I highly recommend Julia for personal training! I started working with Julia earlier this year because I've had hip and low back pain for years that often flared up when I exercised. Julia has been incredibly focused on getting to the root cause of the pain during our sessions. The targeted strengthening and mobility exercises she's recommended for me have been very effective. She has also helped me with form for exercises I often do in workout classes so that I'm doing them safely while getting the most out of them. I was hesitant to work with a personal trainer, but training with Julia has been so much more helpful than PT was for me and is absolutely worth it!

Excellent. ...a lovely addition to the wellness scene in Vermont.

Julia and the Tula Kula wellness collective focus on mind-body wellness with healthy daily movement, strength, and physical conditioning.

I have really enjoyed my fitness sessions there. Julia brings a kind, welcoming demeanor paired with significant knowledge of physical well-being (and more!).

Through the partnership program, she is able to bring several areas related to health and well-being into a lovely vintage space in Downtown Burlington, Vermont. She has also carved out a unique niche with regional artists through monthly markets.

I'm confident there will be many more great things to come to the Tula Kula wellness collective!

Julia is amazing! She targets exactly where i want to see improvement and gives me instructions that make sense and are easy to do at home. She even curated exercises i can do at work. There have been SO many times she taught me an exercise that I thought i was doing right on my own, but turns out there is a way more effective way. I feel stronger and motivated to keep going-which is new for me! If you’re looking to get in shape and want to have fun doing it-look no further!

Julia has helped me to be aware of how I move my body throughout each day. The skills I have developed with her have resulted in improved posture, even weight distribution, the relaxation of tension and an overall boost in confidence. I am also experiencing increased benefits in my yoga practice. Perhaps what I have enjoyed most in working with Julia is her ability to listen and then to deliver instruction that supports my immediate and long term health goals.

I LOVE classes at Tula! Julia has a really personalized approach to her teaching. While there are so many things that I love about her classes, one of my favorite things is how Julia teaches us about WHY a certain form is optimal, and she shows us how it makes a difference. Specifically, I've learned a lot more about how to get in deeper squats, and also how rolling out certain muscles - like my shoulders- can improve mobility and therefore, my workouts, drastically!

The small classes are helpful because you never have to worry about doing moves too quickly or with the wrong form, and Julia will always come over and help you if you need assistance, or in my case - forget how to do the move.

Julia also remembers everyone's injuries or mobility limitations, and she proactively provides modifications based on what each person needs and is working on as necessary, which is something you wouldn't get in bigger classes or studios!

I've been going to classes at Tula for almost a year, and I've been thrilled with how consistent I've stayed, and how strong I've progressed to be (and continue to do so).

If you are looking for small group training, or a personal trainer, I couldn't recommend Julia more -- come join us!!

I've struggled with poor posture and hyper joint mobility my entire adult life, but a shoulder injury years ago led me to multiple physical therapists with varying results. I gave up for a number of years and just assumed that any weight-bearing yoga was out of my reach. Through my work with Julia, I've learned so much about how my body holds tension and trauma, and actionable, easy steps to release it. While my body feels stronger, I'm more grateful that she has changed my mindset about what is accessible to me, and how I can get from pain to function more gracefully.

Julia has been one of the most important constants in my life the past four years. She has helped me get into the best shape of perhaps my entire adult life! (After twin pregnancy seven years ago, I truly thought fitness was a lost cause.) Julia is such a valuable partner to have alongside you, on your fitness journey!

We've been working together on so many progressive and evolving goals for all of these years, it is hard to quantify all that she has helped me to accomplish. I have achieved things that I specifically was certain I could NOT do. Through the four years of being trained by Julia, I have completed 2 half marathons, 5 Spartan races, & an 11-mile trail race. I’m training now for a virtual marathon; I've also trimmed my visceral fat level from 11 in 2018 to 6 in 2021, measured through InBody metrics. I've decreased fat, increased my muscle tone and volume, and built excellent habits into my diet and exercise routine.

During March 2020, she quickly adapted our workouts to be conducted virtually, and just did not miss a beat. It was a challenging time but Julia supported me through the pandemic in helping me focus on what I could control. Increasing my physical activity and continuing to train together twice weekly helped me lose 15lbs over 6 months, even during the global pandemic when my weight could have easily gone the opposite direction. I also started to implement daily workouts with Julia's support, on top of our training - and this is certainly what kept me from going completely insane during this unprecedented time.

I am SO grateful for the expertise, professionalism, friendship, and most importantly for Julia's unwavering commitment to my fitness!
