This was a great gym, but now they aren’t even open 24/7. The main reason I joined this gym was to come workout during the night. I know a lot of people in this area work at night and would like to go to the gym during the night. I pay for the 24 hour service. Only thing great about this gym in the area is the basketball court and the price is pretty low for all the equipment and amenities this gym offers.

Stay away from personal training sessions! They will sell you certain prices and will charge you more. And the trainers are not that great. Just take personal training sessions somewhere else!

My fiancΓ© was looking to test out this gym with their 3 day pass as he was downgrading from a lifetime membership because this is closer to his work. DAVID proceeded to pressure us to join and made the initial tour very uncomfortable. We spoke with him Saturday, and my fiancΓ© said he would be in Monday to test out. David stated β€œif you come in Monday the pass works for mon, tues, wed” So he went in monday and everything was fine, then when he went in Tuesday the little girl at the front desk claimed his free pass expired saying she checked, without knowing his name and without physically checking. Clearly David was salty about not getting a member to join because he has no human skills whatsoever and told her to not let him in for his second free trial day. Little did he know that he was going to join after the 3rd day. So bravo on pushing away potential members

The gym itself is nice but the customer service experience has seriously lacked since I got my membership. A member of the membership team Guisseppi attached my information to someone else's membership which led to a plethora of problems. That wasn't finally resolved until 2 months later with no assistance from Matthew who set up my membership. Once he got his sale he absolutely gave no f*ks. Today I see that my account was charged $49.99 which is not my monthly price nor is it my due date. So i called in and spoke with Steven who advised it was the annual fee and that I could have missed that during the presentation and its in the contract. No one misses convo's about extra money and I wasn't aware that I needed to read my gym contract to ensure there aren't additional fees. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DO SO WITH ANOTHER GYM!!

What presentation was he talking about? I didn't get a presentation. I set up my membership via phone after I came in and for a free workout and the salesman (Matthew) never bothered to tell me about the fee. Because they had my info set up under someone else's account, I didn't receive a copy of my contract. I received someone else's. When I went and requested it they told me they could not and had to print it out. However, Steve was able to send it to me today, 3 months later. To know Matthew omitted information about additional annual fees and the experience I've had with them is disgusting... I do not recommend this facility.

I received a membership through my employer. I work in Tyson’s but live elsewhere so it was convenient for me to go to the fairfax location who turned me away. I tried redeeming my membership and the person there said β€œcome back tomorrow I can’t do this” but I’m supposed to be able to use all of the facilities. I came to this one next as it was the second closest and I was angry, expecting the same thing but got the opposite! The guy I spoke with wa super helpful, got me set up and everything. I’ve been going to this gym 5/7 days a week for the last 2 weeks and I think I’ll stick with it! Best customer service at a gym I have ever received!

It is a fair gym, the quality varies from time to time a lot. I think the one in Fairfax nearby the Costco is way much better than this one. Here are my reasons:
1. The cleanness: Very often the shower room is very dirty and full with bubbles. It is kind of gross. A lot of people likes to be naked in the locker room, especially old guys (which I feel very disgusting...), and sometimes the ground will be full with used towers. I never find this problem in the Fairfax one.

2. The equipment are not enough, especially the squat rack. They also purchased a pushing cart, which you can do push weight traning, but there is no bars you can hold. I asked them to give me the bar, but the answer is "they are supposed to be like that (smile)". I am like ".....you've got to be kidding me".

3. The Fairfax one they always smile to you and be very nice. Here they kind of do that too, but not in a sincere way. An example is the pushing cart I mentioned above. I feel they just want to avoid the responsibility.

Recently there are some small improvement, but I think they can do a better job. If it is not the distance problem, I will totally go to the Fairfax one.

I have been visiting this facility from past 3 years. The fitness center has amazing facilities like...basketball court, swimming pool, lot of exercise machines etc. They offer many group activities without extra cost which includes YOGA. Also offer baby care while you workout.
This facility has one racquetball court. That's why I joined here. I enjoy playing here. On the downside, it has only one court :(.

