Trying to cancel your membership without being hit with multiple unknown charges is impossible, happened to my 2 friends and my brother in law too. Whenever you ask the workers for help, they just refer you to the email customer service which is impossible to get a hold of or get anything resolved.

All gyms are scummy and want the most money possible, but vasa has hit a new low. My buddy has a basic pass for a vasa at a different location, and if we want to lift together, one of us just has to pay the extortion fee of 15 dollars for a day pass.
But apparently you can't buy a day pass anymore if you have a pass already. I can't understand the logic of that. My buddy had to drive 20 minutes just to to be told he can't go in the gym unless he pays more than double a month than he already does.
Also, at this location specifically, machines will go broken for weeks and the equipment is quite run down. I wonder where all the money goes.
The only thing that vasa has going for it is that it's the closest gym to my house.

VASA vs EOS Fitness
I’ve been a VASA member for about 7 years total and an EOS member for a little under 2 years, and I just wanted to share some thoughts after spending time at both. Honestly, I’m way more impressed with EOS right now. Their gyms feel newer and better maintained, while with VASA it really depends on which location you go to — some are decent, others feel pretty run down.
I’ll give VASA credit for their lighting and how they set up their free weight area — I actually like that layout better, and I wish EOS would copy that. But when it comes to how each gym treats their members, EOS wins by a mile. EOS lets you cancel anytime as long as you give them a month’s notice. VASA makes you wait at least 6 months from when you start before you can even cancel, which just feels unnecessary.
Another thing — EOS includes the sauna in their basic membership, while VASA now keeps a lot of theirs locked behind more expensive plans. Little stuff like that adds up and really shows how differently the two gyms value their customers.
EOS is also open 24/7, which is a huge plus if you like working out late or early.
Right now, I still have a VASA pass because I moved from Salt Lake County to Utah County and VASA was just easier to find — there’s only one EOS in Orem. But with all the changes VASA’s been making, I’m planning to switch back to EOS soon. They just seem to be heading in a much better direction.

They added these scanners about a year for all the exclusive pool equipment. The door doesn’t even close, anybody can enter. Steamroom haven’t been working great in about 1yr. I heard they are gonna redo both sauna & steam room.

This gym sucks. Ita always slammed. Equipment is never in its proper place. Benches, dumbbells, cable attachments, are in random places around the gym. The staff doesn't clean. They dont keep the gym organized. The turf is always ripped up. 25% of cardio is broken. I only go here because I get a family discount. Otherwise Id find another gym.

They said they accidentally sold me personal training, but can’t fix it because corporate won’t let them and now going to collections and court for $1500. They think I should just pay and do the training. Update: Finally got this fixed after 6 months and lost gym fees. No apology and no credit for months I couldn’t go because of an outstanding balance.

That being said, VASA as a business is predatory and is looking to suck money out of you in any way possible. I just canceled my membership, and the only way to do so is to essentially buy another month.
For those cancelling within 6 months, its even more expensive to cancel. Then, there are the fees. Quarterly fees that add up and make the monthly sub look way less enticing.
I made the mistake of paying for private lifting sessions through VASA. The coach was nice enough, but long story short, I ended up paying much, much more with no recourse because nothing was "documented", even though I had expressly talked with the VASA employees about the situation, multiple times. If I had known I would need to record every single conversation had in-person, then I would have I guess. Felt pretty bad.
Overall, I would not recommend giving this company any money. If they change and become honest business people, then maybe. But as of now, just another greedy vampire cosplaying as a company.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Recently I’ve been getting texts about past due payments on my old account, an account I cancelled months ago since I was moving out of the state. I was given a phone number to update my payment info to take care of the balance. I called the number and explained that I had cancelled months ago. The customer service agent was extremely rude and condescending. He said there was nothing they could do without “proof” of cancellation. I said that I went in person to cancel and that there must’ve been a mistake. He again was very rude and said he couldn’t do anything about it unless I paid the past due balance. Now they are expecting me to pay for a membership I haven’t been using for months and threatening to send my account to collections. Horrible customer service and horrible cancellation process. Go lift somewhere else.

Lots of screen staring and not enough training at this joint. A lesson in picking up after yourself would be a great addition to the enrollment process.
Below is a pic of how the plates should be stored on the racks. Please mark the racks to reflect how they properly fit. Also, train members and staff that leaving equipment laying all over the floor in unacceptable and rude. If you see something out of place, it's YOUR responsibility to put it away properly.

I am a basic member since 2022 and I upgraded my membership to fitness because I like being in the steam room after I worked out but until now they haven't fix it yet it's been a while since it broken.
So,I decided to cancel my membership because I couldn't get into the amenities for what I paid for.
And still they want to charge me for 2 months after I cancelled it!
It's ridiculous policy!

