I've been to a few Vasa gyms across the state, and this one was the best one I've been to so far. Staff was friendly and welcoming, all the machines are functioning and in good quality, and they have plenty of machines to get your workout in; I went around 6:30 AM and never had to wait for a machine I wanted to use. Thanks for the experience!

Lots of fees and cancelling is a pain.

There is an additional fee when you sign up, a fee to “lock in” your monthly price, a fee to freeze, a fee to cancel and you have to pay your membership for another 30 days.

You also have to cancel through the app, which does not show any signs that your request to cancel actually did anything. When you reach out to them they tell you to cancel in the app and list the options and associated fees.

It’s very scammy.

While this gym has just about all the equipment you might need, it has some serious flaws. First, it’s sweltering in there. There are vents pouring warm air onto you as you work out, and that’s honestly a bit infuriating. Seriously, they keep it warmer in here than I do in my house. Second, the gym is laid out very inefficiently. Matching machines aren’t by each other (a leg machine might be next to an ab machine which is next to a back machine, while there’s another leg machine at the other end of the gym). It doesn’t really make sense. Worse, the spacing between machines doesn’t make sense. Some (like the squat racks) have way more space than they need, while others (like the benches) have you very much in another person’s space while using. There are only two cable machines, when room for a third could easily been made with the strategic shift of a few machines. If someone fixed those things, this would be a great gym.

Vasa has shady practices to steal more of your money, same as when they were Golds. First its the yearly "rate guarantee" fee they don't tell you upfront. Then when you want to cancel, even if its before your cancellation date, they'll charge you another month's worth to steal more of you money. They act like their system isn't electronic and can't do it automatic. They they'll say "it's in the agreement" knowing people don't read through all the fine print. Try having some customer service and telling about fees up front, or putting them in black bold and making them known when people sign up. Or maybe just not have a cancellation fee. Every other normal business doesn't charge if you cancel even a day prior.

I have absolutely loved working out at VASA, especially compared to other gyms I have been too. I have also done the personal training at VASA! And was super impressed with my personal trainer! I have already been seeing the results I have wanted! And additionally the trainer has given me all the resources, information, etc I need to find even more success!

This week I explored a couple different gyms in various parts of Utah. This Vasa had nice amenities and the staff was friendly. It is not a very large gym and felt a little crowded. Lots of cardio equipment but not a ton of free weights or space for free weight. I feel like this is personally one of my biggest draw backs to a gym as free weights can be pretty popular. Cardio machines are great but when less than half of them are being used at any given time they’re kind of a waste of space. And from what I observed there’s only about one or two of each machine, so you might have to wait depending on when you go. I went in the afternoon and it wasn’t terribly busy. The day pass was 15$ which I felt was reasonable.

I decided to get a membership because the app said this gym had a Sauna and a bunch of other amenities(refer to picture). I go in at a "not too busy" time and absolutely nothing is available and there are almost none of the amenities promised. I asked the front desk if they would run this up the chain of command and she informed me that management knows about it and won't be changing it. From what I can tell this low level of business is their bread and butter.

They offer a free day pass but fail to mention when you sign up for it that you cannot use unless you are a resident of Utah (planet fitness would never). They said I could buy a day pass for $15 but they don’t accept Apple Pay lol. Probably for the best because what I did see from the gym it was small and employees were unhelpful. Thankfully there was a planet fitness nearby open 24 hours. No wonder this chain is only regional.

This gym is tiny- not enough machines in the space. They could fit some more but the space just isn’t organized efficiently. But the worst thing about this place is the HEATING in the winter. This gym is kept wayyy too warm. They are literally blasting hot air in here (which doesn’t feel great when running on treadmills or lifting and working up a sweat). Other Vasas are great. Just this one kinda blows.

The Draper location may not have all of the amenities that the other Vasas have. There is no sauna, no hot tub, no steam room. However, this location is always clean and not always super packed and the people who work there are pretty nice. You can go into this gym at 8pm and find that there are plenty of machines and equipment available, which is not the case at most Vasas. All other locations are packed to the brim at that hour. So, for $25-ish per month, it's GREAT if all that you are looking for is to get a good work out in. Plus, they do have a pretty solid massage chair that no one seems to use. And if amenities are important to you, you can always hit up the Riverton Vasa (only a few miles away) on days where you want to hit up a sauna or something.

Absolute crooks. The most unethical company around. I canceled my my membership at the Draper location 2 years ago when. Moved to idaho. They can see I have not entered their gym in 2 yrs. Once I noticed a charge from them on my Amex card I contested it with my credit card company. Called me and claimed i did not cancel it correctly. Currently have a claim with Utah consumer protect board. Also auto renewed my membership which is illegal according to state law. Even emailed them the statute. Just really dishonest people.

