Nice gym but the equipment is always broken. It takes maintenance forever to fix the broken equipment. The image below shows two outta 6 leg machines that are currently out of service.

The sauna is great, otherwise it would be two stars.
Equipment takes forever to repair, employees never know when equipment will be repaired or replaced. Been waiting for months for the chest supported t-bar row to be replaced.
Half the people don't wipe equipment down or puts weights away, the other half treat it like a book club and just talk for 30 minutes at the most popular machines.
11/26/25 update: Down a star. I think they are going to run out of, "sorry for the inconvenience, we're working on it" papers. Seriously, at this point give me a discount on what I pay. This gym used to be great, might just go back to EOS at this point.

As long as you don’t need staff/management to problem solve outside the box, you’ll do ok here. Couldn’t get a 3-day trial pass to save my life, went online and had a 7-day trial pass at EOS in minutes. Had a much better experience there.

Several times water has been shut off without warning, or bathrooms shut down without explanation. When the water was shut down, they offered water for purchase. At least you could bite the cost and give waters out for free to your members. Also frustrating, around July they rent out their parking spots to a fireworks tent. There already isn't enough parking when it's busy, and now you make money off renting parking spots to a fireworks tent. That's nuts

I know one star is low, but very single interaction I’ve had with the manager, Jade — no matter how brief — has been unpleasant. She’s consistently rude, unprofessional, and carries herself like she’s on a constant power trip, as if she gets some kind of ego gratification from her position. That’s not the kind of energy a gym should have. A manager should make members feel welcome and supported, not like they’re an inconvenience for walking through the door. This used to be a place I genuinely enjoyed, but thanks to her, it’s hard to feel that way anymore.

it really does suck that i have to write this because i used to love this gym. My local gym where all the people i know go. I have never had a singular problem for the +3 years i’ve been there. Staff had always been super nice and helpful but today was just the opposite.
I had come to the gym to pay for my due membership balance. I am not able to use my bank account at the moment so i brought cash to pay for it and continue my workout. The lady that was at the front looked at me like if i was someone that had slapped her on the face when i mentioned that i wanted to pay in cash. She had no idea if the front desk took cash. It made me feel like what i was trying to do was a task that bothered her. 0 costumer service skills. I also do work in the same field and i understand that it is hard sometimes, but i was in the best attitude and even smiled at her at all times, but it wasn’t reciprocated in any way. Seriously thinking about canceling my membership and switching to EOS since i haven’t even been feeling welcome when i walk in. Had even another encounter with the same lady yesterday when i tried to get an energy drink. I thought you just paid with your card, but she looked so annoyed with me that i didn’t know you just had to scan your account barcode. Didn’t even try to explain it to me when i was visibly confused, just held out her hand with the most annoyed face ever.
The rest of the staff were absolutely amazing, legitimately seemed so nice and have been everytime i talk to them. But that one girl is just not good for a front desk job.
Another serious issue is that some of the stairmasters have cracked steps, which have almost made me fall multiple times.
Truly the first time i have written a bad review, but it really bothered me so much that they let those kind of people to work at the front of such a popular gym that has welcomed me for so many years.

I had been contemplating getting back into the gym for quite some time but I kept making every excuse in the book. Until one day I finally just told myself to check it out. I went to the Kaysville location cause I was in the area and I was immediately greeted by the GM Jade with a high energy and enthusiasm! She gave me a tour of the facility and told me more about vasa than I even knew they had to offer! I ended up signing up for a Studio membership that night and since then I have done Red, Flow, and several workouts since! And it’s all thanks to Jade making me feel like just another person trying to better their life, not just another number or customer. If that’s how their managers carry themselves? Vasa Kaysville is in very good hands!

I was on the fence about joining Vasa, however I decided to go and got a tour by Eli Hogan who is very friendly and knows the facility very well. He answered all my questions and if he didn't he got the answer from someone else quickly.
The gym is large and their are several options for classes which I like. The place stays clean from what I can tell. I love how large the pool and sauna areas are. There are multiple massage chairs so you don't have to wait in line forever.
I decided to give Vasa a try and I'm glad I did. Eli Hogan is the first face I see when I walk in and he welcomes me with a smiling face and a wave and has even remembered my name which makes me feel special.

