I visited this location for the first time on a day when the North Orem location was having the bathroom sinks replaced in their women’s locker room, and I enjoyed every second of it! That initially seeming inconvenience ended up being a blessing in disguise, as I was able to learn that their’s is a great VASA facility, as well.

They, too, have the hydromassagers here (and several of them, at that) instead of the premium massage chairs! And my preference is Definitely, the VASA hydromassagers, if I were to have my pick between the two types. And their steam room is Not for the faint of heart, as the steam can get SUPER duper steamy (in an awesome sorta way, though, hehe)! Additionally, their large and spacious [women’s] locker room has Three changing rooms available, instead of just one, as well as comfy armchairs.

Their weekday hours of operation also seem to be more extensive than that of some of the other locations (if I’m not mistaken). So overall, this is a great VASA Fitness center that I’d recommend. My only critique is that their [women’s] locker rooms could use more thorough, detailed cleaning. Or, perhaps instead, more frequent cleanings. As the bathroom sinks, showers, locker interiors, and locker area benches never really look or feel all that much cleaner than they appeared on previous visits.

My favorite squat press machine has been broken since this last summer. (Which by the way, they only have ONE)
I called to see when they’d get it resolved & the supervisor said they were waiting on parts and also getting a new one was in the talks. (This was months ago.)
They got a whole bunch of new cardio machines a couple weeks ago but couldn’t replace this one? …
My second complaint is, the lack of options for membership choices here. I come here to workout and drop my kids off. I don’t use Studio Red so the fact I have to pay for it and pay almost $85 for my membership is absurd. But I have to have a studio membership in order to get Kid Care here—They won’t let you pay for just a basic membership and add Kidcare on that. So really, they do rip people off. Although I’ve been coming here for years, I literally would not recommend to anyone and as soon as I find a better option for a gym I will be leaving Vasa all together because of their ridiculous fees and lack of membership options. Oh and then that $5 revive “credit” you get doesn’t even roll over yet it’s your own money they basically take right out or your membership amount.
Also if you’re new to the gym and struggle lifting weights cause maybe age or injury or something, beware that most of these college kids do not un rack their weights so you not only have to do the work of your own weights, but also other peoples 🤷‍♀️

The positive is the front desk workers are always super sweet, but that really is about the only good thing about this gym.

Showed up this morning at 6:30am (not even that early) and no one was here??? Like a bunch of cars were waiting outside and the openers just didn’t show up? What’s up with that? You can’t run a gym where you close early and then not show up to open up early when people NEED to workout.

🚨VASA SCAMS! I signed up months ago at 25/month with no sign up fee. Today I was billed an additional $80 out of the blue. When signing I asked if there would be any additional fees, and the employee said that there would not be. Lies! When calling they said they would not refund, and it was some
sort of “rate fee”(whatever the hell that is) in the contract. I heard bad things about this gym and I wished I listened. (Additionally, vasa gyms are extremely crowded, and you will often see lines waiting to use dumbbells, squat racks, and bench presses. You’re extremely lucky if you can somehow get your hands on a cable machine.) worst gym I have ever been to!!!

Edit: I was also told there was no cancellation fee when I asked, surprise! There is. More lies and deception.

I had a membership with Vasa for a while and loved using the facilities in Orem and AF. Lots of nice equipment and a great basketball court. I had to cancel my membership when my wife and I got married, and the process was pain free.

I recently decided to sign up for a membership again, and I was looking forward to coming back. I did not realize that 3 weeks later I would be getting a second job. With 2 jobs, school, and a baby on the way, I no longer had free time to go to the gym. This time around it cost me nearly $100 to cancel my membership. This seems pretty unfair and unnecessary, and I think VASA knows it. Their app says that you cannot cancel in person or over the phone. It’s a lot easier to rip someone off if you don’t have to hear their voice.

Edit/update: you can see Vasa replies to bad reviews- doesn't make a difference. steam is still not dependable and the staff still doesn't check when opening nor do they have a remedy or update on workorders.