I've been coming here since the place opened as Golds in 2012. When this was Golds I would see what looked like a full time cleaning crew every time I visited. When the switch to Vasa happened the crew and any evidence of cleaning and even routine maintenance disappeared. I show up at or around opening time on the weekends to find the bathrooms have not been serviced and a toilet covered in feces. Do not recommend this place.

I love coming to the gym after work, and I hate to sound like a Karen but I thought I may need to share my experience from tonight just to make others aware…I want to start by saying that it is completely understandable that the workers want to get home as soon as possible after closing. With that being said, I work about 2 minutes away from the gym and normally stop by vasa after my shift to run a quick mile before I head home. Normally the workers are super nice about it, and I let them know I’ll be in and out. Tonight I got there about 9:45 and wanted to run (my mile is less than 9 minutes) before going home. There was a worker I’ve never seen before at the register, and she didn’t say anything when I walked in. Because of this, the friend I was with said “I promise we’ll be super fast” to which the worker responded “k because we close in 15 minutes”. We were caught off guard a bit and noticed that all of the music and tv’s were already off. My friend and I quickly hopped on the treadmill to run a mile and about 5 minutes in, the worker began turning the gym lights on and off. I was going at a speed 7.5 and almost lost my footing and fell because we were running while the lights were being turned on and off. I had to stop my mile and left. I just wanted to share this because I feel that it is unsafe to turn off the lights while people are running or doing any other work out, especially when they involve machines/equipment.

Nice facility. However please enforce people putting their damn weights back. Other than that and people sitting for twenty minutes on their phones and not moving thru their workout. Not everyone. I’ve been attending this location for years, and this current management of Mayan and Amelia and the whole front desk team is the best by far. Not only are they so welcoming, but it is the cleanest I’ve ever seen it. Everyone is encouraging and always available to help accommodate any needs. For the times I’ve met the district manager, he has always been so nice and answered any questions as well. Even though it’s a smaller gym, Draper is my favorite location.

I have been a member of this club for over 10 years and recently cancelled. The cancellation was due to ongoing issues of people taking photos/videos in the locker room when I was changing. On more than several occasions, I have come back to my locker in a towel to have someone taking pictures in the same locker row with myself in the background. Often when I politely asked the person taking the vid/pic to stop, that person would try to escalate the situation with me. I have spoken to the front desk several times about these issues in the past with no resolution.
On the last occurrence, the manager got involved and her solution was for me to come at a different time to avoid the other party that liked to film in the changing room- no thanks. Additionally, this gym is dirty, overcrowded, and filled with "gymfluencers" carrying their tripods around on the gym floor.

Beware of the Contracts they don't tell you about Cancellation fee on the plan or the personal training. You really have to be on your trainer about days that you switch or Holliday days where you don't train they don't give you credit for those days like you think. They bill you regardless. My Trainer was Chris he was a great trainer but didn't take care of days where it was a holiday or he had to switch days.

This VASA location is good enough to get your daily dose of endorphins (that's up to you, of course). But the hidden fees make me mad. It feels like someone is stealing money from your pocket. But it's VASA's policy, and the Draper facility franchisee is not to blame. At least that's what I've decided to think. I just moved to this area and I'm looking for a gym. It's sad that VASA head office is spoiling the overall impression of this facility. I'll probably choose another place to have fun. I don't want to be cheated with these hidden fees.

This Draper location is newly renovated and has leveled up to be as good as or better than all the other VASA locations! All new flooring, equipment organized in a layout that makes sense, Olympic lifting area, dedicated training area, and now STUDIO RED. The staff here are incredibly helpful and kind. 5/5 ⭐!

Hidden $60 fee upon joining, not clearly marked on website. Not only is there a sign up fee and a cancellation fee (if you cancel “too soon”) but also a third $60 fee which only gets charged two months after you sign up (assuming you won’t notice) which is only to “ensure your monthly rate won’t ever increase”. Oh yeah, all that on top of $25/month. If I wanted to spend $100+ to hang out in a space crowded full of Mormon teens I’d go to Lagoon.

Kids, kids, and more kids. From 3pm to close there are an insane amount of middle and high school kids. I’m not sure where they are all coming from. Large group social hangouts, loud and obnoxious, on their phones, rough housing and taking pics in the mirror blocking weights. Cringe bad form and throwing barbells down after lifting them for some reason…? Maybe for
attention, because it hinders any progress. It’s just a mess. This is literally a social hotspot/daycare for teens paid by parents, and when they pack in there there is no equipment or even a dumbbell available. It is so overcrowded. But not like gym overcrowded. Like concert overcrowded…around weights…people with phones…in a gym. It’s weird.

Not sure if this is even legal some of these guys look far below 16. In any case, unless you can go while they’re in school you’ll regret coming here.