First of all, the location of this gym is awesome. While on the treadmill or elliptical, you basically overlook all of Tyson's Corner - very neat! I've been a long time member and I like the gym for the most part. Having worked out every day since I was 16, I've experienced many different gyms. In the area, this includes Crunch, Gold's, Fitness First.

SPACE: The space has high ceilings, plenty of equipment to include free weights, weight machines, and aerobic machines (including treadmills, stair masters, elliptical), it has a racquetball court, swimming pool, basketball court, and offers different types of fitness classes. I've only made use of the first 4 listed, but it's nice to know the others are available should I need or desire to use them. The locker rooms are large and have plenty of lockers available. You will need your own lock, but there are lockers in the hallway outside of the locker rooms that have their own easy-to-use combination locking mechanism built in. There are some pieces of equipment that I wish they had more of (e.g. leg curl machine, only have 1) and some that I wished they had at all (e.g. military press rack), but there are ways to work around it. It's never overcrowded (I typically come in anywhere between 6 and 9am depending on my schedule, but have come in as early as 4am and as late as 10am).

STAFF: The staff overall is good. The general manager Steve has always been friendly and helpful. Kevin who works the front desk is also always very friendly with a greeting when you arrive and a goodbye when you leave. Tho I've never utilized any of the trainer services, Rick, one of the trainers, seems to exude the friendly and nice persona as well. Other trainers, not so much. I once was about to do a set on a bench, and one of the trainers, Josh, voiced in an extremely rude manner "I'm using that bench SIR!" The tone in his voice was that of "don't you dare touch that bench." No "excuse me," no "you can work in if you'd like," zero smile, and zero friendliness. He was training someone a couple of benches away and was apparently supersetting between benches. Which is fine, but he hadn't even started his set on the other bench yet. The STAFF SETS THE CULTURE. We ALL pay dues here, and we all have EQUAL RIGHTS to equipment, regardless of whether you are training someone or not. The new person he's training sees this and believes this is how gym etiquette should work... i.e. what's mine is mine, not yours or ours. One star off for his poor attitude and zero grasp of the concept of SHARING.

MEMBERS: Members typically all do their own thing, many with ear buds in, get their workout in and leave, and I am similar in that regard. Whenever someone asks about a piece of equipment I'm using, I always offer to allow them to work in while I'm resting between sets. That's standard gym etiquette. However, I've noticed that some members have no familiarity of the concept of "working in." When I've asked some people if I may work in on a piece of equipment, on more than one occasion, I get a blank stare that seems to say "I have no idea what you mean" or "no you may not." And it's no wonder, with trainers like Josh from the above section bellowing and claiming a bench for only his use and no one else's, setting a poor example for the new gym-goers that he's training. The MEMBER CULTURE IS REFLECTIVE of the what the staff sets.

CONCLUSION: Great space and equipment, staff is good overall with some exceptions, some staff and members aren't familiar with standard gym etiquette.

I will never join this gym again. It’s over crowded, unclean. The sell’s person convinced me and sold a package agreeing on waving the annual fee and that I can freez my account for no charge! Well, I was charged the annual fee and they activated my account and charged me without my authorization!!!
Please do your research and homework before signing up with them. It’s a shame that the manager was short and disrespectful over the phone. Zero customer service 🀭

5- clean equipments , and clean place .
6- price is reasonable .
7- basketball field + training training room where you can plug in your AUX for your favorite music .

Super Sports class? Really? On Sat. between 10:30-11:30 AM June 2, I took a towel from the pile in the entrance to the group class and discovered an uncleaned dirty stain in about 3". After the class, I brought the towel to the front desk. There were 3 clerks in front. One was serving a customer and the other two were sitting on the desk playing their phones. I walked to one of the two concentrating playing the phone and showed him the big dirty stain said "The stain on the towel didn't get cleaned. It is not from me because I am not wearing make up this morning". He looked at me replied "It's not from you? You can throw it away." then, ignored the situation and back to his phone business.

