I had the pleasure of speaking to a gentleman named Skyler who is very polite and efficient. This gentleman explained to me that he is the manager at this location. I commended this gentleman for a stellar internet service, a clean gym, and other amenities. I am a businessman who is involved in real estate investments, the stock market, and the pharmaceutical field. I would love to continue doing business in gorgeous Vermont as a client of Planet Fitness. I am very thankful for so many members of the staff at Planet Fitness at this location and others. Why are some of the machines down/broken for months at a time? When will you ever replace the pads on some of the machines? Some are in terrible condition. Men's locker room was dirty as hell. Clogged toilets, clumps of hair in the showers, someone left a used needle in the garbage just sitting on top, literal tracks of dirt on the locker room floor. Showers are tiny and have no shelves - remember to bring your own shower caddy. No changing room, tiny locker room with a crunchy floor.

NGL It was pretty disgusting in there today. Glad I only popped in for a shower. Don't know if it's always like this or what, but damn. I haven't seen a PF this bad in a while, since at least when I stopped in the N. Blackstone location out in Fresno.

Worst PF I've been to. Small 12 x 12 locker room. Put 6 guys in there and you are bumping butts trying to get changed. Shower water never got hot and there is no soap dispenser provided, no shelf for your soap and shampoo, no shower caddy hanging from the shower head...I put my soap and shampoo bottle on the floor in the shower...GROSS, but what could I do? Mentioned to a staff member about getting a shower caddy and he said it would be something that had to be taken up with the regional manager. I said the regional manager has to get involved to buy a $15 shower caddy???? Ridiculous.

I’m unbelievably frustrated by this gym. They charged our account twice after my fiancé called to cancel the membership. He didn’t like the atmosphere and wasn’t wanting to spend money on a place he wasn’t comfortable. They “manager JON (that’s how he spells it) said he wouldn’t refund us, they charged us over 50$ for an annual fee that wasn’t disclosed to us and we had no idea about. I told him we weren’t using the gym and he would not refund my card. He refused to. His example was once you buy a Netflix subscription it comes out weather you watch it or not. Well bud this ain’t Netflix. And you can cancel Netflix easy and I’m sure be refunded no issues. He kept saying “we did nothing wrong” like ya ya did bud you charged me a fee of a membership I’m never gonna use. I’m beyond upset and disappointed. Never will I ever talk good about This place again. I really hope the owner can make this right and refund us.

Was a member in another state. This location is smaller but it's a place to work out and gets some cardio. It's not a night club. It's not fancy and it's no frills but it's enough to do what you came for and leave. From my prior perspective it wasn't to crowded for the start of the year when everyone for a short time wants to lose weight. It gets better as the year goes! Open 24 hours except on holidays.

Been coming here for a week. No hot water. I worked out anyway and noticed that not all TVs were on every time I came here. All the Fox channels were on but CNN wasn't. I asked an employee who was reticent to answer but I cleaned that the owner doesn't agree with CNN so Fox News is front and center yet the employees aren't allowed to turn on CNN.

Terrible Planet Fitness. They have not had hot water going on three weeks now and this is the second time that it has happened in a matter of four months. Not a bad PF location, smaller so usually less busy than the next closest PF but it can get cramped if there are a lot of people. Generally pretty clean.

The biggest issue is that as of 10/7/24 there has been no hot water for about 2 weeks now, with promises that it will be fixed being pushed back further than further. I'm sure the issue is being dealt with as quickly as possible but it's also kind of unacceptable for it to be out for as long as it has. There are other businesses in the building who presumably have hot water.

This was probably one of the best Planet Fitness gyms i’ve ever been to traveling around the states for the hospitality, friendly people, clean gym, and professionalism. i liked how the crowd meter was accurate went i went in. If you’re looking for a more spacious gym it’s more humble I don’t imagine the need for it to be big since it’s not a big city but could be wrong i come a very population dense state and my gyms about the same size with a city amount of people. Im not sure if he was the manager but Curtis went above and beyond making it a great experience.

Because I travel a lot, I have gone to many PF facilities. This one is near the bottom of the list as far as meeting expectations. The men’s changing room is very small. When more than 4 people are changing, it gets very cramped. Not something that can be easily fixed. What can be fixed is the cleanliness of the facility. The treadmills all had remnants of sweat, on every piece of equipment. The men’s showers were completely dirty. One of the 2 urinals were out of order. No soap in any dispenser in the bathroom. Yet, there happened to be 4 employees behind the front counter. Also, the showers should have some sort of shelf, as I had to keep my showering items on the floor in the dirty shower. Overall, disappointed, and will find another PF when in the area.