Original: Is a working steam room too much to ask for? Or maybe just staff competent enough to turn it on in the morning ?

Wow, just wow... deep sighs!! I told the associates at this vasa fitness, that I was moving to Florida, in February of 2025. I told them I needed my membership canceled my last check out and that I will no longer be coming into this facility after that conversation.

I've been harassed by multiple companies to collect a debt that I never owed. It got to the point of a law office named aldous and associates emailing me every day, calling me every day over $251. How do they expect me to pay for a gym membership, and I never was there?? I left February, but they kept charging me & racked up this bill!

I then sent in a return receipt & notarized letter which I spent an extra $30 with evidence showing that I moved. I just got a call from them stating that they received the evidence and still deems the debt valid & that they mailed me the reason why. I said, huh? I DO NOT live there anymore and he just repeated himself without giving me the reason why?

I rented a penske truck spending over $3000!! So, it's not about the money. It's about me not being present at the gym. Why would you all continue to charge me when I never checked in!!?? This is ROBBERY and ultimately, YOU guys will pay!!!! Not me. The harassing over 7 months was uncalled for and unwarranted. Period. Fix this.

I resigned up in December with a joint plan informed it was a basic plan. So signed the paper but they charged me the level up plan. My app showed me it was basic the whole duration of my plan. I lost money and I never used my actual benefits with the plan. Mind you I signed up over the phone. I'm really disappointed. I stop my plan before this and had troubles canceling my plan but I thought I wouldn't hurt to sign up again as a faithful customer. But at this point over changing without information is poor quality.

I LOVED my experience at this Vasa! Kidcare is THE BEST! The girls there were always so kind and so cheerful and took good care of my baby while I got my workout in! Also the classes are so fun! Especially Studio Red is such a good workout and such an uplifting environment! This place was kind of a sanctuary for me postpartum and helped maintain my mental (and physical!) health as a new mom! Also they have a women’s only section of the gym which is nice! If you’re a mama trying to get in shape I’d highly recommend!

While I’ve had a good experience with the gym it self, this review is for my trainer Adam Cates. I was looking for some guidance since it had been a while since I’ve followed any program and within a few weeks I’ve noticed a significant improvement. He is super patient and understanding of what my goals are and most importantly doesn’t make you feel like another number. If you’re looking for a personable and supportive trainer he’s your guy!

I’ve been coming here for many years and unfortunately the same issues persist:

-The Men’s bathroom is always disgusting, smells like urine and the urinals frequently flood and spill onto the floor (and yes, all the men have to walk in it and are bringing it out to the rest of the gym area where people stretch and do whatever on the floor)
-patrons constantly ignoring the signs for where to put the dumbbells and curling bars
-employees are obviously mostly college students, and mostly ignore greeting you to instead talk to each other. They could also spend that time tidying up the gym.

I’ve been going to this gym for quite sometime now and though it’s a very busy gym the staff are always very kind. The front desk people are always cleaning or restocking things around the gym so that it stays organized and clean. My friend signed me up without my knowledge as a "gift" and then promptly removed his method of payment once he realsied how expensive it was. I told this to VASA customer care and they kept trying to charge me and refused to cancel any fees unless I provide a police report for fraud. I never agreed to any fees or terms, and they're still refusing to waive anything for me, when I've only been their mediocore gym all of 4 times. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life with robot calls trying to reach you instead of real prople. Do not sign up with this company becuase there are lots of hidden fees and will try to lock you into a contract, even if you didn't sign it! Will have to take this company to a small claims court to get them to leave me alone. Worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. It shouldn't take legal action to resolve an issue like this, totally unacceptable.

There's this old guy who hogs a cable station for like an ENTIRE HOUR if not longer. No big deal if he was pumping iron, but he is having a social session with all his old buddies! Sometimes it looks like he's not using a thing cause he's been chatting with someone for 10 minutes and someone goes to use 1 of the 3 cables he's hogging and then he stops to tell them he's still using it.