This is not the first time your associates' ignorance when we brought up the issues. Do you have a manager in Tysons? You have the worst people service within the all the locations. You got to change it.

By far the best deal in the northern VA area, as the facilities include a pool, basketball court, classes, along with the obvious weight room, locker rooms and cardio area. The place definitely gets jam packed the earlier in the week you go, especially at peak hours around 6pm when everyone is off work. However, there are definitely more pros than cons. I joined after being at Gold’s for 6 months because I wanted to play pickup basketball, which is almost always going on. Sounds obvious, but the convenience of being able to go whenever you want during the day is nice too, especially on weekends. I also love that there are always fresh towels to use at the front desk if you’re a heavy sweater. The people here are very nice, and if you’re big into supplements they are always having some sort of sale going on and don’t charge an arm and a leg like some shops do (GNC). Overall great, only negatives are that it does get crowded, and machines are frequently out of order with the high volume of people who call this gym home.

By far my favorite gym in the area. I've been a member here for maybe almost a year and a half, and 24 Hour Fitness has all my needs.

I joined last year when I was looking for a gym in the area as I had grown tired of using my weights and equipment at home, and the community center gym I had been using was really beginning to feel limiting. I tried out Gold's gym, okay but not very welcoming, and XSport, which was better than Gold's but felt a bit too much like a social gym along with feeling way too overcrowded. 24 Hour Fitness, particularly the one in Tyson's, won out easily.

I love the spacious basketball court, I love that it is 24 hours (obviously), and the locker rooms are typical guy locker rooms, but they feel relatively cleaner than most others I've tried out. Most of the staff there are always warm and welcoming, even when I typically get there at 3:30 AM for my first workout of the day, and it's nice seeing the friendly and familiar faces each day when I go in to work out whether it's morning or afternoon.

If I had to knock this gym for anything, it would be that the number of resistance/lifting machines are somewhat limited compared to other 24HF gyms in the area - they basically only have one each of most machines, only one set of battle ropes, etc., but there is plenty of space in the gym for other workouts. This also makes sense as even at peak hours, the gym never feels overly crowded, and there's usually always a bench or machine available to use. There are plenty of cardio machines, and I've never had to wait for an elliptical machine (which I generally use to warm up before my lifting/strength/resistance training).

My fellow gym-goers at 24HF Tysons are also pretty cool compared to others. I don't generally feel like people are just watching or staring like I feel at some other gyms, and most people are generally pretty respectful, even if you accidentally slide in on a machine or bench you didn't realize they were already using.

Overall, I feel like this is the best 24 Hour Fitness gym, and fitness center in general, in the DC area, and as far as I can tell, I'll be a member for life.

Manager Steve is great; professional, helpful, efficient. Gym is clean, well stocked and rarely ever full of people. Sufficient amount of dumbbells, TRX, they even have hex bars for deadlifting, Airex pads and sleds for conditioning-unheard of in a commercial gym usually. The Kids Club staff are brilliant. And all the front desk staff are warm and friendly. This is a great gym for the membership fee.

PSA: If you're in it for the long term, sign up through Costco. 2 year membership for $650 (roughly $27/month) and you don't have to be a costco member.

I've worked out at this gym for a week now so thought I would review.
Pros: Large facility(pool, group workout rooms, basketball court,sauna/hot tub), garage parking, right above walmart, tons of equipment, clean, friendly staff
Cons: Can get a bit packed during peak hour, mainly affecting the dumbbell area and cable machine. The sinks in the mens locker room need fixing.

If compared to the falls church location, I think falls church comes out on top slightly due to seemingly larger dumbbell area and more benches. Both are great nonetheless!

