I was in Vineyard visiting my grandchildren and went to their swim lessons. Miss Bri does a FANTASTIC job with all ages of swimmers she instructs! She is patient and is excellent at redirecting her students to keep them on task. Thank you, Utah Swim Academy! 😁

This is the absolute best place for lessons. They are private lessons and in just a few months my 2 year old son has learned so much. He always gets way excited to go swim with his friend - his teacher - and often cries when his lessons end because he loves them so much. We will forever be fans of Utah Swim Academy

This is our second year at Utah Swim Academy and I just love them so much! I’ve have had a great experience with all the teachers, but this year Katie has just blown me out of the water with how well she has worked with my children. My oldest did not have a great relationship with water and lessons used to be a fight but Katie has been so patient and kind with him and he has grown sooo much in the water. She has been such blessing! Thank you Katie and Utah swim academy for being so wonderful!

Overall happy with our experience with Utah Swim Academy! My three year old, who was afraid to even dip her toes in the water, can now jump in and float to her back, grab the wall and pull herself up. It is amazing! Scheduling can be tricky in the summer because it is busy season, so finding an instructor that works consecutive days is hard. However, I was so impressed with 6 out of the 7 my daughter had! We had a hiccup with one of them because her approach was impatient and not adaptable to my child’s needs. I thought the progress we had made by week 3 was ruined until we were redirected to Hallie. Bless Hallie! She was so incredibly patient with building my daughter’s confidence back up after that, and proceeded to get her to float on her back, go down the slide, etc. Other than that one instructor, my daughter adapted great to every one she had- you can tell most of them are well trained with the similar approach and technique that made it easy to jump around if you couldn’t get the same instructor. We love Bre as well! The cost can add up, but 100% worth every penny in keeping your children safe and brave in the water.

Love this place. The peace of mind that comes from knowing your child is safe in the water, is unparalleled. The price can't be beat (especially when there's a giant swim school in Orem that charges 6+ bucks more per lesson for GROUP LESSONS. Utah Swim Academy has no contracts, no 30 days notices to cancel, you know what teacher you're signing your child up with. Bring your child here, private lessons are so much more personalized and effective. We've loved our lessons so much.

I have enrolled my children in swim lessons at multiple locations in Utah County over the last decade.
This Spring we decided to give Utah Swim Academy a try, and my only regret is not coming to see these instructors sooner.
My girls have learned SO. MUCH. in just 5 short lessons. The instructors are focused, vigilant, and well-trained. I am beyond impressed and so grateful to feel like my girls finally understand how to swim safely and effectively.
We are currently attending lessons and fully intend on signing up for more!

Switching from a different swim school that we were attending for 4 months and saw very very little progress I was so amazed by Utah swim academy in just a few lessons my son has learned so much!
We’ve been able to work with 3 different instructors (Baylee, Brendon, and London) they have all been so great and they are so consistent with what they teach I don’t ever have a problem finding someone that can fit my schedule. My son loves going to swim and his instructors always make him feel so comfortable and excited to learn more.

We love utah swim academy! My little guy is obsessed with the water which gives me so much anxiety as he rushes towards it everywhere we go. Having lessons to learn to float and turn himself onto his back has done wonders for my anxiety and his safety. And the instructors have been amazing! Abby was our go to favorite instructor as she worked so well with Jax and he loved her even when she made him work but she left us to continue her education. After trying a few other instructors (all great) we landed on Lindsey. She works so well Jax! She is so good with him and understanding when he has a struggle day (he is only 17 months) while still pushing him so that he can be safe in the water! I couldn't ask for a better investment then my child's safety in the water taught by amazing instructors.

We LOVE Utah Swim Academy! Addie is so good with my daughter, encouraging but not forceful. My 2 year old literally cries because she doesn't want to leave every time and she is learning great survival skills while still loving the water!

After hearing great things about this school, signed up my then 4 year old son. There was nobody there to instruct us on what to do upon arrival so we just sat by the pool and waited for our class start time. It came and none of the instructors inside the pool asked us if we were there for a lesson, even though they would occasionally glance at us. Finally after five minutes elapsed I stood up and asked who was my son’s instructor. There were no apologies, and they didn’t extend the lesson by five minutes. For what they charge and being that they are sticklers about the customer being on time, I was put off and did not go back.