(2023) 1st day disappointment :(
First day I walked in and signed up for the membership plan that included the pool usage. I proceeded to work out for the next hour and realized in reality I would never use the pool. When my workout ended I walked up to the front desk and said I'd actually like the lower membership fee because if I'm being honest with myself I'm not going to be using the pool. She consults with her manager 25 ft away, and returns and says that's impossible, he won't allow it. I get it I know what I initially signed up for, but after working out and contemplating it for an hour I changed my mind. And instead of them allowing me to make a change an hour later and allowing me to becomw a supported and advocate for the gym, I'm now only a simple user with a bad taste in my mouth from day one.
And how am I supposed to contact you. Who? How, it's all vague, all the replies here are vague, no solution replies.

Background: it's 2023, I sign up for a *month to month account, was quickly dissappinted. A month or two goes by, front desk says there was a problem with my billing info and my account was cancelled. I repeat, he used the word Cancelled. I thought it was weird, but literally 2 days later I get into a motor bike accident, can't walk, long road to recovery, took over a year to walk straight, didn't need a gym anyway, after all my account had been "cancelled." Guess who just got a notice from collections for over $300 owed? This guy. What does the word "cancelled" mean to Vasa? Also, the "contact us" number on their website, goes to a third party who says coldly: "sorry there is nothing we can do." WTH guys!? I don't live there, who am I supposed to contact? So much for qualifying for that home mortgage now with a crappy hit on my credit report, seriously. And I've read through these reviews, with the "Please reach out to us" reply. Problem is we all did reach out to you, and got told "there is nothing we can do" and this is our last resort to leave some crappy review because we were tested like crap, or if we were told one thing, but it wasn't true, there is no accountability. Not a way to run a client run business to give the run around to paying clients. Or take a "who cares" attitude for those that left and move on. Maybe small claims court is the next step. Wing told it was cancelled then wake up to a collection notice over a year later. Then someone as VASA will be forced to be inconvenienced like us

Aqua Zumba with Argentina gives me an intense workout that is easier on my injured ankle than a land class would be. Argentina makes it fun and interactive. Her Zumba routines are so much fun. I only wish we had more than one class a week with her. Tuesdays at 6pm for a fun intense workout in the pool.

Went to the North Orem Vasa today for my workout and was so disappointed. I’ve been debating whether to cancel my Vasa membership for some time, and today might have pushed me to cancel for good. I went in to do a shoulder workout and made my way to the back grass area. There were NO free weights for me to use. The lowest on the rack was 40. So I walked over to the middle grass area in hopes of finding some lower weights and there were NONE. No 5, 10, 15, or 20 lb dumbbells. At this point I was beyond annoyed because I only had time for a 45 minute workout and was SEARCHING the gym for weights to use, rather than working out. Ridiculous. It was also 10:30AM on a Friday, so it wasn’t crazy busy, so where is all the equipment to use?! When I returned to the back grass area, I saw a couple more dumbbells available, but one side of them was missing the plastic covering and all the metal was exposed so it was an uneven dumbbell to use. CRAP equipment, awesome. I ended up doing a quick 20 min body weight circuit and left because I was so frustrated. Vasa is really good at keeping good dumbbells for all of their classes, because those memberships cost MORE. I wish that Vasa would treat all levels of memberships with importance and provide DECENT & BASIC equipment for those not paying for Studio Red. Which they SHOULD be because they are a GYM for crying out loud. I’ve had multiple experiences like this, but today was my breaking point. I pay a monthly fee to be a member at Vasa and can’t even complete a workout there. My younger sister also goes to the North Orem Vasa in the evening, so I talked to her after my “workout” and asked her if she is able to find and use free weights when she goes to the gym. My jaw dropped when she responded and said that she ordered some dumbbells from Amazon and brings them with her in a gym bag to ensure she can complete her workout. Vasa doesn’t provide enough good quality free weights that my sister (who pays a monthly membership) purchased dumbbells to bring with her to the gym. I am so annoyed and shocked with Vasa’s standards. It’s truly embarrassing for them. Save yourself your sanity and time, and get a gym membership somewhere else.

This location does not have a scale to use unless you ask permission, then the employee has to input a secret code, then you have to have the highest membership level to use the scale.

They did not have enough free weight equipment for me to use. As a result my workouts were never what I was wanting to do, and I often had to leave before I was finished. Also, I was charged a fee that I should not have been charged. I talked to the financial folks and the managers, and no one was willing to work with me or be flexible. They had taken my money and they were not going to give it back. In my opinion they stole from me, their customer service was inflexible, uncaring, and greedy, and I will never use them again. Also the environment is a meat market. Stay away from this place!