The only redeeming quality at this gym is the price and the numerous cardio machines. I tried it on a 3 day pass and I'm so glad I didn't join after the first impression. It was so busy even late at night that I couldn't use any of the equipment I wanted on the day I tried to lift. Then I swam one day and it was very unpleasant to try swimming laps in a 3 foot pool with narrow lanes and 6 people trying to share 3 lanes. I tried to shower afterwards but the showers just trickled water out of the showerhead. The worst part though is that they advertise that the pool is saltwater but there's no way it is just salt water. My skin burned for hours after swimming and my competition TYR swimsuit which is built to withstand months of chlorine exposure TOTALLY DISINTEGRATED. My swimsuit is completely ruined now and after a lot of experience with competition swimsuits and chlorine I can confidently say that this would not happen in a pool that is only saltwater or even a chlorine pool. If you do join, don't use the pool or hot tub.

I started my month-to-month membership with the biggly discounted $30 initiation fee ($150 regularly), and standard $50/month rate in late February '17. Had I joined in January, I could have taken advantage of their rare $0 initiation fee -- oh, well...

On day 1 I was charged the initiation fee plus the first AND last month of my month-to-month plan ($130 in my case), with automatic $50/month billing to my debit card.

After reading most all of the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews (I tend to focus on bad reviews), I went with the expectation that the 24 Hour Fitness in Tysons, Va had a unkempt locker/shower room, packed parking garage (free of charge with validation ticket stub), exercise equipment out of service, with some malcontent staff roaming the gym. Given the time of year (New Years weight loss resolution with tempting discount promos everywhere), I also went in half-expecting the gym to be pretty crowded with new members like myself...

Visit/Tour: I decided to come in for a tour on a late weekday afternoon (during their peak hours) where I was immediately introduced to a member of the Sales department, a gentleman by the name of Ramon. He was very cordial and professional - he walked me through every part of the gym, from the cardio and cable machines, free weights, personal training area, temporary combination locker cubbies (if you want quick access and don't have a lock on you), showers/locker room (BYOL), hot tub/swimming pool/saunas area, cycling spin room and yoga classroom. I asked Ramon a bunch of questions throughout the tour and inquired about the online comments regarding broke machines -- he explained that there is a repairman in-house that can perform immediate repairs (unless it's critically damaged requiring parts getting shipped in). Ramon was very informative and offered a lot of tips and suggestions based on his own personal experience -- much appreciated. He also took the time to answer every one of my questions before tour ended. I was then offered the 3-day trial and went on my way.

My experience: I workout every other day during the early morning hours, so my experience may not be as relatable to those who go during the midday/afternoon/evening. The front desk is staffed 8 out of 10 times (if they aren't elsewhere doing cleanup/maintenance around the gym), and greet me with a friendly "good morning", "how are you doing" before welcoming me after entering my phone number and fingerprint scan (which can act wonky at times). The entrance is consistently clean with a good supply of small and big towels as you walk in. I usually see anywhere from 2 to 6 members during the very early morning hours so yeah, the place is pretty much deserted. By 6am I can see the place gradually fill up with anywhere from 8 to 14 - still pretty sparse for a gym this yuge. I find the men's locker room to very well maintained -- the condition of the tiles floor are great, as are all the faux-wood lockers (BYOL). The walls are all painted white with paintings and big screen flat TVs hanging. The bathroom stalls are kept clean, the oversized showers are all well maintained and spacious (however one shower has a glass door that makes a deafening squeaking noise when you close it). As for the equipment (I use cardio, cable and free weights), I have yet to come across a broken or out of service piece of apparatus, with the exception of the saunas which were recently unavailable for a couple of days due to an internal senor getting repaired -- both wet and dry saunas are now fully up and running along with the hot tub and swimming pool (aka: the wet area) at the time of this post. Everything else seems to be fully operational -- at least all the devices I use. Lastly, there're a few cardio machines that have their individualized TV monitors, but they are pretty limited. Furthermore, the channel selection is even more limited -- "good enough" VGA monitor resolution, but just a handful of cable channels. There are however big screen TVs hanging overhead throughout the gym.

