Lots of hidden fees make it miserable to pause for summer or cancel to move. Often super crowded so expect to wait for any machines

I would give it 5 stars because it’s cheap, has what I need, isn’t too too crowded (I mean all gyms are somewhat) and the app is easy to use. However, I gave it 4 because there used to be employees that would always say hi and bye and ask about our workouts (just being really nice and helpful) but they’re gone and those at the reception desk only welcome me in half the time and then turn around and look at their phones. I also noticed the wipes are always empty now which I wonder is part of the same negligence. I don’t mind too much because I’m just there to workout but it doesn’t hurt to be a little nicer and cleaner.
Also why are the fans always off? I get so hot when I do cardio.

I usually don't leave many written reviews, but one thing I've noticed in the last few months is the level of customer service at the physical site I go to.
Let me first start off by saying I don't go to the gym for the pleasantries but for the machines and the workout. The complaint is with the staff who man the front desk. Very cold people, standoffish and focused almost exclusively on their phones more than anything. I'll say hi and not get a welcome or even a nod sometimes.
When I leave many of the employees stare blankly at their screens, not even a goodbye or wave. It's an odd experience when, just a few months ago, with others like Collette or Malachi who made you feel welcome and invited into this workout space.
Again, I go for the workout mainly but I'm starting to feel like I'm no welcome in a place I've felt welcome before. Just odd that you hire a bunch of employees more interested in their phones than in the customers.
I still struggle with no one saying, goodbye, hello, eye contact. Its almost like they don't want you there.

I'm leaving this review because people deserve to know the kind of person Isabel Little is. She holds a position of power at this facility but uses it to belittle, target, and discriminate against people instead of helping them. Her attitude is cold, condescending, and flat-out toxic. Her behavior is not only unprofessional -- it's harmful. This kind of person has no business working in this field. Period.

their customer support is HORRIBLE! my husband and I cancelled through the app five months ago, but they kept on billing us. I had to reach out six different time (email, call, text) and it took me days to even get in contact with anyone for them to just say they won’t give me a refund. literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

This place is a scam. I did my research and knew there was a cancellation fee. I also knew I was only going to be in town for 3 months, so I specifically asked about it. Someone at the front desk told me I could call and get it waived. So before even activating my account, I called VASA and asked directly if the cancellation fee could be waived, and they told me yes. Based on that confirmation, I signed up.
Now, after 3 months, I’m trying to cancel—and suddenly I’m being told there’s no note on my account and they can’t waive the fee. What happened to the call recordings? Do they not keep records? Either someone lied or they just don’t care. Completely dishonest.
Update: after this review they reached out to me to cancel the cancellation fee.

Saw the negative reviews about scammy fees and went ahead with a membership anyway. Should have listened to them. Their contract is outrageous. Make sure you read all the fine print, and don’t believe a word of their promos, only the stuff you physically signed. Otherwise you will get slammed with fines that are borderline criminal.
Also, this location was not the greatest. Super tiny for how many college kids go here.

I came in on a trial membership while I was traveling. I was really happy to work out in this large well-equipped gym. It's spacious, clean and the temperature much more to my liking when coming in from the hot summer temperature. If I lived there I would join.

It’s a decent gym, but compare it to any other VASA location and this one falls so short. It’s fine that it’s smaller and in an old grocery store, lots of them are like this. But this place isn’t clean, it feels musty.
Me main critics are the tanning beds are disgusting and outdated, the dumbbells have absolutely zero organization and completely out of order. This second point isn’t that important I know, but it makes the entire gym seem unorganized and sloppy. Wrong vibe

Vasa fitness cancellation process is a scam. If you want to actually delete your account. They don’t make it easy. They have an easy “freeze” option on their app that makes it look like you never have to worry about it again. Turns out it just goes right back to charging you regularly after 90 days, probably when you’ve forgotten all about it. Vasa fitness is a scam.

