Always overly crowded, always fighting for a parking spot, sauna room is tiny for the amount of people that come to this gym. I have asked simple questions before at the front desk that cant be answered. Hate that they got rid of the theater room just to add an amenity that can only be used if you have the studio membership.

The gym is fine but the billing is so stupid. I got fined 25$ just for missing my payment by a day and mind you I only got a notification the day after the bill it was due so they basically scam you with making you spend more money. Same when you want to get rid of your membership you have to pay a fee to get rid of your membership.

I’ve been a regular at this gym for four years. My favorite part is Natalee’s yoga classes. She is a fantastic instructor. Unfortunately, soon, all yoga classes will be replaced by Studio Flow classes. It’s ridiculous I’d have to pay twice as much money a month to go to the same classes I’ve been attending for four years. Vasa, please consider keeping regular yoga classes as well.

Changing my rating and review* I joined this gym with the understanding my membership had access to tanning and the dark room. When I first got the membership went in to no tanning at this location (yes I signed up online) and now the dark room is being demolished. It boggles my mind how im paying for things that are suppose to be included in my membership but yet this location is slowly getting rid of the things my membership is to consist of with no change in my monthly price? 🤔

I love this Vasa and have been coming here for years, but unfortunately, I will have to cancel my membership. My favorite things about Vasa were the cardio cinema room & yoga, especially Natalee’s classes. Apparently they are demolishing the cardio cinema for “flow classes”, which really sucks. And today I found out that once the new classroom is finished, the regular yoga classes will be no more. If you want to continue to do yoga at Vasa, you have to upgrade to the most expensive membership. Doubling the price for a class that I’ve been going to for over 6 years is absolutely ridiculous. I will be finding a new gym once these changes go into effect, one that has affordable yoga. 🙄

TERRIBLE do not I repeat do not do any business with Vasa. I signed up and loved it for a bit, then I got a personal trainer, they not only switched trainers multiple times but also the trainer canceled on me several times, when I went to cancel because I got so fed up with it they told me I would have to pay $792 to end the contract early. The trainer did not follow through on any of their promises and now I'm paying the price. Do not do any contracts with them. Don't do business with them.

DO NOT JOIN THIS VASA. From the beginning, Matts demeanor came across as dismissive and condescending. I explained that I had just moved back to Ogden after being away for over 10 years and wanted to see how the facility had changed since the remodel before deciding whether to join Ogden Vasa Or Layton VASA. I used a free trial pass I got online with the same phone # I’ve had for 15 years ….and he made a scene about it …. Since I was a member 10 yrs ago at Ogden …..despite online no fine print saying that’s a rule.
To make matters worse, the interaction became unnecessarily confrontational, and no alternative option (such as purchasing a day pass) was offered. This entire situation could have been handled respectfully and professionally, but it was not. The man is in his 40s working at a gym….… demeaning, arrogant and talking down to women in a rude and condescending way all because they signed up for a “free gym pass good until 10/26” I would not ever consider joining this gym not even if I was offered a FREE pass due to the treatment and customer service .
If it’s like this for using a free trial pass for a day, I can only imagine what it’s like being a fully committed member and trying to cancel your pass! Good luck !

I have been a member of the Ogden VASA since before they were even finished building it. I have enjoyed it in every possible way so far. I especially love the yoga class on Tuesday and Thursday nights because of the amazing instructor Natalee. She truly cares about every person that comes to her class, and she accommodates her classes to the needs and requests of her clients.
Here is where Ogden VASA is losing stars… As a company, they care more about money than helping people imo. This new “Studio Yoga” that is coming is going to take yoga away from people that truly need it just because they can’t afford to upgrade their membership. We already saw this with their “Studio Red.”
Health and fitness should be equitable and available for everyone. Not just the “rich.” Please do better.

I walked In to renew my membership and immediately walked out. I have worked with Leah before she’s great, I’ve also spoken with Matt who is also great, however there was an employee who was very unprofessional in the workspace and was being rude and demanding to another employee I didn’t get her name i think it was keena or keona, very rude to her coworkers and wasn’t very attentive to me standing there nothing was clean and people who work with people should be more people friendly or they should find another job! I live close by and love vasa but I might be saying goodbye to my vasa friends and going to a different gym sadly! Something needs to be done with management here!

Do not gym this gym. I joined then tried to cancel due to crowding. They had made cancelling the most annoying, difficult, expensive process.
I have some friends in Utah wanting to get into fitness and I advised them to not go here due to this and we are all EOS members now.