Conclusion: I highly, HIGHLY recommend this location.

I'm an early gym goer, about 5:30 AM to 8 AM...used to go to the Gold's on 7, and when it was still a fitness first. Also was an XSport fitness member- hated it! NEVER a free bench or weight, and it was like a meat- sausage fest in there. The Gold's was just old and the showers were terrible. Saw 24 hour, LOVED the facility and though it has a decent crowd in the AM, it is NEVER packed to the point where I have had to look for weights or benches. New machines, open and plenty of equipment, and spa- like bathrooms- I'm in love. This is closer to my work but I will drive to this location because it is so awesome. The staff are great and friendly. This is now my home gym, recruiting as many of my friends I can. Got the military discount, very happy with everything.

When the gym first opened up, it was great. Finally, an affordable gym in the Tyson's area that is clean, has nice equipment, and great facilities. Well that didn't last long!

Twice they have had issues where the gym had to close, and they gave no notice to members! I go there in the morning's before work, and now I was scrambling to find a place I can shower and get dress! To this day, I still haven't heard back from anyone on an email I sent about how there is no member notifications!

On top of the horrible communication on the gym closure, they went for 1-2 weeks where the showers only had cold water. Again, no communication to members! Just a printed out piece of paper around the gym.

They are letting the equipment go. I think every other treadmill TV doesn't work.

The locker rooms are disgusting! Members just leave their towels and empty bottles around, and yet no one from the gym is going through doing routine clean checks as they first did.

The shower water pressure is horrible! You're trying to clean up under a light trickle of water.

This place could be good, but I guess you get what you pay for!

I attempted to visit this club with a guest pass from the website, but I was turned away at the front desk because I was from Maryland and I had to pay $25 to try the gym out. I later received a call from someone named Queue, who told me it was a misunderstanding and the person at the front desk shouldn't be there, and he would take care of it. I went in again only to face the same story. The communication between the departments is poor at best. Next, The service here is HORRIBLE, if you're in Maryland(or any other state other than Virginia)and not within 5 miles of the gym according to the 'Manager' Joseph at the front desk, you have to pay $25 to get in as a guest to even try it out. This contradicts everything I was told by 24 Hour Fitness Corporate, as I was told you had to be within a 10 mile radius of the club. I was, even though I lived in Maryland.

They won't let you into the club, even with a guest pass(for free) if you're not within five miles of the club. Mr. Joseph needs to go through some customer service training, or back to school and major in Management as he'd know that turning away potential members is indeed bad for business. Second, Mr Joseph who claims to be a Manager(Never met a manager that checks people in at the front desk.) is very rude. I use to go to Lifetime Fitness, and they NEVER EVER said my friends can't try the gym out just because they're from 'out of state'. 24 Hour Fitness is a very clean, but you soon realize that it is a glorified LA Fitness. Don't waste your time with the Tyson's Corner Location. Not sure about the others.

One more thing to note, for a gym that opened up so recently, the equipment sure does look like it's dated. The treadmills look like they're four years old, at least.

The gyms Club Manager doesn't return emails or calls either. They're all forwarded to the front desk. I'd consider a complete management overhaul at this location. Poor management skills, poor customer service.

Going back to Lifetime Fitness where my business is appreciated, and I don't have to pay to try out the club to see if I like it.

I really love this gym actually. Its' really convenient for me to get to for the most part. The parking garage is the most annoying thing where you have to go through the gate to grab a ticket and only pay if you're there more than 2 hours. If you drive in from Rt. 7 you have to maneuver through the Wal Mart traffic but overall not much to complain about. I typically go after the 5pm rush so I dont usually have an issue with the packed gym scenario. Great brand new facility (lots of cardio, weights, stretching, TRX, racquetball, basketball court, open exercise floor area, lap pool, hot tub, spin room, group exercise classes), new equipment, great space with lots of things to do. I wish there were more boxing bags though as there is only 1 and the only thing is that some of the equipment is locked up only for trainers to use with clients. Not sure why I can't use them myself? But the lockers are nice, bathrooms are nice, lots of stuff to use, free towels, lots of classes if that's your thing and I've never really had an issue so far. All the staff is super nice too. I got the awesome Costco deal so great value for me. I'm here very often and if you come on the weekends its even less crowded! There's also some babysitting services i've seen although haven't used. You checkin at the front desk with your cell phone number and a fingerprint scan. Very high tech!

