Did a drop-in class while I was visiting from out of state for a conference. It's close to downtown - 6-7 minute Uber ride, but probably scooterable in warmer weather.

I like that there are many class options on a weekday, which worked with my long work schedule. I took the liquid motion class which was a lot of fun and true to the style. We got to learn a short combo and use our creativity to freestyle in and out of the combo. Which, personally, I think is the best way to learn and build muscle memory, especially if you're a performer.

The studio space is large and offers a lot of different classes and aerial options (silks, lyra, pole, sling yoga, etc.), as well as floor work. The floor is the coolest part and as a first time visitor, it was definitely the "wow" factor. I won't ruin it for you! Come check it out for yourself!

Mel, one of the owners and my instructor for the class I took, was very welcoming and helpful. She texted me the details and answered my questions before the class. I have had experiences where some studios don't respond to inquiries nor allow visitor drop-ins because they can't verify skill level. So this was definitely a much better and more welcoming experience.

I'll definitely be back when I visit SLC again and check out the other classes! You should, too!

Justin was a phenomenal teacher! Our Bachelorette Party had THE most Fun with our private class! Even with a few of our party injured, we were all able to feel sexy and confident and laugh with each other. 15/10 teacher 20/10 performer πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

I’ve tried classes from 2 different instructors and have been going for a few months. I’ve tried one other studio and this is by far my favorite. I believe because the instructor is on charge and rents the room they care and are more in control leading to a better experience. Maybe it was the other studio seems they made things up on the spot. I appreciate that each class the choreo was already decided and the warm up reflected that. I really appreciate they had knee pads to borrow that get washed so I could try some out before committing to my own pair. Has been a very body positive experience and I love the different types of classes that are offered.

I booked a semi private pole dancing lesson for me and my friends here and I’m so glad I did!! Summer was an amazing teacher! She helped us all feel comfortable and confident as beginners. I would absolutely recommend Salt Mine and I will be back for more classes.

I can’t say enough positive things about The Salt Mine. I’ve been taking pole classes (and sprinkling in the occasional heels, floor, etc… I want to try everything they have to offer!) for almost a year now and I just love every minute I spend there. Mel, Anne, Justin, Katie, and Meg are all amazing (and those are just the instructors I’ve had classes with!). They are so inclusive and make you feel welcome the minute you step through the door. It’s such a wonderful haven and I look forward to every class, not to mention how much stronger and more confident I’ve gotten since starting pole classes. It is transformative! Give it a try 😊.

I love the Salt Mine SCL. I take 6am pole classes with Kylaman 3 mornings a week. Kylaman is a fantastic teacher and her classes are accessible to all levels. I started as a beginner and kept coming back because I feel stronger with every class. I would recommend Ky’s classes to anyone who is curious to try pole, but feels nervous that it will be too hard or taboo. Ky’s classes are welcoming and have something empowering for all bodies with all levels of athletic abilities.

I have been taking classes with Joy and this is honestly one of the best decision I've made in a while! I feel better about myself then I have in years! Everything is positive and it's physically and emotionally building.

Joy also encourages self explanation, and is always willing to help with any move. She even works with you one on one to aid in moves you may be struggling with.

Four Years Later- The Salt Mine Continue to be a phenomenal place!!!! With the new building space there is pole, floor, and aerial classes as well. Nik teaches Aerial Hoop/Lyra and it was been fantastic experience all around! They offer wonderful guidance and the cross training has improved my strength all around so much!

I'm not a traditional gym person. I'm always looking for fun exercise. My friends from work told me about Lyra and gave it a try. Over a year now, I have been coming here and loving the craft. Nik has made every class I go to so much fun! Nik has even given me things to work on at home before coming to other sessions. I started in Lyra all levels and have graduated to Lyra 2. Put the work in and you'll see results. If you want a fun way exercise, come to The Salt Mine.

A beautiful, genuinely queer embracing space with incredible instructors. Nik, the lyra (hoop) instructor is easily the best aerial instructor I've ever had and the only person I would send a newbie to for their first class. Justin's pole Church is a blast, and any class with Courtney will kick your butt in the best way. I will be dragging my friends and neighbors.

The kids aerial silks class is amazing. My daughters are loving the class and the instructor. They are challenged to try new things and to go out of their comfort zone. It's awesome to see how great they feel after class.

This is the 3rd studio I have tried so far as I am trying to find a pole studio to call home. I attended Pole Church with Justin on Sunday Morning and it was the best class I have attended so far. Justin was the only instructor that introduced himself, gave a brief overview of the class agenda, and even had participants quickly introduce themselves. He took the time to give us feedback and offer assistance. The energy was great and I felt very comfortable. Great job Justin!

This place is great for training pole/aerial as well as a small selection of classes here and there. They have all the equipment and grip aid you could need and even have some pretty cool lighting setups! Also a great place to do photoshoots! The owners are some of the coolest and nicest people ever. My only issue is with the scheduling system, as for a backstage pass holder it never seemed to show anyone else's individual training sessions so I would go several times thinking I'd have the studio to myself only to find other people already there. I also don't like how there is only parking on the streets but usually that isn't a problem unless they're having a big show. Other than that this place is AMAZING!!

The Salt Mine rules! This studio is like no other. The energy is amazing and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a more underground vibe and are interested in the β€œreal deal” as far as getting strong in tricks as well as finding your sensuality this is it. SM is a very well rounded all encompassing pole studio.

Such a wonderful studio with empowering, warm, authentic instructors! Don't be fooled by the exterior. The studio is beautifully done with sparkly (glow-in-the-dark!) floors, high ceilings and quality X-poles. Whether you're there to dance away the stress of your day, or melt into guided meditation with Sarah, The Salt Mine can be your new favorite happy place. I highly recommend to anyone of all fitness levels.