Vasa is a joke! I would leave a zero star review if possible. If you are thinking of joining this gym be prepared to be hit with hidden fees and you’ll go through a nightmare trying to cancel your membership.
I have been trying to cancel my son’s and my membership for almost a month now and they make it impossible! If I try on their app it will only let me cancel if I pay a made up annual membership rate guarantee of $53 per account! They do not tell you about this fee and I believe it is made up because I joined in July of 2024. One would think that if I had to pay an annual membership rate guarantee fee then it would be due on July 2025. Nope! It just happens to show up when I go to cancel in August.
I went into the gym to question this fee and the nice lady there said she couldn’t help me and that I needed to call into their headquarters to cancel. I had called in numerous times, unable to get a hold of anyone. And don’t leave your call back number because they will never call you back!
Finally I was able to have someone answer the phone after being on hold for over an hour and all they would do is offer me a total of $25 off one of the fees.
Vasa is a dishonest! Go somewhere else!

I used the cinema fitness room! That was something I had not seen before. I enjoyed it. Watched the movie and didn't even realize I walked 2 miles. The women's locker room was clean. The shower had good pressure, lots of hair everywhere. Just how you wipe down the machines, it should have a sign in there. Wipe up after you're done.The mirrors were haphazardly wiped with streaks everywhere. Sometimes that happens with cheaper paper towels and spray. Invest in better materials so the clean up is easier. Overall a good workout. First time at this location.

The place smells terrible. They only have one co-ed sauna and it’s almost always full. I hate that it’s co-ed. The steam room smells like mold. They don’t use eucalyptus or anything to make the steam room more tolerable. I got the membership because PF doesn’t have a sauna but I find myself way more motivated to go to PF because PF smells cleaner and is less crowded. Also, nowhere in the contract can I find anything about paying the rate guarantee fee during or before cancellation. It only says there is a $25 cancellation fee in the contract. Now I am a month and a half into this terrible gym’s membership and getting charged $105 to cancel it.

So I will tell you if you have not been to this gym in the last 6 months, you should give it a shot. I had a very bad review for this gym. I believe that it was previous management that was the problem.
I would like to mention a few people: Matt the manager, even though I've only talked to you for about 5 minutes, I can tell that you really care about the store and you are the reason why things are so much better than they were when I first joined.
Lance: this new maintenance guy is killing it. Literally the first day he was hired, there were pieces of equipment that have been broken since I joined here a year and a half ago that were fixed the same day. He is the reason why this gym has gotten better. He always stops to talk to me because I probably spend more time here then some of the employees seeing that I'm retired, write down everything that I tell him. And then it is usually fixed in a day or two.
Arty: this girl is always cleaning something. I've never seen her standing around once. She is always walking around cleaning things.
Jenny: she teaches the studio red classes. She always seems to find me out on the floor and invite me into class when I forgotten that there's a class.
Even though I've mentioned these people there isn't one person who hasn't been friendly, kind or helpful at this location. Again I highly recommend anyone who had a negative experience in the past to give it another shot.

Due to fraud and having to relocate for a couple months, I wasn’t able to come to the gym & dealing with a deceased loved one- just didn’t notice my vasa wasn’t coming out for 1.5 months. I absolutely love Vasa Fitness! The sheer amount of space is incredible; it never feels crowded, and there's always room to move. Absolutely awful. I cancelled two months ago and not one person recorded it. I was with vasa for over a year- 1.5 years next month to be exact. I paid the cancellation fee- it was NEVER recorded. It tried charging us yet again- double payment and due to use already paying the fee TWICE TO CANCEL- we blocked the charges. To our surprise they tried yet again. I called the customer service number and they had ZERO record of it. I paid ANOTHER $58 on the phone to cancel TODAY. We’re now over $100 in fees to cancel which should have only been the ori gal $29. They refuse to give me to a manager and then advise I called the local gym. She couldn’t do anything and stated they shouldn’t have told me to call them. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Someone from management who can actually help me get those unnecessary fees back that we already paid several times- call me!! This is ridiculous. I would not recommend vasa

Lots of fees, including a yearly membership fee your cost per month average is way higher than you think, parking is bad, hours are bad and it's always busy REPLY; if only that was the only hidden fee, lord forgive you if you ever get an insufficient balance error, $20 fee. Almost as predatory as the banks and they will sic a collection service on you same day.

