About the Club

3S stands for Strength, Sweat, Stretch.
At 3S we are dedicated to making a yoga experience that is athletic, fun, and accessible. We provide a safe, non-judgmental environment encouraging flexibility, strength, energy, and community. Our signature 3S class is a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) yoga movement class that will strengthen your body, stretch your muscles, and sweat the rest out. Our vinyasa classes connect breath, body, and movement creating a dynamic, athletic yoga experience. We couldn't be happier to open our first yoga studio in Richmond and are grateful to have found the teachers and community that we have found.

Come join us and see what we can do for you!
We would love to have you!

I started going to classes this summer and have loved every single one, no matter the teacher. Additionally, the customer service is kind, quick, and human-centered, something we need more of these days. Highly recommend this business.

Tried Vinyasa with Jenny on ClassPass. Just wanted to try and it isn’t quite for me, but I think that makes it mean more that I found the instructor and the person who checked me in INCREDIBLE! So descriptive in instruction on how to do poses, friend, and positive. I had fun!

All the teachers I have taken so far have been amazing. They make you feel safe and heard. I am new to this area and they have given me the confidence I needed to start yoga. I’m really glad that Richmond has such a great yoga place for the community!

A wonderful yoga community in an excellent location with a range of classes and schedules, great teachers, with lots of cool and unique events every so often. And definitely take advantage of the $30 for 30, one of the best deals in town!

Wonderful community of friendly yogis, with some of the best vinyasa classes in Richmond (and I've been to several other studios in the metro area). The studio is located in a wonderful and accessible area as well, with lots of little cafes around that you can walk to with friends after a great relaxing and rejuvenating class!

I went to 3S for years, surrounding my difficult postpartum period and divorce. I grew into a woman that I never knew could exist, inside of those four walls. I recently took a break for about a year because I moved. But it is absolutely worth the drive and I am so glad to be back! I can’t find a studio that fills my cup the way 3S does. Thank you guys for loving me through my journey!

The instructors at 3S Yoga are AMAZING! Since I moved to Richmond over a year ago, I've been attending Nayeda's classes at Stone Brewery and Bingo Beer. She's wonderful and her classes are so fun! She also incorporates HIIT into some of her workouts so you get your cardio and yoga in one class. I couldn't recommend more highly!

Edit to add review about a recent yoga retreat o went on with 3S Yoga and Align RVA:

I recently had the absolute pleasure of attending a yoga retreat in Italy hosted by Align RVA and 3S Yoga, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the experience.

Andrew (Align RVA) and Nadeya (3S Yoga) planned and led a trip that was equal parts rejuvenating, well-organized, and deeply meaningful. From the very beginning, they were incredibly communicative, keeping us informed before, during, and even after the retreat, and created a seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish.

The itinerary was a perfect blend of beautifully curated activities with plenty of opportunities to explore on our own. Even when faced with unpredictable weather, Andrew and Nadeya handled everything with grace and flexibility, ensuring we didn’t miss out on a magical boat tour to Capri (a major highlight!) and adjusting shuttle logistics to accommodate changing conditions without missing a beat.

The yoga was thoughtfully tailored to each day, from invigorating morning practices to a deeply restorative yoga nidra after a long day. The location for our yoga overlooking Capri was absolutely breathtaking. A moment I’ll never forget. Transportation, meals, excursions, every detail was handled with care. But what really stood out was the incredible sense of community they fostered. Andrew and Nadeya cultivated such a welcoming and connected group energy, helping build genuine relationships among people who began the week as strangers.

It’s clear how much time, energy, and heart went into making this retreat so special. If you’re considering a retreat with Align RVA or 3S Yoga, do it! You will be supported, inspired, and walk away with unforgettable memories and new friends.

TL;DR: If you need a little grace, this is not your place. Non-inclusive zero tolerance late policy means the door locks at the exact time listed on the booking and no one will let you in. Don’t even try.

Updating to say I got a prompt refund for my class pass (because I have decided there just isn’t a way I can guarantee being there early and can’t afford to lose the money for a missed class). I stand by all my opinions on the policy and am leaving this review up to allow a full understanding of what you’re signing up for here.

Once over a year ago it was 7:17 for a 7:15 class and today, the cusp of 7:18 for a 7:15 class. I’m not knocking a late policy, I’m knocking how extreme this one is.

The classes and instructors are great but if you can’t even get in the door, the classes don’t matter!

This policy just makes doing yoga like going into a proctored exam. If you were trying to heal any sort of emotional issue via body work, you now have a new one from being met with a locked door while people inside look at you like “sorry sucker.”

If it’s about space filling up, why aren’t they selling a finite number of tickets. You know how big the space is.

Some people don’t have perfectly together lives. Are they not allowed to do yoga? Aren’t they the ones who need it most? I can’t be the only one who has a lot going on but still really wants to practice yoga in community. Some people need a couple minutes grace sometimes. Literally a couple minutes. I just don’t think that’s too much to ask.

So if you have nothing really going on in your life and you’re really on top of it, and you just aren’t slammed with responsibilities and unpredictable toddlers, do yoga here all the time. Seriously, no shade to you the people who love it here and can work with this. Y’all are some lucky folks.

For the rest of us scrappy folk, I guess we need to start a yoga studio in the east end called 5m, as in 5 minutes late 🥴

I'm looking forward to practicing at rooftop Sundays this summer. Kelly knows all the sequences that will build strength and keep you flexible as you get older. I started with sequences like Kelly offers when I was twenty. I'm 41 now, strong and flexible with realistic and healthy body image. Aging comes with pain and getting these flows and postures will help you so much as you hit the 40s and 50s.

