Tammy is a great instructor. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every class, and she’s always ready to help by offering clear guidance and thoughtful adjustments. Whether it’s correcting form or suggesting modifications to fit different abilities, she makes sure everyone feels confident and supported throughout the workout.
The classes at 540 Fitness are always inclusive to every skill level, with exercises carefully designed so that beginners and more advanced members can all participate fully without feeling left behind. The energy in the room is something special. Everyone is genuinely rooting for each other, creating a strong sense of community that makes each session motivating and enjoyable. You can feel the encouragement in the air, which pushes you to keep going even when the exercises get tough.
It’s a great environment that balances challenge and support perfectly. I’m glad I chose to become a part of 540 Fitness, and I’m excited to see my own personal growth as well as everyone else’s accomplishments. Being here feels like more than just working out, it’s about being part of a team that celebrates progress together.

Facility - First impression as a new comer was great. Was welcomed and staff immediately greeted us when we walked in. Check-in process easy and facility was very clean. Mats were clean and weights and equipment organized.
Time management - Attended the 9am class and started exactly at 9 and ended right at 10. Coach Tammy did a great job with warm up, briefing of the workout, and getting members set up.
Coaching- Coach Tammy had great command presence. She was able to take a technical movement and simplify it to the ability of the athlete. She had very good time management, verbal cues, and was very engaging. Refreshing to get solid coaching and not have someone just tracking the time. Coach Tammy seems to be very knowledgeable and experienced in coaching.
Vibe - overall a great vibe for a gym. Members were very welcoming and everyone was encouraging.

I had a few sessions with Tammy. She’s positive and a great motivator. She met me where I am at and encouraged me through everything we did. I really enjoyed her enthusiasm and look forward to classes with her. I also really enjoyed how caring all the staff and the warm welcome I received. It’s never easy walking into a gym but it was at this gym.

Don't get Jerod as coach in PM, although he's always around. Today was a good surprise. Jerod does a great job of balancing fun with the work. Always giving technical tips, and then applauding the athletes adjustment to the tip. Constantly walking the room with encouragement and tips.
And name the song and artist is always a welcome bonus.

Today was an introductory class for me. Having been out of the intense workout game for quite some time, I was intimidated to walk into a hardcore gym. Any reluctance or nerves quickly dissipated when I started getting fist bumps and warm welcomes. I could not have imagined a more welcoming and supportive place, and I knew within minutes I was hooked to both the workouts and the incredible team atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back!

Jerod did a great job coaching a big 6Am class today. He is so knowledgeable and knows exactly what cues and encouragement to give everyone. He finds a way to give feedback all around even with a packed class. It is a great atmosphere and every has a good time while getting in their fitness!

Here is my experience at tonight's 5pm class with Coach Holly. I walk in through those double doors and am greeted by fellow athletes and coaches with smiles on their faces and warm welcome. It was awesome to see some old faces returning back to 540 fitness from their short hiatus finishing up their workout from the 4pm class with Coach Jess.
Coach Holly taught the 5pm class and I always enjoy her personality and unique touch and energy. She is walking the floor, cheering on our efforts, and providing timely and insightful tips with our technique to better ourselves even that 1% than yesterday. The community picked each other up by cheering and encouraging the 5pm athletes to finish the workout before the 15 minute time cap.
Please if you're still on the fence after reading the countless reviews of how 540 Fitness has each changed our lives for the better; just make an appointment with the coaches or reach out to me or the athletes on the roster. Every story will be uniquely different, but it will all be centered around 540 Fitness becoming a home away from home where you can be yourselves at the same time making lifestyle decisions for betterment of fitness and health including nutrition.

I am new the 540 fitness and on day one I was immediately welcomed by a warm and supportive community! The facility is spacious with plenty of equipment. Holly is always motivating and gives us a ton of scaling options for the movements we are programmed (if needed). She demonstrates each movement and makes sure we “get it” before proceeding. She cheers us on before, during, and after class. She is a wonderful coach and a very special person.

Jess was very fun and encouraging. She checked in on me several times throughout the workout and gave me pointers on form. She took the time to talk to me after the workout, and made me feel very welcome. I came for Free Class Friday and would definitely like to come back again.

I had an great experience at this gym! I normally get a little intimidated when I go to a gym for the first time but I found 540 to be motivating, supportive, and full of positive energy. The facility is clean, well-equipped, and has everything you need for a great workout.

I love everything about this gym!! From the minute you walk in, there’s a sign that says “you don’t HAVE to, you GET to”, which just sets the tone for the mindset you should have throughout the workout. Each coach is different but amazing in their own way. Jess is hysterical and always makes you laugh even when the workout makes you want to die; Jerod is SO knowledgeable and it’s an honor to be an athlete of his; Emmett is super chill and always so helpful; Julia is so attentive and so supportive and is always happy to help and give advice; Phoebe is so sweet and fun; Carina is always so happy and encouraging; Holly is super personable and always smiling; and Tammy is always having fun but pushing you to work hard. All the coaches are SO knowledgeable and will make your day every time you go. I never worry about who the coach is because I know I can trust them to help me and encourage me. The members of this gym are next level, too. I’ve never met such supportive people. Everyone is there to be the best and healthiest version of themselves, but support everyone else on their journey as well. I could come into this gym not wanting to work out, in a bad mood, too focused on what’s going on outside of the gym, or whatever else, but I ALWAYS leave in a better mood. This place not only makes my mental and physical health so much better, but it’s a community that makes you feel so loved and seen and cared for.

