Way too many hidden fees. I froze my membership and they continued to charge me for months without me noticing. I get they’re trying to make more money but they’d honestly make more money by not being so greedy. I’d have continued my membership if there wasn’t hundreds of dollars of fees randomly billed to my bank account.

Jamie did incredible, first time and she helped me get set up and feel comfortable. She explained everything beautifully. By the end of class I felt confident and strong. I highly recommend this class and will be attending more!

This is an Excellent location and facility, with me only having one mention-worthy critique of it. The [women’s] showers take a Very long time to get warm. And then, once warm, they remain warm for a fairly brief period of time before returning to the water temperature being cold/cool yet again, smh. But, other than that, this is a 5-star facility from my personal experience ;)

This gym is highly overpriced, way too crowded, and very rarely had spots open at the kid care.So because of these reasons my wife and I cancelled and were charged $260 to cancel our memberships. Absolutely insane. Never returning to a vasa ever again.

I have been a member for over 20 yrs. It’s very disheartening to see management go so downhill. My review is regarding that, not the gym itself. Especially the manager over Kid Care-Kate. When a concern is brought to her attention, she doesn’t listen, rants about her own narrative, interrupted me when I was having the discussion w/someone else, did not take accountability for her staff saying different things to me & became aggressive and defensive. She should not be in customer service with such immature communication skills and inability to hear out someone’s concerns. She continued to even follow me out of the kid care and aggressively approach me after I had removed myself from the conversation and as I was beginning to file my complaint.
I filed a complaint with James the manager. He reminding me of contracts for some odd reason. I reminded him again that this was not about a contract, & that it was about me mentioning their staff has told me different things & is not all on the same page & that Kate’s aggressiveness was not ok. He invalidated my experience in many ways. He said he was going to look into it and file a report. I said I’d like to see the report and he said he would not show me.
These managers, mostly Kate, really need some better training. They do not know how to handle customers. Kate especially should not be in a managerial position and I would be embarrassed to have her representing my company. Beware, if you have a concern it will not be listened to or validated, and you will be met with dismissiveness, aggression, and defensiveness if it’s Kate. Her lack of immaturity is scary to have in that role. Even as she stood there and interrupted me and another girl, kids were screaming, fighting, and neglected. She’s a terrible manager & I'm grateful I didn’t end up leaving a child there.
So sad it’s gone so downhill. It use to be better!

Very bad gym, the bathrooms smell bad, there are broken machines, you go to the main table, there is never anyone to help you, you receive charges and they don't tell you why they charged me $120 when I just started paying my membership, always on time, I receive charges of $80 dollars and no one tells me what it is for, I want to cancel my membership and they charge me another $25 dollars, very bad

VASA in Spanish Fork — what can I say? It’s a typical big-name gym, but it’s always crowded. I usually end up waiting for weight machines, and sometimes even all the treadmills and cardio equipment are taken. It’s a decent gym if you can catch it during off-hours, but it gets packed fast.

The facility itself is great – lots of equipment, clean, and well set up. The biggest issue is canceling a membership. I tried canceling through the app and it showed as canceled, but I kept getting charged. Calling in to cancel has been the biggest headache and way more complicated than it should be. Love the gym, but the cancellation process needs serious improvement.

I don't know how anyone can comfortably recommend a gym with the absolute level of garbage hidden fees and ridiculous restrictions as Vasa has. Every year another thing gets locked down behind a massive paywall and if you ever decide to cancel, you're going to be completely broke for the foreseeable future. Not to mention the hidden "rate guarantee fee" that makes your second or third payment 4x the normal price. Things like this are why people are always broke these days because of dishonest management who wants to squeeze as much blood from the hard working American people as they can for their own personal benefits. I will never consider working out at Vasa and actively recommend literally any other gym in the vicinity.
Edit: A specific example of Vasa being terrible - my wife used to enjoy going to the yoga classes which, as regular classes, were just included with the main membership. Of course, the greedy corporate overlords can't have anyone having fun without paying out the wazoo for it, so they took the yoga away and made you pay a ton of extra money for it. Who knows what the next thing they'll take away will be, so you'd better get in the things you enjoy while you still can if you are a member here

The gym itself was good. However after canceling my membership in may they are still charging me 70 dollars every month. The membership I had was only 40 dollars a month. When I called in I was told that they would place a hold on charging me but I still needed to pay what they had charged me after I had canceled my membership. That was a lie they added 70 more dollars to the bill three days after I called. Don’t get a membership with vasa fitness!!!

