Mark is an incredible teacher! His patience and dedication are truly remarkable. Looking back, I’m amazed at how much he put up with my struggles—no one else would have shown that level of understanding and support. It’s easy to enter martial arts with the wrong expectations, but Mark helped me grow so much throughout the process. His program for children is also one of the most effective I’ve ever seen. My very independent daughter transformed during her time there, becoming more focused and disciplined. I truly believe our time spent with Mark was invaluable. We grew as people.

We love Sensei Mark! I have to beg my daughter to go to other places but she LOVES going to karate. I’ve never met a most dedicated and caring person than Mark. He truly loves what he does and that’s what makes his program stand out. He’s super nice and sweet but also very strict and we love that. He’s always willing to work with parents whatever the situation. I can’t wait for my youngest daughter to be old enough to start attending as well. We love TruMotion!

My son has been taking lessons here for just short of two years. I had never thought he would have chosen to take karate but one day he said that he wanted to and he hasn't turned back. We just wanted to get my 11 year old involved with something in the off seasons of Football. My son has struggled with anxiety for several years. You would never know now, that's what he struggles with. Since February when we signed him up, he has grown so much mentally and physically. If you are questioning if it worth the time or the money, the answer is- YES, it is!!! Its amazing how much a child can absorb and grow. Sensei Mark is honestly amazing. Listening to him the first few weeks with my son, was a therapy and growing session for myself as a parent, so I knew my son was in the right place.

Mark at Trumotion Martial Arts is an amazing teacher. He is so good with the kids. My son is 4 years old and I was a little skeptical how he would do in the class. But, after month he is excited to go every Tues and Thursday . He is learning tons of moves plus motor skills and thought processes like " Look, Listen, Learn" . He loves it. Plus he feels like a Ninja.

When my 4 year old daughter said she wanted to be a ninja and take karate, I didn't think it would last long or be a great experience. But we have loved working with Sensei Mark at TruMotion. My daughter has a great time and Sensei Mark is incredibly patient and really good at finding fun ways to teach kids physical, emotional and social skills. She is having so much fun she doesn't realize she is learning discipline, respect, goal setting and friendship. Her lessons are a great physical workout but she is also learning to listen, follow directions, and to cheer for others. She worked really hard for her yellow belt and already has a goal to get to the next level. She is even learning to meditate! I couldn't ask for a better teacher or a better setting. The gym is clean and organized and all of the kids are happy to be there. We have loved the experience and plan to continue!

My son absolutely LOVES going to Karate and I am so glad that we picked TruMotion when we were deciding between dojo's. Sensei Mark is great with the kids and they respect him and learn a lot from him. I love that we get to go up to 3 times a week to group lessons, as well as have the option to do private lessons weekly or bi-weekly. I definitely recommend TruMotion South Jordan!

We love Sensi Mark! I have been taking self defense lessons and my son does karate at this dojo. He is very patient, and such a great teacher to my kiddo who doesn't have the best attention span. I love that he teaches everyone at their own pace and focuses on what we are wanting to improve about ourselves (like speed, self defense, focusing, endurance, etc.) We both have learned a lot and look forward to our classes. I highly recommend this place for any age

It’s a big disappointment ! My grandson came here under Mark’s coaching. My grandson has private lessons and group classes. Private lesson is 30 minute long. However, Mark had “never” taught for 30 mins. He started class about 7 mins late and finished class about 6 minutes earlier than he supposed to. Or He’s on the phones and just let my grandson waiting around. On top of that, if it’s a private lesson with couple other kids, he let my grandson waited for half of the time of the length of the class. My grandson barely learned anything. No wonder they put a big sign in front of the school that they don’t want parents/guardians to attend the class as the rest of the schools in the nation. I wish I could give zero start. And I do want my money back !

We had been working with another studio before coming to TruMotion. We had a few problems with the other place but wanted to continue with karate.

After a introduction lesson with Sensei Mark, we could instantly see that this studio would be different. In that first lesson Mark was able to correct my son's form that he had learned incorrectly from the other studio. He also showed us how my son would have to earn his belts, instead of just showing up and getting a new belt, like we had done before.

Even though my son had to start back as a white belt, he was fine with that. Even at 10, he could see an obvious quality difference compared to his previous studio. He is now a higher belt than he was at the other studio and motivated to work towards his black belt.

Empowered would be the word I choose to describe my experience here. USSD has had a great impact on me. It has helped my emotional, physical, and social well being. Trying to find something for my 9 year old son to get involved in, USSD of South Jordan came into our lives. We were given a free first lesson to try them out. My son loved it! Now 3 years later, my son, now 12, has excelled in his martial arts skills and his confidence has grown so much! The teachers at this location have been there for my son and helped boost his sense of self so much! To see the look of pride in his face when he passes a test is priceless!! I can't say enough good things about this studio!
I started taking martial arts because I was struggling with anxiety and depression, and I needed a positive outlet. Coming to the classes has been a great way for me to find relief from many of my anxieties.
I have also gained a lot of self confidence, and have made many close friendships. It’s a great way to stay in shape, too.
I highly recommend this self defense program to anyone and everyone. It is a very versatile art with something to offer all who will try it.