I can’t say anything good about the manager there Jade. She has no customer service skills what so ever and could care less about customers. When we enrolled with Vasa we were given permission by the manager at the time to allow our son in (15) with his older brother (18). This was because my husband and I could not be there due to work and we wanted our boys to be able to do something active instead of sit behind a screen. The manager enrolled all of us under the condition my son could come alone with his brother. He noted the account. He’s been going for 6 months with no issues until Jade just recently said he’s not able to come anymore despite the fact he is 16 in 2 months. She said despite the notated account by the manager she’s the manager now and will not allow it. I said we signed up under these conditions and she basically said go ahead and cancel your memberships. She additionally told my daughter who just moved to town that she could not enroll under my membership and family account for the discount because she didn’t enroll at the same time as us which is false and every other location we visit additionally says this is false. We have had a good experience with Vasa up until this point but was directed to cancel our 5 memberships other than provide good customer service and stick to the agreement that we agreed to at enrollment. I’m very disappointed. There are worse things a 15 yr old could do than be at the gym trying to better himself with his older brother. Heartbreaking. We will not go to Vasa again.

Welcome to VASA Kaysville: Where Broken Bikes Go to Retire
If you’re looking for a gym where the bikes are purely decorative, look no further than VASA Kaysville! The cardio bikes have been broken for months—yes, months—and shockingly, no one seems remotely interested in fixing them.
Ask an employee about it? Be prepared for the classic “you’ll have to call corporate” response—because apparently, helping paying members isn’t part of the job description.
And just when you think, “Maybe I’ll just hop on a bike in the cycle room,” surprise! Those are off-limits unless there’s a class. Wouldn’t want people actually using the equipment they pay for, right?
At this point, I think the bikes have a better chance of collecting dust than ever being repaired. Bravo, VASA. Truly elite customer service. I’m sending that welcome We’re broken go to You’re looking for

I've been going to this vasa since they opened. For the most part, it has been a good gym. Over the past several months they've been making changes to their additional memberships with studio red and studio flow with additional charges and requirements with cancelation times. We reported to the instructors how dissatisfied we were with those changes. Unfortunately, the best of the teachers (I believe she was the team lead, named Amber) was let go after bringing up the above information to corporate. Amber was excellent and one of the main reasons we enjoyed this location. We brought several friends and family into studio red memberships and now we're going elsewhere. They've made the experience robotic and annoying. Too bad, because it used to be a good gym. Unfortunately, Jade and her upper management for this region are doing a great job of pissing off the end users (customers) because we have had discussions with previous vasa members that left utah locations due to similar issues.

I've been a Vasa customer for a while. Recently moved to the area and started going to this location. It looks like this one is newer, so all the equipment is still in good condition. The locker room, bathrooms, and showers are clean and don’t stink.
The weights area is way too cramped. Feels like they ordered every single piece of equipment they could think of and crammed it into a very limited space.
Lots of teenagers. Fells like a child care facility.
Saturday mornings are the busiest time—like, ridiculously busy. No parking, long waits for equipment. Sunday mornings are the least busy. Plan accordingly.

The new manager singled out my 15 year old and would not let him workout without an adult. He has been a vasa member by himself for 2 years. Always working out with his friends. When we signed him up they understood that no parent was signing up as a member with him. When my husband cancelled the membership he was promised a refund of cancel fee and a call back. Both the promised actions did not happen…not surprised. He was told they would be consistent with this policy going forward. Well that is not the case because his friends are still working out at 15 without a parent with them.

Leaving the gym I saw one of the kids from my neighborhood. I stopped to say hi to him and handful of boys he was with. They told me that they were waiting for their parents to come because they were too young work out without their parents. I asked why they weren’t inside considering it’s a cold snowy morning. They told me that the three women at the front desk would not let them wait in the waiting area. I spoke with Jade and she confirmed she was not allowing any child without a parent to be in the waiting area. I find it deeply concerning that the women at the front desk were okay letting their young members stand outside in the cold because they don’t allow “loitering”. A paying member regardless of age, gender, skin color, etc. should always be allowed to wait in any waiting area.