My almost 4-year-old has been coming on-and-off since she was about 18-months-old. It is one of the few activities I can easily get her into the car for because she loves it so much. Often, after class, she'll ask if she can just go back into the pool and play. I love the one-on-one instruction.
Scheduling can be tricky, and I do wish they have some Saturday or Sunday slots. I've learned to not get too attached to one instructor, which then opens up more options. It allows me to be more involved since I need to relay what my child has been working on between instructors.

I’m choosing to leave an honest review because with all the glowing 5 star reviews I felt very alone in my lesser experience and kept wondering why we were the unlucky ones.
While I can’t recommend Utah Swim Academy based on our experience, I have 2 friends who brought their children and had good experiences!
We loved the instructor my child started with, but we only got 6 lessons with her before she left for the summer. My child had gotten comfortable with her and was asking to go to swim each day. She told me that my child was doing well and progressing quickly. Then we had 2 lessons with random instructors that had openings while trying to decide which instructor to continue with. Once we picked another instructor there was a day where the instructor (who is known to “push” kids) let my child try floating on their own/struggle a little bit. My child was under water multiple times for longer than I felt comfortable watching from the side, but I’m not an instructor and assumed it was part of the process.
Since that lesson, I felt my child regressed back to crying through the entire lesson, cried when we talked about going to swim, cried as soon as we pulled into the parking lot.
After 11 lessons I called the company for advice and they suggested a personality mismatch between my child and the instructor and recommended switching instructors. We moved forward with a new instructor but my child continued to be upset on our way to swim, through the entire lesson, and now even when going to the pool with us. After 18 lessons I decided to stop going as it was not feeling like a good experience for my child or myself at that point.
Who knows if things would have been different if we had all lessons with first instructor, or if my child started too late, or maybe isn’t ready, or just had a single bad experience that we now have to work back from.
While I’m not an angry parent, it is discouraging to feel that my child is no more confident/comfortable in the water after 18 lessons and an investment of >$400.

Overall we have been so grateful for our time with Utah Swim Academy. Above all we cannot recommend Sam enough! She is the most patient, safe, and encouraging teacher. Our daughter was so afraid to start and by the end she gain so much confidence and important skills.
Took it down to 4 stars because there were a couple instructors that we simply wouldn’t trust or feel safe with. SAM IS YOUR GIRL!!!! She is incredible.

So thankful I found this place! Started my daughter at swimming lessons here right before she turned two and she learned how to float on her back/swim safely across the pool in 4 months!! Everyone was always amazed how she could swim without floaties as a 2 year old! Since then we have done refresher lessons before each summer and she is so confident in the water, safe, can swim backstroke, and dive for things at the bottom of the pool!! The best investment ever to have a water safe, great swimmer 4 year old!!

I started taking my daughter here last year and we’ve probably gone 20+ times now. I love that it’s one on one lessons. Most of the teachers are super great. You kinda just have to try a few to see who works best with your little one. They’re so patient. The lessons are only 20 minutes so I tend to book 2 lessons back to back since my daughter is a bit older and does better with a longer lesson. The only thing I didn’t love was going during the winter because the cover to the pool makes it feel like an oven while you’re watching your kid. I know a lot of us parents felt the same way. I’d highly recommend! And I love how they have a trampoline for the kids to play on while we wait.

I have been so impressed with not just Utah Swim Academy, but the instructors know exactly what they’re doing and how to handle my 20 month old. Sam and Abbie are my go to instructors. I AILL ALWAYS recommend Utah Swim Academy. Worth EVERY penny. Because of these 2 instructors I will be here year round.

We have loved our experience with Utah Swim Academy! My 3-year-old has had swim lessons at other places in previous years. I was used to 30 min group lessons (of up to 4 children) at the other swim schools.
Initially, I wasn’t sure if 20 min lessons would be enough for my child to learn. I was pleasantly surprised that my child got much more skill development and enjoyment with Utah Swim Academy’s private 20 min lessons than other group lessons for 30 mins.
Private lessons allows to receive individualized lessons for my child. There are no distractions of other children within the group crying or misbehaving, and no time is wasted waiting for your child’s turn to swim.
The swim lesson prices are very reasonable for the quality of the lesson. I also love the online system available for reserving. It makes it easy to look through the schedules filtering by days or instructors.
We have been so happy with UT Swim Academy and won’t go anywhere else for swim lessons anymore!