The gym itself was great. It’s a great environment, but can get busy at times. I took away stars because of my cancellation experience. I went to cancel to save some money and was hit with a $96 cancellation. $16 to pay for the next month, $25 cancellation fee, and about $55 price guarantee fee. It is frustrating to be hit with a price guarantee fee when you won’t be paying for something anymore. Felt like there were some hidden fees during my experience. I did call the help line and had the $25 cancellation fee waived, but it still sucks to pay $55 for something I’m not using.

Worst gym ever, don't join unless you want to be riddled with headaches and runaround if, and when, you decide to cancel. My husband joined in the spring of 2025 but then we moved into an apartment with a free fitness center so he cancelled his membership in May. It is now July and we are still being charged monthly. Oh, and in April, I believe, we were charged over $84 for this membership that is roughly $26 per month. Regardless, 2 full months later and we are still being charged and can't cancel again without paying the charge for July. They are scheisters. Please join any other gym, even if it's the local jungle gym. You will regret joining Vasa, unless you intend to be a lifetime member.

I started working with Vasa over 6 months ago. Due to medical issues I could no longer go to the gym. I called and told them my issues and that I needed to cancel until I was oked by my doctor to return. Due my to my medical problems this was going to take over a year of healing. Over this six month period I was told in order to cancel I needed a doctor released. Which I provided them. Before I had surgery. They still never canceled my account only to have them drain my account and take my last money I have in my account. They also renewed my membership and took that money out of my account even though they should have seen that I had been working on canceling this membership for the last six months. If this is the way your going to treat your customers our seniors shouldn't come to your gym if they have medical issues, because your going to charge even though they cant come to the gym anymore. Thinking it was a month to month membership. I received consent harassment from Vasa. I was in contact with them all the time, only to be treated badly. I was told a different story by each person i talked too. They did credit back a small amount but like I said this has been going on for six months with no one taking care of this issue.

Has been such a wonderful gym (Spanish Fork gym) for my wife and I. Friendly and respectful staff. Other customers are great with cleaning and equipment usage etiquette. A place where you can get happy and healthy. Much more mat space and available equipment than other facilities. Great sauna and mesage chair. Locker rooms could use highly frequent cleaning, but still better than other places with the amount of traffic going through.
The only thing is the extra hidden fees on signups and anniversary, but I say you get your money worth. If vasa were to be more transparent and get a better collection program then they'd probably do much better (and they are already doing great facility and internal employees wise)

I've taken my kids to kidcare here on and off for 3 years and have loved the care Kaitlin has in the mornings. My oldest used to look forward to going to kidcare because they took them to the basketball court and did activities on kid fit hour, now none of my boys like going because it's just crowded and don't get to play with anything. My wife has been with VASA since it was gold's gym in the old location and she's heartbroken our kids are not having the best experience as they were a few years ago.

I love love love the childcare team here. 5 stars!
That being said: The location is a little busy, but there’s a ton of equipment so I feel like there’s always something I can do.
My main issue with this gym is that the doors on the showers have a foot-high gap and no way to secure them closed. I don’t feel like I can shower after working out because the doors are like half-see-through glass with giant gaps and no locks. Plus the water leeks out of the actual shower space to a secondary drain? Terrible design, genuinely awful. Getting new doors or even just a basic curtain would make a huge improvement!

Do you actually care how your employees speak to patrons?
I’ve been a member since I signed up for Gold’s back in 2006. Nearly 20 years of giving you my monthly payment and twice a year ‘rate guarantee fee’.
Personally I wouldn’t mind paying more if it meant: better happier employees, cleaner fresher smelling bathrooms, and 100% of all equipment working. Seriously I think many of us would.
But here is my complaint. The TVs by the treadmills and bikes in the Spanish Fork location. Someone KEEPS changing the channels.
Fox News has always been on at least one TV in the front row. But someone keeps changing it off lately. Today I asked one of your ‘not so smiley’ employees at the front to change at least one of the TVs to Fox News. That it’s always been there but someone keeps turning it off or changing it.
‘I have to ask my manager’ was the only thing he said. Twice actually.
Are you serious??? I’ve seen so many people from the front coming to change the channels over the years (because I am not the only person that asks this). But this kid with a stern look only said “I have to ask my manager”.
That was 30 minutes ago. Nothing.
Vasa, this is the textbook definition of garbage service.

