Extremely overcrowded. The fire department should be worried. The only times it is not severely crowded is when I am at work. Tried to cancel less than a few weeks after trying to get in and they want a huge fee as a penalty. Rapacious is the VASA word of the day.

The employees are super friendly and are always on top of cleaning. They have everything you need for any workout but it’s way too small of a location for how many people come here. This vasa needs a larger building. Your workouts are shoulder to shoulder unfortunately.

Vasa in Cedar is one of my favorite places to be. It’s always SUPER clean and has everything you need. The staff is very attentive and always greet you by name. It can be crowded during the school year but it’s worth it. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

Vasa really needs to open a bigger gym in Cedar City. I’ve been to numerous other Vasa locations, and this one is the most cramped with the least amenities. If I can go at a time that isn’t busy, it’s great, but if it’s even a slightly busy time, there’s only one of most of the weight training equipment, and the free weight section only has 4 benches. The turf area is also very small, so you can’t really do anything you normally would do on turf for a workout. Hopefully they will move to a bigger facility in the near future. I know that especially with Cedar’s growth, it would stay plenty busy to warrant it.

The HVAC in the Cedar City Vasa gym hasn't worked properly all summer. It's been over 80° in this facility many times over the past couple of months. Staff is aware of the problem but it hasn't been fixed. VERY FRUSTRATING. New year same old problem. The HVAC hasn't worked properly all week. It's 81° in the gym and much hotter on the south end near the windows.

this is easily the worst vasa in all of Utah Absolutely ZERO amenities. all of their equipment is super super old. lots of ther equipment is broken and neglected. their treadmills are so slick its super easy to slip and fall. and their green turf area is tiny tiny. They alo slap on a ton of fees, they charge you $60 annually to keep your rates. a $25 cancellation fee, $15 to freeze, $100 to ign up, the list goes on. its not worth it. and if you cancell, they make you pay a bunch of fees that you "would have owed" of you didnt cancel.

I rounded up from 4.5 stars because I’ve loved working out at VASA, but Cedar City’s VASA gym is tiny compared to all their others. I’ve heard this is because Cedar City is the first place they opened a gym. Cedar does not have any of the other amenities that other VASA gyms offer, but it is the same cost. There is not a pool, a sauna, a movie theater, etc. It’s also unfortunate that most of the machines are busy. That can be frustrating since there is only one of most of the strength training ones.
All that being said, I love the staff at Cedar’s VASA. Everyone is SO KIND and welcoming. They always have a smile and are really encouraging. Additionally, although this VASA is small, it is HOMEY and friendly, and I love that.
In conclusion, if you live in Cedar, I would recommend VASA (even though it doesn’t have the fancy amenities that others do).

I’d leave less stars if I could. They gouge you for money from the second you sign up, harass you with phone calls even while they take your money every month, good luck talking to an actual person on the phone about anything, and then they charge you a ridiculous amount of money to cancel your membership. Worst gym in town, horrific experience, avoid avoid avoid

I love this gym so much. Some people see the smaller gym as a negative thing. But I’ve noticed that it’s become so homey haha! I love the people there, all so kind and willing to help! There are great times to go when it is less crowded for those that like the more empty gym! The staff is amazing, they are always wanting and willing to hear about my life and make me feel so welcomed there. I’ve made so many memories at this location with these people. And they will forever have a special place in my heart. The trainers are awesome, manager is the best, and the front desk workers constantly make my day :) whenever I’m out of town and go to other locations I miss this one soooo bad haha!
Couldn’t have asked for a better second home :)

This vasa has very friendly staff and trainers! I feel like the employees are much more involved here verses other VASAs. Everyone wants you to succeed in your goals and it’s just such a great environment to be in. I worked with a personal trainer in the past and I loved it. Honestly Cedar City Vasa deserves a bigger gym. I think a lot more gym goers in cedar would switch to vasa if they had more space. This vasa has everything else it takes - friendly staff, great trainers, and a positive environment. It just needs more space. So please corporate if you read this, give us some more space!!! You’ll gain more members and clients and retain the customers that are already very happy with the staff and positive environment that just want to be able to get what other vasa members do - a grass area with sled pulls, sauna, etc.

This Vasa is too small for the amount of people that it has coming in to work out!! Lack of equipment and space. You litterally have to crawl around people and equipment to get to where you want to work, and then still don't have enough space to work out. They charge you for amenities that other Vasa fitness have (pool, spa, courts) , but do not have any plans on expanding or getting any more equipment in the near future. A gym with only 2 bench presses and 2 squat racks and lines of people waiting to use these equipment. This place is a joke and if they seriously cared about customer experience they would have already expanded the gym by now . Sad and truly a scam.