I love this location. Upgrade to the studio membership! It’s well worth it (but please make sure you ask all contractural questions if you do!) The studio, flow, and group fitness classes become your community. I love my yoga family here! Such a special energy, I get excited each week just to see my people. 🥰

At the end of December 2024 I joined VASA as a "Studio" member, not just a "basic" member; I'm so glad I did! Since joining I have attended 8 Studio Red classes and a Studio Flow (Deep Stretch) class; they have been very well conducted. Dax, Audra, Chelsea, and Julio have been fantastic!
The facility is clean and well taken care of. The equipment I have used has been in full operational order. The check-in process is fast (scan your barcode), and scheduling the Studio Red and Studio Flow classes on my phone is simple and straightforward.
IF you are considering becoming a member, make sure you understand the ins and outs of the financial aspects of being a member. Read the other comments here and learn from them. Is it uber-complicated? No, but there are processes if you want to make changes. Next, get a "complimentary pass" and use it, see what it's like for you. I would really caution you, however, on basing the decision on 1 visit... see if you can come 2 or 3 times, see if you can attend a Studio Red or Studio Flow class... I don't know that you can, but it can't hurt to ask.
If you DO become a member (congratulations!), utilize all the amenities available to you, maximize your membership, get as much out of it as you can.

Great work Vasa. unfortunately my wheelchair almost slipped into the pool from a nasty wet spot. If it wasnt for my ability to swim, I could have died. Luckily the wheel chair never slipped, and I can indeed swim. Great location, that is clean and well staffed and supportive of people like mee.

I love the North Orem VASA! Best gym with the friendliest staff. I have been a member for seven years and now I’m part of management with the company. If I could give Vasa zero stars I would…. Literally the worst gym I’ve ever been to. Always crowded with wanna be gym influencers who don’t understand personal space. I’ve been going to Vasa for years and recently cancelled my membership (thank the lord almighty!) they are so down bad for customers that they THREATEN you by saying “if you cancel, we will charge you more next time”. OK CHILL. the fees are ridiculous. You pay a monthly membership fee of like $10 but then they charge you $60 one time a year for a lock in rate….whatever that means. Don’t waste your time here.

This gym is unbelievably crowded. Everytime I go I circle the parking lot several times to find a parking spot and I wait in a line to use basically anything besides the free weights. The locker room is disgusting and could use a hot pressure wash. There’s mold in the corners and there is usually trash in the lockers. On top of all this, there is no over site of the sauna and steam room and people are always messing with the sensors making it unbearably hot or steamy. I was severely burned last week on my arm because the door by the coals was so hot. My jewelry even burned my body. I’m hoping to find a smaller gym that actually has some control over their facility. This one is the wild Wild West…

Update: Last year the wonderful PACKED Sunday yoga classes came to and end. Now it's an extra fee and a small class. This was my favorite Sunday activity and Tanya was the best yoga teacher in Orem. Little reason to go to this gym over and of the others nearby now.
Great new facility, and very clean so far.
I go for yoga mostly, and there's often a good mix of people participating, and so far I like the instructors at this location.

I've been so impressed with the North Orem Vasa. The kid care is amazing. Madison has created a fun, safe environment. My children love to go there. The classes are so fun, with wonderful teachers. The amenities are very nice, and taken care of. My favorite class is Studio Red. Each of the teachers have been amazing, and are so helpful with my form as well as pushing me to do my best. Thank you Shannon, Brooke, and Leslie especially!

Besides me having to engage the employee instead of the employee engaging with me, signing up was easy. With many places receiving bad reviews from angry people, i would have not came to this location at all. The gym being clean and organized was a major factor in becoming a member. Would recommend Vasa over EOS. My review is based off the clean gym, working equipment and organized equipment not off of feelings over new installed scanners

Love the staff and atmosphere, HOWEVER they are changing things up. Everything is locked now and you have to scan to get into every area. The scanners barely work and are frustrating. I’ve noticed they put the scanners in and are trying to make everyone upgrade their membership as a money grab. Feels like their goals now are money first and members second.

The gym is fine. I only ever used the pool, but it's fine.
But DON'T GO HERE, unless you want really expensive memberships.
I only needed a gym for a few months. The sales guy signed me up for the high end membership for the first free month, but you can't just change it. When you change your membership plan, it takes 2 months before you can change it again.
Overall I've been very disappointed with the billing and decided to just cut it clean. However, with all the hidden fees and everything it cost me over $100 just to CANCEL my membership. I would have saved hundreds of dollars if I had just kept going to my local city gym.
Just know that there's a lot more fees than just the monthly membership, and you won't even see them coming.

