About the Club

The Body Lab is a boutique Pilates studio in Burlington, Vermont offering private, semi-private and group Pilates instruction 7 days a week.
We are redefining traditional Pilates classes with a modern spin on the workout that transforms your body.

Our method is designed to increase strength and flexibility, build lean muscle and keep the body mobile. Each session is unique, complete with heart-pumping music, a high energy atmosphere and detailed instruction. With a focus on power, precision, and control, Pilates will work every element of your physical and mental strength. We focus on strengthening all major muscle groups in addition to those smaller muscles that have a big impact on how your body tones and gains definition.

I love The Body Lab! I had never tried pilates before starting here and have now been attending about twice a week for 5 months. I’m feeling so many benefits. Much fewer aches and pains, my lower back issues rarely flare up and when they do it subsides sooner. Seeing growth in muscle, posture, alignment, balance and coordination. It’s fun, yet relaxing. Flow classes give a thorough full body workout without being overly strenuous— they also have more intense options available.

There are many instructors who all have their own unique personality in coaching and class structure. I always leave feeling better than I arrived and happy that I showed up. Very grateful for this local studio and all who work so hard to make it a consistently excellent experience for class attendees. 🫶

I am so grateful to have started at the Body Lab consistently over two years ago! I had always been too intimidated to start going to a studio regularly, but the community and environment here is incredibly supportive and kind. The classes (especially Athletic Reformer and Tone) are very challenging, and all the instructors are wonderful. As a medical student, there have been so many days where I think I would've skipped working out had I not had the Body Lab - not only do I feel physically much better, I feel so much happier stepping out of class.

I've tried classes at studios in NYC, Boston, and San Francisco, and the Body Lab is by far the best (thanks in large part to the incredible team). I can only hope to find a studio that I love as much when I move to the Boston area!

Absolutely the best Pilates studio I’ve ever been to. I love the slow pace to get your body stronger without injury. The helpfulness of the instructors, even in a class of 12 I’m getting notes on form. It’s such a positive place and I’m grateful for how strong and balanced it’s help me to be.

We had a blast at this studio! My pilates studio staff was on retreat in Vermont and 5 of my instructors and myself went to Sydney's studio to take a class with her. The Body Lab has made me one of those people. You know, the kind who you only have to talk to for five minutes before they find a way to talk about Pilates. Not sorry about it! At 40, their athletic reformer classes have gotten me in the best shape of my life. And that’s including a decade of yoga classes! The classes are fun, challenging and always a good time. Every instructor is encouraging and knowledgeable. But best of all, it’s a welcoming and fun community that I couldn’t imagine my life without!
Be warned though. It’s totally addicting!

To say I am obsessed is an understatement.

The Body Lab has literally saved my sanity. Sydney’s effervescence is the perfect way to start the day, and her workouts have not only gotten me in great shape, but helped me heal after multiple surgeries.

While I reference the owner Sydney’s classes, I could say this about any class and any instructor. Regular workouts here have made me strong enough for anything. You won’t regret a moment spent at The Body Lab!

I am so thankful for The Body Lab! I've learned Pilates and gotten so much stronger and more flexible. The nature of Pilates is supported strength training, and it's great for all ages and fitness levels. I never thought I could do Reformer Pilates, but I was intrigued so I called to ask about it. Sydney was so reassuring that any body type and skill level can benefit. She was there for my first class to guide me through, and she was so supportive- I've been hooked ever since! It's exercise that is challenging, but easy on your joints. I have been going three times a week for 8 months and no two classes are the same so it remains exciting and effective! I'm so grateful that I found The Body Lab!
