I’ve been working out here for about a year and it’s been a great experience - knowledgeable trainers, clean gym, good equipment and a supportive environment. I’ve been to other private gyms where it wasn’t that way so I appreciate what UFI has to offer!

Paul and the other trainers at Utah Fitness have been really incredible. I've been working with Paul for the past 8 months on building strength and doing some conditioning to help feel better and more fit doing the activities i love in the outdoors. Paul's knowledge and support have really made a difference and it's night and day between now and when I started for my general strength and how I feel when I'm snowboarding or hiking.

I have been working with Paul once a week for about 6 months now and see huge progress in my overall fitness and strengths. Paul has a vast knowledge of anatomy and physiology, so he can make you work very efficiently and effectively. The workouts are hard, for sure (I’m usually sore the next day), but he knows just the right level that can be tolerated. He knows every trick to make you get fitter! He’s personable and fun to talk to, and I look forward to coming here every week.

Paul is the worst, but he gets results!!! Just kidding, he is great! He’s easy to be around, pushes you, but is chill about it! I’ve lost 21 pounds and feel stronger than I have ever been! Danesh is awesome too! If you’re not sure about getting a personal trainer, but are curious, give Utah Fitness Institute a try! You won’t regret it!

The best. I’m never going back to a crowded chain gym again. UFI has the space and equipment I need, but most importantly, I have a trainer in Danesh who is in lock step with my post surgical recovery goals, pushes me, and treats me like the athlete I am. No soft corners, but constant encouragement and excitement about what we’re accomplishing.

Paul is super knowledgeable. He has a PHD after all. He gave me incrementally more challenging workouts and helped me fix my back. I have ankle, knee, back, and wrist injuries. He helps me find alternative ways to hit muscle groups. He always has time to answer my questions about nutrition, health, and physiology. He keeps a library on hand in case he doesn’t know off the top of his head. He’s also pretty goofy at times and fun to be around.

Nothing but good things to say about UFI and Dr. Paul Daniels.The gym is conveniently located with good parking, is clean, and has an excellent variety of quality equipment. From our very first interaction I was immediately impressed. I like that Paul has his PhD and is truly an expert in his field. I had some personal fitness goals that I wanted to achieve and he took the time to fully discuss those and identify the roadblocks, injuries, and self-limiting triggers I have that hold me back. He designed an efficient program that makes the best use of my time. Each workout is challenging and progressively builds toward the next. He’s tough, but encouraging and motivates me to push myself even when I don’t think I can. I like that he takes the time to ensure my form is correct and make adjustments when needed. He celebrates my achievements and never makes me feel inadequate, dumb, or that I can’t get better. At 47, thanks to Dr. Daniels and UFI, I’m in the best shape of my life. Don’t let them tell you your body can’t change after 40! I look forward to each session and highly recommend him. I just added another day to my weekly training and I’m excited to see what the next year brings.

About 2012, I started working out with Paul while he was in his PhD program. Since then, he opened the studio. I continued training with Parker and Danny. Their work ethic is exemplary. Every minute of every workout, your highly skilled trainer will be focused on your goals and your performance.

I've been training with Paul for just two months, and it's already been a life-changing experience! My goals were to rebuild my physical conditioning, plus lose substantial weight. So far, in just the first two months of training three hours/wk, I've been able to double the intensity of my workouts, and have already lost 17 lbs! That's beyond even my most optimistic expectations!
Paul is highly knowledgeable in all aspects of not only the full range of professional training techniques, but also in human physiology (super important) and in all aspects of proper nutrition! In addition, Paul is very professional with great people skills, and during every workout stays focused on me and my progress with each routine. Plus, his UFI private gym is a top notch facility, with a highly personalized environment.

Before I went to Utah Fitness Institute, I was intimidated by one-on-one training. Not anymore! Paul is a great trainer and the space is perfect for personal training. He introduced me to equipment I wasn't quite sure how to use before - cables, bands, medicine balls, and mostly my own body weight! Paul pushes me to go out of my comfort zone, but in a safe way using correct technique. I would recommend Paul and UFI to people of all experience levels.

Paul is amazing, he tailors the workout to fit your body and needs. I have a permanent injury in my left leg and he's worked around my issues so I still get a great workout. He is very motivating and helps push me to where I don't think I can do it, but he's right every time and I can do it.
Working out with a personal trainer can be very intimidating at first, but not with Paul. He has a way of making you feel at ease and is motivational and full of excellent advise. Plus, he has a great sense of humor, which never hurts. :)

What makes UFI is Paul and his amazing staff. Not only are they the most educated and informed staff that I have known, they are are extremely well-trained and observant. Each workout is tailored to my needs---not only long term but in the short term, as well.
Paul has trained his staff to reflect his high standards of excellence. Not only do they get you to push yourself farther than you thought possible, but they do it with safety and professionalism. I started with Paul in early October of 2017 after surgery and both he and his team were aware of my concerns and worked around my injury in such a way that I recovered more quickly and holistically.
As a final note, Paul has also modeled a high degree of professionalism in his staff. They are on time, prepared, and are NEVER on their phones. When they work with you, they are focused on you.
Utah Fitness Institute has strengthened my body, changed my outlook, and improved my health.

Paul has been training me for 5 months now. Without any exercise routine in my background, I have had a real aversion to starting one. But wanting more stamina and strength, I sought out a personal trainer on Thumbtack. Per my request, Paul has eased me into a weight-training program that continues to build my physique. He set up an individualized plan that tailors the workout to my targeted goals. Workouts are well balanced on different muscle groups and Paul’s training approach is a good combination of encouragement and drive. I’ve never felt overwhelmed or I would have quit. Paul is punctual for appointments and consistent in his demeanor and his training methods. Because of his Ph. D in the subject areas, Paul has the educational knowledge to answer and advise on questions of nutrition and exercise. I’ve gained inches in targeted areas when I didn’t think it was possible, which leads me to believe I can achieve even more. Glad to have found Paul and the UFI team.
Aside: After seeing my results my spouse began training with Paul and is equally pleased.

Paul has a PhD in exercise physiology. He and Parker put me on an exercise today plan which works much better than my previous start tomorrow plan. I've had steady progress with no injuries, a problem when I followed my own plan in the past. Total weight down 34 lbs, and up 5 lbs of lean weight. Very pleased !!!

I have been training with Paul for about two months now, and I’ve had a great experience working with him. He is very knowledgeable, and he designs effective, motivating, and (dare I say) fun workouts! While my progress has been slow and steady (that is what I want), I am seeing results—not only in how I look, but in my energy levels and overall wellness, as well as my flexibility and how I’m able to move.
While Paul lets me go at my own pace, he is encouraging and makes sure to give me a workout that is going to push me but also doesn’t overdo it—he motivates me to keep coming back and working hard. He tailors his training to each client based on his or her needs, and I feel he’s designing safe and effective workouts every time I come for a session. I would highly recommend him, whatever your personal training needs may be.

I don’t think I made it five minutes into my first visit with Paul before I had to stop to catch my breath. Not once has he acted annoyed or disappointed that I constantly had to stop, he just patiently waited and once I was breathing better he pushed me to start up again. Paul has been great at working with me to get a little better every visit. Continuously pushing me to improve and work harder. I’ve been to other trainers over the years and just didn’t feel like it was really worth it. Not the same with Paul, he gives you 100% of his attention. This isn’t a center of attention thing, he does this so he can make sure you are doing the exercises right, to make sure you aren't going to hurt yourself as well as watching to see when you should be doing more. Paul cares about people’s health it comes through in how he works and in his conversations. After seven months of seeing him at least twice a week I have become a much healthier person thanks to him.