3S made me absolutely fall in love with yoga! I’ve loved coming to practice here for the past 2 years. They have a wonderful mix of teachers and class styles. You can choose to push yourself with awesome workouts like 3S Interval, try something new like classes completely in French, or take a restorative zen class to fully relax and get away from stress. It’s a small intimate space that is perfect, especially now with the new spaces out front. I recommend it to anyone interested in yoga!

Not inclusive. Mediocre service. Racist.

I would like to address your claim that we have been “disrespectful in class” or “disrespectful towards others in class.” We attended 3S yoga for two years without such complaints, making your assertion about us being called out several times completely inaccurate. You sent an email accusing us of these matters without ever discussing them with us or providing any clarification, relying solely on hearsay since you weren’t present in class. Before accusing anyone of anything, it is essential to have documented proof and facts; otherwise, such accusations can be considered defamatory.

Moreover, if speaking quietly to each other that day in our native language offended you (not even in class that day) or the teacher (Carly), maybe you need to reevaluate yourselves and your biases.

Furthermore, I'd like to remind you that we have documented evidence of your email stating you “were happy to assist with the refund,” followed by your later retraction where you said, “You cannot issue refunds for previous months.” You did not provide us with the option for “refunds in the traditional manner.” That terminology appears to have been created later to justify your change in position. A refund, by its basic definition, means returning the money we paid for classes at your studio. To this day, you have not processed any refund "traditional" or not.

As a piece of advice for ensuring your small business's success: it is crucial to gather and verify your facts before making accusations. Transparency and honesty are vital – people don’t appreciate dishonesty.

No need to worry, remember that due to your bias, racist and dishonest behavior we were the ones that choose to avoid the studio at all costs and will advise others with this review to do the same.

Preach inclusivity as part of their motto but exclude others that do not want to participate. Try to impose their spirituality practices on others. There community guidelines include, “avoid speaking in a language we cannot understand” and “avoid of putting on socks before we finish saying shanti”. When I requested a refund due to their mediocre service and their discriminatory ways they responded that they were unable to issue me the refund after they had blatantly said on a previous email the day prior that they were “happy to assist with that”. Horrible service. Avoid at all costs.

I am new to yoga and I’ve been so happy with 3S! I love the clean open studio. The teachers are amazing. 3S is more than a studio it’s a community. I love that they have sip and sweat Tuesdays where after yoga we meet at uniform market for special happy hour prices just for 3S students. Such a great idea! Nadeya the owner always comes too. This is my favorite studio I have ever been to. They have a range of different classes but all of them have been for all levels which is great for me. My favorite instructors are Carly (Monday/Tuesday classes which the Tuesday is like a HITT workout it’s amazing) and Jess’ class on Thursday nights and Friday mornings (a bonus was the cold lavender towels after class! I don’t think it’s every time so you gotta keep going to find em’). The only downside is everyone is finding this gem of a place so sometimes it can get a little crowded but worth every penny!!! Oh also I went to Joy’s class for new years and it was amazing. I love the instructors and the community!!

I'm a board. Yes, I'm as stiff as a piece of wood. As I "matured" this was becoming a problem. I needed help. I signed up, took the classes and now I'm more flexible. But let's just say, I'm still a work in progress. Although I am definitely much more flexible than I was six months ago. I love my yoga classes and all the instructors are WONDERFUL. They are patient and sweet. When the poses gets too flexible for a board like me, I sink into a child's pose -- and there "ain't no shame" in it. Love the classes, love the instructors and love the room!

I’m a regular at 3S’s “beer yoga” at Hardywood (scott’s addition) on Sundays. I can’t think of a better way to start my Sunday than with a welcoming community of friends enjoying yoga, good vibes and a beer at the end (if desired)! The usual teacher is Nadeya, who is the owner of 3S and the most unique, fun and creative yoga teacher I’ve ever experienced -no two yoga sessions are ever the same and you will always leave more grateful and relaxed than when you came!

Try it. You’ll be glad you did. I was so pleased to find a great yoga studio nearby when I moved to the area 18 months ago. I have had a great time with so many of the instructors. I greatly appreciate the owner, Nadeya, for approaching her classes with insight and humor and for genuinely caring about each person that comes through the door. And who knew you could turn a yoga practice into a HIIT workout? She did. It’s fantastic.

I came to 3S Yoga in April, thirty pounds overweight and approaching seventy years old. Now I'm thirty pounds lighter and as strong as I've ever been, more flexible than I've been in ten years, and probably more settled and balanced, too. I have enjoyed every class I've taken, usually 3-5 per week. I am taken with the personal warmth and kindness of the instructors, and especially of the owner, Nadeya Ward, who sets the caring and nurturing tone for the school. .

Being new to Richmond I decided to try yoga at Stone Brewery with Nadeya and 3S on Sundays. Within the first week I was absolutely hooked - I never knew yoga could be so fun and challenging at the same time. You get a heart-warming cardio work-out in the beginning of the class and really deep stretches towards the end - it's a perfect combo along with some laughs. I've also attended one of her HIIT classes and it was the best workout I've had in a long time. So grateful to have found 3S and the strong sense of community that all the students bring.

I’ve done yoga off and on over the years at studios and gyms in Philly, DC and now Richmond. 3s yoga is one of the best groups I’ve ever practiced with.