I have been going to this gym for about five months now. I have tried many other gyms. I have had great experiences with the cleanliness of the gym itself, as well as the steam room, sauna, showers and locker room. My favorite part of the gym are the personal trainers. Particularly Mandy. Though Matt was pretty cool as well. However, has since been promoted, but I still talk to him regularly. Mandy has done a great job doing a continuous through physical evaluation of what my body is capable of and doing. She continually pushes to strengthen my weaknesses and is very quick to extend accolades for progress. She has always been very flexible around scheduling appointments. She has helped me better understand my body and what it needs to obtain the results That I am looking for. I could not give more of a recommendation to use her as a personal trainer.

Mandy a hard worker and even harder trainer. She has quickly become part of our everyday lives whether she knows it or not. She keeps everyone at VASA smiling and engaged whether she’s training or not. She always willing the give her helping hands, foot whatever is needed.
The gym is always a hard place to WANT to go and having people like Mandy and Matt there to motivate everyone is the key. VASA is always being cleaned and everyone that is working out there are always kind whether it’s waiting on a machine or taking pointers from someone.

I went again today and met the general manager and he was a very nice guy. The cleanliness of this gym has had a complete 360 in this past few months with the hiring of a new GM, the firing of the old cleaning crew, and the hiring of of a new cleaning crew.
I'm the past week though the area supervisor successfully ran off the best management this place has had in 5 years. The dude is a joke! He's always running off their good employees.

I've been a member here for the better part of 7 years. Management needs to learn what "clean" is. They recently had a cleaning day and you can't even tell. The brand new restroom floors already look disgusting due to lack of mopping. I have never seen the gym floor scrubbed. None of the machines are ever thoroughly cleaned by staff whatsoever. If the people working here call this clean I'd hate to see what their homes look like. 🤢🤮🤮🤮
As for Vasa's response your maintenance team that was recently hired has been doing a great job keeping equipment functional. He's there pretty much everyday working on something I even saw him there on Thanksgiving.
This location used to have staff that would actually leave the desk and go through the cardio equipment wiping it all down and thoroughly cleaning the machines. Now the machines all have like a half an inch of dust and yuck hair and all kinds of stuff on them. It's pretty disgusting. The locker rooms could use fresh coat of paint because there's boogers and luggies and all kinds of nasty stuff stuck on the walls. Vasa should consider hiring actual cleaning crews like EOS has. If you enter the EOS in Ogden during the day there's always a crew going around closing off sections and cleaning them thoroughly That includes scrubbing the floor in the section

I was invited to an impromptu Sunday pilates class with Cammie. It was such a fun class and I felt it afterwards. I have gone to this gym for years and have enjoyed it immensely. 2 incredible features were recently-ish added that have made it the only gym I go to; the power lifting area with the incredible squat racks, power pads, and bumper plates. Second is the studio-red which is a high intensity training of sorts, you can make it as easy or as difficult as you would like and the class has some amazing coaches but specifically crystal! Crystal is absolutely outstanding, enthusiastic, and a great coach, even at 5:30 in the morning! Highly recommend.

I have had Mandy as a Personal trainer for since January. She has been fabulous. Her work to strengthen my knees have really helped my mobility. It has been a great change in my health. She works with both my wife and me. It is an hour of hard work and friendship. I would highly recommend if for anyone who doesn't know where to start with weight training.
At Mandy's suggestion we started the Studio Red classes with Jenny. I have really enjoyed these classes and do them twice a week. Jenny is the best. She takes time to chat and help everyone in the class as we are huffing and puffing together. (At least this old out of shape guy is huffing and puffing, everyone else not so much)

The worst basketball court ever
Easily the dustiest and unkept court I have ever seen or played on in over 30 years, an injury waiting to happen even wearing brand new anti slip basketball shoes it’s like an ice rink, gym shoes worn outside shouldn’t be allowed inside the racquetball or basketball courts at all.

The gym is very dirty.
There is debris in the hot tub and pool.
Multiple lockers are broken, and appear to have unknown dried substances in them. The men's bathroom looks like it has dried blood in multiple lockers and areas of the walls and flooring and baseboards.
There appears to be mold growing by the pool. A lot of the equipment has dust, chalk, sweat, prints, pieces of skin--you name it--it hasn't been cleaned by a user or an employee.
There's multiple people at the counter--they should be going around wiping equipment down that's not in use. Put a sign up for 1-2 minutes and clean the bench/weights/joints/hinges/handles.
It's just gross all around. I wish someone would call the health department to do an inspection. They'd be closed so quickly for biohazard/environmental concerns/public health safety reasons.