THIS IS NOT SOCIAL HOUR! If you wanna chat for 30 minutes, get off 2 of the 3 cables. Seriously sometimes it gets busy and people are waiting around.

The solution? Someone please beat this guy to his station and make throw off his groove. Do YOUR entire workout where he normally is so he can see how it feels.

Crowded in the mornings. Like, searching up and down the parking lot for a parking space crowded. Even checking the meter on Google that tells you how busy the business currently is- it's not accurate. When it says "It's a little busy" that means the parking lot is already full. Pretty good early Saturday mornings and so nice on Sundays.
Once you get inside, it can be hard to get a chance to use certain machines/equipment that they don't have a lot of- like assisted pull-up, smith, hip thrust machine, hip adductors and abductors- even squat racks can be scarce. The turf area is usually crowded as well and hard to get a space on without feeling like you're bumping elbows with someone else.
Otherwise, it's a pretty good gym. Good amenities, wide selection of machines, clean locker rooms and showers, friendly staff. I wish the showers had a shelf in them. Just one little surface that I could set a bottle of soap on.
But I honestly don't think I would still go to this gym if it weren't so close to where I work.

They definitely only care about the money and have endless ways of ringing it out of you. My boyfriend has said that they have charged him 2-3 times a month for the last few months and each time he’s called and asked about it they just say “oops sorry, won’t happen again”, but I believe it is intentionally done to just see if people will notice.

I signed up for the fitness membership for $25/mo because their basic for $10/mo came with a $100 enrollment fee. I decided I would switch to a basic after 6 months (they add a fee if you want to change memberships before then) but now 6 months later they have increased their prices $5 all around so I will just be switching to another gym. They did however require that I would have to pay for next month as well since they require a 30 day notice. I understand the principle of that but the reason why they do it is to just get more money out of anyone who is trying to get out of their little web they’ve spun.

Don’t forget about the $15 fee for if you want to pause your membership! Or the annual fee in addition to the enrollment fee. (They usually have deals waiving one fee or the other to gloss over all the different ways they charge you).

They pressure you A LOT into taking other deals, getting personal trainers, and all that even though I always tell them I am a full time student and legitimately cannot afford anything more than what I am paying for.

I would have rated them one star except it is a decent gym with a lot of room and a lot of different options available so you will definitely be able to try any workout you want, so long as it’s not so crowded you have to wait for every machine (*cough* it’s often overcrowded except between 1:30&3). And although I have not had bad experiences with equipment, I have heard many other complaints from people that things break easily and take a long time to repair.

I moved 30 minutes away from the gym so it no longer made sense for me to have a membership. I stop payed the account because they would not help me at all with cancelling my membership and now they have sent me to collections for $228 that I don’t owe them because I was tried three separate times when I was in town to get assistance closing my membership with this scum company. Would not recommend ever doing a membership here. Find a gym that’s not going to try to screw you because you no longer can use their membership.

They make it impossible to cancel your membership. After trying multiple times in the app, it took me to a page that told me to call their customer service number which I did. I waited on hold for 45 minutes and left my number for them to call back which they never did. Because of that multiple wee process I was within their 30 day policy of paying any fees upcoming within 30 days upon cancellation which included a $65 for their “rate guarantee” fee which I wouldn’t have had to pay had the app actually worked when I tried to cancel.
Besides that, the hidden fees make what they advertise as $10 per month to about $25 for your first year.

Edit: They contacted me and waived the fee.

If you are planning to renew your membership for the next year make sure that they don't charge you twice for their their annual fees. This is exactly what VASA fitness wants to do with my two members in my family with their accounts. Because it's my credit card they are using, I called customer service for some clarification and instead they just tell me that paying two annual fees is a good thing for my wife and daughter, blah, blah. When you try and talk common sense they get upset with you because their policy strictly says you have to pay the annual fee twice for those two member. The conversation reminds me something out of Charlie Brown, "Wah Wa Wa Wah Wa Wa." The good news, they told me, is that I can refer them as a friend.