But as far as customer service goes, they hardly answer the phone. It’s so hard to get ahold of the company. The price is $5 per lesson if you need the expiration extended. I cannot say enough amazing things about Utah Swim Academy and all of the instructors there. I take my four and two year old year round and especially as a new student, fall lessons are amazing! The owner is amazing, all the teachers are well-trained and love their job. I have the most stubborn kids and they LOVE swimming. It wasn’t always like that and it took pushing through some tough lessons but that’s why Utah Swim Academy has been so wonderful. I always joke that my kids will be taking these lessons until their 18 because I have seen so much confidence in my little boys and a love for the water I wish I had had growing up. The facility is great but we've had to use a different instructor almost every time which is frustrating when your kid is on the shy side. The huge reason why it's hard to get the same instructor is because unless you're able to schedule as soon as they open the next month it gets pretty much booked up.
We've gone through 4 instructors and only two worked well with my 2 year old son who is more on reserved side. They both went at his pace, made it fun for him, and really used encouragement to get him to learn. Unfortunately that one no longer works there and the other is impossible to get an appointment with. The other 2 instructors seem to be going through the motions and didn't really try and or know how to work with a young child. My son ended up hating going. He's now absolutely terrified of getting in the pool now even if it's with us. His very first lesson didn't go well and the last one didn't go that well either. Which is why I cancelled his other lessons and will try to find someplace else for him.I don't think the instructors are bad I just think some of the ones I was able to get an appointment with don't know how to work with toddlers that have a harder time with new environments and people. I think if your kid is outgoing or if you have an older kid this place would be great. But if you have a shy toddler that takes time warming up to others I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

I would love to give 5 stars as we've had some good experiences and some of the teachers are awesome. However, if you're a busy parent, this may not be the school for you (and it would have saved me a lot of time/effort/stress had I known this up front.
We started with lessons March of last year. We ordered a large package of lessons and were looking forward to a great experience. We've had some great experiences with some of your teachers who were wonderful with our highly energetic child, who LOVES swimming--that's the good part to all of this! If it was just that we'd still be going!
Overall, we're a year later and we haven't used all of our lessons, not because we haven't tried, but because we can't get in to use them. It's hard to get a consistent instructor and schedule. This has been a major source of frustration for two working parents. I check back constantly and lessons are not available or not available with instructors who we know are good for our child and his school schedule.
Because we have a different time every week, we've forgotten lessons here and there, which is a waste of time and money for all.
Because of the lack of consistency with instructors, each instructor spends the whole lesson seeing where my son's skill level is and so he doesn't make as much progress each week because he goes back to the beginning. With dozens of lessons he should be much farther along at this point. He loves the lessons and we found he has a skill for it, so it's frustrating that he can't progress.
I've noticed that because the student schedule is public, some people are getting the same instructor every week yet when I ask the instructors directly they say they don't do that, which makes me think that some people are getting a different experience than we are.
At first, I appreciated that the academy assigned the teachers a type of personality to teach for. That would be awesome if it worked out so we had the option to select that person. I found that we got whoever we got and didn't have that choice.
As a customer, it's a frustrating experience.