To me it seems a lot like Vasa keeps customer retention through friction, not just through the hidden fees but also the intentionally difficult cancellation process, along with the unyielding customer support which I suspect is systemically intentional.
Also, I canceled my subscription a week ago or so, and for some reason it still hasn’t gone through. I received another monthly bill today, in effect causing me to pay $75 in total just to cancel!
EDIT: in all fairness, they did actually respond and helped me cancel, so I’ll give credit where credit is due. +1 star.

I’m going there every 2 days, i love their spa, recovery room with hydromassage lounges!! They’re AMAZING!! But there’s always 1 BUT.. And it’s about cleanliness of the locker rooms..Lots of hair on the floor, in the lockers as well..The floor is made of such weird material that you can’t see the dirt..They don’t earn alot to care much about the cleanliness..That’s why i give them 3 ⭐️s

Poor customer service
I have very few positive things to say about vasa fitness customer services. I had called 3 times and been on hold for over 20 minutes every time. Each time I have called it has been at different times of the day so I have a hard time believing that there is never anyone to talk to.
I had canceled my account months ago only to find that I was still being charged. So I blocked the charges on my banks end. After some investigation turns out I was being charged for my husbands account that was attached to mine. One of the not so helpful workers at our “home” gym had initially told me that when I canceled my plan any attached accounts, such as my husbands, would be canceled as well. Hence why I thought I shouldn’t still be getting charged. Obviously that all was a lie. So I opened the link that had been sent to me from the paramount collection services to just give them “their” money because I was sick of fighting this, it said my payment of about 70$ was accepted. So I hoped to be able to now finally get my husbands account canceled as well. We went into our, oh so helpful, “home” gym yet again only for them to tell us “they don’t know how to cancel a plan and can’t help us”. They gave us a sticky note with numbers on it and told us we’d need them to cancel the account and to go online and there should be a button. So do they really not know how?
Anyways, I am now angry and frustrated and feel very lied to. If you have money to spare go ahead and enjoy VASA but know it will be more money than you’re told upfront.

The gym and its staff are fantastic, deserving a 5-star rating. However, the financial customer service department is severely lacking in terms of helpfulness and courtesy, especially when they overcharge customers.
A word of caution: avoid parking next to the building, against the wall or after 10 p.m., as your vehicle may be towed. The tow truck driver's girlfriend parks in these areas intentionally waiting for unsuspecting individuals to park there, promptly calling the tow truck once they leave. This practice can result in unexpected and substantial expenses, including a $400 fee to retrieve your vehicle.
This gym will cost you much more than you expect.

This gym is relatively good... the staff are some of the best staff Ive had the pleasure of speaking with at a gym...but Ive about had enough with its bathrooms being consistently disgusting... sure, thats a testament to how lazy, inconsiderate and just plain gross the men are that go here, and its not the responsibility of the staff to clean up other people's bathroom messes... but, having a cleaning crew come once per 24 hrs in the middle of the night doesnt cut it... a cleaning crew that obviously isnt detail oriented even outside the bathroom.

I frequent a few different vasas and they all have their different pros and cons . The only thing I keep wishing when I come to the 1600 N location is that the sauna was hotter. I have to be in it for so long before even beginning to break a sweat and another location I go to, Im dripping sweat upon walking in . Shout-out to the employees at 1600 though , so friendly and outgoing . Another location I go to during the week early in the morning the employees look so sad everyday when I go at 6am. Anyway , pros and cons . Great gyms 👍🏼

Great gym with a good atmosphere. Equipment is typically always working and they are quick to do repairs. The only thing that is stopping me from giving this place a 5 star is their enforcement of rules. Somebodies gotta do something about people going completely barefoot and walking around the gym. I have a hard time putting my hands down on the turf knowing that somebodies nasty toe jam was probably there first.
I understand the concept behind barefoot training but people need some help understanding that a commercial gym is probably not the place for it. Please employees, provide some social awareness tips to these folks.

I have been very happy overall with my experience at VASA. My main reason is to have a coach that keeps me accountable and corrects my errors on my exercises. Só far the training staff has been very good and do recommend them to others.
I do have to call the customer service on my membership fees and dues time to time. The last incident was during my temporary freezer. My account was reactivated without my approval. We were able to resolve very quickly and was able to reconcile the difference on future payment, which is still pending as of now.
The Orem facilities is very clean and I am very happy with the men's room. There are plenty of showers that have been serviceable and clean with the ones that use. Also, the gym is in the same manner.