Devin (blonde, old, looks like she smokes a pack a day) is the most insufferable vasa employee you could ever come to contact with. she takes no accountability and thinks she’s holier than thou.

i came to claim my boyfriends lost airpods case and the guy helping me said “i can only release them to you if the case connects to your phone”, i had explained i called earlier that day since my BF was on a trip, devin then steps in and said they couldn’t release them to me since i wasn’t the owner and they needed to connect to my phone to release it to me per vasa policy and since he wasn’t with me at the time, they couldn’t release them to me. fair i’ll take that. we left for a trip and didn’t come back till a week and a half later. when we came to claim them, they were pinging at a random house in orem. so they were given to someone else that wasn’t my boyfriend. if the policy they have in place works, they wouldn’t be at someone else’s house since they wouldn’t have paired with a different phone. devin was rude the entire time and didn’t apologize once. that’s the least she could do.
just an airpods case but it’s the principle.

This man whips out the mega phone anytime he closes half an hour before the gym shuts down. He runs the megaphone for a full minute, every 5 minutes, pointing it directly at customers from as near as 10 feet. He turns his music obnoxiously loud for the last hour before closing. It’s harassment, and it’s impossible to get a workout in with this guy around. He should not be permitted to work in any client facing industry. Vasa, if you fire him, I will become a lifelong platinum member and name my firstborn son after you. Please.

Also, Google trimmed my video to 30 seconds- it’s literally a two minute video.

I don’t give bad reviews, but vasa asked for a review so here it is: This gym used to be amazing when it first opened at this location (before name change). Since the changing of ownership, their customer service has really gone down. With the expansion came the cookie-cutter format. Many of us have emailed and given feedback but “corporate” wants it a certain way regardless of what their customers say. The focus on studio red is frustrating. Listen, if you want to keep members, stick to what we want: great instructors for group fitness classes (please pay them better) and clean facility/equipment (start with sweeping the hair off the floor). We pay hefty maintenance/facilities fees so please use it for that purpose instead of expanding your locations. With that said, I’m still a member because it’s close to my house.

Worst Sauna and steam room experience I’ve ever had.

Communal Sauna and steam rooms are a terrible idea to begin with, this one was just trash.
Nasty bright sterile white lights with two heating units that barely give off any heat.
Ever person coming in was listening to music loud on headphones, taking selfies, stretching, shadow boxing, chatting on the phone. One women even fell asleep.

I’ve been using saunas for the last handful of years and I’ve never been to a sauna like this.

Very very disappointing that Vasa seems to put effort into courts and classes but adds a sauna and steam room that might as well be a children’s daycare.

I would normal push past the annoyance but as stated before the heat units just didn’t do the trick. If you want to get heat shock protein benefit I would advise you stay clear of this sauna.

Soon you’ll have to scan to use each machine. Now you have to scan to get into the pool, a scanner for each sauna and steam room, scan for a class( which they took yoga away for a special more expensive membership) this place is going downhill very fast. Are you hurting for money that much vasa?! Do I need to scan to use the bathroom now? …. I wish that was a joke, but I’m expecting to see scanners at the urinals soon the way this place is “upgrading” so much

I had a bad experience with the older blonde employee working there. She made things very awkward with accusing my friends GF of sneaking in the gym when that wasn’t true. Kind of a weird incident that put a lot of unneeded attention on her for no reason. Could have been handled better.