Fee upon fee upon fee. I had a fee for registering, double charged for daycare, charged for downgrading because the double charge for daycare wasn’t fixed, charged for cancelling because I was sick of all the extra costs, and then continued to be charged for my regular monthly fee because the cancellation didn’t go through

Not a great gym. And yeah, they charged me around $70 to cancel, not $25. I had surgery recently, and they made no exception to waive the fees. I was thrown in with the group who joins and cancels at the beginning of the year. Not my situation at all, but they don't care. Also, the $50 cancelation fee is not after 60 days. It was close to a month after I signed up. Again, the $25 fee I understood. Not giving me any exception with my health condition, I don't understand. They need to be more clear. I want nothing more than to just go to the gym, but when crap happens, Vasa doesn't have your back. Would not recommend. Terrible customer service.

This gym is pretty good. It has mostly everything that you need to get your workout in, and the staff are nice and happy to help. Callout to Ashley for the help. Unfortunately, cancellation is a bit of a different story. Had to get the app to cancel, and then it claimed that it couldn't process the information, though I checked that it was all correct. Had to email support, and they said that I would have to pay the next month's fee as well because of the 30 days cancellation notice. Like the gym, not the cancellation. Ended up paying something like $90 for the cancellation.

More fees than they know what to do with. Also, their employees, at least at this location, lied to my face about different fees. The cancellation fee is not 25$, depending on what membership you have it seems, my cancelation fee comes up to 75$ after two months of membership they charge a 50$ equipment maintenance fee, what are they doing with your regular payment? And the cancelation fee is not 0$ after three months but six months, which their own employee at this location told me upon sign up that it was three. Will not be recommending any vasa or going back ever again.

I knew that I could only attend for 2 1/2 weeks, so I told the attendant that and she set me up on a plan where I could have the first month free with a sale that they were doing, and TOLD ME that when I went to cancel I would only get a 25$ fee. Apparently they have a policy where I also have to pay any payments set to draft in the next 30 days when I cancel. THAT MEANS THEY STEAL AN EXTRA MONTH OUT OF EVERYONE THAT THE PERSON CANT ACTUALLY USE EVEN THOUGH THOSE PAYMENTS HAVENT EVEN BEEN PUT THROUGH YET. This is an act of deceitful pricing as I explicitly wanted the cheapest option and she said that what I did was it. The info about the next months charge can only be found as you go to cancel the account and the employees apparently avoid telling customers. Scamming college students, and lying to customers. Highly recommend another gym with less obscured conditions and fees.

This is my first public gym membership, and I wasn’t aware that public gyms are kinda a scam, thanks for helping me figure that out vasa. I heard it was 10$ a month for a membership, and signed up just to find out that they occasionally charge you 50$ for no reason, and that in order to cancel you have to pay more than it would cost to pay for your subscription for like 7-8 months. Gym was always super crowded and I could never get to the machines I wanted to use, but I’ve had to pay for a membership for 6 additional months regardless, because the cancellation fees were so ridiculous.
Edit:
I am trying to cancel my plan now that the 6-month cancellation-fee period is over, and it is a joke. They ask you for membership numbers that can only be found elsewhere in the app, and in order to go look at them you have to close and lose your progress on the cancellation application. Feels like an intentional and greedy way to prevent members from cancelling. I ended up having to take screenshots of these numbers (because they also made it so that you can’t just select and copy the number) and then flip back and forth between the cancellation form and the screenshot as it asked for membership numbers and information.
Also, in order to cancel you have to pay next month’s subscription fee! That makes no sense, because cancelling a membership literally requires no effort on their end, but they still charge you for an entire month in which you cannot use the gym!
To top it all off, I spent a solid 30 minutes getting all the information together and filling out the cancellation form, just to find out that they “had trouble finding my membership” and the cancellation had failed. If you call in or go in person and try to cancel (I tried both) they turn you away and say you have to cancel on the app, and the only other method they give you to get help is their support email.
Vasa is a greedy company that scams its members and tries to keep them in the contract after they are done using the gym.
Awful experience.

This vasa location is worse than a hotel gym, if that’s possible. I would rather get on a plane to the middle of nowhere, pick the worst motel, and work out there. Lumps in the floor that have been covered with gym flooring, uneven floors, free weights that are out of order, stacked on top of eachother, and left in random places. Staff seen walking around, but not picking up things. Save your time and book a flight to the middle of Ohio and work out at a Motel 6.

