I go here because planet fitness closed and it's right down the street. Planet fitness has a reputation for weird stuff going on and poor gym etiquette but this place is much worse. For hours every morning there two skinny tatted girls who leave there stuff everywhere saving equipment. They'll put they're stuff on 3 machines at once. And cycle through them for 30 minutes. And the amount of people just sitting on stuff looking at their phones is ridiculous. I'm tired of waiting and then asking people if they're done all the time. VASA needs to do something to emphasize gym etiquette and encourage a better culture. Messages l, signs, app reminders. Something. I may end up at a different gym regardless.

Feels like corporate has just abandoned this place. It’s so dirty that the seating and floor in the sauna is black, dried throw up on some of the cardio equipment. The pool is yellow, treadmills have to be from the early 2010’s. You’d be better off doing an @ home gym for the price you pay and quality of the equipment.

I absolutely loved going to this gym. Only reason I'm giving a 1 star is because I was somehow paying for 2 accounts. They fixed the issue and said I would be refunded for paying for the second account. That was A YEAR ago. So in August I cancelled my membership and was assured by Kate that it was cancelled. Then I was charged for September and asked why I was being charged again and was told my account was still active. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And now I'm being charged for October to. My guess is Vasa is gonna wait til my balance gets to the $180 that they own me and put it towards the balance I am accumulating since my membership was supposed to be cancelled and then call it good. Definitely recommend any other gym then Vasa at this point.

I have been coming to the gym 6 years. When I started I wasn't sure where my health journey should go so I looked into a personal trainer and I got Brenda Yardley and I have never looked back been working with Brenda for the past 6 years and it has been one of the most amazing journeys I could ever ask for there has been a lot of people I've met coming into the gym at the front desk etc.. but one thing I can say for sure Brenda has been here the whole time has a spirit of gold always willing to help with her very enthusiastic attitude and her passion for life her dancing and bringing so much joy to others and just loving us for who we are and accepting us where we're at in our journey and helping us to become. I will forever be grateful for the time I get to spend in the gym and with Brenda my life has for ever been changed in so many ways. If anyone ever needs a personal trainer they need to come see Brenda. My gym experience has been so awesome. I am so greatful I have my time for myself and adding the gym time to my weekly journey.

This location is not good at opening on time. They are consistently opening the doors exactly at 5:00 am or later crunching time for those who want a workout in early before work for the day. Other Vasa gyms open at 4:00 am making it easier for those with early morning schedules. Wish this one would. Still waiting this morning, it’s 20 minutes after 5 and still no one here to open.

Been coming here since it was golds. I gave EOS a try and came back here in less than a month. Their equipment gets fixed fast when it's damaged, the facility is clean, people are nice, and employees are awesome. Plus the amount of machines vasa has VS other commercial gyms is awesome. I signed up for 3 day trial after Planet Fitness in Bountiful lost their lease. First, the place is very dirty and I feel a breading ground for illness. Second, After trying their weight machines and 3 different treadmills, I can say with validity their equipment is VERY old, dirty and not well maintained.. Third, before I left I stopped into the bathroom - well, needless to say, I decided to wait until I got home.

As a previous salon owner for 28 years in this community, it is so disappointing to see how run down this once very nice gym has become. I used to be a member here many years ago and did have a good experience then. I only left because they were too busy and Planet Fitness was closer however, I cant say I want to join here again after my experience today.

Planet Fitness in Bountiful was clean. You always saw their employees cleaning and mopping floors etc. Their machines were good quality, VERY well maintained and the standard of integrity to keep their members safe and wanting to come back really shined.

Can’t say enough good things about Abby. While she still follows policy she has amazing customer service skills and cares about the customers at vasa which is more than I can say for Jade at Kaysville who is terrible and has no business in customer relations! Abby shows compassion, care and concern and went out of her way to assist us to try and help resolve our situation. 5 stars for Abby, I would give Kaysville and Jade 0 for unbelievably poor customer service and enrolling customer’s under false pretenses. When there are multiple reviews saying the same things about one gym perhaps corporate should take notice.

I have been going to Cienna for personal training for several months and she is the BEST! She is so knowledgeable, encouraging and really helps me get the most out of my workouts. Leaving two stars instead of one because customer support outside of the building was decent. Plain and simple they don’t hire and train their employees. I’m pretty sure the only service I’ve ever received is a hello when I arrive and goodbye when I leave and that’s only sometimes.

