It used to be a good place but not anymore. Cancelling classes without notice, not responding to emails, no acknowledgement when entering the center. New stuffs every time we attend classes. Not willing to give out information when asked about classes that are being promoted on their websites such as some programs that are provided during summer time.

This Saturday, we were running a few minutes late to group swim lesson class for my child. No staff was around at the front-desk or outside of the pool to take my child to their class. Eventually, I walked my child in to the pool area. My child only got a 10-12 min class due to this reason.
I requested the front desk when the staff came back, to issue a make-up and they stated they could unless my child was pulled out of class. At this point, I could pull a wet child out of class after like 5-6 min. It is super confusing for my child.
Staff needs to be available. I get it is busy, but they need to be available or find a better way to streamline.

We had a great experience while we were actually enrolled at Aqua-Tots, however, I put in our notice of withdrawing from the school at the beginning of March due to moving out of the area. I was billed for April, and inquired on our last swim class day about this, as our last class per the notice was 2 days past the billing date. They confirmed they had our notice, that it was received on March 9, and was told the withdrawal would be entered by the end of the week, and I would be refunded. I got a class reminder the following week, and called about our withdrawal and refund. I was told again that they had put notice and it would be done by end of week. Then came Easter, with no classes, but I glut a notification that my class was cancelled and a makeup was added to my account. I got another call about my class for this weekend being cancelled due to no instructor, and again told them that we moved, we withdrew from the class a month ago, and we are still waiting for the refunded billing. At this point, I am a few days away from being billed for another month for a service I CANNOT use because I don’t live there anymore. I am usually a pretty easy going person, but this is ridiculous.

Great swimming club! The coaches are patient, skilled, and great with kids. My child has improved so much in both confidence and technique. The environment is friendly and encouraging, making learning fun. Highly recommend!

We are happy to have coach Aliyah to train our son, Samar. Her proficiency in swimming techniques, training methods are very impressive. She explains concepts in a simple and engaging manner as well as provides clear, constructive feedback. She helps build confidence in hesitant or struggling swimmers. She also adjusts training methods based on each swimmer’s abilities.

The coaches change frequently, and classes are cancelled without notice. You are not allowed to make up for all the cancelled classes within a week. They simply complete the classes according to their own list, instead of allowing each child to advance according to their actual learning ability and progress. They try to keep your child in the same level as long as possible. It feels like all the starting points are to make more money!

Normally pretty good but we have noticed a lot more turnover. For the last few weeks, they haven’t had the heat on, it’s super cold. Every time we ask them about it, it’s the generic “we’re working on getting the heat up”

I recently enrolled my child at this location. From day 1, the staff and instructors have been wonderful. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and helpful in making sure that we were able to schedule our permanent classes along with any make up classes that we need. I LOVE the fact that the instructors provide you with immediate feedback regarding the progress of your child. The app is great in that you are able to view progress, schedule classes and see the instructor for the class.

Our 2 kids have been taking swimming lessons here and it is a fantastic experience for them and for us parents. The teachers are very engaging and really know how to keep the kids focused on learning but also having fun. They are even able to handle the occasional meltdown with grace and can get the kid into the lesson amazingly quickly. We would highly recommend Aqua-Tots to our friends and neighbors!

Our 5 yr old daughter attends classes on Fridays. Which means she asks every other day "When will it be swim Friday again?" Instructors are great, tons of times to chose from. Been very happy with the progress of our daughter!

Amazing Place! My kids love going to their classes and they look forward to it every week. All the instructors are really great and they all have great skill sets which helps kids to learn a lot. They personally focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each kid during the sessions and help them to learn in such a way that makes the learning process a great experience for children. My kids feel welcome and don't fear the water anymore :) They constantly try to improvise the place and the process which makes it different from other places.

We are very unhappy with the way of teaching at Aqua-tots. My 5 year old is at level 4 for more than 1 year and 8 months. She is getting frustrated about what the instructors are teaching her. They are teaching same thing every week since many months. There is no progress at all. The instructors keep changing every month and sometimes every week too. The new instructors are just going blindly with the books. There is no proper interaction with the kids and instructors. My kid lost hope to learn swimming. There is no encouragement for kids at this place. The progress is never updated at all. When I told them to update the progress, they keep updating same thing that was completed months ago. My daughter is telling that there is nothing to learn at swimming at this place because they are teaching same thing every week and she is not interested to go to the swimming class.

They keep changing the coaches very frequently! The coaches barely check the progress and you would waste months with little to no progress for your kid because the coaches treat all the 4 kids in a lesson to be at the similar skill level for everything they teach! Coaches rarely check the skills progression before the lessons! People at the reception never do care for the feedback and would fake their understanding and would forget your feedback the moment you leave! 😀

Good:
Teachers are caring and helpful, and are trained to handle toddlers/pre-schools very well
Great for getting kids comfortable in water at early age
Good Makeup policy in general
App is easy to use to cancel classes and schedule make up class
Bad:
- High churn rate for teachers, with new teachers assignment every few months. With every change the progress isn't handled well, and seems like they start back with the basics again. Sometime I had to remind the new teacher, they my son can jump and swim back to the edge already, and don't start the jump basic jump all over again. I am not sure what do they track in the app for progress.
- My son has been going there for more than a year now. Initially I saw progress, but then few months after it slowed down. As the teachers changed, the continuum was lost. I understand that the progress is different for each kid, but I can see it they he does much better in the swimming pool, and with no ratings change for months, something isn't working well.
- With a 30 minute class for 4 kids where class starts 2-3 minutes late, and ends 5 minute early , you get about 20-25 minutes total and essentially close to 5 minutes per kid.