This is probably the best gym in Tyson's corner for sure, they have all the facilities, good service and good trainers.

I take a spinning class here and then after I go play some basketball in the gym's court. I play basketball afterwards as per the suggestion of my trainer. In fact I have talked to a lot of the trainers in this gym and they are all polite and they all offer one opinion or another of training your body, which just tells me they all are experts in their own way which is great as it tells me that they didn't just give me a random trainer, but one that was specific to my training regime.

After my whole training routine I go to the excellent spa facility for about thirty minutes and hit the showers. The most important thing for me about the showers is that they are sparkly clean. Plus, they give you dry and crispy to use when you enter which is a great plus.

Definitely love this gym more than any others I have tried and I have already signed up for a six month membership.

Let me start for the price, it is 50dlls per month (taxes are included).
The initiation fee is $74 dlls (taxes included) just 1 person of the family has to pay it, If there is a good deal you canskip paying this fee.

PROS:
Since the place it is new it has a lot of state of the art cardio and heavy lifting equipment, plus all the classes are free (spinning, zumba, body pump, body combat, etc), it has a swimming pool (3 lanes), sauna, steam and jacuzzi (it is mixed so you can use it with your significant other) and the lockers are free of pay.

I thought that the place would be always crowded because of the area but you will always find free the machine you want to use and a space in the classes.

They have a really nice kid's club in which they watch over your kid for up to 2 hours, for that extra service I am paying 10 dlls a month (taxes included) because I got a good deal.

Personnel is always friendly and willing to help you.

Since Walmart is in the ground level I use to go and get my groceries after working out.

CONS:
The parking is free only for the first 2 hours (this is enough for me)

The cost for each session with a personal trainer is $60 (I'm not sure how much they charge in other places), they'll give 1 free session.

PS: If you want to become a member make sure you talk to Tommy he will find a good deal for you.

Hope it helps!

First, I should say that I was very reluctant to join any gym because a) I thought it would basically be wasted money and b) I have a very small fitness center in my condo I thought would suffice. However after seeing a good deal on their website, I decided to go for it.

This gym is brand spanking new, so you get state-of-the-art equipment in a contemporary building in Tysons Corner. They've got plenty of cardio machines, weights, a basketball court, a racquetball court, lap pools, sauna and steam room, group exercise classes, and personal trainers. The group exercise classes do not cost extra and range from cycling to zumba.

24 Hour Fitness is super clean. They always have people cleaning locker rooms/bathrooms and emptying out the towel bins. They have lockers for you to store your stuff in, plus these high-tech water fountains where you can fill up your water bottles. They give you a towel when you check in and you don't even need to carry out a gym card to check in - just a fingerprint and a passcode.

So far I've only been on some of the cardio machines and lifted weights, but I can't wait to swim in the lap pools and get in on the group classes. I got a pretty good deal from their website of $55/month and it'll go down to $45 a month after a year. Not too bad but certainly not the cheapest. However, for the facilities, group classes, the fact that it's open 24 hours a day, and all the other pros, I think it's not a bad deal at all. I especially like that it's open 24 hours a day and I can go later in the evening if I want to. Even so, I've been here around 6-7pm and it hasn't been crowded at all.

Plus, if you're a Costco member, they have two deals - the 2-year All Club Sport for $369.99 and the 2-year All Club Super Sport for $649.99. Tysons Corner is a 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport gym, so if you get the Costco deal, make sure to choose Super Sport. Really good deals for two years.