My girlfriend’s app was not working and the two young men who were opening the store had zero idea of how to handle it. I offered to pay for a guest pass but they accidentally charged me twice. Adam was extremely apologetic very kind. Unfortunately he was just not trained for the situation. This is not his fault this is a management issue for sure. I called to get my refund and I was told by Sebastian that I would have to call Paramount. I called Paramount and they told me they couldn’t do any refund because the notes have been put in. I called back and Sebastian said he would put notes in. I called Paramount back and they told me they couldn’t do anything because my card was not charged to any account. I called boss back and spoke with Sebastian and he flat out just kept repeating himself “ Contact customer support” And every question I would ask him after that he wouldn’t even address it he would literally just repeat himself. Horrible horrible horrible horrible customer service especially from a manager. Abby, you should probably train Sebastian a little better in customer service and probably train your morning staff to handle conflict. Especially if they’re there by themselves. Racially Profiled and Disrespected – Unacceptable Treatment

I am deeply disappointed and hurt by the treatment I received at this gym. After scanning in with my QR code, I was refused entry by the staff, who proceeded to racially profile me because of my skin color. The staff member, a woman with red hair and glasses, was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She made no effort to explain why I was being denied access, and it was clear that her actions were rooted in bias and discrimination.

This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a place that claims to promote health and inclusivity. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcome or judged because of their race or skin color. The fact that this happened in 2025 is both shocking and infuriating.

Beyond the blatant racism, the gym itself is subpar. The equipment is outdated, the facilities are poorly maintained, and the overall atmosphere is unwelcoming. But none of that compares to the discrimination I faced at the front desk.

I urge anyone considering this gym to think twice. If you’re a person of color, know that you may not be treated with the respect and dignity you deserve. There are far better gyms out there that value inclusivity and respect their members.

For the most part, this is a decent gym. When equipment isn’t working, staff is quick to fix it. It’s clean, and has a variety of equipment to choose from.
I wish this particular location offered more dance fitness classes though. Other VASA locations offer a variety of dance fitness classes - Dirtilicious, Hip Hop, Dance Fit, Upbeat Barre, Mixxed Fit, Zumba, etc. - while this location only offers Zumba. It’s a shame because so many people in the Bountiful area would join or actually go to VASA if more dance fitness classes were offered here.

I have been attending Vasa Bountiful for about 4 years and have loved it but lately I’ve been super frustrated with building maintenance and space. Nearly every time I arrive there are no cubbies available so people have to find space on the floor or just drag their coat and bag along during their workout. Would be great if they could provide more or not allow people to take a whole cubby with their car keys or water bottle. Also, the parking lot is hardly ever shoveled or salted…and there are lights in the lot but they are never turned on. Bathrooms and locker rooms have been better but they sometimes are absolutely disgusting and not well maintained. When equipment breaks down it will stay that way for months. I once told the front desk that a treadmill up on the cardio rack was not working properly and they said that they would fix it right away. Couple days later I noticed someone else on that exact machine not able to get it to work.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!! they say you can cancel at “any time” but actually if you cancel within 6 months, there’s a $25 cancellation fee. Also, they tell you that if you’re canceling, to give a 30
Days notice, this isn’t “cancel any time”, yet they’ still charge you that month. If you’re calcelling, you probably don’t want to go anymore, not to cancel and still have 30’days to use the facility. I will also reach out to the BBB.
On top of them being after your money, this location needs a BIG renovation, if health department goes and inspect restrooms/locker rooms, they’re discussing. Old sink water faucets, men’s restrooms only 1 working urinal, toilet stalls leak water from the bottom. Machines outdated and worn out, cardio machines also out of order, abdominal exercise area, machines broken, not working properly.

Seek a different gym. This is not “the best gym” in Bountiful, as they claim to be 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

It feels like this Vasa location is going downhill. They’ve cut back on many day-to-day essentials. For example, they used to have paper towels available upstairs and in the bathrooms, but now they’ve removed all of them. The staff also doesn’t seem to care as much as they used to. In the past, they were welcoming and polite, but now it feels like only one maybe two still show that level of professionalism, while the majority don’t.

They’ve clearly been cutting costs to maximize profits, and it shows. Some group classes have fewer instructors because they’d rather have one person manage an entire class instead of two, which impacts the overall quality. Great instructors left due to this. You can just tell it’s not the same as it used to be.

The main reason I still go is that it’s not as crowded as EOS gyms, but honestly, it feels like going to a rundown gym that prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. They’ve even removed the water filter indicators from the fountains, so you never know when the filters were last replaced—or if they’ve been replaced at all. Those indicators used to always show red anyway.