To speak on the gym; it is terrible. The facility is small and dank. No matter where you are in the facility, you'll have to listen to insufferable grunting from the squat racks. Nothing is sanitized. It is overcrowded- waits of 30+ minutes for benches/racks. The employees just stand behind the counter talking and drinking energy drinks.
Even worse than that (I know, it's hard to imagine), is trying to cancel your membership. You can't cancel on the app, but all the required info is on the app. I tried canceling multiple times on the website, but the link to cancel doesn't work. I tried calling multiple times and had to listen to automated messages that weren't helpful and my call was dropped before I could get through. Now that I have finally gotten it to work on the website, I am being required to pay the $49.99 rate guarantee fee and the membership fee for next month, which all isn't due for over two more weeks. Canceling requires a 30 day notice, which also means that you have to pay everything that you would've been charged for the next 30 days, even if that means a guaranteed rate fee that won't even be applicable. I wouldn't be so mad about the policy if I could've originally canceled my membership when I tried to at the beginning of last month. Enforcing harsh punishments for canceling within 30 days of these fees then making it incredibly difficult to cancel is cruel, and might even be a violation of consumer protection laws.

Just got my pass for this location and went to go tanning, but was disappointed in the cleanliness. The trash out front was overflowing all over the sidewalk, and the tanning area smelled like urine. The floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and the actual tanning bed was super old and really dirty as well. You'd think that Vasa would care more about their gym! Yuck.
I'll probably cancel and go with Planet Fitness. It was always clean when I used to go tanning there...

I use gyms for weights, so this review is from that perspective. It's lovely that they have three squat racks with deadlift pads, and one fixed rack, but it would be better to have more. The weights situation feels like lifters are second-class citizens. I'm assuming most patrons are not there to squat and deadlift and such, so that's appropriate. It's a small gym, and there's only so much room for stuff. I'd just like to be able to get a rack with minimal wait time. Also, the plates looked like they came from the same Goodwill store as the ones at the AF gym, chunks of rubber missing and such. Weight is weight, and maybe I'm being a bit sensitive about such things, but weightlifters have feelings too, you know.
I get that the margins on a gym are probably pretty slim after operating expenses and payroll and whatnot. And if they had unlimited resources, they could deliver the gym of my dreams. Hey, it's cheaper than buying your own equipment, and it gets you out of the house!

This review is for the Saratoga Springs gym. I went at 6am. Really nice gym and great staff. Was greeted in a friendly way upon arrival and departure. The reason for the two stars is purely based on the fact that every treadmill was occupied. Nearly every weight machine was being used, so had to make do with whatever was open so forget targeting legs or chest, etc unless you want to wait who knows how long between sets. Went to try free weights and much the situation there. Dumbells are in heavy use so couldn’t find a pair in the weights I needed. Finally found a squat rack so got some work in. Bottom line, they’ve sold too many memberships and don’t have enough equipment for the morning rush. I’ve heard from the others it’s the same in the evening but haven’t tried that personally. Fortunately I’ve the option to use other gyms so I won’t try Saratoga again, hoping the others are better. If not, I’ll cancel membership and go elsewhere.

The people are super deceptive. And only care about money. My wife signed up for a 3 month training session and asked them to make sure it was only 3 months cause we were moving. The worker told us that after the 3 months payments would stop and there would be no actions on our side. After 3 months we were charged again AND told we needed to pay $140 cancelation fee after our contract was over.
Do NOT go to the gym. They are deceptive and only care about sales and not their clients.

The monthly fees are such that there is no excuse not to keep the gym open on Sundays for those who wish to attend. My last complaint is their cancellation fee. I was expected/forced to pay $92 to cancel my membership, and I had the basic membership. Wild.

Nice staff, very sub par compared to the other vasas unfortunately. Lots of broken and really old equipment but then again I think it’s their first location. The GM is super sweet :).