Joined for the pool but it’s gross. Sweaty patrons just jump straight into the pool after they’ve worked out without rinsing off first. They use it like a bath tub. The first time I saw it I thought it was just one person being disgusting, but no, it’s culturally acceptable at this club. Gross, I don’t want to swim in everyone’s sweat that’s why I don’t go to public pools.
The set up is terrible. No space to do my own circuit workout. No circuit rooms. You have to take a class. Not fun classes like Zumba. They don’t even offer beginning yoga, or yoga morning hours or evenings. They just push this 1 studio red class and/or signing up for personal training-quit with the sales hype.
Layout is NOT great. Again, not user friendly for circuit workout. Just one huge room where all treadmills are grouped together. I hate this because you’re just facing the persons butt in front of you. Other gyms spread treadmills and stair climbers out around the premier instead of stacking them. This is done for a few reasons, first you can look out at the gym or at T.V’s not at someone’s butt (if nice butt great if not-can be really gross). Another reason to like them around the gym is for ease of access between sets. This method breaks up the rat racing by mixing treadmill/stair climbing in with lifting routine, thus allowing more access to all equipment even during busiest times.
At Kaysville they just have all the treadmills/stair climbers packed in together, then clear across the floor there’s weights, in another area machines. I’d love space where I can be on treadmill for 5-10 min warm up then move to floor, then free weights, then straps, and back to treadmill. Not here. You can only run the treadmill like a rat, or use machines for a set-wait forever, or use free weights if available-wait again. This is not how I successfully workout. Just wasted my money by signing up with this gym.
The set up, gross pool, lack of great class early morning or evenings for working people to a attend-all add up to a big negative for me. I’ve been paying $50 a month for 6 months, but going somewhere else. Nothing different this whole time-now time to cancel and take others with me. Yes, I’ve been showing others better workouts, better equipment set ups, cleaner more respectful cultures.

Vasa the gym is wonderful. Your "agreement" is very much so not customer service oriented. The call center people are trained well to not budge even during personal crisis. Not your problem as a company I know. But some adjustments to your "agreement" would be super helpful for people with financial hardship and/or health issues preventing them from attending the gym. I will continue to come to the gym.
Any potential new members... Please read the entire "agreement" before signing anything. There are many obstacles from cancelation to freezing the membership. Make sure that you check often that your being charged correctly monthly. If the card on file is somehow not working Vasa will 100% continue to charge you as per the "agreement" even if you have no money to take.
Customer service is key! Please continue to provide good service but have mercy as well.

I go to EOS, but decided to try out vasa in kaysville since it has a swimming pool, call couple times to get information on prices for membership and to add on guess( son) they told me I can get the studio membership for $54.99 and I can get my 2 kids in with me so we both can use the pool. 1st day (10/09/24) we were able to get in just fine all of us and swim, (10/10/2024) front desk lady tells me I can’t get in with my kids because they don’t have an account, and we need to all have the $24.99 account to be able to use the swimming pool, and that what ever information they gave me the day before was incorrect and to downgrade I was going to be charge $25.
They all need to have the same information giving to members and at least not charge a downgrade fee less then 24 hrs because they gave me the wrong information.

Edit to my review years ago.
SUPER frustrated to find out the gym is getting rid of the cinema room. I enjoyed going in there because it was dark (easy on my eyes to workout without the bright lights) & not a crowd of people. It was a nice change to hearing & seeing everyone else workout & just focus on my workout & having a movie room was a nice change. I’m really considering canceling my membership for this reason, along with how hot it gets in that gym.
VERY HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED .

Yet again, I’m leaving another review because of my terrible experience. I had a customer service representative reach out to me regarding my other 1 star review, that discredited my frustration, and couldn’t credit any additional and unnecessary fees to cancel my membership. When disputing any charges through my bank, my bank teller mentioned that their biggest dispute issues are through VASA. Be careful and think deeply before signing up for a membership here.