EDITED 3/2/22
I wanted to come back and update my review. The owner reached out about our bad experience with the instructor. She was nice and we were credited our swim lessons and found a new instructor we liked, but because their scheduling is sooooo terrible and we’re not able to use them during their busy season, it’s been almost a year since we’ve been able to come back. This new instructor was amazing!!! She worked great with my son, now 3, and he learned so much. I feel like he will be much safer in the water this upcoming summer time. Unfortunately, scheduling is so difficult it almost outweighs the good. We scheduled 10 lessons. One was canceled due to roofing issues and another due to weather. Understandable. BUT, there is no way to reschedule. They are already booked out full for 2 months. Not just this great instructor we found and want to stay with because my son trusts her and has been working good with her, but every instructor. I was able to get one lesson in with a new instructor who was fine, but she wasn’t able to continue working with my son on his current skills because she didn’t know where he was at with the other instructor. It’s just VERY frustrating. We currently have one more lesson remaining that expires in May and no way to use it. If we can squeeze in to a cancellation, it won’t necessarily be with our preferred instructor and might be months away from his classes we just did and will just be a small refresher. Basically a waste. There has to be a better way to schedule lessons in general and a better way to reschedule quickly if class is canceled on their end.
Bought and signed up for a 10 lesson pass. Their website for signups is very frustrating and available times go quickly when they’re opened. All my times were canceled because the instructor quit so I had to resign up with whatever times were leftover. We were able to get 3 times with a girl named Megan who my son loved and did well with. The rest that were available were with Steven and I was not a fan of his teaching style. My son didn’t learn or enjoy his time with him like when he was with the other instructor. Steven would frequently start 2-3 minutes late and one time ended 5 minutes early! When they are only 20 minute lessons we were shorted almost 20%. I had heard really good things about this place and thought my 2 year old would be a good student because he loves the water and swimming but after our experience here and my son not being able to learn very much I won’t be coming back. Definitely not worth the price.

Program is 5 stars! The instructors are well trained, my kids are learning so quickly. My 3 year old daughter could float on her back for a minute unassisted by her 3rd lesson. They meet your child where they're at but at the same time push them. If you want a guarantee that your child will learn to swim and to have peace of mind around water, Utah Swim Academy is for you. (The only reason for the 4 stars is that the scheduling is a nightmare. Online schedule fills up so fast and everyone is on at the same time which makes the site slow. I was on right when schedules opened, but by the time it loaded the schedule was mostly full and I had to switch instructors halfway through lessons! There has to be a better way.)

The instructor we have has been great, but this place is a legitimate scam.
You have to pay hundreds of dollars up front and don't have access to schedule with an instructor until after you've paid. Once you do get access to their schedule (even the day of) it's already filled to capacity because instructors give special access codes to their long-time students.
There were literally only three spots available for the all of next month, yet they suggest your child come 3-4 times a week! Utah Swim Academy is literally charging people for a service they can't provide and then refusing to give you your money back. Bottom line, If you don't have enough instructors to offer your services, you shouldn't be accepting new clients.
Take your money elsewhere instead of to a pool in someone's backyard with a devil may care attitude about their unethical business model.

This is the best place I have ever been for swim lessons. They are well trained and know how to teach infants and toddlers how to swim. My 3 year old child freaks everyone out jumping in the deep end, but he can swim across the whole pool. He understands water safety and will not go into the water unless there is an adult with him. My kids have learned to float and be confident in the water. It’s a life changing experience to be able to go to the pool and not have to worry about your younger children. Yes, I still watch them and stay close but I know that they are safe at all times. I would highly recommend doing these life saving lessons for your kids!!!

We just finished our last of 10 swim lessons. Thank goodness!
I can’t force my kids or myself to go back. Every time I sat there for a total of 40 minutes for my kids’ lessons more than half the kids were screaming. The teachers have a very determined, strict policy of forcing the kids to do what they want them to. Every time, multiple kids are puking in the pool. They scoop up the puke & continue dropping the kid into the water. I realize this is a survival swimming technique but watching it for months, it is torture. I definitely wouldn’t want to be dunked or dropped into the water over and over again until I puked, so regardless of the method, we won’t be back. It can be extremely distracting & traumatizing for 4+ year olds who are trying to learn as well & they enter the pool of screaming puking toddlers. If nothing, it would be nice to separate ages so older kids aren’t exposed to the torture. My 13 yr old said never again will she even go back to watch.
Some might say, I’d rather “save a child from drowning & make them scream for 20-30 lessons.” I guess that’s their own choice. A more loving approach seems more appropriate and as a mother, I’d rather try different methods to keep all my children from drowning…torturing them for 20-30 private survival swim lessons…isn’t one of them.
The other frustrating thing is they sell more lessons then they have available. But, you can’t look at the availability until you purchase a pass and you’ll only know about 1 month at a time what is available. The pass expires in 1 year as well. I learned 1/2 way through our lessons that teachers each create their schedules and can give out passwords to reserve lessons prior to the schedule being posted. So, if you’re new, good luck…but, if you really want to try this place find a teacher & beg for his/her password to sign up before it is posted for everyone else…otherwise you’ll struggle getting any lessons within the year before your pass expires.