Great atmosphere and staff. Always super nice. The only thing is that a lot of the dumbbells are old. Wish they would get new ones

Had a membership and primarily used this location for about two years. Always dirty and bathrooms were disgusting! Finally had enough and decided to switch to a better gym. Also, like other reviews say, be aware of the fees. You're going to end up paying a bit more that what you think you're signing up for.

Jed is the man. Recently moved back and was checking out this location and he was super helpful! Great customer service. Y’all are still crazy with your fees tho… cost me an arm and a leg to keep them rates… sheesh…

It’s not as nice as I thought it would be. The bathrooms are ugly and low quality. But the cíñala cardio room is great.

It seems to have only the hand me down equipment from other gyms. Never enough mats, often waiting for machines and stretching in random spots because no room on turf. Would love to see an update in equipment and get rid of the cardio cinema and and more machines.

It’s a pretty oof place. Lots of hidden fees to only pay “$10” a month, including a $50 yearly “low rate locked fee”. So you’re more like paying $20 - $30 a month if that’s how you’re looking at it. Gym is decent and that but nothing fancy. And cancellation fees are racked. They have to squeeze as much as they can out of it.

Location is convenient; quality is terrible. Most equipment here is old and damaged. What equipment they have there isn't enough of, so you'll frequently find yourself waiting on someone else. Glass walls have huge cracks running through them, which seems like a safety hazard. Something is always out of order in the bathroom. TVs and the channels on them look like they're out of the 2000s. Honestly looks like all of their renovation money went to the exterior. I'd easily spend the extra 20min round trip to get to the Spanish Fork location. It's a night and day difference

There is no value in a vasa membership. No matter what time I show up, every spot in the gym is occupied. You are at capacity and need to either expand or stop offering memberships. I'm going to have to cancel now and find somewhere else to go. The bathrooms at all of your locations and I've been to most of them are always in dire need of a deep cleaning.

Let’s talk about hidden fees: VASA is KING. There are heavy activation fees and if you cancel, you have to give a one months notice. So basically they charge you an extra month just because. Then if it’s within 6 months, you have to pay a $25 cancellation fee. It is SUCH A SCAM. As long as these unnecessary fees exist, I will never step foot in a VASA again.

Price is what you pay for. Beyond lazy staff who just sits there and acts like it’s the biggest drag in the world if you ask a simple question, average equipment, gross locker rooms, broken equipment, and in the winter don’t even try to walk or drive in the lot because it’s never shoveled or iced and the least they could do is get their employees who sit around to at least ice it lol. Also read ur contact through because they hide stuff in there and it’s sketchy haha

This place is a scam. The gym is fine. The contract is the sketchiest thing. I have had the membership for a few months and am about to move to a place where there is no vasa. Went to cancel and I have to pay $150 to cancel no exceptions because it is in the contract. That is so ridiculous. They were also extremely rude on the phone when I was trying to get help cancelling. So be careful before you sign anything here. Also just know if there is a rate of $10 a month it’s actually a lot higher because you have to pay a 60 dollar yearly fee.

Decent gym. Nothing else to add to the conversation besides what has been said.
Not enough power/squat racks, all the weights are always out of place/ don't have a clearly marked place. Many of the weights are broken/mismatched. The bars are old and have lost their grip. Some machines sit broken for weeks.
Some staff members are friendly and greet/say goodbye, but most of the time they all stand around talking to one another. Not sure why the gym needs 6 staff members at a time...
On the bright side, normally less busy than the Orem location. That's about the only bright side

It's really not a great gym. It can get very crowded and the equipment is in pretty bad shape. They only have a few racks for squats/deadlifts and one of the platforms has been broken for at least a year. The redeeming quality is that it is cheap and the only gym in the area. However, be aware that the $10/mo membership is more like $15 when you include the ~$55 rate guarantee fee they charge you each year.

Great place. Just wish they warned you the tanning beds are powered by nuclear energy. I've never peeled like this. Seriously don't compare to the average tanning salon. Guess I should have asked why the Mr had to sign a waiver for 8 mins. If you have any skin untouched by the sun start low!!!!
Edit I visited a different vasa and their tanning booths are normal. Provo is seriously broken down.
