Edit: Well, here I am approaching my 4 year anniversary with Anytime Fitness Front Royal. So far, I've outlasted 6 (now on lucky 7) General/Site Managers and 6 (also now with lucky 7) Personal Trainers..... I joined in January of 2022, exactly one week before my 68th birthday.

All joking aside, I truly believe this was one of the BEST decisions I've made in my life. Not only do I feel better but I get compliments from friends and family members on how much healthier I look. I credit that to the outstanding guidance (and challenges) of the outstanding Coaches/Trainers I've worked with .. Also, I love that this is a smaller gym. It has all the bells and whistles (machines, weights, etc) BUT, it's small enough that we get to know each other .. not just the staff but also the incredible members that are always willing to provide support and encouragement. I gave it a 5 star rating in 2022 and doing so again today!! Kudos to Shelly Marie, Shawn, and Kieran for a job well done!!!!

The gym is clean, well organized, and the staff is amazing...I've worked with three of the four trainers (only because I refuse to get up early enough for the 7am class). I’ve been coming to this gym for four years now and I would be the first to say that the place isn’t a total dump. There have been issues in the past with keeping the bathrooms clean and getting equipment repaired/replaced in a timely manner, but neither of the two has been as much of an issue as of late. My primary concern is the fact that the air conditioning has not been functional for the better part of two months now, which is the same exact problem we ran into just last summer. I have no idea what to do at this point; several customers have asked about the issue on multiple occasions and no updates have been provided whatsoever. This is not a cheap membership and on top of being charged fifty dollars per month, we have an extra sixty dollars pulled from our account each year for “club enhancement,” which is funny to say the least. I’m not trying to place blame on anyone because I genuinely do not know whose responsibility it is to get this fixed. I just want to throw it out there that this has several members considering a change of scenery, including myself.

First time here, in town for work. I arrived at 7:30 PM and there was nobody at the front desk to greet or assist. The doors were locked, and I had to wait until a guest was leaving to even get in. If I could give zero stars I would!!! The biggest scam there is, this place will literally NOT let you cancel your membership!! Who pays weekly? You will here and not be told about it!! The worst equipment and barely any treadmills available not to mention no matter what time you go during the day they’re always filled and no one will give one up, I’ve even waited over two hours for one to open and people just stay on them. TERRIBLE GYM. Without a doubt the absolute worst gym experience I’ve ever had. It’s overpriced And god forbid you miss a payment they slap you with so many late fees your total practically doubles to the point it’s uncontrollable on top of that they harass you constantly even if you’re a day behind they call and text relentlessly. Brett Mitkiff, the manager makes my day every time I walk into the gym. He constantly welcomes me to the gym and doing so makes my day.

I personally feel welcome at the gym and because of the friendly and caring atmosphere set, the ambiance overall is excellent. I've connected with other customers and trainers in a positive way. Recently I've had questionson how to do an exercise. The trainers enthusiasticly showed me how to use the equipment in question.

Wonderfully inspiring staff and very tidy/clean facility. I’m a 25-year-old female and I was very nervous about joining a gym for the first time (also worried about wasting my money). After speaking with Larry and Brett I was given the first boost of confidence to join, and their kindness inspired me to keep coming in. They really care about your mental wellbeing as well as getting you in the door as often possible to meet YOUR goals. Cris is a wonderful trainer, and although I didn’t sign up for personal training the trainers still offer you pointers for a better workout. Never thought I’d enjoy going to the gym but it’s quite literally what’s getting me out of this mental rut I’ve been in the past 5 years. After joining this gym last year, 2 managers have come and gone. As well as 2 fitness directors who oversee physical training. You never know what will happen next with this location, if there will be cleaning wipes avaliable, if there will be clean toilets or overflowing trash in the bathrooms. I have been trying to reach management for 2 weeks with no luck, so don't expect and resolutions when you have issues.

All in all, a let down when you are paying at least 50 bucks a month. Having a dirty gym with no resources is a complete abuse of my money. Not to mention the ac breaking and not getting fixed for several months. Who wants to workout in a hot gym??

3/20 Update:
The gym has cleaned up a bit more which I’m very happy to see. As well as some equipment has been fixed! I hope to see this being a consistent within the gym and for more equipment to be better maintained as we continue here.

I’ve been going to this gym for 6 years now. I go to this gym for the convenience that it is 2 minutes from my home and with my schedule, it’s easier to do a two minute drive than to go across town. After 6 yearys, I am disgusted with the lack of respect, cleanliness, and accountability this gym has. The gym is disgustingly dirty. I picked dust bunnies off of my weights today. This isn’t a first time occurrence. The owner ordered a much needed new cable set and I don’t even think it’s a year old & it is already broken. I understand he has no control of what his members do to his equipment when he isn’t here but out of respect & the fact I am paying a service fee every year to make this gym a better gym, he absolutely should be checking the cameras to see who is breaking these peices of equipment. This cable machine has been broken three times now & it’s not the only thing broken or has been broken. The respect the owner has for his members is non existent because if it was, I wouldn’t be writing this review and instead I’d say it to the owner but apparently he is non existent too. Now I have brought my concerns to the employees here but the response is the same every time, “I’ll tell the owner”. Months later, no change or follow up. But he will give all of our money to his other gyms.

It's pretty simple. You need to work out here. You can go anytime. It's always clean, the equipment works, the members are full of life and your help is much appreciated whenever we need it. I am on a weight loss journey and decided to look around for a gym that I can join but wasn't trying to agree to a long term commitment if I only go once or twice a month or even a year. I travel a lot all over my state, so if I commit to a gym it has to be in several locations that I work in. I decided to come to AF to see what kinda memberships they have .When I got there I was greeted by Tanner he was very insightful and answered every question and concerns I had,he even let me workout today to see how I like it and I will say this for the short time I was there I saw that they had a great staff. I hope my local AF has the same courtesy that Tanner and the staff here in the Front Royal branch do. If that's the case I will definitely be joining AF and looking forward to getting back to this location.

Very unprofessional training staff (foul language, inappropriate talk) and also moved out of the area, an hour away and was told that I couldn’t cancel by email that I would have to drive to location to cancel. The staff was very unwilling to work with me on this and refused to even try and accommodate. Terrible experience. Then had the nerve to charge me an extra month after I cancelled due to not being able to drive the hour to the location within payment period, even though they knew the actual date I first tried to cancel. Then comedically asked me to refer them to other people in the area which I would absolutely never do.

Horrible experience and a very DESPERATE company. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

My husband and I visited this Anytime Fitness on one of our Road trips. We were greeted by Maggie who welcomed us to the facility. We are fellow Coaches and Trainers and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The gym was well organized, clean, and very efficient with the space they offer.