This Vasa location has gone nothing but downhill ever since it opened. The equipment is constantly broken or does not work properly. I pay a premium but I'm never able to use the massage beds or tanning beds because they are always broken or there is a half hour to an hour wait for them. The gym is overly packed and you can't get a decent workout in anymore because everybody's waiting for equipment. unfortunately this is really the only gym in this area.

I had a terrible experience recently that made me feel so unseen. I was trying to enter into the sauna but couldn’t because the scanner wasn’t working.
I was standing with a few other women sort of waiting for someone to come out so we could enter I got the swimming pool area.
I felt like I didn’t want to waste time so I decided to go find an employee.
When I did I got the attention of some guy who listened to my story about how the scanner wasn’t working. And that I knew it wasn’t a a card or membership problem. It was the scanner, I watched other girls try to get in as well. No one could.
This guy made me scan my membership so he could check that I pay for this.
It worked and then asked what the problem is and I explained the entire situation and then he said oh that sounds like a problem you need help and you can go ask that girl to help you.
I was shocked and a little mad. He took no responsibility to help me or even explain to the next employee what needed to happen.
I got the female employee to help me but I was so mad with this the male. It was not good. He wasted like 15 mins of my time.
In total of explaining and waiting for the door to be open I think it wasted 25 mins of my night. I was not okay with this.

As a person who manages a business and knows how hard it is to retain exceptional employees ,so today I just had to say how wonderful my experience is at Vasa SF. I have been a member since back when It opened as Golds and I even Worked there as a personal trainer ! Back when everyone knew you and called you by name. Those days were mostly long gone but this past couple of years at Vasa In Spanish Fork ,Tori Edward’s day in and day out every time I walk in greets me with hey Scott! I know it sounds funny but to a daily customer it means a lot when someone cares enough to learn your name and make sure to say hello! Since covid every business has lost that personal touch of exceeding expectations and true customer service. So I wanted to say thank you for being a bright spot for Vasa Spanish Fork Tori! I know a lot of the other members share my thoughts as well because I have mentioned in talks with many of them. But today I had to make sure and express my thoughts.

Worst billing service ever. They charge for everything and also huge amounts. If you leave, they charge you. If you come back, they charge you. And if they make a mistake, it'll go against you. For example, they did something wrong, and the payment didn't go through my bank account (even when I had enough funds). So... They decided to charge me $25 because it didn't go through. They closed the classroom, and no one can use it! There's only one abductor machine and almost ever works.

Love the gym, the new facility, the amenities, esp the sauna, steam room, hot tub, massage chairs, tanning, infrared yoga room. It’s also a cleaner facility than any other VASA I’ve been to in Utah. The childcare staff is phenomenal, tho I wish there were more activities for the kids instead of the tv playing all the time.
I’d give this gym five stars except for the company policy that requires parents (mostly mothers) to enter one at a time for drop off. It’s infantilizing to parents and a joke in terms of efficiency (no fault of the staff). It can take up to ten minutes to drop off your kid AND again to pick them up resulting in twenty minutes less workout time. (Max care is 90 min). Childcare hours are also limited. It is closed noon till 4 so mothers or working parents can’t work out midday or esp during lunch. I’ve even emailed customer service about their accessibility for caregivers and single parents but got no response twice.

I have been trying with 7 requests for support tickets over 2 years to get them to fix their dry sauna and steam room. The dry sauna is OK, but it is set a little too hot and needs to cycle down more often. The steam room is constantly extremely hot. The maintenance guy admitted that even though it's set at 115 degrees by the time the steam reaches the sensor, it's around 130 to 140 degrees. Almost will burn skin it's that hot, which explains why the tiles go bad more often. People will spray the sensor with water sometimes, making it even hotter. They should set it at 100 degrees max. You don't need steam from a volcano to comfortably sweat. You just need constant steam 90 to 100 degrees. I will edit this review or post another if they "finally" fix this. Also, they need a couple of pedal stair steppers.