My kids have been taking lessons for about 2 months. I feel so confident knowing these instructors really care about them & making sure they know the survival skills. My two youngest (12 months & 2 years) are difficult most lessons with screaming, kicking etc which has made me feel a little defeated but Melody has been so great to work with- she is so amazing with my kids & comforts them while also pushing them to try their hardest in the water. My son who is 4, has never wanted to go more than ankle deep in water his whole life. It’s been two months- he is jumping into deep water on his own.... remembering the skills he is learning & enjoys his swim lessons. I never ever would have imagined he would be this comfortable in water. The owners are great to work with & of course our instructor melody is a dream & I don’t have enough good things to say about her! I recommend this place 10000x!! I hope my kids can stay in lessons forever!

JoD and Chelsea are absolutely amazing. We’ve loved most of the other instructors as well. We’ve been doing lessons for my kids for the past 2-3 years here and from the beginning they progressed so quickly! My kids were 5 and 3 when they started and couldn't float or swim at all and had rarely ever been around water. On their first lesson they both floated, and then after 15 lessons they were doing front crawl and diving so much better! We did 3-4 times a week for the first month and now just do once a week or less depending on our schedule just to maintain what they've learned. And then a couple months before summer we do about 2-3 lessons a week for a few weeks just to refresh for the summer. My kids love swimming lessons. It's so fun to watch too. Don't waste your money on a public pool swimming lesson class, your child won't learn much. This is totally worth the money!!

I decided a pool rental would be a great way to get neighbors and friends together. Some had never been and wanted to check out the location. After I Venmoed the $25 non refundable deposit it took almost 24hrs to confirm the date and time which was reasonable. We decided one hour (3pm) would be great, but sent a txt to see if we could extend an additional hour if we decided one hour was not enough. I received a txt stating that we could stay until 5pm, since another party would be there at 5:30pm
Two days before the event, I sent a txt to make sure my hour was reserved since I had not received a confirmation and my name was not online for the hour. I txt, "Are there any special instructions I need to provide my party?" The response was: Where to park, be safe and have fun!
We decided one hour was enough and the families got out of the pool by 4pm, by 4:17pm we drove off with one car in front and one behind us. At 4:25 (on our way into our neighborhood) I received a txt that stated: Will you txt me when you're finished and then Venmo the rest of the payment to Chelse please? I hope all is going well. I sent the $60 fee for the hour and I responded that no one should have been there, since we were home and everyone was from the neighborhood. Grant it, we are a family of 5 and made good time leaving by 4:17pm (basically getting 3 kids dressed and in the car in 17 minutes).
Shortly after, Chelsea responds to my Venmo: When can you send the $30 for the extra 30 min you used? I was surprised by this since we had all been out of the pool by 4pm and now in my home at 4:34, so where was she getting 30 minutes of extra use? I responded that I would send $15 for being there an extra 15 minutes (drying and dressing). When I sent the group txt to my friend that we had been charged $1 per minute extra people were confused. There had been 2 families (one of 6 and one of 8) that needed extra time to get dressed, so that must have been the only reason they were charging us for-time on premise, not in the pool (which we confirmed we had not been in). When they said there was a party at 5:30 so we could stay until 5 we figured they gave parties time to clear out. No one ever mentioned that we needed to be out of the parking lot by 4pm, so if you have a family of 6-8, it would really be a 40 minute rental so you have enough time to get out of the pool, dry and get dressed and drive off without being charged. THIS INFORMATION SHOULD BE INCLUDED UP FRONT. My last message stated that they should include this information the next time someone rents the pool. It was a bittersweet afternoon for all who enjoyed the experience and then felt bad they took too long to CHANGE.
No response was given to my feedback via txt or Venmo.
5 Stars on the Instruction: Instructors focused on perfecting techniques previously thought. We miss Addriane. I like how she talked to my son about general interests and warmed him up. Trust is a big deal, and they got him to know they were there. But were serious about making sure he knew how to be safe. It's been a joy to watch him progress.