My husband and I transferred from EOS in Layton to your Kaysville Vasa. Since joining we have found:
1- lots of machines are under construction and have been for months
2- you have now discontinued so many of the fun work out classes such as Zumba, Dance fitness, body combat, turbo kick, step, hip hop, etc. I realize you are trying to get more to sign up for your more expensive membership and to use Studio Red but why would we want to work out in a tiny, stinky room with a bunch of people when we could be getting the same workout in the main part of the gym. I have attended the St. George location and they have some of the best Zumba annd fitness class instructors and their classes are completely filled. They have so many fun classes of the ones that I mentioned above and you guys have very few you offer which is getting me to a point where we are going to cancel our family memberships. Maybe you should follow their lead on the classes they offer and the caliber of teachers.
3- we have requested multiple times (with no response) for Kaysville location to get the rope pull machine just like many of your other locations have. It’s a simple machine that doesn’t take up much room and so needed for arm conditioning, but you don’t seem to listen to all the requests for it.
When we first joined this gym, you had so many more fun fitness classes, and the machines seemed to be in much better condition and not have broken down out of commission signs on them for months on end. Seems you have done something different to the Davis locations especially Kaysville and we are wanting to discontinue our membership due to the lack of concern on your parts, as well as the Kaysville location. As far as the fitness classes go, you need to analyze bringing more of the fun classes that people enjoy back to Davis County locations and get good dance instructors to teach those that get people motivated and wanting to come.
Thank you and hope to get a response from you soon

As a committed member of Kaysville Vasa and one who comes at least 4 times a week for the past year, this place has become a second home. However, I'm devastated to learn that they are taking away the Cinema room to turn into yet another space for classes. The Cinema is constantly full and has become a safe space where those like me who prefer to run in a dark, more private space with a bigger means to distract and hit personal records whilst watching a film. The secrecy of this change is disappointing, as it doesn't give members an opportunity to have much of any voice. PLEASE reconsider and keep the Cinema at Kaysville VASA. I assure you it's used plenty and I know dozens of people who are upset with this change as the news is finally coming to light and being spread.

I had a gym membership back in April and May of 2024, and needed to cancel it in late May for money and physical purposes. Despite multiple attempts to reach out to this location and customer service, my phone calls and emails have been ignored. It wouldn't let me cancel my membership through the app, despite not having pending fees due. They charged me more monthly than what the plan I signed up for said, and I ended up needing to dispute it through my bank. Ended up needing to pay a hefty fee multiple months later down the road. Not to mention that the staff was unprofessional, most of the time I went there wasn't staff at the front desk when I needed help.

None of the staff know what they’re doing. We signed up for one account with guest privileges so me and my wife could workout together. A month later we get charged $300 because the staff member who handled our account setup added every extra fee in the book on separate accounts for us so we were being double charged. We complained about it several times and all they said was they would cancel the kid care add on that we never requested or used. Worst gym experience I’ve ever had and it’s not close.

First of all I don’t mean any harm leaving this review. Most of the time I enter the door to check in, an overly friendly staff member opens with “Can I ask you a question”. I understand making sales goals but I find it pretty disingenuous. I would say ease down on the sales goals and there is no need to press people on personal training services. Your services will speak for itself. Also, usually when I go to the gym, I just want to destress and not be bothered. That’s just my take. On another note, I do love the Studio Red classes and the layout of this gym.

I was sold a $9.99 per month membership. Then a couple months later they bill you $50+ for a "rate guarantee fee". Somehow my rate goes up and bill is $26.27 per month. When I decide to cancel as the next year's $50+ fee comes up they won't let you cancel unless you pay it plus two month's fees. Total B.S. Horrible policies. And forget about all the machines that are down for long periods. Go somewhere else. We'll see how long this review stays up. Pathetic company.

The layout and space of how the equipment is placed is great. The cleanliness not so much. The women’s bathroom is almost always dirty. I’ve seen staff walk past trash and used toiletries on the floor and not care. Toilet seats are frequently broken or clogged. In the past month I’ve seen maybe two younger employees actually care and clean any trash around the facility or go into the tanning rooms and thoroughly clean them down. Which today one of the tanning bed’s appeared to have smeared blood or some substance? My husband reported it to the front desk and a newer employee (young man) handled it and cleaned very thoroughly. At times there are several staff at the front at once. Perhaps a few could routinely check and clean the restrooms?