I’ve been working out at VASA now for 10 months and my experience has been nothing less than fantastic! The atmosphere is positive and the entire staff is exceptional. You are always greeted with a smile and “Have a great workout” and they are committed to your experience at the gym. The personal trainers at VASA are some of the best in the region. They are professionally trained and also committed to achieving your personal goals. My trainer for 10 months , Hanna Maxfield, has performed miracles I didn’t know or expect could be done. CONSUMER BEWARE !!!
Extremely deceptive business practices. I was in cedar city for the month of September. They advertise 1st month free and if you cancel within 6 month, a $25 cancellation fee.
I called the local gym and they confirmed it will only be $25 when I leave.
6 weeks later, they have charged my card for $54.87 and are unwilling to terminate my membership if I don't pay an addition $133.52.
I called and they said "how about pay just $79 and we will terminate the membership?".
You have been warned! Extremely deceptive business practices.
As I promised on the phone, from me- you will see $0.
Every charge will be disputed and I assure you, collections won't help in this case. Goodluck with your fraud Vasa!

OK gym. Usually pretty busy, there is not very much space to do body weight workouts with dumbbells & such, mostly machines. I loved the Zumba classes & Instructors. I am frustrated that they closed kidcare and didn't really send out a notice and still charged me this month for it. When I asked the front desk worker he said there was nothing he could do to help change my billing and fix the fact that they charged me for kid care even though they closed it. That will probably result in me switching gyms as I need kid care to get a workout in.

Don't waste your time or money and save yourself the headache they have been for me.
There are better gyms out there that don't sell you into an unbreakable contract...SCAM!
I had signed a contract with Vasa at the protest of friends, thinking I would continue to go there and not have any problems. Well, fast forward months later, I was in a car accident, and when I called to cancel the contract, they refused to cancel it. The girl at the frond desk told me that the contract was not able to be canceled... I stopped paying. What is the point of paying for a service that you can't use, especially as a single mom and you have babies to take care of.
It goes on to put a $2K dent in my credit. They refuse to settle, and Vasa will be forever talked down every chance I get, go to Retro or Main Street or Spirit... Bad news travels around the world 3 times before good news even has a chance to put its shoes on, and in this case, I hope it's true, Vasa deserves to go out of business for this type of thing from so many people. Mess up people's credit, and your customers will continue to plummet. Have fun going out of business for putting profit over people.
Edit/update:
They contacted me to "settle it". Wouldn't hear what I said here and still tried to get the full amount.

Crooks! The personal trainer that I signed up with quit...they are still charging me for training sessions that I will not be taking. I signed up for 3 months with the trainer and they said I signed up for a continuous renewal...I did not sign up for this. This gym is very dishonest and all about whatever money they can try to get out of you. Think twice before joining this gym

My favorite Vasa location (I’ve been to 5 total). The staff is always super friendly, the gym is exceptionally clean, and there’s a great assortment of machines/free weights to accomplish your strength-building goals. It’s hard to describe, but the overall vibe here feels super positive.

This gym is awful. The custom service is terrible. The billing is third party and take around 2 months to solve any issues. Treadmills are always broken or they don’t know they’re broken. The showers are always out of order or filthy. The toilets incessantly clogged. The air is stuffy and dank.
I emailed the support team several times over the course of months and was met with no answer. You won't find me in your system because I cancelled my membership. I would rather lift rocks in a parking lot than give your gym another dime of my money.

This gym works, but it is CRAMPED. If you want to use the dumbbells expect to be shoulder to shoulder with whoever’s lifting next to you. Vasa desperately needs to build a new bigger Vasa in Cedar City with how many students go to SUU

Honestly really dissatisfied with this vasa. It's not only the smallest in the whole state, but they are gate keeping TONS of equipment in the "personal training room" that is particular vasa isn't big enough to claim they have. Not to mention one of the staff bringing their teenage brothers into the gym with them, so they can pretend to work out and watch others in the mirror like we can't see them watching. I have just recently joined Vasa from not having belonged to a gym in some time. A few minus’ but I get that it’s the culture. The gym is small and I wish it were a full size Vasa. Also, it’s difficult as it is small location, having members sit at machines talking for 30+ minutes at a time while not working out. That is no fault of Vasa but I am aware that is an issue anywhere. Quality of the gym is great and the customer service/response has been great.

I want to join the gym because I have a brain tumor and I pay for personal trainer and two days later I got hurt my knee because I was using the bands and the bands were too much weight and I ended up blowing my knee out. I’m possibly going to be needing surgery. I went back and try to just take away from the traitor, personal trainer and they only put it off for three months and I told him I got hurt And they are not doing anything about it. I called him today which is Monday Labor Day and I told him that I won’t be able to work out for a while. I have a lot of therapy I have to go through and they just ignored my calls. they said the manager is going to call me or the owner or whatever and they have not responded, now I am thrown into where I’m going to get a lawyer and I’m gonna go after them because of their attitude with me

Had this membership for almost 3 years. During initial sign up you have to pay an additional fee. During that sign up they don’t tell you that every year you will be charged that same $50 fee, every year. I didn’t catch it the first year but I did this time. So I call and speak to one of the employees and there’s nothing she can do. No help with a refund, no help with cancellation. She provided me with a number for guest services and said I could cancel my membership through the app. I go to cancel my membership and they want to charge me another $42 to cancel. Are you kidding me? People should be told that they’ll be charged those fees in the future. I will be contacting corporate and disputing those charges, then I’ll be disputing it with my bank. This vasa is extremely small, always crowded. Also, No pool, basketball court or ANY special amenities that other vasa’s offer.