I used this facility on 9/21/23. Traveling a lot I’ve become accustomed to planet fitness being a clien place I can work out and shower. I was beyond disappointed at how dirty this place is. The floors in the women’s locker room looked like they hadn’t been mopped in over a month with all the corners and edges full of grime. The shower curtain had mildew and mold all up and down the creases. Other locations have staff going around cleaning machines. This location had three guys hanging out at the desk chatting. The location has the potential to be a nice little gym, but unless they do some cleaning they’ll never get there.

One of the best gyms to get a membership with. They're cheaper than the local gyms and offer a lot of perks with it too. They have a lot of cardio equipment and machines to work on muscles on top of their selection of weights. It can get busy, but everyone including the guests are super friendly. My only downside is no Stair Master machine but it's a personal preference.

For the most part working out there was fine. Until one of their employees called me racial slurs and a female dog for assuming I was talking to my friend about him. That was very inappropriate, discriminating, and childish. We exchanged some words because of the racial slurs that was thrown at me. A friend of mine that also worked there later told me that that particular worker send his apologies regarding what happened so I did not think about reporting the issue. The very next morning I checked my email and it said that he had canceled my membership. At that moment I called PF and they told me to give a call to the Essex PF to talk to the manager. I explained everything to him and he said he would get back to me in a couple of days which never happened. So I am very disappointed this is happening in 2023 and that no one considered taking this issue serious.

1) Two new water fountains and a bottle filling station. For years, they only had one semi working water fountain.
2) All new weight training equipment as of Dec 2022.
3) Finally staffed well.

1. Turn up the music (you can hardly hear it). Unlike other PF locations where they have it bumping.
2. Get a stair stepper or two in this location. There is room.
3. STOP replying talk to the manager because obviously it isn’t working!
I will say , I’ve been to this location several times and they have slightly approved on their cleaning skills.

I had been searching EVERYWHERE for a GOOD place to tan in the Burlington area...the places were waaayyyyyy too expensive and the beds were not hot enough. I got the pf black membership because I wanted to use the massage chairs and red light therapy room. When I joined they told me that I had unlimited of this equipment. A month later I was told I could only use any of the machines for a total of two 10 minute sessions. Bait and switch. When the pandemic hit in 2020 I tried to cancel because I couldn't use the gym anymore. It was like pulling teeth. Horrible management.

I wish there was a 0 star option, because 1-star feels generous for my experience. I was a member for a period of time amidst the pandemic while there was mask mandate and distancing involved. They quickly dropped their masking and distancing precautions and it felt wildly unsafe to me (a healthcare provider) in an indoor, close environment. I wasn't impressed while I had membership. When I went to cancel (months ago now,) I was told I was all set, and was emailed my cancellation confirmation letter. Then within the week I was charged another monthly fee AS WELL AS the yearly fee. Upon speaking to another staff member, I was told I didn't have "proof" of the date I cancelled, though I showed the letter from the day I received it shortly after cancelling and was thus informed I had no option of a refund for those costs. I ensured at this point in time that my membership had in fact been cancelled. From this point I was charged for two additional months moving forward, and spoke to a new staff member both of these two times, both INSISTING they don't know why I'd be charged as my account said cancelled. They required me to send photos of the charges to my bank, assured I would be refunded and continued to state my account was canceled and they didn't know why i was charged -- completely disregarding the problem in itself. Today I went in again to ensure this fiasco was complete, and my account was truly cancelled, and I was informed I had three different accounts on file (though I am positive I only made one) and that while two were cancelled, one was still on file. I received yet ANOTHER cancellation document, and can only hope that I will no longer be billed. I was brushed off when inquiring about my > $60 refund for the fees billed beyond my initial cancellation, and told they'd get back to me. Considering the hell I went through to leave this gym, I have a feeling I won't be getting my stolen money back. **DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM, DON'T GIVE THEM BANKING INFORMATION, and if you do, god help you if you try to cancel. There are much easier and less time consuming ways to be scammed if that's your goal.

I have never been in a such awful environment, the staffs are very rude, unpolite and unprofessional.
They first opened three different accounts and when we asked to have it fixed they closed the one that I had my name as the primary account holder.
I just gave up and I was using my husband account with me as a guest, my husband was not frequently going to the gym and I was using the membership regularly so they approached me in a very rude way and when I tried to explain “Kelsey, the general manager of South Burlington branch” kicked me out of the gym in a humiliating fashion.
Besides of that I have been approached about the way I dress during my workout not only me but some of my friends experienced the same, I don’t know if they have a problem with people from different nationalities but they way I was approached sounded pretty much xenofobia therefore I don’t recommend at all.

I just canceled my membership today I hope the people that are having the same experience as me should cancel as well because at the end of the day working out it’s all about relief stress and not to be more stressed.

I've been going to this location for about 3 years and it has met my needs. The staff are friendly and helpful. Being open late on the weekends is a big plus since I work non traditional hours. It has also been easy to freeze and cancel my membership when needed. I couldn't care less about having to work out with a mask on. I'm not sure why they haven't changed the rule but it doesn't bother me. For the price, it's worth it. If you are looking for a gym with lots of extra amenities, I would suggest going to a different more expensive gym.