Great gym and friendly staff.
Only downside is a good amount of machines are broken. The machines don’t work to count your reps. The hydro chairs usually has a wait because there’s 2/5 broken. A lot of the machines are old and need repair. Really hard to find parking.

Love this gym! Great staff, great classes, lots of equipment options, love the sauna! Took off one star because it is hard to get kid care in the morning; it books up 2 weeks out sometimes! And the kid care closes at 12, I wish it was open until 1 or 2. Also, when machines are down it seems to take a while to get them working again. Otherwise, love the atmosphere.

Although the staff has been very friendly, I’m feeling really so sad that the pool broke mid-December and is still broken (today is 1/16). I injured my back prior to joining VASA, and swimming is the only kind of exercise I can do that relieves the pain. I bought a VASA membership just to use the pool. So I’m paying for my membership and not able to exercise and just reinjured my back again because of not being able to get that movement. The staff has no idea when the pool will be fixed—both the Kaysville and Layton VASA pools near me aren’t working. So the situation is all really discouraging, and I wish they were more about customer satisfaction with reimbursing monthly fees or waiving the fee to freeze memberships when it’s because their equipment isn’t working.

We were so excited when this gym came to Kaysville! And it's proven to be an excellent facility with great amenities. Indeed, it takes about 10 minutes to sign up!
When it comes to even asking about (let alone resolving) billing issues, it's an entire different matter:
1. No one at the local facility knows that process. They just refer you to Corporate.
2. No one locally has any authority, not even managers. In fact, local manager, Jeff admitted that even though he's the manager, he has no authority to resolve or even answer billing related issues.
3. The manager couldn't even provide the name, address, or phone number of a regional manager or person at corporate office to help. Even he tried "chatting" with someone on the corporate website (I watched this happen), who couldn't answer any questions and didn't know where to send us, finally suggesting that I DRIVE to the corporate office in Orem (a one hour drive one way) and just walkin to the office and ask questions.
4. Wanting to avoid the drive, we sent TWO certified mailings to the corporate office, with NO response.
5. I finally drove an hour to the corporate office after finally locating the address and tried to speak with someone there. It's part of another VASA facility, but has "no public entrance." After waiting for some time up front asking to talk with someone from the corporate office, I was finally greeted by an extremely helpful associate (I'd hire her away if I could).
6. After several more days, someone from the corporate office researched the matter and got back to me with a suitable solution.
VASA - you have a great facility, and very efficient sign-up processes, but the rest of the processes (communication, access, problem resolution, and more) receives a zero score from us.
It shouldn't take over twenty attempts, two certified mailings, and hours of travel time to resolve issues with you.
I'm afraid you've lost our confidence and our business. Not one of your benefits makes up for such shoddy workplace operations, inability to trust your local managers, and behind-the-scenes workplace culture. There are indeed better gyms.
You've lost our business for good.

I'm a new member who signed up for the pool facility. Disappointed to find it not operational because of delays for a heater part. I would assume that a huge organization like VASA should store replacements on hand for some of the major parts such as the heater. For those of us counting on the pool having to wait, who knows how long, is a major inconvenience and grossly unfair as we're still paying for the full monthly membership.

Love the cold pool!
Cold plunges are trending in the health & fitness industry. I think it would be very smart of Vasa to turn off the heat to the pool for one or two days a week, & advertise it for people interested in cold plunges & swimming in colder temperatures.
That way you can still appeal to your older client base while attracting new customers interested in the latest science backed way to lose weight, invigorate your mind, and speed recovery.
There is a gap in the market for this- will Vasa do something as simple & easy as this to fill it, or wait for a competitor to snatch up that opportunity?

Not a bad place to work out. Sometimes it very crowded and hard to get a work out in a reasonable time. Tonight when in the dressing room I and my son were hurrying to get out...no kidding these guys (front desk people) walked through...saw us there and then turned the lights off at 11:59...we couldn't see anything. My kid actually slipped on some water on the floor because he couldn't see it walking out (he hurt his hip on the tile floor). We would have been out of the gym by 12:02, but with the lights out we got out at 12:08. It's awful to do that to people, and it's a safety issue for this facility. Based other complaints vasa has some issues...I recommend eos gym instead.