The Orem 800 East VASA Fitness has much room to improve, the following issues need to be mentioned and addressed:

1. The bathrooms are usually extremely filthy and lack proper ventilation, hence the undesirable, rancid, smells.
2. Lame hours, no longer a 24 hour gym.
3. There are many reviews of rude and short tempered staff. One employee in particular especially stands out and is all too often specifically called out in poor conduct reviews. Devin, the blonde haired lady with the explosive temper, please note the following reviews from other VASA Fitness customers in regards to this unfit employee:

1. “My girlfriend and I went to VASA this morning and an employee (old lady with blonde hair) stopped us at the front because my girlfriend didn't have a picture on her account. She has been going for 4 years and they never made her add a picture until now. Instead of asking politely that she add a picture before entering, this employee started yelling at my girlfriend and accusing her of using an account that wasn't hers. My girlfriend calmly said it was her account and that she was happy to show ID to prove it but this employee just continued yelling and demeaning her. I have never met a more disrespectful and unprofessional employee in my life.”….

2. “ The old blonde haired lady is extremely rude and short tempered.”…

3. “ The blonde older woman who works the front desk (specifically Sunday March 10) is the absolute WORST customer service representative l've ever encountered.
She was so rude and unkind. Makes me never want to go to that gym ever again.”…

4. “Worst customer service ever! I called in a day before asking if there was an option to use my free trial pass a day after it expired because I wasn't able to make it that day, and they said that I could use it, that they were going to help me with no problems..
When I got there The front desk lady DEVIN was super rude and right away she told me to pay for the day pass because it was expired.. I told her about my call and the answer I got before and she only said "Debit or credit?" With the rudest face.. I repeated that I was told to come anyways and she said "we have a lot of new hires, so they didn't know". After I paid just because I didn't want to make my friend miss her workout) she looked at us in a racist way and said "I guess you're here just for the Zumba class" (just because we are Latinas).
Sadly, looking at previous reviews I see it's not something new, the blonde lady/Devin was mention in more than one review before, so l don't have any expectations to the service to be better soon.”…

5. My personal experience: Devin is EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL to current and potential VASA customers. Three weeks ago she got upset because I asked two very reasonable questions; 1. Will VASA ever go back to 24 hours, & 2. When will a broken piece of gym machinery be fixed? The result of asking this was that Devin quickly connipted into a fit of rage and yelled at me inches from my face, literally so close I could smell her breath. I told her that I would report her misconduct and she said that she didn’t care and knew there would be no repercussions, she told me that “she is in-bed with VASA Fitness management and can do whatever she wants.” I guess this makes sense, how could any employee get away with belittling and harassing so many VASA Fitness customers? After Devin’s anger conniption, another kinder employee came to me and apologized for her childish behavior. He said that she treats the fellow Vasa Fitness employees poorly as well, and that this was just her norm.

Devin, told me she wants me to switch gyms and that I am not welcome in her gym and that she is working on flagging my account for being nosy and asking too many questions. I have been a dedicated paying member for 10+ years now. I have never been so belittled or mistreated by any VASA Fitness personnel before, shame on you Devin, and shame on VASA Fitness for allowing this kind of abuse and harassment to happen to me and so many other customers.

Do not sign a membership here at all, they will give you the run around as they work their scam. They say you can cancel after 3 days but them absolutely make sure and give you false information until the time is up and you are stuck. They support themselves through ripping off college students and then still refuse to even work with you until several billing cycles later.

Canceling your account is impossible and you WILL have to pay for an entire month regardless of your billing cycle.
They take hours to call you back and no one in the building can help you. They are not allowed. Instead you HAVE TO go online or call (and wait hours for a call back)
The man on the phone was condescending as well.
The gym is over crowded and parking is difficult
The staff at this location are very nice though. And the trainers and nice as well.

Personally vasa fitness is always overcrowded especially between 4-8. At least this vasa fitness is bigger than other vasa fitness locations so the overcrowding isn’t as bad. Hours need to be longer so early birds or night owls can get a good lift.