I've been to several CrossFit gyms, but this one feels like home — and a big part of that is Coach Tammy. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what she does, but she also has a way of making every athlete feel seen and supported. Whether you're brand new or experienced, she meets you where you are and helps you grow stronger — physically and mentally.
The programming is always challenging and fun, with plenty of variety to keep you engaged. The community here is amazing too — positive, welcoming, and full of people who cheer each other on.
Coach Tammy creates an environment where you want to show up, push hard, and keep coming back. I can’t recommend this gym enough!

Great gym with great coaches. My skills and strength have really grown since training at 540. The programming doesn’t overly favor one discipline over another, but rather encompasses all the pillars of good fitness (strength, gymnastics, cardiovascular, etc.).
I struggle with stringing double unders together, but during yesterday’s class coach Julia gave me some on-the-fly tips which made a big difference. Realtime feedback from a coach like this is so common at 540 and is critical when trying to learn or advance a skill.

If going to the gym makes you nervous or you simply don’t know where to start 540 fitness is the perfect place to get started with your fitness journey!! 540 Fitness is such a gem of a gym & community.
My fitness journey came to an end about 8 years ago. Between my job, starting a farm & having two beautiful children I just didn’t have it in me to do regular programmed exercise.
March of 2024 I had the opportunity to join 540 Fitness. I was 5 months postpartum. Every single staff member and member has been nothing but welcoming since I’ve started.
I’ve appreciated the scalability of the workouts, not feeling pressured to do movements I was confident in, but challenged to push myself each week.
I love the diversity in the programming. I get to work on lifts I haven’t done in 8 years & I’m starting to lifts weights I never thought I’d touch again. I’m also challenged to do movements that aren’t my strong suit.
I’m getting back to the roots of what started my husband and I’s journey to start our own farm in the first place. Which is extremely special. Jerod & Jess clearly have a passion for this. It speaks volumes in their day-to-day interactions with their staff and members.

Are you someone who’s returning to functional fitness after a few year hiatus? Or maybe you find yourself not enthusiastic about going to a standard gym? I cannot recommend 540 fitness enough! I’ve spent the last year wondering around a standard gym, scrolling the internet for work out plans, just to be disappointed. Of course I was nervous and scared to go back to a functional gym with group classes. Jess made me feel so welcomed and honestly reignited my passion for fitness! The classes offer so many modifications for any level of fitness and/or comfort level. The members were so kind, welcoming, and encouraging! That’s something I’ve never experienced in a standard gym! 540 goes beyond “clock in for and hour and leave”. The coaches and members want others to succeed but in my opinion, more importantly, have fun and a sense of community! I can’t recommend 540 enough!

I dropped in today for class. The gym was easy to find, located a few turns off 81. The space was open and clean. I was greeted when I walked in the door and set up for the workout. I enjoyed Jerod’s coaching. He led the class through a thorough warm up to make sure we were ready for the WOD. He also worked well with the large number of athletes. Members were friendly and inviting. I’ll be back for another class.

Jess creates a fun and energetic vibe during the work out coupled with a deep knowledge of the proper mechanics of the various exercises. Sometimes the difference between doing a movement correctly or incorrectly can be very subtle and she is adept at pointing that out. She has improved the efficiency of my work outs and has made me understand the pacing much better.
An added bonus is that she may show you an awesome dance move during the work out.

Attended a 540 Fitness "Foundations" class as a trial. Despite walking into a fitness class for the first time in years, I immediately felt supported, encouraged, and staff ensured I was performing moves safely. I was buddied up with another member, which was a nice touch. The class was fun and engaging, and I loved that there were people of all shapes and sizes. I immediately knew I wanted to join after that one class. I love being at a place that doesn't force you to be something you're not - you go at your own pace and build up strength and endurance over time. Great experience and highly recommended!

Love this place, but today I decided I wanted to come in and do my own thing at my own pace and Coach Emmett took a little time and helped me develop a little workout suitable for the intensity level I was looking for. He didn’t have to do it, he just did it.. Thankful for that! Ended up being a workout targeting some of the movements in the regular workout but again at the pace I desired for the day.

I've known Gerod for a few years, won't say personally though. Anyone in the CrossFit that knows of him only has positive and great things to say about him. His programming is second to none, his love of fitness in general shows day in and day out with his enthusiasm and general care for anyone he helps. I've been going for about 8 weeks and I already see and feel results. The whole staff at 540 Fitness is awesome, the people that go are awesome as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. You won't be disappointed if you want to get in better shape, make new friends and have a good time doing it.