I like the gym and the atmosphere that it has here. There are a few things though that could make it even better. One example of making it better is replacing some of the equipment. Gym staff is very friendly here but they do not know the details of their gym membership contracts. I was explicitly told that if I were to cancel my membership before 60 days of signing up I would not have to pay their "rate guarantee fee" (which is $53.61) and would only have to pay their "cancel fee" (which is $25.00). Later to find out that you have to give a 30 day notice to cancel to avoid that "rate guarantee fee" so in reality you have only have 30 days to cancel your membership. This is where I was mislead and now have to pay this ridiculous fee when I was explicitly told by three different people that I had 60 days to cancel and not pay this fee. I have talked with corporate already and explained this situation and they told me that "verbal contracts" hold no ground and I will still have to pay the "rate guarantee fee". Mind you I called to cancel my membership 24 days prior to that 60 grace period.

Currently writing this as I’m hitting back here so you know my opinion is legit. I’ve been here since I was a young buck weighing in at 115, years ago. Quite a few of the machines here are broken and or fixed incorrectly and management is seemingly not doing anything about it. My advice? EOS in sandy opening in the next few months. The equipment here is in my opinion, old and not optimal. I find myself bringing in my own equipment to carry around the entire workout to provide what this gym is lacking. I’ve had such a positive experience at EOS AND they have digital weight, new equipment, and a proactive response to issues. I’ve been waiting on a leg extension for weeks here and they have yet to replace it and I’m sure I’ll get a reply faulting the supply chain but little do they know that’s my major so that won’t work on me. Also 1 if the 2 lat pull-downs have been broken for over a week, wow! If you truly want a good you can get it no matter the cost if you have a customer to satisfy. I’d show you a picture of the missing leg extension, but you can clearly see why I don’t have one.

Side note: It would appear as if the gym is okay with people filming you without consent. There is this gym couple that films a livestream workout video the entire time so I would avoid going at 5:00PM unless you enjoy cringing and or being filmed without consent.

EDIT : 2 weeks after management replied to me, only the lat pull-down has been fixed. The chest piece on the lat pull-down machine is still NOT fixed, and the leg extension is still missing so there’s still only one. I’m also still continuously being filmed in the background of the gym couples twitch stream and management refuses to address this issue so I just cancelled my membership. Peace.

I wasn’t greeted when I came into the gym, everything was dirty and the staff was just shooting the breeze in their office. Very limited space and cramped with as many machines as they could fit. A lot of the cardio machines were broken. Very disappointed.

Horrible gym. They NEVER repair their equipment. Machines broken for 6 months or more (examples: stair machines, hamstring lift machine, weight scale, etc). Pay a little more and go somewhere else, trust me.

Standard commercial gym. All the essentials -- bunch of machines, hammer strengths, dumbbells, squat racks, benches, all the cardio, functional turf area. Equipment is a bit old but gets the job done. For $13 a month (after credit card fees, taxes etc.), it's perfectly fine.

My wallet, cash, and earbuds were stolen from the locker room. When I told the front desk and inquired if they had seen someone with my bag, they said to check the locker room and bathroom stalls. They said the same thing happened today with another girl and her items were in there. My bag was in fact in a bathroom stall with missing items. I asked the desk if we could pull cameras and she said I would need to get the police involved. I’ve filed a police report and they said they’ve had lots of theft with this specific VASA, and not other locations. The combination of them knowing where my bag was, careless attitude towards reporting a theft, and the police saying this is only a draper vasa problem leads me to believe it was one of the staff. Lock your valuables or leave them in the car.

Right behind the hotel I went to. Nicer options than what 24 hour fitness offers when I would travel out of state. Nice receptionist as well. Clean age environment. Wish they had gyms in Souther a California

I am VERY disappointed and frustrated with VASA. My daughter was charged about $65 from VASA last week and, assuming it was a FRAUDULENT CHARGE, I told her to deny the payment. She signed up for a "student account" for ONLY $9.99/month so there is NO reason she would be charged so much. VASA called 3 days later telling me the extra charge was a $49.99 "rate guarantee fee" to keep her rate at $9.99/month. However, that makes it MORE than the $9.99/month (and the rate guarantee fee is taken out ANNUALLY) that she thought she signed up for. I was ALSO INFORMED by the caller that I was listed as the one FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE and they had added another fee of $25 for a "payment return fee". How was my 15-year-old CHILD able to sign up for a membership and list me as financially responsible even though I NEVER saw or signed a contract at all? When I tried to ask the caller for more information, it was clear that he couldn’t explain the charges (other than the scripted “because we have this fee”), nor did he have any compassion for the situation. I told him I would talk to my daughter and see if she wanted to continue her membership. Two business days later, I get a call from a COLLECTIONS company about my delinquent account (that is ONE week from the time they charged me to sending it to collections)! I will never have another membership through this company; there are too many hidden fees and a lack of human decency and character in how they handle business.

This is by far the best location out of the many we've been to. Machines are clean and operate, there's a flow to the equipment so you know the section you're in and the staff is friendly and helpful.