Absolutely love everything about this gym. I workout and lift but also love yoga and classes so I love having both available. My only thing I wish was different was the music choice during yoga classes. Some of the teachers play like regular hip hop kind of music and it honestly kills the vibe of what yoga means to me which is a place to zen out and find peace in the now. The music can kinda disturb the flow. Wish they would play music meant for yoga

This is my favorite gym I have been to ever so far. They have hot yoga, an assortment of classes, massage chairs, a pool and so much more. The price point is fair. Studio Red is a fun and challenging fitness class. They have a few levels depending on which membership you want. The staff is nice and kid care is awesome so good with kids but you do have to book in advance which is a little hard sometimes if you can’t anticipate being sick so I wouldn’t schedule to far in advance the plus side is it keeps you coming even if you don’t want to because kid care is already booked! They don’t have kid care on Friday evenings, Saturday or Sunday evenings which is a huge bummer. The gym is fairly busy they might need more locations! It is very clean the pool and sauna are awesome too and clean. Def an awesome gym to go to highly recommend.

What's up with all the fees Vasa!? I looked on their website and see nothing about a 100$ "enrollment fee" for their basic 10$ a month plan. But in person the lady starts listing off all these included fees. They shouldn't even claim it's 10$ because it's more like 15$ a month with the fee included. Not only that but they are increasing their prices soon! I can understand a 20$ enrollment fee but 100$!? Come on guys...
Also, what's up with your guy's contracts!? Don't you understand that people wanna try a place out before they sign a year long contract. Most other gyms I've seen have a 3,6 and a 12 month membership. Which makes perfect sense. I don't know what's going on, maybe Vasa is struggling and about to go bankrupt.
Eithet way, 25$ to 40$ a month for a gym membership with hidden fees seems excessive. NO THANKS 👎

Jaime teaches yoga Monday and Wednesday. Her classes are the best I have ever been to in all my years of doing yoga. She is the reason I pay for Vasa. Lots of fitness class variety, lots of weight lifting options. Biggest drawback is the gym gets very busy early in the morning and after 3 pm and it’s hard to get the weights you want.

I've really enjoyed working out at the Spanish Fork Vasa gym! The fitness classes are fantastic and always keep me motivated. The facility is consistently clean, and I appreciate the variety of amenities available, including the massage chairs, sauna, steam room, and hot tub.
My only suggestion is that it would be great to have the kickboxing class offered in the evenings, as I work full time and usually come to the gym in the middle of the day. Additionally, more fitness classes on the weekends would be a wonderful addition for those of us who are busy during the week.
Overall, Vasa - Spanish Fork is a fun place to work out and feel healthy!

It’s a good gym with lots of options to work out, but it’s always completely packed and difficult to use the equipment you want. My wife ended up canceling her membership because it’s always too busy.
It would be really great if VASA could open another Spanish Fork or Springville location .

Been going to this gym for 2-3 years now, always something broken or not cleaned up. Be careful with all the extra fees and charges, always busy and full of undertrained and poor services. If it’s the only gym near you, give it a shot. There’s better options out there for sure.

Terrible gym, even worse customer service, and to top it off predatory billing practices. They appear to be just fine with grown men using the sauna in their skin tight underwear with young girls, making the girls so uncomfortable that they have to leave. Tried calling to address it, but they said that they wouldn't address it unless you are there in person. Bathrooms smell strongly of cat urine, always way too busy, machines are constantly broken, their billing agency will charge you extra fees, even when the problem is on their end, customer service has a combined brain cell count of 12. I'd stay away from not only this gym, but the whole chain.

Not amazing, but good enough for some lifting. Lots of hidden fees. Even though it says 9.99 a month, after their yearly fees and "price guarantee"(which goes up every year so they still charge you more) it comes out to about 20$ a month. So don't be fooled. The hidden fees DOUBLE the price. I understand this and am fine with paying 20$ a month. They lack most of the amenities other Vasa Gyms have, but they get away with it because it is in a good location for so many. Just with they had a Steam Room.