Beware of some extremely fishy debt collectors and canceling your membership. I came inside to cancel my membership because I was moving to a different country. An employee took down all my information and let me know that when the manager got back from break they would handle it. A few months after my move I came home for a Christmas visit and opened all my mail. A debt collection agency was coming after me for 245 dollars and I had no choice but to pay. The letter stated they had called me and left emails- all that forwarded to the junk automatically. I no longer have a US phone to call. Reading the reviews this seems to be a VERY common problem and I would heavily recommend avoiding vasa.

*Do NOT do business with VASA, find another gym!!!*
My daughter’s account was sent to collections without any notice. On November 7th, 2023, I received a letter from Aldous & Associates, VASA Fitness’s collection firm, for $130.21 without any prior notice. If VASA Fitness attempted to contact us, they made little to no effort, not even a letter. We established the account back in July 2023 and set up automatic payments. There were issues when setting up the account for my daughter, but they were resolved. I can only assume that when VASA Fitness “fixed” the account issues back in July, they must have messed up the automatic payments that were set up. It is unacceptable that VASA Fitness sends their customers to collections so aggressively and makes no attempt to rectify the issue before escalating. This is not a practice any business should engage in. I have cancelled my other memberships with this business as I believe these practices are highly unethical and may be in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Their member service rep even had the nerve to charge our other daughter a $25 cancellation fee after all of this. AVOID!

The amenities and equipment at this facility are first rate. Price is a great value. The manager was incredibly helpful. I only needed a 2 week membership and he helped me figure out how to do that. I was stunned at how packed the gym is at 5am, but that’s a testament to how good the facility is. There seems to be a sizable portion of the membership who lack basic gym etiquette/courtesy - sitting and resting on a machine for 5+ minutes while others are waiting and having an attitude and wont allow another to work in one set. The pool and hot tub had clean water, but the pool bottom seemed to not have been cleaned recently (sand and such). Overall I’d say this is a gym that most other gyms should seek to emulate.

Vasa Fitness used to be a sanctuary where one’s soul could find refuge from the ceaseless banalities of modern life, until recently that is. As I was attempting a one-rep max deadlift (135 lbs), a large bug suddenly flew into my mouth, leaving me incredibly disturbed. I generally prefer to ingest my protein post workout instead of during. Much to my horror, these bugs began to reproduce exponentially over the ensuing weeks, rapidly overtaking the pajama-wearing high-schoolers as the largest demographic at the gym. I couldn’t believe such infestation continued unabated— surely one of the numerous summer-sales bros that frequent this location could sell the gym manager a viable solution. But alas, the bugs have won, and preventive measures now would be akin to charging into hell with a squirt gun. I take great comfort in knowing that, should my body suddenly collapse, my earthly vessel will be instantly decomposed by a vibrant ecosystem of insects and critters that now reign supreme over the human gym-goers.
If you wish to simulate The Mummy ride at Universal Studios (with real bugs instead of special effects), look no further than the Olympic lifting section at the local Vasa Fitness on 200 North.

Overrun with fruit flies for the past 3 weeks and getting worse. Even though this gym is usually quite busy, I previously preferred this location for the atmosphere and because I liked the Kidcare personnel better. The gym is laid our nicely and feels OK even when crowded, but the fruit flies are becoming intolerable. I asked the front desk staff if they were aware and they confirmed numerous complaints had been made, but nothing had been done to address it. Having a tiny little fruit fly floating around your face while working out is really pretty disgusting.

Not a bad place to work out. It’s frequently crowded and can be hard to get a machine you want. If something (machines, drinking fountains, cinema, etc) gets broken, it takes months for them to get it fixed. The cinema room is a sauna (76 degrees today) and while they say they are looking into it, nothing ever happens to remedy the situation. The bathrooms run out of TP frequently and staff have told us that they only check bathrooms once a shift. A poorly run and maintained gym, but it does the job.