Overall, this gym has been steadily declining, and it’s disappointing to see the standards drop like this.

Would not recommend this gym. I signed up for a temporary membership with the understanding that I would only be in the area for a short term work contract. I was promised that if I cancel my membership before three months; no fees no issues. When the time came to cancel my membership (as i am leaving the state) i was charged $135 (later reduced to $110) to end my membership. Which is essentially 4x what the monthly rate is. Very unsatisfied and unhappy with this experience. This gym is a terrible choice for short term commitments.

I love this gym, but it seems that the machines are not kept in regular repair. The rowing machines are low on batteries and the display screen doesn’t show. Some of the seats on the rowing machines are loose and wobble when you’re using them.

The cycle room has had a faulty stereo for two years and repeated requests to replace it have been ignored until today!

My suggestion to make this a great gym would be to have a maintenance man who can regularly check out the equipment in order to keep it in good working order!

I would also add that there be a day care offered again in the mornings. We cannot have a cycle class on Monday morning because the woman who would teach it, needs to have her 3 year old watched while she teaches. I don’t understand why child care is no longer available. There used to be lots of young moms attending the gym and by getting rid of child care, the number of clients has gone way down!

When we chose VASA, we looked at al the option n in Bountiful. The place is clean, everyone is nice, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. My only critique is that I would like to see them expand their hours. If they don't want to be open 24 hours please at least open an hour earlier, at 4 and stay open an hour later.

Rules and requirements of VASA are not upheld at Bountiful VASA. Favoritism, nepotism, and poor and unethical management for teaching are prominent at Bountiful Vasa. Teaching requirements are not followed. Follow the rules for all or allow other's not in your group of friends the same opportunities. These policy breaking instructors state that they are untouchable because they bring in members/numbers. Bountiful VASA has unethical management of classes, class times, instructors and subs. By far, it is the most awful experience.
Between false advertisements and staff lying about almost everything just to get their numbers, I'M SURE.
We all learn from our mistakes, and this was the worst mistake.
So if you are looking for a gym that does not communicate all the right information and when you ask, they even get angry at you... this is the place, if you want your money to go to the drain, this is the place. No wonder why gyms now on day don't even last. They file for bankruptcy, and they are forced to sell to a different company.

I have been a member of VASA fitness for many years. I've not been to the Bountiful location in awhile. It's never been very nice, but I thought that possibly they may have finally improved it - so I went in today to check it out. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I seriously felt like perhaps they were getting ready to close it down soon, or even demolish it. It has clearly not been kept up, it was very very gross. The mens locker room, has to have health code violations at this point. Mold in the corners, rusted pipes, discolored walls, counter tops - I wasn't even sure the faucet would turn on, it really didn't look functional.

The cardio equipment deck was just laughable. At least half of the machines were broken. Some were duct taped together, and the ones that didn't have a sign on them were clearly still in a state of disrepair. I watched one woman go to 5 different treadmills and finally give up when she couldn't get any of them to actually turn on. The televisions in that area, were all fuzzy, like someone forgot to pay the cable bill, and I am quite sure some of the TV's have been there for 20 years.

I just couldn't get over how dirty and run down everything was. Every single area needs major work, from the facility to the equipment, its in major disrepair. Its obvious that VASA has just given up on this location. They know how to make a nice gym, they have several that are amazing. But they've not invested a single penny into improving or even maintaining this place in a very long time. Most people have left to go to EoS, its probably time to just shut it down.

They scammed me, when I arrived at this place I arrived to be able to change my sedentary life immediately. The first day they explained to me very well that this place had a swimming pool and many things that they promised. They asked them about the personal trainer and they told me that they could help me in my I walked and they would tell me what I should eat and the exercises. I didn't see the inside of the place but the person told me so many things. In the next few days I arrived and the exercises were basic. They couldn't give me a diet or tell me what proteins to buy why. They were not certified and I was surprised but I couldn't do anything because I was tied up. I entered the place and realized that the pool they told me was not there and that the machines were very limited, but I still decided to give it a chance because I wanted to. improve my life with the exercises and the personal trainer the only thing that made me do basic things for 3 weeks so I talk to a manager there and I tell him that I changed personnel and I told him about my annoyance and he told me that I couldn't cancel my subscription then he sees me for 2 weeks and he couldn't recommend anything to me because I wasn't certified as VASA he is going to charge 80 dollars for people who are not qualified now I have an outstanding bill of 1000 dollars that I don't want to pay because they lied to me From the first day, please do not enroll here, do not go through what I am going through, I made this big mistake!!!