Update: Got an email and phone call and from a rep 2 weeks ago, just said they would send my concerns to a "local manager", ie they dont care, no follow up or improvements, par for the course from VASA...
I have been a member of the Ogden location since they opened several years ago and the same problems exist no matter how many times I bring them up to front desk staff, online chat reps, managers or supervisors. The following problems have been addressed dozens of times and they simply DO NOT CARE to fix them:
Gym cleanliness, especially the locker rooms is non-existent. I have been told a cleaning crew comes in afterhours and thoroughly cleans the locker rooms and the workout areas. If that is true, management is getting ripped off and they should hire Musk/DOGE to do an audit of these supposed "cleaning crews" as major fraud is occurring for what VASA is paying them.
Membership rules are NEVER enforced. Everything from members not re-racking their weights, not wiping down machines when done, not picking up their trash, not SHOWERING BEFORE going in the pool/hot tub(which is part of the contract you sign), members utilizing amenities that are not part of their purchased membership level(theft of services), to young children working out who are obviously under 12 and not scanning a membership card when entering, you name it, it all goes on and has been allowed to go on for so long the front desk staff wouldn't know where to begin to try and enforce which is posted throughout the gym and in members contracts.
I could go on and on, but for past 8+ years every time I have brought up these issues and more I have been given the
"we will look into it" and "thanks for bringing this to our attention", nothing improves, it just gets worse. I only hope another competitor opens and takes pride in their facility. If you have ever visited the Clinton location of VASA, you know what I am talking about, night and day difference. Very hard to believe a company would allow the Ogden location to get so dilapidated .
Also, VASA, the numerous 5 star Google reviews for the Ogden location with nothing written and no other reviews, you aren't fooling anyone with those bots/made up accounts.

Equipment is in disrepair; most treadmills in the cinema are broken, several machines have ruined seats/cushions.
It's always packed to capacity. The parking lot literally has dudes pulling their trucks and jeeps up onto curbs. With their only comparable competitor being EOS they don't have to keep much of a standard.

I've been an (almost daily) regular at the 12th Street VASA since roughly 2018, and I must say that the decline in maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall culture I've experienced at this location in the last 2-years is devastating.
My concerns echo those of the most recent reviews of this location so I will just add that when you try and speak to the staff about issues or safety concerns, the message is clear & consistent across all staff on multiple shifts:
"We know it's bad. We tell corporate all the time. There is nothing we can do."
I've wanted to stay loyal to this location but, as someone who uses the gym as my main tool in sobriety, after finding beer bottle caps stuck on/into several pieces of equipment this morning - I'm done.

Let me just start by saying that the amount of money that I’ve wasted has been astounding. I was in a great position in life where I could do more thing and afford the membership and pt session. Well my PT quits and I got no notice. It was probably 2-3 weeks before somebody had told me. At that point I felt like my contract should have been invalid but no. trying to cancel with them is like pulling teeth. I was in a car wreck in September and hurt my knees which weren’t doing so well to begin with. Because these things I knew I couldn’t go back until I healed up. I freezed my membership and haven’t been back in the gym since then. I went to cancel only to be told that since I was still on a or plan I couldn’t without paying $100 along with the 25 cancellation fee. They don’t care about your health or wellness they just want you to waste your time and money.

Overall a decent gym but ,Please do something about people wearing street shoes in the sauna and steam room for these reasons. You should not wear shoes in a steam room; it is considered poor etiquette and unhygienic to bring outdoor shoes into a steam room as it can spread bacteria and dirt; most people opt to go barefoot or wear dedicated flip-flops or sandals only used in the steam room.
Key points about wearing shoes in a steam room:
Hygiene concerns: Shoes track dirt and bacteria from outside, contaminating the steam room environment.

Very frustrated with the negative personal training experience. **Please take caution if you are considering this.** They are SO nice and very knowledgeable, but under delivered on such an expensive program. I was promised personal workouts catered to my needs, personal nutrition specific to me, as well as in-body scans frequently. After 6 weeks of attending I still had not received these promised items, even after repeatedly asking.
Aside from this, VASA has terrible customer service with no manager or supervisor available to talk to that could help resolve problems. When I finally opted to adjust my training program since it wasn’t being fulfilled, I was told it was $15 to freeze for only 3 months. If I wanted to freeze again, it would be another $15! Naturally I was never informed of this. Quite the money pit and really doesn’t feel uplifting or helpful like a gym should. Would NEVER recommend personal training at VASA to anyone. Not worth it at all.

