Warm, grounded community that makes teaching here a joy. Students show up with dedication and kindness, creating a space that feels supportive and sacred. My fellow teachers bring deep understanding and a wide range of offerings. I feel safe, challenged, and supported practicing alongside them. I’m truly grateful to be part of such a special place!

Every time I take Jo's class I am fulfilled- physically and spiritually. Few instructors can guide a practice that is the perfect balance between effort and ease with a soothing voice that truly feeds the soul.

Heart of the Village is a very special studio. I have been going to classes there for almost three years and will continue to go well into the future. The classes are incredibly grounding and offer rigorous practice and slow flow. The teachers are second to none and deeply care about the practice and their students. I feel like I am home at the studio and as the name implies: it is truly the heart of our village. If you’re looking to get into a heartfelt and mindful practice this is the studio for you!

Heart of the Village is the real deal. Not just an excercise class, the studio is rooted in the eight limbs of yoga. Jo's classes are some of the best yoga classes I've ever taken. I am so grateful to be part of the Heart of the Village community and could not recommend them more.

I've been practicing yoga at Heart of the Village for years and every time I walk through their doors I experience a welcome shift of positive energy. The skillful teachings and warm, inviting venue make recommending them a simple choice, but I wanted to make a special reference to one of their New England weeklong workshops, the Ocean Goddess Retreat. Everything about this experience was easy. From the location, sumptuous meals, and engaging company, to the outstanding yoga instruction, meditation, and mindfulness practices. I left with a community of new friends; feeling grounded, empowered and at peace. Most importantly, I continue to integrate the experience and its teachings into my daily life. The experience surpassed my expectations at a time when I needed it most. So grateful for your warmth and leadership Jo! Thank you!

I can’t not say enough good things about the experience that was had with instructor Kait Zwagerman Tyler.
When searching for an instructor to lead a private class at my wife’s weekend away in Stratton, Kait was not only recommended, but reached out personally. She offered her experience and credentials, then her phone number to make contact should I still have a need.
She was very responsive and easy to discuss my goals with for the weekend. A great communicator, Kait made sure the class had their mats and let us know when she was leaving Manchester and headed for the hill, even on a difficult travel day, she made her way to Stratton.
The group raved about her playlist and how funny and engaging Kait was. They truly enjoyed the yoga session and will seek Kait out for the next girls weekend/solo yoga adventures.
Thanks again, Kait!

Somehow practicing yoga helps me to play better hockey. I trained hard for 1 week with stick and puck, but no yoga and played poorly. The next week I only practiced yoga, with no hockey training, and played great. What is going on? I thought yoga was only for women, but I was wrong. Alpha males can increase their hormone production with yoga too. Thank you Jo for your wonderful yoga studio.

This is a beautiful studio with a beautiful community. I only took 2 classes while I was visiting town. The instructors led empowering classes and even as a newcomer I was welcomed by both instructors and other yogis. I will definitely stop by next time I'm in the area!

This is such a special yoga studio! The first class I did with Jo was one of those I’ll never forget. She has a way of harmonizing breath, movement, and philosophy, creating a beautiful flow! The studio itself is gorgeous, and the range of classes means you’ll always have something new to experience. A truly wonderful studio!

I discovered Heart of The Village after years of being a runner. I had taken a few yoga classes prior to this, but it never really landed for me. That all changed as soon as I began practicing at HOTV. I find myself instantly relaxed when I walk through the doors of the HOTV studio. The atmosphere is incredibly calming. The teachers are kind, knowledgeable and facilitate classes that support the mind/ body connection. The variety of classes offered allow for all levels and abilities to find their sweet spot. There is nothing like attending an in person class, but as a working mom of the 3 kids, I am truly grateful for the online class option as well. It allows me the flexibility to keep up with my practice even when I can't get there in person. I am so, so grateful for this beautiful little studio in the village, for the energy the teachers bring and for helping me to discover my Love of yoga. I cannot recommend this studio enough!

I absolutely LOVE Heart of the Village Yoga!! I have been going to classes at HOTV in Manchester Village VT for at least 10+ years now - ever since they opened. I love all the instructors and the variety of classes offered. I take harder flow classes when my body is ready and slow flow when I need meditation, chakra openings and brain longevity! I love the online virtual classes too - I never feel disconnected!! I highly recommend HOTV Yoga in Manchester Village VT!!

I joined the studio last summer and have so enjoyed being part of the yoga community at Heart of the Village Yoga studio. The space is beautiful and I love the variety of classes offered. The teachers are very knowledgeable and there’s a class offered for everyone at every level. The space is warm and welcoming and the owners have done a wonderful job of making the studio a calming reprieve in an otherwise hectic world. I so enjoy my time there and always leave feeling 100% better than when I arrived.

I love Heart of the Village Yoga studio. Everyone at the studio is welcoming and inspiring. This sets an amazing energy for practice that I can't achieve on my own. Jo and all of the instructors have an individualistic approach to each class, but a format that is familiar to all of us. I enjoy yhe hands on guidance to get to the next level and to improve each pose. Although it's not the same, the virtual class is a great back up when I am unable to attend in person. Thank you Heart of the Village!

This is a beautiful studio in downtown Manchester. I went to a medium flow class and it was very busy. But the instructor did a great job helping to make sure everyone had space. The flow was excellent and I felt like it matched my past experiences. She did not demonstrate the poses, but if you are experienced that shouldn’t be a problem. I loved that they had a theme for the month and the community was very welcoming. I would recommend it highly and attend class again in the future!

Dropped by this beautiful studio in a quaint, quiet town. It was a holiday so maybe the instructor was filling in for the regular instructor. The class was advertised as a yin class but it was not yin yoga. The room was very chilly. The instructor did not incorporate props which is the basis of yin yoga. She started with a very aggressive twisting posture. Not safe in the cold with no props. She did not model poses, or assist students. She verbally cued 8 poses, each pose held for approximately 4 minutes on each side. She set a timer for each pose. At one point, the instructor was texting while we were holding a pose. When you go to a yoga class, you trust that the instructor is trained in the style advertised. Maybe this class should just be advertised as a stretching class. It's not yin yoga in fact it wasn't yoga. The studio was located across the street from my hotel. It was convenient but convenience was not worth the $20 drop in rate.