5 star gym & staff. A lot of nice equipment variety and well thought out placement.
Now the missing one star…
1. I wish this was a 24 hour location or at least kept the 4am-12am schedule on Saturday & Sunday as well.
2. Need more squat racks. I typically go to the gym at 4am, between 10am-1pm, and after 7pm. These are the “less busy” hours, but every leg day I find myself standing by a pole for 10-20 minutes waiting for a rack to open up and a line behind me. Ditch the platforms in the back and just make them squat racks (with platforms). I see more people using the squat rack platforms for deadlifts than the standalone platforms anyway.
3. Can we please talk to corporate about building another gym? This gym is always packed even during the “less busy” hours. You have people from Payson, Salem, Spanish Fork, Mapleton, Springville, & Elk Ridge, all coming to this one place. Mapleton’s population alone has grown almost 30% since 2020. Please please please forward this?? Thank you for reading.

This location was WAY too busy. As far as cleanliness goes, this is a good gym with many options for a good workout. I would even give this 5 stars but the problem is that no matter when you go visit, you literally cannot find an adjustable bench to do a chest workout and everywhere is packed. Other gyms are busy as well but here, I’ve wandered many times trying to find anything to get in a chest workout and nothing is available. They need less non-adjustable benches and more adjustable. This location services way too many cities/high schools/sports teams etc. There needs to be another location in a nearby city to accommodate everyone south of Provo that wants to workout. This gym is so busy, I actually went to cancel and was notified I would need to pay a fee of $25 for canceling in the first 6 months. I actually don’t mind large crowds but this one is so excessive that the thought of trying to come and find a place to workout is not motivating. If they can fix the overcrowding I would definitely give a better review and be more motivated to continue going.

We were warned prior but it was a great deal to sign our son up for their great rate.. fast forward, canceled due to his team practicing somewhere else - agreed to the $25 each cancelation fee but telling me from 26/mthly to 67/mthly EASH ACCT on top of the cancelation fee than to argue that I canceled via app when I DID IT IN PERSON at SF (they do not have the authorization to do that & I'm not going to argue w you says Laura)

Nice facility and nice equipment. There are a lot of machines which is nice because it’s packed there. There’s no walkway so your dodging people to get through. No racquetball, even though it’s on the building. Staff are nice, could be a bit more welcoming. The classes have their own set ups. It would be nice if that was explained better on the apps. One said bring your own mat but they have them there. I didn’t know if I would need weights or not or what they were used for, so I didn’t know what size to pick. It’s just a weird set up that’s a bit annoying and not intuitive. Free weights in strange places and I have no idea where the cinema room or massage area is, if they have one, but I didn’t ask for a tour so that’s my fault.

I’ve been going here for years and went to the fitness cinema pretty much every day. Very sad to see they have decided to remove it for a yoga studio. May start to consider another gym as this was my motivation and to avoid the feeling of overcrowding.

I have been going to this gym now for a year. I never really liked the idea of a gym membership as I am more of an outside fellow (riding mountain and road bikes, hiking, rock climbing, etc.) That would usually mean I was a lazy arse during the winter, though. Last year, my 13 year old started riding for the Nebo Goats mountain biking team and my wife and I signed up to be low level coaches. That meant I had to be actually be in some reasonable shape before the summer! The first team ride is a 4 hour session at Forebay (super amazing and fun, by the way) and I needed more than a few rides in my rear before this. So last January, I signed up and started joining my wife for workouts. Mainly it has been the bikes in the spin room and some weights. The massage tables are an amazing feature. I really like that they keep the spin room open outside of class times. Ogden doesn't and it's lame. The staff has always been helpful (they let me borrow a wrench once to adjust the saddle angle on a bike) and when we do the occasional spin class, the coaches are super enthused! The only drawback is that I can charge energy drinks to my monthly account fee and that doesn't get abused at all... I have only been to two other VASAs (Ogden and Orem) and this one seems to be the best. (Ogden is mildly janky and in need of some new gear; Orem just seems a bit too hardcore for my taste.)

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. We have gone to cancel my minor’s account a few times and have had NO SUCCESS. We call a corporate office, ZERO help. They basically exploit people and make it near impossible to cancel your membership. My daughter has gone on the app a few times and has never been able to cancel. They overcharged her over $100 one month and over $50 another.. for a 17 yr old. The only thing this place is good for, is to ruin your credit… I am appalled. Remember when they opened and it was “join for $10/month, no contract”? FALSE. Save yourself the fees. Buy your own gym equipment...