It’s okay. I think the employees could do more - making sure the equipment wipes are full, toilet paper isn’t empty, etc. Overall have had good experiences with the people that go here, but def a couple of bad eggs that think they can hold 2 machines at once, be loud, not wipe equipment off.

I've been a member to this same location for ages, all the way back when it was Xcel, then Golds, now Vasa. It has slowly declined with each subsequent change in ownership. The gym today is a shell of what it used to be. Over the years they have slowly removed great equipment that I used daily to equipment now that's mediocre and frequently broken. Especially the cardio machines, treadmills/stair climbers are frequently broken and some that have been broken for months on end. Yes they did add the open CrossFit area which is nice but that's about the only positive addition.

However, perhaps the biggest disappointment is the cleanliness of the gym. The gym as a whole and the men's locker room are absolutely disgusting! I used to use the sauna, steam room, and showers on a regular basis. You couldn't pay me to use them anymore I'd literally be afraid of catching a disease. The bathrooms are horrifically gross, place looks like it's never been cleaned. Toilets frequently out of service, out of toilet paper, the paper towel dispensers are always empty. Half the lockers are broken, the ones that still work are dirty and the latches barely work. You're at risk of having your locker broken into every time you leave anything in there. If you do one thing please hire a full-time janitor, heck even a part time janitor. That's one thing Xcel and even Golds had. If you show more respect to your building, everyone else will also respect the building and keep it cleaner. I wouldn't even mind paying more per month if it meant having a cleaner facility, always having access to paper towels, face tissues. Even the water fountains are disgusting and broken half the time. I always bring my own water and will not drink out of, or refill my water from the water fountains.

Even though the whole gym is gross the men's locker room may be beyond repair. It's to the point it should be completely gutted and remodeled, then hire a real janitor.

The only thing that's kept me coming to this location still is the convenience of location and familiarity I have with the gym. However, this is the first time I have seriously considered leaving. Vasa please make some changes!

way better than eos down the street! it’s way less busy and there is so much room to set up for your workouts/plenty of matching machines so you’re not waiting forever for one thing. absolutely love the cinema room for the privacy while doing cardio, and they are very attentive to starting the movie when it ends. staff is always super nice and greets/says goodbye every time i pass and helped when i spilt my water. also plenty of cleaning wipes around the gym to wipe equipment with after sets. my only complaint would be the bathrooms are pretty run down/nasty (like things falling off the walls ie-toilet paper holders) and need a good makeover, which i know the employees don’t have any say in so i’m not knocking a star off for that.:)

Overall, the gym is OK. When equipment breaks it takes forever to repair it. A leg press was down for nearly a year before it was repaired the shower soap machines are usually empty and it would be nice to have dry paper towels to dry the equipment after it’s been sanitized, the personnel is great. Some of the clientele are jerks because they use equipment and then don’t put the weight away but there’s nothing you can do about jerks! I am glad the gym is there and will continue to use it.

Kidcare was fun for my kids but after my one year old daughter bit a child and was suspended from kidcare for two weeks I felt ostracized and unwelcome to return. To insult to injury After cancelling my membership months ago I am still receiving charges.

Vasa billing has been so difficult to work with. I cancelled my membership months ago and I am still receiving charges. I got a call from a customer service representative (She called ME, and I had to wait on hold) and she couldn’t help resolve the issue, I had to email the business accounts email and I am awaiting their response. Will update to see how they resolve the issue. Overall very unprofessional, hidden fees when you just want to cancel. Save yourself the headache, go somewhere else.

The staff at this location are friendly and the common workout areas serve their purposes fine enough (i.e., good workout selection and clean enough). However, the cleanliness of the men's locker room, showers, steam room, and sauna are absolutely disgusting. I've never once seen anyone clean or maintain them and I'm an avid gym-goer so I'm frequently in there. I've also been a member of this gym now for 2 years. I honestly am not sure how they haven't yet been shut down by the health department. All of the grout is black with mildew. Hard water and rust stains are everywhere. The hot tub and steam room are often closed for maintenance. And the showers, steam room, and urinals often leak water. It really is a joke, and you'll see the pictures I've included, which are pretty damning, describe the situation more than I ever could. I'll be happy to revise my review once the manager gets his/her act together, but in the meantime a little Lysol and elbow grease will go a long way.