We’ve had a great experience with this program. The manager goes above and beyond to help us problem solve and find the right lesson time and the right instructor for our needs. We’ve had the same instructor for several months now and my daughter loves him. He challenges her but he’s also patient and caring. We get immediate feedback with tips for things to work on, as well as progress updates via the app. Overall, we’re very happy.

I’ve had to amend this review because we’ve had a lot of difficulty over the last few months. Our lessons keep getting cancelled because of staffing issues. My daughter has completed most of the program for her level and needs to replicate a few skills to show she has mastered it. She can’t replicate and earn new stars when her lessons are continually cancelled. She never has the same instructor from week to week.
The manager would not speak with us when we were on site last week, and the manager will not return our calls or our email.
Her feedback is normally everything is awesome. The skills that she needs to master aren’t even reviewed in her lessons.

WASTE of TIME and $$$
In 2 months instructor changed 4 times. None of the instructor stays long enough to know the kids, to challenge them. W/O building any relationship, kids can't progress. Very frustrated with their service.
I wanted to talk to the manager, which of course was not available and the front desk took a note of it saying the manager will call me the next day. 2 days I waited...no call !
I had to call again and manager was still not available
I kept hearing my kids need to practice back float. If that's the case shouldn't the instructor focus more on back float instead of doing the routine thing which kids already can do ???

Fast forward : this place continues to be the most mediocre swimming school with swimming coaches changing every second. They cant reschedule a class they themselves canceled this week Tuesday. It took us a while to find another swim school and i cant be more relieved that we are done with this money making place.
They dont keep transparency with makeup classes and don't seem to honor them as much. It takes forever to get one make up class scheduled. And their schedule application system is messed up. Despite calling front desk every week to schedule a makeup, they confirm on phone but then don't honor it afterwards and say they can't see it on schedule. Even worse, they have no way track how make up fell off the calendar. Messed up system and staff.

I usually don’t give bad reviews to the local businesses but this one earned it. So, I am compelled to give the credit they earned. I cancelled my son’s class a month in advance and they said they will take care of everything and I won’t be billed for the next month. But, the next month they again drew money from my account and when I called to inquire about it. They said about some form that needed to be filled and submitted in order to stop the payments. After few moments of explaining my situation they said they would honor and issue and refund for the extra month. But they didn’t. I waited whole month. To be honest, My son didn’t enjoy the class there and he barely went to total 4 classes. And I was charged for two months.

We have been taking our son here for a little over a year and I absolutely love it. The classes are small and the scheduling is flexible. Our son still screamed like a maniac in the beginning but they were always very patient and go out of their way to make sure we are taken care of. (We were taking him to a local rec center before where he also screamed his head off but the class was so big that the teacher did not have the time or the patience to deal with it)
Through this Aqua Tots we had a much better experience. We actually took him out for a few months and brought him back when they re-opened in (June) once the COVID restrictions were lifted. I personally saw them sanitizing chairs and common areas between parents. I also love that they STILL require temperature checks upon arrival. During the warmer months, they even placed chairs outside for parents to observe their children, if they did not feel comfortable observing their child inside the facility.
Lastly, it seems like management has required that all Instructors wear face shields while in the water with the children. The extra precautionary measures are very reassuring.

Overall, this is a good school. Instructors come & go on a seasonal basis, but almost everyone we worked with has been caring & understanding. Also, they run the operation in a process driven way, so any coach that sees the chart understands what they need to work on. If one instructor leaves, you can try to find a replacement with a similar personality. Shout outs to Shayna (former employee), Coach Olivia & Coach Tabitha (former employees), Coach Christina, & Brian.

Why is this a scam? Everyone I know who joined Aquatots or Goldfish their child learned to swim in about a year. 1 year to learn how to swim??? Ok so I go for a trial which they charged me for. Its about $25 for 30 mins. Sounds cheap. They start exactly on the dot by the time your child settles in its about 5 mins. So its really $25 for 25 mins. Your child has to share the instructor with 3 other kids. Divide 25 by 4, plus the time the instructor needs to explain the drill. Your child only receives about 7 mins max of actual swimming they are sitting waiting for their turn the rest of the time. Its a great scam just like the local tae kwon do schools.

Teachers and curriculum are high quality. My daughter has learned much and gained confidence...despite the very short amount of interaction time with teachers. She's in a 30 minute weekly class with 1 teacher and 4 students, which gives her about 10 minutes of teaching time per week. At $94/month that's about $140/hour. So….not that happy about the hourly cost. Also, while they have a very nice policy of giving you a make-up lesson if you cannot attend your regularly-scheduled lesson (provided you call ahead) they do absolutely NOTHING to help you get that make up lesson scheduled. The burden is 150% on YOU to reschedule and the only way you can do it is to call them (or see them when you're at your next lesson, which means you’ve lost a week or more.) There's no way to do it online. There's no way to leave a voicemail asking for a reschedule. There's no way to get a call back. YOU must call THEM. And did I mention they answered the phone (in my experience) about once every five times I've called? And did I mention they only schedule 7 days in advance? And did I mention the availability of make-up slots every time I’ve tried to reschedule has been 1 class option, typically during the school day when everyone, including my daughter, is in school? And did I mention when they do happen to answer, it’s the front desk personnel on the phone with chaos in the background and multiple interruptions throughout the call? Bottom line, the make-up policy is effectively worthless. I have 4 make-up classes sitting on my account because I cannot get them scheduled.
