I train at Anytime Fitness in Blacksburg with Brad. He is very good at what he does. I haven't really lifted weights in 20 years prior to joining. He has shown me many different exercises, the correct way to use/do them so you won't get hurt and put together a plan to help me get stronger and not injured. I am primarily a distance runner so the weights have definitely been neglected over the years. He's made it fun and more so gives accountability and variations in the workouts. Brad is very personable and a great trainer that knows when to push you and when to back off. I highly recommend him.

Brad and his staff are absolutely amazing. I work in Bluefield, Virginia and sometimes I use the Anytime Fitness there but 80% of the time I drive to blacksburg, from Pembroke to get my workout in. I’ve been training with Jessica for about a year now and she’s been awesome to work with! The gym itself is consistently clean, has several machines, and literally everything you could ask for. I have noticed myself feeling and looking a lot better after starting here. Personally, I think the yellow kettlebells are probably my favorite, as they make me feel like SpongeBob after the anchor arms episode. Great gym and 10/10 recommend!

I initially joined Anytime Fitness after qualifying for Medicare's Silver Sneakers program in January. It has been nice to see other seniors using the facility, and I like the way the various machines and weights are organized by theme, for example, strength, cardio, etc. For me, the most beneficial aspect of working out at AF has been hiring a personal trainer to not only get guidance on the right techniques but also avoid injuring myself. Thomas is awesome! He's reliable, knowledgeable, and personable which motivates me to follow through on realistic goals for fitness and nutrition.

We got a membership for one month and we stopped going and the membership continued even though it was suppose to only be one month so in the end we spend more then 500 bucks on nothing. When we went to cancel it they told us that we still had to do 2 other payements so they are liars and we lost à lot of money, I do not recommandé this enterprise.

I've had a great experience with my trainers; they really get to know you and create personalized plans that work for your needs and interests (sometimes they get excited with their creativity and we do cardio in the parking lot, but that makes it fun, unique, and unlike other training programs I've been a part of before). They also have facilities that are lacking at other gyms (like free weight rooms, and a belt squat machine). The environment is great, wonderful sense of community, and the space is kept consistently clean. 10/10 would recommend.

It's too crowded and overpriced. I've been a member since January, but I'm surprised to see that it's even more crowded than the Mccomas gym. I have to be careful not to bump into someone while I'm here. The experience is terrible, and I haven't even mentioned that they only offer cloth and detergent for cleaning up. Gosh I feel so proud of myself saving trees by going to this gym.

Good size and good equipment. Solid half-racks and two --TWO-- DEADLIFT PLATFORMS. I had such hopes for this place!

And then, Deadlift warm-ups nearly finished, I see it... The Deal-Breaker. The thing that turns an otherwise Good Place into a country-club. A No Chalk Rule. All stars lost because of a weak-minded policy choice.

This is not a place where you can do mighty things. This is a place to play, to socialize. Anytime Fitness, as a whole is NOT like this. This is a local choice. I will drive down the road to another location that I know of better. I will get my Deadlifts done today. And they will be mighty...despite the lazy-thinking of a few.

If you are a beginner or have had a setback in your physical fitness, Bburg Anytime Fitness is great. I chose a training package along with membership and could not be more pleased. I communicated my limits and needs for modifications, and the team was able to help me build strength, balance, and stamina in surprisingly short order. The gym is not intimidating -- everyone who works out there has been kind and polite. People of all ages and genders work out there. The staff clearly enjoy their work, their clients, and each other. I've worked out at numerous gyms over the last ten years and this one is by far my favorite. All of the equipment is clean and taken care of. The staff is always friendly and makes an attempt to know you and ask if there is any equipment that might be a good addition to the gym. I signed up to their training program and it's phenomenal. My trainer is Carter and my girlfriend sees him as well. He designs personal workouts for both of us and our styles and body types are completely different. We both have seen immediate and very noticeable results in just slightly over two months. It has definitely taken my training and health to a new level. The bathrooms are always clean and we'll kept. The gym itself is open 24/7 as stated and even when I have to wait to use a machine or bench the other members are friendly. All of the employees are up beat and positive and will be encouraging while walking around. I would highly recommend this gym to everyone I talk to in the area.

Be VERY careful with the financial practices at this gym. I have filed a complaint with my credit card company regarding ATF's charges.

ATF locked the doors during COVID without any communication. Then, when they were ready to resume operations, they began charging membership fees again without any communication. So I went for several months without knowing they were even open but getting membership charges.

I called in Feb. 2021 to request they suspend fees and describe their COVID policy so that I could decide whether to rejoin. ATF said that they would do so and send an email. Never heard from them - except that they kept charging to my credit card.

Now they refuse to make any adjustments. Members beware!

This gym is pretty solid for working out but its a bit too popular, its always packed when I come here and I struggle to get on the equipment that I want to.
I also see less masks being used than I want to. I understand things like tread mills or ellipticals since the establishment has made efforts to require people to social distance when they use them, but people tend to not wear masks and get too close to you when you're trying to work out