This gym has its pros and cons! I’ve dealt with some creepy guys there but they also have the Lady Vasa section that is girls only. So I like that! The sauna isn’t as nice as other Vasa saunas, it was semi gross and a bunch of gross shirtless guys, not super lady friendly.
The equipment is pretty nice, and I like all of the different sections of the gym. It’s a bigger vasa and I definitely like that. A ton of cardio equipment which I love. 👍🏼

-all bench presses were being used w a line
-all free weight incline benches were being used w a line
-all cable machines (rows... lat pull downs...) being used too

There are crowded gyms, extremely crowded gyms, impossibly crowded gyms and then there is VASA. Want to find a parking spot? Prepare to see tons of cars circling around all the time as it is always full. Want to run? Their treadmills are always braking down or making funny noises. Want to lift weights/squat? good luck finding a free spot no matter the day/time of day/season. Barcode 3628106V.

Membership is affordable although the yearly fee is a bit ridiculous as it’s equal to 5 months of the membership. I could understand a first time fee so that people aren’t canceling and starting memberships all the time but I’ve had mine for over a year and have had to pay two yearly fees despite the fact that I’m clearly sticking around. I also would honestly rather pay a slightly higher membership each month than a yearly fee.

Edit: the blaring megaphone is not a myth. She screams unintelligible gibberish into it until people leave, even if there’s still time left.

I visited Vasa fitness in Riverton, UT in July 2023 to try it out and signed up for free trial online (Vasa staff helped me out).
Tried out 2-3 classes (that week) and never showed up again as the facility was crowded during the time I visited.
Recently I was notified from a collection agency that there is an outstanding amount of ~$500.
I am not sure why I am being billed when I didn’t sign up for a membership, and never visited any of the Vasa facility (after my free trial).
Just fyi the staff helped me setup my trial (on my phone), and never made me aware that they signed me up for a membership contract which will continue unless its canceled. (This is a deceptive business practice and consumer fraud). I myself never signed any contract with Vasa.

Also none of the hidden fees (like cancellation fee, return fee, 30 day notice fee) were disclosed to me and that clearly violates CA SB 313).
(just fyi i have been a CA resident since last couple of years, and these disclosures are required for CA customers)

When I go through other google reviews and BBB complaints it appears i am not the first one facing this issue (and looks like wont be the last one).

I would request the owner to help resolve this issue by dropping any outstanding charges else I will be forced to go ahead and file a complaint with Federal Trade commission, Utah DCP, CA attorney general, and Small claim court as well (if the need arise) to settle this

I tried reaching out to customer care yesterday (3 times) but even they are not wiling to work on this or help resolve the issue !!

Original Post 01/23/2024:
I had visited Vasa fitness in Riverton, UT in July 2023 (I think 31-July-2023) to try it out. There I was advised by the front desk to sign up for a free trial online (with no commitments).
I signed up there itself (staff helped me out), and then tried out 2-3 classes (that week). I didn’t like the facility (as it was overcrowded during the time I visited) and hence didn’t continue thereafter.
Recently I was notified that there is an outstanding amount of $XXX.
I am not sure why I am being billed when I didn’t sign up for a membership, and never visited any of the vasa facility after my free trial. Just fyi the staff helped me setup my trial (on my phone), and never made me aware that I am being signed up for a membership contract which will continue unless its canceled. (This is a deceptive business practice and consumer fraud).
Moreover it looks like the staff enrolled me into some sort of Vasa’s premium plan (how else the outstanding amount would go to ~$XXX in just 5 months). This not acceptable given the fact that I was never explained all of this (when all I wanted was to sign up for free trail).

Paramount acceptance is the real key. I'll be honest their business practices used to be pretty horrible. When they were new and taking over Gold's gyms ECT it wasn't a great place because of year long lock ins. I dealt with Anna with customer support with a billing issue
The ENVIRONMENT here is superior to all other gyms. I don't care what anyone things. People are driven excited energetic and passionate about life that come to Vasa. Paramount trains and mostly hires really kind professional patient customer service reps. It is all digital probably so they don't get yelled at but Vasa in general 10/10. Paramount 9/10. They have improved so so much and helped me waive a fee honestly I didn't deserve to have waived. For all you get $30 a month is worth it.