I wish I could recommend this swim school, but unfortunately I felt it was a complete waste of time, money and left my child and myself completely traumatized. I enrolled 3 of my kids. 2 were already decent swimmers (learned just great from the rec center & went on to swim team no problem, by the way!) and because they never had the same instructors, I felt they never really got any better. My 3rd child was 4 yrs old and nearly drown, after the instructor told his to go down the slide and assumed he knew to “pancake” when he entered the water-but she didn’t know him at all, and she wasn’t near the bottom of the slide when he came down. I had to yell at her to get her attention! Not to mention, watching the other babies projectile vomiting while floating on their backs, and pounding the water out of their lung on the side of the pool.
I think it might have been a better experience if my kids had the same instructors each time. But they literally pump through lessons so quickly, there is no time to get to know the instructors (if you happened to have the same one more than once) or hardly speak with them about your kids progress, nor do they keep any track of how well your child is progressing.
I understand that this is meant to teach survival skills...but this method is definitely not for everyone!

The staff are amazing. They know what they are doing and are quick to figure out how to work best with your child. My son at age 5 had failed the 2 preschool swim lessons at the rec center. He needed the 1 on 1 and some extra pushing to make progress. Going swimming was actually fun this summer and he loved practicing his new skills thanks to Utah Swim Academy. The area is well designed too if you need to wait with siblings- going to swim was fun even for my toddler who wasn't taking lessons. We can't wait to go again.

Because my first two children (ages 7 and 4) have been aquaphobic their entire lives, when our third child was born and we later discovered she loved the water, we knew we wanted to sign her up for swim lessons here so she could be safe near water and also so she wouldn't develop a fear of water from watching her older siblings. We started her when she was 9 months old, and she loved it and did so well with her lessons! Within only a few weeks of lessons she could float unassisted, go down the slide into the pool (and then roll and float so she would come up face up and remain floating), and she could retrieve rings off the bottom of the pool floor with a small push from her instructor. (Getting the rings was her favorite.) All of our friends and family were so amazed that a baby could do this, and seeing their baby sister be safe and having fun in the water gave my older kids the nudge they needed. My 7 year old has had less than 10 lessons and is no longer afraid of the water and can swim by herself, and while my 4 year old still struggles with his fear, he has gotten more confident and can at least float, and his instructor always made it fun for him. The skills they teach here really do work, and it's worth every penny. We'd recommend them to everyone!

I am very happy with the progress all four of my kids have made through Utah Swim Academy’s instructors. We initially started because a family member had been coming and her little two year old could dive in, get to his back, and get to the side of the pool by himself. At the time I had a brave 3 year old who made me very nervous around water. We had a beach destination trip planned and I wanted the kids to be safe, and feel more confident in their abilities. My kids still go regularly and the teachers push them to be better, and do hard things. We’ve had several different teachers who have worked with the kids and they’ve all done very well. I love to go watch, and love to watch other people’s kids learning and growing. We’ve had a very positive experience and will keep working on skills to improve even more. My second took many lessons when he was 2 and again when he was 3 and 4. My oldest also had some great summer lessons to help him with his stroke. My youngest will be starting soon. We've been to other swim lessons and I like how these lessons are all about making the kids be safe in the water instead of just playing around even if it takes "tough love". My 2-year old was able to float on his back and kick to the edge then grab the edge after only a few weeks! You'll see results in the first week! Totally worth it!
Update: it's been a year since I posted this. My third started back in February at age 2 1/2. She thrived and took to the lessons so quickly. After a few months she was learning strokes. In the summer we took her to the public pil where she would go down the slide and off the diving board all by herself then swim to the side. People would stop and stare in amazement. It's been sooo nice not having to worry about my kids near water. Thanks Utah swim Academy!