The phone number they have on googlemaps is invalid, if I could get ahold of them I'd be able to rate them better.

The team at VASA was helpful with me. I'm 50 with a lot of medical issues that others see as an obstacle and I see as an opportunity. The team was helpful finding me a trainer who was willing to help an aging giraffe work on becoming a gazelle. I can't thank you enough for your patience.

This gym is great! The price is good, the location is decent, the employees are awesome, and the place is always clean. I am even greeted by name before checking in from multiple employees.
The only downside is that it’s often crowded and it’s missing some of the machines and amenities that are available as some of the larger gyms like the one in St. George, UT.

I’ll give it two stars for how clean it is, how incredible the staff is, and how nice the equipment is. HOWEVER, any gym with this many consistent customers NEEDS A BIGGER SPACE. Though everything about this gym might be nice at first glance, it’s always far too packed. Every other Vasa I’ve been to is amazing. This one is a complete joke. Don’t go in expecting to get a nice workout in, expect hours of wait time just to get done with what should be a 30 minute workout.
It’s a shame because I love having the pass for any Vasa because I go around the state a lot. But I’m canceling my membership because this is where I workout most often and I can’t be on time for work, have a family life, and work out at this Vasa. Retro Fitness here I come!

I have been a member at this specific VASA fitness for quite some time. The new staff is entirely rude, without a single exception. Richard is by far the most disrespectful of them all, and seeing these employees puts a bad taste in my mouth every time I step foot in the gym. I hope soon there will be a change in attitude and treatment of guests, as this is very unprofessional.

The staff is super nice and helpful and very welcoming. They deserve 5/5 and the world. The location is a joke, 2 benches like be for real. And it’s not like vasa doesn’t have massive gyms along the Wasatch front. Why am I paying the same price per month for a membership, with no pool or sauna, or decent equipment or space, as someone in another city with a bigger and better gym. The location is the major downfall and is super busy always

A well-rounded gym with good amenities and great trainers! It's just a bit small, so the weight machines are being used a lot. But the staff is amazing 👏 and so are the group fitness instructors!

Cedar City Vasa cannot support the amount of people that have a membership there. The gym is so small and crammed with equipment yet there isn't enough equipment to support how many people are there. No matter what time of the day the gym is always packed with people. My workout that should take 50 minutes has consistently taken me an hour or more longer, having to wait for machines. I don't have that kind of time to waste, I'm sure other people don't as well. Working out is something that I typically enjoy however it has become so ridiculous, the experience is not worth $10 a month.

I've been going to the Cedar City Vasa almost daily since they bought out Golds around 10 years ago. Until now I would have given a 5 star rating to this and any other Vasa. The Cedar location is consistently so crammed with people that my typical 90 minute workout has turned into a 45 minute workout that would take 2.5 hours to complete on most days. If there is a fire code it has to be broken on a daily basis. As someone who is accustomed to a friendly gym environment with people who are willing to share equipment and work in, I can attest to that environment being all but non-existent. Rehab groups and other organizations are brought in 25 people at a time every day of the week, giving a feel like working out in a casino. There are 2 "amenities" at this Vasa while all others have pools, racquetball, basketball ect. However, the more unfortunate thing at this point is that they can't even provide enough value to make it worth the $10 a month for a basic membership. You will be more capable and get a better workout in going outside to lift rocks because there is literally a line for every single piece of equipment. If this doesn't give enough evidence to show that this gym doesn't care about the members at this location I don't know what does.

Way too crowded. Can't even find a machine to use regardless of time of day. Send the college kids to their own gym on campus.

I was out of the country and my payment to Vasa didn't go through so they charged me extra. When I went to talk to management they were not negotiable at all. I guess Vasa members have to put it in their calendar to check their bank account making sure the payment went through so they don't get charged extra.
Vasa values taking money instead of happy customers.

I am impressed and very appreciative of the cleanliness of this gym, I see a lot of gyms and Cedar City Vasa is one of the cleanest I have seen. I was one of the first members of Golds Gym when it opened around 2000. Around 2018, I became dissatisfied with the staff, cleanliness, and broken equipment and left for a while, coming back a little over a year ago. I am glad to back, I like the feel and condition of the gym, and i am far more impressed with the present Vasa staff than any other that has been at this facility through the years. Thanks! I love this gym.

The actual gym is great. Very clean, good range of equipment, the thing that put me off is that they have a free personal training session. Little do you know, it’s a one hour sell on their personal trainers. They take 10 minutes to walk you around and show you the place, then a health screen where they show you everything wrong with your body and how 8 training sessions a month will fix it.
The thing that bugged me the most is that when I raised an issue with it being $400 a month,
