the future. Kyle demonstrates all of the exercises in the beginning (and the adjustments to either make it easier or more challenging) and then walks around during the workout to ensure you won't injure yourself and that you're getting the best quality workout. I highly recommend the nutrition class with Shallan too! They are all the friendliest, most wonderful, motivational people you will ever meet and as tough as the classes are, you won't regret the incredible feeling you have after each one. Whether you're in top athletic shape or you've never exercised a day in your life, The Bearded Trainer is the place for you!

I am 64 years old. I started training with The Bearded Trainer (Kyle) exactly 75 straight weeks. I have averaged 4 to 5 training sessions every week during that time period. There are 10 Reasons I love training with Kyle:

1. It is a great activity for my wife and I to do together. I have seen her get much stronger, more agile and look even better as a result of our training. Her progress has made me really proud.

2. Kyle knows his stuff. I have had a personal trainer on and off for 30 years I have enjoyed all of them but Kyle is in a class of his own. For example, in the past I frequently hurt my back during my training sessions. Kyle has taught me how to train properly and to strengthen my back muscles. I do exercises now I would never have dreamed of doing before such as the “Trap Bar Dead Lift”!

3. The training sessions are a lot of fun. The first time I went to one of Kyle‘s training sessions I was pretty self-conscious because I was the oldest guy there. However, it seemed everyone welcomed us and was pulling for us to do well. There is a super fun atmosphere at Kyle’s gym and everyone is welcome . Kyle has a great sense of humor and he sets the tone for the whole gym.

4. The training sessions make you a lot stronger. Honestly I was shocked when I first started training about how strong many of the women are. When I first started training I doubt I could do one pull-up at a time I can now do 12 consecutive pull ups and 13 consecutive chin-ups. I hope that is OK to say in a review-but it is all a result of my 75 weeks of training at TBT.

5. Smart and sensible advice is given regarding diet. I lost 20 pounds my first six months of training with Kyle. I’ve gained about 5 pounds back and I hope it’s all muscle. My eating habits have totally changed and I feel much better. It is really inspirational to see others losing even more weight while gaining muscle. It’s pretty awesome!!

6. The yoga classes are the best. When I first went to yoga I was very apprehensive. But yoga adds a whole new dimension to physical fitness. I love the flexibility and strength that come from yoga. Lisa, the yoga instructor, is the best!

7. The TBT facilities and equipment are the best. All the equipment is new and everything is always clean. I especially love the crossbars.

8. Those on staff with Kyle are really good and great to work with. I love working with Alicia, Mike and Lisa. They each add their own strength. Kyle has put together a great team. Each of them show great interest in every participant and in my opinion has made TBT the best training facility in Utah.

9. Kyle keeps track of your personal progress. I have no idea how he does it with so many members. He knows better than I do what weights I should use for the different exercises. It is fun to continually gain strength and meet new goals!

10. Kyle has a big heart. He loves what he does because he is such a people person. He is honest and genuine and I am happy to give Kyle five stars. If I could, I would give him a 100.

Kyle is a very knowledgable trainer and is very aware of everyone who is training. As a woman, it can feel very intimidating to workout with a male trainer, but Kyle is so approachable and kind and goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I appreciate that he takes time to give individual help even during group classes. Before going to TBT, I primarily ran long distance and did some yoga, but was never thrilled with my physique. I have been going to Kyles gym for the past few months and it's been such an enjoyable change from a regular gym. I will list out the things I like the most.
The Pros:
1. The type of people that go are a ton of fun to work out with. We have extremely fit people and we have beginners. NO ONE should feel out of place in our classes.
2. Organized classes. You do not have to worry about what you will be doing you just show up and Kyle shows you what to do.
3. The gym is always clean.
4. Not Crossfit.
5. One hour start to finish. I like the quick workout.
6. Kyle has massage guns sitting there you can warm up with. They are amazing.
7. The Bearded Trainer aka Kyle. He's funny, caring and makes coming to class enjoyable.

Do yourself a favor and come try it out. It is a great gym.

I've gone to gym after gym in the Provo/Orem area, from VASA to Planet Fitness. I've also done Insanity workouts and used the BBG Fit program through the Sweat App on my Iphone. But the only real, lasting results I have seen in have been at TBT Fitness. Kyle provides an environment of mutual respect and understanding among all his clients and pushes you hard at every workout. I started going to TBT Fitness about 2 months ago because a friend invited me. I didn’t really think I would keep going, but I’ve been going regularly for about 2 months now—which is huge for me. Several things kept me going, but here are 2 of the most important for me. 1. I had back issues and back pain all the time, but my back and core got stronger in just a few weeks, and now my back pain is gone. You definitely get an all over body workout. Kyle is awesome because he works individually with every client he has and gives you specific things to work on based on your individual needs and goals. He is also very kind and cares about the people he trains.

For years I’ve gone from one diet to the next and pay for gym memberships I barley use. I’m coming up on my 30th birthday and decided enough is enough! I’m getting a personal trainer and finally getting in shape! I did a ton of research and asked friends in the area who they recommend. Several people say “the bearded trainer” I grabbed my husband and we went gym shopping! Every place was either crazy prices or didn’t feel like the place for me. So we checked out the bearded trainer. From the moment we walked in the door Kyle was so welcoming and happy to answer our questions. After seeing all of our options tbt fitness was hands down the place I wanted to go to. My husband is already fit and decided to join just for the month to support me and maybe get more ideas for his workouts. We have been going there 2 weeks now and best decision weve ever made! Even with it being a small group class you still feel like he is personalizing the workout just for you. He knows to push my husband to his potential and modify certain workout for me for what my body needs starting out. Usually I’d choose sleep over going to the gym early but Kyle make the classes so much fun that for once I look forward to gym days! I’ve been training with Kyle for about 4 years and I’ve never felt better, stronger or healthier than I do now. He’s super dedicated, personable, and encouraging. He always prepares new workouts that are innovative and challenging. His new gym is dope, super well equipped with all the right stuff that really matters (none of that filler stuff like treadmills and whatnot—it’s real workout Equipment). Something I really love about his workouts are that you can see your own progress through time as you get stronger, have more endurance and perfect your technique. He’s really detail oriented so even in the big group classes you still feel that personal training touch of him coming around and correcting our technique, encouraging us to keep going or lift heavier and such.
Another awesome thing about his new gym is that he has an Inbody Scale and does measurements as well as nutrition coaching to help you achieve your goals, be accountable and be your best self.
