After 4 months of training with Andrew, my athletic performance has improved significantly. Andrew's approach is very unique from strength and conditioning programs that I have used in the past, and in my opinion more effective. Specifically, my goals centered around golf and overall health. Prior to training with Andrew, I was a mid-single digit handicap. Since starting his program, I've noticed considerable improvements in strength, rotational speed, balance, and consistency (and thus score). These improvements were also able to happen at a lower body weight. Rather than providing workouts, his approach is much more centered around finding/addressing/improving weak points to unlock performance.

Andrew noticed me laboring over the rowing machine at Gold’s and came over to ask if I wanted a couple of tips to improve my form. His suggestions were spot on and improved my workout 100%. He clearly knows his stuff, plus he’s easy to talk to and a really good guy. If I were looking for a personal trainer, I would look no further.

Andrew offers a dynamic approach to health incorporating all aspects of daily living— not just body movement, but nutrition, hydration, and also oft-forgot things like joy and well-being. I am learning how to heal my body/mind/soul in all ways that will eventually carve out the best version of me… and also hopefully, one day, some abs! Andrew’s approach is one of gentle teaching, reflective questioning and accountability. He meets you where you’re at and provides insight into balancing different parts of life, rather than solely focusing on working out, which is ultimately the best for long-term goals.

Andrew is the best personal trainer that I have come across in Richmond, VA. What makes him stand out from other trainers that I have worked with is that he took into account my goals, my equipment, the time that I had allotted to exercise and formulated a personal plan that I can do ON MY OWN. He didn't make me reliant upon him. He taught me how to train which is exactly what I was looking for. I have recommended him to a few folks already and will continue to do so.

I have been working with Andrew Duffy for about 8 months now and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a personal trainer in Richmond. I think what makes Andrew stand out is both his advanced knowledge of the subject matter and calm confidence when training/teaching.
I knew I needed some kind of fitness routine but was intimidated by gyms and didn’t know how to get started. Since working with Andrew I’ve gained physical strength, and also made progress with balance and endurance. In addition to training at the gym, he takes into account other things that effect health and energy levels like sleep and diet, and helps guide those in the right direction. With his skills and experience, I think Andrew would bring value to anyone looking for improvement in health/fitness, regardless of where they start or what their goals may be.

I hired Andrew as my personal trainer 7 months ago and have been very pleased with the results. Andrew has helped me drastically improve flexibility in my shoulders and my hips / legs, while building muscle.I can now enjoy many outdoor activities (e.g. kayaking) without excruciating pain! Just relocated back to Virginia, but new to the Richmond area. I've been a fairly active person most of my life, however, with a trainer , I find I'm having more personal success in reaching my fitness and health goals. Okay, this dude is great! I met Andrew through my colleague as a way to develop a professional networking relationship. Along the way he offered to give me some personal training and coaching on the pain I have been dealing with in my low back for years. Over the course of a couple months and by exploring some of the movement patterns and imbalances I displayed, Andrew was able to give me tips and movement tools that I use regularly to help my pain. His sessions are focused on learning more about ME and the specific pain and challenges I wish to overcome. He is a great listener and only after getting a complete picture of where I’m at will he offer movement techniques. He’s kinda like a movement guru. We have maintained a professional relationship ever since and I still ask his advice from time to time. Oh and as for my pain; I’m now in a place where I barely feel it most days and when I do, I have the tools and confidence to move it away. Get in touch with Andrew, you won’t regret it.