Management here is terrible. You ask the staff here why protocols are such ways in regards to COVID, with responses “management hasn’t provided direction”. Random machines are taped off at different times, signs say following state regulations…. But the state doesn’t have any regulations… yoga studios are at full capacity with no mask requirements, along with the rest of the state, why is Planet Fitness different?

What makes planet fitness so unique or behind the curb? … the management and lack of direction / communication to the staff & patrons that are at the gym daily.

It’s simple. If people don’t feel comfortable without a mask, they will wear one - provide the option to the community who got the state to the current vaccine % we are at.

Barbell squats and bench press can only be done with a Smith machine and they have only one assisted pull-up bar. They have no standard pull-up bars. I didnt put a weight on the assist platform and do standard pullups because I was afraid that might set off the lunk alarm.

The only reason they get two stars is because there are machines to workout on. None of the people who attend this gym wipe down any of the equipment or machines after they are done. Here’s the deal people, do not sign up for this gym if you are a modernized individual. Unfortunately PF has stuck by unnecessary and outdated policies when it comes to dress code, fitness rules, and just an overall unorganized workplace.

Their big “lunk alarm” sign has a quote that pretty much directly contradicts their motto of a “judgement” free zone. It stereotypes a gym-attending male to try and market a safe and comfortable environment. It’s quite frankly a joke and insulting. If anything it made me feel more uncomfortable as a male.

Why doesn’t this place just get over their policies on outfits? Women are specifically targeted it seems, let them wear what they want. Of course there’s such thing as “too much”, but let’s be real, everyone knows there’s a boundary to gym outfits, but PF’s is WAY to high. I’ve had countless friends tell me they’ve been talked to about their outfits, and guess what, they all left. Not to mention most of them were charged BS cancellation fee’s.

I attended the South Burlington facility twice. The first time I got dirty looks from older people for which I’m assuming was because of my outgoing gym presence (grunting, noise using the machines, you know, normal things), get over it people, THESE ARE THE NOISES OF A NORMAL GYM. The second time I was able to have an alright workout, but really struggled to use any of the equipment I wanted because half of everything was roped off due to covid guidelines. It’s just not a good set up right now.

I hate grilling businesses, and most of the problems aren’t specific to this location, it’s the fact that Planet Fitness as a company needs to modernize their facilities and restructure themselves. What I can say is that I have had good conversations with the employees, and most of them are just doing their best with what training they get...

Abhorrent customer service. We cancelled our membership in person (as required) over two years ago, but found that our card was being charged again this November. When calling to find out rationale behind the mix up the staff member answering was rude and unhelpful. Will never use planet fitness again and would advise any and all who are considering membership to think again.

Both the staff at this individual location and the company / corporation as a whole entity need a serious modernization effort in their attitudes and policies. Planet Fitness should be much more concerned with appropriate mask use, and much less concerned with midriffs and bellybuttons.

Worst customer service that I have ever dealt with. The staff doesn't know what they are talking about. The manager Mackenzie doesn't even care to listen when her staff told me the wrong information. The regional manager Kereith responded to my email a week later with a generic response that showed my email wasn't even read. Spend the extra money and go to a gym that actual cares about you as an individual.

Always great to workout in a different location. This location also does not have a weight scale if one were seeking this as an option. There new requirements for COVID19 and things may change based on infection rate across the state

They are charging for a membership but are not open. The State of Vermont is not an open State. I’ve got to pay for a membership I can’t use. How do I cancel? Not cool Planet Fitness!

I canceled my membership in March because I moved away. I have been charged 3 times since the gym reopened and have not heard back from anyone in management regarding a refund and I have to mail in another cancelation letter because they didn't do it correctly the first time.

It’s small and a bit tight on space, but there’s enough equipment and a small enough group of frequent gym-goers that I very rarely have to wait to use anything. Seems like a cardio-heavy group, weights are almost always open. It’s enough, and for me, that’s all I need in a gym, not a luxury service

It's really clean and pretty nonjudgmental. Been going for the past few weeks and I go in the afternoons, it can get quite busy and you quickly realize it isn't that large of a place. However, they fit tons of different machines and equipment in so you can work out whatever you want. I know they have tanning beds and massage chairs but I've never been in there.

Walked into Planet Fitness in S. Burlington at about 11:45pm to use the treadmill but they were all turned up. Seeing as how there was one person using a treadmill I asked the Blonde Female with the septum piercing if I could use one but she told me no and that she had to mop. I asked her long it would take and, with attitude and a shrug, told me “I don’t know, like 20 minutes” This is the second time I’ve gotten attitude from this specific employee. Im getting over a a knee and hip injury so there’s only a few activities I can do at the gym so I’m already limited to the machines I can use. Not impressed.