Overall not a bad gym. Second time having a membership here, hoped this time around would be less crowded. Still a cluster. Purpose of the review today is to inform that the free weight area has no air movement. It is always a sweat box. There's no air coming out of the vents, no fans. It's like this every time. 🥵
Also I hoped they would have done more with the showers the the last remodel but guess not. Copy EOS if you need to. Rip them out, make them 50% bigger, get quality valves and fixtures. Somewhere to set your soap and shampoo etc.

Called to cancel my vasa membership months ago and was told it was cancelled. Sure enough whoever I talked to didn’t know what they were talking about and my membership was never cancelled. Now I get a letter in the mail stating I owe for past months from a lawyer. After talking with the lawyer, they told me that whoever I talked to probably didn’t know that all cancellations have to be in writing. I was never told this and very disappointed on the staff knowledge. I’m probably not the first person or the last to have this happen. Very disappointed and highly recommend using a gym that has knowledgeable staff that doesn’t mis tell you something and cost you hundreds

This is the vasa closest to me and I only go if I really have to, otherwise I travel to another vasa. A lot of the machines in the upstairs are broken, treadmills, bikes and stair masters. I usually like to use the movie room, however not only are the machines are broken in there but the projector or the screen was not working.

Do NOT get a membership here! I rarely leave bad reviews but dealing with this gym has been a nightmare. The billing company used by VASA continued charging me after I closed my account with them, due to overbilling issues, actually. Because there was a guest attached to my account, even though none of their billing information was attached to the account, they refused to close it. Even though they had record of me closing it, which they admitted to. I had to resort to blocking transfers of them through my bank. Please, don’t give your business to these people. Give it to a company that cares about how they treat their customers.

The staff is always so nice. The equipment is in fairly good shape for the most part; some of the plates have chunks missing. The reasons I give this gym a 3 instead of a 5 are:
- The gym feels small for how many people attend during the busy times. It literally feels humid in the area by the free weights.
- There are never enough adjustable benches.
- The men’s bathroom toilets are usually pretty gross.

I really like this VASA location. If you avoid the peak hours it's not too crowded and there is plenty of space and options if a particular station or machine is busy. They could use a few more free weights but everything is usually well maintained.

I love the community feeling at Vasa Bountiful - people are friendly ( always holding the door for me ) The front desk is always there with the friendliest “ Hello “ .
I enjoy the fitness classes there - specially Body Combat( Shelly - Dave & Christine) and Zumba — the Team classes are awesome if one doesn’t feel like working out alone on the turf - there is always a welcoming feeling in that room , smiling faces and encouraging words .

There’s a wide variety of equipment and I love it, just sometimes it’s hard to find plates, there are a few weight racks, but they are usually empty. Employees have been very nice and respectful. I absolutely love the locker rooms, very nice and clean, amazing sauna. I also really like that they have sanitary wipes at various places so you can wipe down equipment before and after use. Very friendly and encouraging environment. My only complaint would be the lack of plates, however, this may just be various members not putting them back.

One of the hottest steam rooms I’ve used. Smells clean, too, unlike some other steam rooms which are musty. Hot tub is working and hot. Sauna room is hot, but the door is loose of its hinge, so it makes an awful scratching sound when opened or closed. Facilities are in good repair and staff is available for questions. NO POOL, in case that is something you need. Steam, sauna, and hot tub are not coed, also, if that matters. (So, you can’t soak with your loved one)

I have been going to this gym for 6 years. I travel for work and love the fact that there are Vasa locations in a few states I frequent. But one problem they all suffer from is the inability to keep the bathrooms stocked with toilet paper. You wouldn't think this is hard to solve, but the men that close at the end of the night don't replace empty rolls, and the girls that open in the morning don't check before opening. Also, please bolt down the equipment in the smaller Vasa's. It is amazing how much the equipment moves and doesn't get fixed until someone complains.

my sister just recently was at this vasa location with a friend. both her wallet and car keys were stolen here by someone the front desk let in with no proof of pass and their answer was simple “she just walked past us” and after getting police involvement she learned that this isn’t the first time this has happened at this vasa they were investigating several other cases here. the staff doesn’t care. they don’t do anything to prevent it and after working with the police they do as little as possible as well. you couldn’t PAY ME to go here. it’s also maybe a 2/10 on how hygienic the shared lockeroom/sauna spaces are. I switched over to EOS more than a year ago and have never looked back.

Their website easily allows for minors to enter into a contract without verifying parental consent. This happened to our family, and now we have a collections agency after our high school kid. I was looking for a place to exercise. When we found VASA had Silver Sneakers we signed up. WOW! The daily classes have clearly exceeded our hopes and dreams! My husband and I feel we will be strong & healthy in no time . Thank you, VASA!