The first days were hard, but they express it's all very normal when your kid is screaming his face off for the first couple lessons ha. Hard to watch, but the pay out is absolutely incredible. The peace of mind knowing that my kiddo is safer in the water is priceless. Knowing even just the basics to go right to his back for a float, puts my mind at such ease. Of course I never leave him alone, but its wonderful to see how happy he is knowing the skills to stay safe in the water and is such a little fish. He still has a long way to go, but his close relationship with Chelsea and their swimming bond, he will get there learning the necessary skills at a pace that's perfect for him. I cant say enough about Utah Swim Academy and Chelsea, specifically. One of the best choices I've made as a mom to ensure my babies are safe in the water. Baby girl is up next! 🤗💓

Julie did a fantastic job of respecting my kids and not forcing them to do things they didn't want to. They had a lot of trauma from swimming lessons the previous year at a different place and I needed to find an instructor who was willing to put her agenda aside and meet my kids where they were at and slowly help them. It took them longer than other kids but the time it took wasn't important to me. I was grateful she went slow with them and because of that we saw success! My kids feel so much more confident in the water now and they passed their safety test! I am giving them a 4 because not all of the teachers have the attitude that Julie has and many of them force kids and in my opinion cause a lot of trauma but in their defense, I know for some kids that's what they need.

My son is 6 years old and is swimming across the entire length of the pool. Enough said, thanks to Utah Swim Academy. The instructors are all on the same page so that if we ever need to use a different instructor due to scheduling, they pick up right where the other left off. They are great with teaching technique and breathing and helping my son to perfect his technique so that he can swim more efficiently. I love that the water is warm and that there is a splash pad, trampoline, water toys and a snack bar to entertain siblings while we wait. The surrounding fruit trees also add to the aesthetic, making it feel like you're at a family members' home, swimming in their pool. It is a very welcoming and fun environment which helps to ease the fear that some children might feel about being in the water.

I first started following Utah swim academy on Instagram because of my interest in the profession (I taught swim lessons at YMCA for a couple years). I was so intrigued by JoD and her methods. I still don’t quite understand how she does it- but she is a baby whisperer and a water genius. She is seriously so amazingly talented and passionate. I believe that all of her staff is equally as talented- I just got to go to JoD in southern Utah.

Absolutely, the best thing for a kid! Priceless knowledge for any age of kid whether you're around water a lot or not. I put my 3 & 4 year old in and in just 10 lessons they both could float by themselves. (we're in water a TON- so they had a basic understanding.) Swim Academy helped refine there skills and add to them. Giving the kids a step by step process to follow EVERY. TIME. Which I find important because floatings got to be as easy as breathing-Utah Swim Academy has broke down that process for kids and makes it possible! THANK YOU!!

I was happy to hear that you do your best to place each child with the right instructor in regards to personality. I like that you want each child to succeed. My sons instructor gives him the push that he needs with the right amount of love. I love that lessons are done year round so my kid will be able to keep up on his skills. We've been going for the past few months and have really enjoyed it. They are personable and kind. I would recommend any child go here to learn how to swim.

Jackie was so awesome with my four month old for his very first swimming lesson. She helped me to feel comfortable as I handed him over to her and she reassured me that he was doing great so I didn’t worry. My baby was very calm with her which made it all so much easier for me. I was a little nervous about the idea of baby swimming lessons, but Jackie and Utah Swim Academy made it easy for me to want to continue!

I took my daughter to her first swim lesson yesterday and was completely shocked and scared at how the other baby (looked less than 2) that was there at the same time as my daughter, was treated.
The teacher was teaching this baby to float. This babies mom was not there to see this. And although I understand that getting the water in your face helps you learn to keep your head above water. This baby was terrified and thought she was fighting for her life.
Her head kept going under water over and over (sometimes for awhile before she would be helped) swallowing so much water that in the 15 minutes I was there, I saw her throw up twice. And throwing up was the only break she got. As soon as she was done throwing up the teacher put her back to do it again and you could see the second the teacher brought her back to the water she was completely terrified all over again.
What bothered me the most was that while this baby was panicked and screaming thinking she the was fighting for her life, the teacher just sat there looking annoyed at her for crying. She did not talk to the child to try and tell her everything is okay, or offer any comfort at all.
I do believe that that child will learn to swim and probably eventually love the water. But the fear and anxiety from something as tramatic as thinking you are fighting to save your own life will say with her.
I realize that water is scary and that learning to swim can save a child's life. Had that child been offered comfort a break or even just told she would be okay. This would have been a different review.
if you choose to take your children to this place please at least stay for the lesson and watch your child. Yes your child will probably learn to swim very quickly but what I saw was boarderline abuse.
I also want to say that the girl that was teaching my daughter was a sweetheart and I would have continued going to her but I can't bear to watch another child be treated how that other teacher was treating that child.