Just because I am leaving behind a post also I want to mention that I have been coming to this vasa location for very many years and the lady's bathroom is always a mess ,dirty and never stocked with toilet paper or soap . Machines are all dusty on top. There is absolutely no customer service most of the time , front end employees but a a couple never greet you and they all appear with no desire to be there or even live all together . It's really frustrating that I want to start a day on a healthy side and in general have a great day by doing a healthy activity before i go to work but my life it's controlled by someone who can manage to wakeup in time or give some respect to the employer who pays him a living

If I could give zero stars I would. VASA is not a good gym. My husband called the member service to cancel our membership in July. They said they got it all cancelled and we were good. We then got a call today, in November, about my husband going to collections due to not paying $262. No calls from VASA, emails, texts, or anything about this apparent balance. Just the call from the collections department. When we called VASA’s billing department about this, they said our membership was never cancelled. They acknowledged fault but said we will still have to pay the fee and will not be refunded due to the membership not being cancelled. This is ridiculous and no body was helpful. TERRIBLE GYM!!!

I really love this gym, but I also have some major qualms. I’ve been going for a long time and I like the variety of equipment, how people are generally respectful and give each other space, etc. The basic membership plan is at a good price; I think anything more is far too expensive for me but I don’t want classes so I can’t speak to the value. Now, I’d love to give feedback in the app to not make issues so public but that isn’t an option. The main problem is that unless you’re going right when they open, this place is painfully busy. I’m glad so many Ogden folks are staying active and healthy but it is really irritating to have to sit and wait to use machines or gear when there’s plenty of space for duplicate machines to be added. There’s also lots of equipment that I’ve rarely if ever seen touched in my 2 years of going here, so that could be piled up somewhere less in the way so copies of more popular stuff can be added. There’s also a large, fenced-off and locked private training area that is almost never used, and really nice equipment just sits there unavailable to the paying members unless you request one-on-one training. I honestly wish competition gyms would open up near by to syphon off some of the traffic haha. Tied to the busy-ness is parking; it’s way too small of a lot but they can’t help the fact they are right next to a Chick-fil-a that has essentially taken over the area lol. So I literally will go as early as humanly possible to avoid having drive laps waiting for someone to make a car spot available and then just continue to linger inside in a hopefully not-creepy way while I wait for the machines/equipment I need to become available. Other minor issues include the fact dumbbells and cable machines have missing weight numerals, the water refill stations don’t have the cleaning light enabled which leads me to think that the filters are never changed, and they used to have bands and other small things available behind the desk but apparently people kept stealing it so now you can’t request resistance bands or other little stuff like that. But overall this place remains one of the better gyms Ive ever had a membership at.

People wearing shoes and socks in the steam sauna, was a deal breaker for me. It was like steaming a strangers socks and inhaling the fumes, I almost puked. I ended up getting a Hair follicle infection after using their hot tub due to people wearing their sweating gym clothes in it like a human crock pot. I’ve used the red light therapy numerous times and the same sweat stain has been on the inside plastic wall for at least two weeks. I have contacted the company as instructed about getting a discounted rate which is provided from working for the hospital and still haven’t heard back. Super busy with people talking, taking up space and equipment. For how big this place is and the potential it has, it fell short quick. 2 stars cause some of it isn’t the business it’s the clientele.

Staff is always turning the lights off 5 and 10 minutes before closing, leaving the gym almost pitch black for seconds at a time with no warning. Seems like a very big safety concern and a lawsuit waiting to happen when you have people using equipment and lifting heavy weights.

The gym was fine but if you try to cancel it’s next to impossible they wouldn’t let me in person and no one would answer the phone. It charged me 54$ when the cancellation fee is only supposed to be 25$

I love the kidcare here! I chose this gym specifically because they had kidcare but was nervous about it before starting. They have been amazing! We've been coming here for 7 months and my kids love it. My baby who is VERY attached to me, almost jumps out of my arms from excitement to see the teachers, and my toddler asks every single day to go to the gym. We would absolutely recommend the kidcare. The only reason I wouldn't is because I'm selfish and don't want it to get too crowded 😅❤️

Charlie and Noah are always super welcoming and friendly. They’re always watching over everyone and making sure that the trainees are feeling welcomed and hyped up. They never hesitate to help when they see it, and they’ll always lend a helping hand. Truly exemplary trainers.
