Pros.
Some teachers seem to care. They show a lot of passion for the craft and are skillful. The shows were really well done.
Cons.
The whole school is set up as a farm for the dance team. If your kid is not on the dance team, donβt expect much more then what is in the classes. When I asked how to help my child improve, and what should we be working on I was told βto look up YouTube videosβ.
Not allowed to watch classes. Makes it so you canβt help your child outside of class.
My kid was tripped and stepped on during class several times. Teacher said they didnβt see anything in a class with 5 kids and 2 teachers.
I never signed any kind of waiver for any kind of video or pictures in class. Teacherβs aid was taking videos of the kids and showing them to her friends at school. When I asked the owner about this I was assured that videos were not ok and that she would handle it. It happened several more times. When I asked the owner about it the story changed to we do it so the kids can see what theyβre doing wrong. I guess the walls of mirrors are not enough. Then I was told the video was for a βprogress reportβ I never got.
Between costume and tickets I spent close to $300 per show just to see my kid on stage for 3 mins. For the other 2 HOURS my kid is sitting back stage somewhere just waiting.
They donβt seem to learn a real techniques. They are just practicing their 3 min dance for the next recital.
Iβm happy to say we are at a smaller school with more personalized teaching. The parents are allowed to see the kids practice. I can see my childβs routine and help with home practices. Gladly traded in the whole production for a 30 min recital.

This is my current dance studio and it is amazing. The staff is nice. It is pretty pricey though.

My daughter has been with Academy of Dance for three years now. She loves it and enjoy the friends she has made. Academy of Dance is very convenient and it is not not over crowded. The studio provides a great learning environment for my child. The end of year shows are awesome!

My daughter has been attending gymnastics at this location for a few months now. She loves it and looks forward to coming every week. The staff are all awesome and the kids love them. I would definitely recommend bringing your children here.

Weβre new to the area but my daughter is totally in her element with the Academy of Dance! The instructors are so personable and she fit right in with the other children. Very happy with our new Dance/Gymnastics Family!

It's a shame when you pay so much money for the dance lessons, outfits etc. Then go to the Christmas show to see your child, pay for THAT too and when your child comes out to dance, she's completely hidden behind teenagers. WHY would they have tiny little kids dancing behind bigger teens? I get that the teens know the routine etc, but do you think anyone really cares if a little child is not perfect? That's what makes the shows so good is seeing the progress, and the teens would have been seen either way. What a waste!

I was a student at this location 25 years ago and now my 8yo daughter is taking ballet at the same location. She is having a blast and loves it! 10/10 recommended π

They have their stars that they promote and thats all you see in the show, people go to watch their little ones to find a 5.8 tall young lady dancing IN FRONT OF 5 AND 6 YEARS OLD so good luck watching your kid or even seeing them on the recording that you pay handsomely for.
You have to know someone to get you good seats for the show .
The best part is that my kids told me later on that they got picked on and called names on their first class and they were not the only ones'

Outdated, small small small space, teachers are heard outside if the door yelling at the students whose parents were not in the waiting area. Unprofessional all around. Not learning true techniques, just how to put on a big show. Not worth the time or the money.

My daughter took dance there for two years and I was so glad to move! A) The building needs a major overhaul. It's sad really because it has some of the biggest studios in town. B) it's expensive especially for what you get. C) the technique taught isn't that great. After we left my daughter progressed really quickly. Now, she's on track to be a trainee of a real company some day. That never would have happened if we had stayed.

I loved it. I been dancing there since I was 5 years old and started doing competition dances at 12 years old, I love being challenged and it taught me everything about life itself and how to conduct myself. I've been an AOD member for 15 years and it has been my passion ever since and my plan was to take that experience to the next level. I have and always will be an AOD family, and being at the dance studio is like my second home.

My daughter has been taking dance classes here for several months and absolutely loves it. As the previous reviewer said the studio is small and is in need of updating, however the prices are reasonable and the staff is very attentive and appears to genuinely care about the children. This studio has a reputation for first class performances.