This place saves lives. They are all so good with my son. It’s a traumatic experience for an 11 month old to learn how to hold his/her breath under water and float, but they comfort him and help him move along through the process. I think every baby should take lessons here.

I would highly recommend Utah Swim Academy! The peace of mind they have given me knowing that my daughter has the skills necessary to help herself if she were to fall into the water is priceless. I myself am not comfortable in the water, but I wanted to make sure my kid was. You can tell that she feels a lot more confident and comfortable in the water. The instructors are all amazing. They are patient with the kids, but also help push them. I can't recommend this place enough!

My 18 month old son is in his 3rd week of doing lessons everyday and can successfully get into a float. The instructors are fantastic, communication is great, and they push the kids while also caring for them. We have done other baby and me swim lessons, but none progress towards swimming, and I didn't like having to be the bad guy by dunking my child in the water. It may seem like a large money and time investment, but with how quickly I have seen results, it is worth it. Now I can scale back the lessons to once a week, maybe less. I really am impressed with the results and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone considering it.

I always said if I found something that would make my kids water safe I would spend $1,000,000. Luckily I didn’t have to pay that and this program actually works. These are not just swimming lessons that get your kid familiar with water. These are lessons that teach your child how to survive if they ever fall in and get safely out. These lessons are truly invaluable! Every year I see articles of children who have drowned and it has always been my greatest fear. I am so glad that I have found a program that keeps my kids safe and teaches them they can do hard things!

This method works. If you're leaving less than 5 stars on here then I recommend talking to the teacher before the lesson about your child's unique needs. They understand here that there is no one size fits all approach and have taken very different teaching styles to my kids, one of whom has some special needs. But I did talk to the instructor beforehand. My girls learned more about water safety and survival in one 20 minute lesson than they did over an entire summer of lessons at the rec center. In fact, one time at the rec center my daughter went under water and would have drowned if I had not screamed bloody murder at the teacher. My girls are both confident in the water but have no survival skills, so when my 4 year old went under the water and got back up without sputtering and coughing at the end of the lesson, I was officially sold. I wouldn't take them anywhere else.

Outstanding Customer Service!! After I scheduled many lessons for the first time, I started a new job and the time didn't work for lessons. JoD and her amazing team worked with me and helped me schedule times that work. We haven't started lessons yet, however we went yesterday to sit and watch for a moment. I was so impressed with the love and care they took with each child and am so excited to get my daughter started!!! I just bought 2 more lessons because of just watching others yesterday!

We have loved all of the instructors we have had. They care for my children and we have had a lot of success with both my boys (5 and 3) swimming skills. I am excited to start my new baby in lessons soon! Start em now and start ‘em young. The sooner you start, the easier it is. Listening to their recommendation on coaches based on your child’s personality number will also really help your child. I love their technique and beliefs and how they teach. I have gone to a couple other lesson company and types and this is by far the most successful and I like it the most. I can not recommend them enough!

My kids have learned so much from your lessons! I tried taking them to the rec center, but they weren't learning much. Adrienne was especially patient with my son who has anxiety, and I really appreciate that while you have an assertive approach, your teachers are also very adaptable when kids need something different. I have recommended your place to lots of friends, and will continue to do so!

Utah Swim Academy is worth every penny. My daughter was confidently swimming on her own within a month of starting lessons (she couldn't even float on her back when she started). I am so happy to know that she not only has water safety skills (which is more than just floating on your back) but has progressed to learning actual stroke the correct way (no doggie paddled allowed!) She holds her own when swimming in a pool with her older cousins.
