I’ve been going to Barre3 Old Town a little over a year, and I feel like I’ve found my fitness home, my happy place. I’ve taken a lot of different workouts around the area, and Barre3 is hands down my favorite. It’s the right mix of fun and challenging. The instructors are supportive and encouraging, and I look forward to going there. I’ve never felt stronger or happier.

Maria is absolutely spectacular. This was my first class and I was super nervous. The class was challenging and moved quickly. The instructor gave phenomenal encouragement throughout the class and was helpful with 1 on 1 assistance. Bless you, Maria.

Special shout out to all the students in class. They were super kind and supportive.

I've been loving the barre classes here at the Old Town studio so much. All the instructors are so kind and I love when they correct my form. The environment is very empowering and up-lifting. The people that workout there are super sweet as well. I love how almost every move has a modification to best serve my body. Love it here! Definitely worth the unlimited monthly pass.

I love this place so much (and am missing it terribly right now during the pandemic!). Yes, barre3 is a great workout--I love that it incorporates a strong cardio component and larger movements in addition to the small ones barre as a discipline is known for. I always leave class drenched! It is also excellent cross training--I'm a runner and have not had any nagging running injuries since starting barre3 18 months ago. And it is strength training and is no joke. A few weeks ago, I was rear ended, and had to go to the ER to get checked for some back pain. The doctor commented on how strong I was and I started babbling about barre3...she probably thought I was crazy...it's fine.

Equally as important to the physical workout, however, is the way barre3's philosophy makes you change the way you look at fitness as a way to be your best self holistically. They emphasize a strong mind-body component, which I've carried over to other aspects of my life and which has helped me deal with stress much better! The instructors also never make you feel bad about taking a modification--they present it as a way to get the workout *your body* needs that day, which is so empowering, especially in a town where we are all type A perfectionists ;) Finally, the community that Meredith and her team have cultivated is just wonderful. In sum, highly recommend barre3!

Barre3 old town.. I don’t even have words to explain how amazing this community is! I started with this community right when they opened simply because I loved barre and it was close to my house. Immediately upon joining this studio I realized it was NOTHING like any barre class or community that I had experienced in the past. Meredith, Lindsay and all of the instructors/staff make you feel so comfortable and welcome to be there. Not only do I take barre classes for physical strength but also (if not more) for mental strength. These ladies, and this entire community have gotten me through so much (pregnancy, post-partum and global pandemic 😫 just to name a few!) I recently broke my foot but still join in on Sunday’s to listen to Lindsay’s breath work to keep me feeling positive and motivated. LOVE this studio! 💕

The Barre3 Old Town staff/community is one of a kind! The workouts are amazing and the instructors are incredibly supportive. Sports were a part of my life through college & afterwards it took me a while to find a workout that had the intensity I was looking for, while also low impact. I haven’t felt this strong since college sports and it’s amazing! I can’t thank Meredith, Lindsay, & the entire B3 Old Town team for all they do for our community.

This studio is the best! I've been coming for 3 years and it never stops challenging me. I love the format of Barre3 classes - and now during quarantine they have a huge variety of online and live classes (10 min, 30, and 40-50 min options). The instructors are all awesome, and Meredith and Lindsay have built a strong community.

barre3 Old Town is an amazing studio! Every time I walk in the door the staff members are all so friendly and professional. The studio is clean, bright, warm, and inviting. The workouts are killer but are also so gentle on my body. My heart rate is sky high during the whole class with the variety of movement and mix of cardio and strength. Yet this energizing total-body workout is always low-impact, which I need given some injuries. There are always multiple layers and modifications that can be taken for any individual. It truly is a workout for everyone!

Led by Meredith and Lindsay, the instructors are all fantastic. They are great motivators and they know how to get the most out of you. There is a real mindfulness component to every class. I've had instructors at other places that have told us to channel our anger and rage into pushing harder. Fortunately that is NOT the philosophy here! At barre3, the motivation is intrinsic, and while workouts are intense, the atmosphere is one of joy, love, and support. They really understand what life and exercise are all about!

They also have a wonderful play lounge for little ones. When I was trying to find a studio a year to join a year and a half ago, childcare was a must. They understand how important it is too. The free lockers and well-stocked showers are also wonderful perks. And I can't forget the awesome music!

I love barre3 old town! I have tried pretty much every barre studio in town and this is by far THE BEST! I have also been to plenty of other barre3 studios (I’m so addicted I try to go even when traveling) and this studio is hands down my favorite. It’s a beautiful, spacious, sun-filled space, the teachers are incredible and play the best music, and I love the play lounge for my daughter so I can workout in peace. They also have super fun retail and frequently run fun events, challenges, and specials. And they have showers, towels, lockers, high-end products- everything you need to get ready for your day.

I discovered Barre3 Old Town three years ago and fell in love with the studio, instructors and work out immediately. I have to admit it was hard in the beginning and there were days I couldn’t even walk up the stairs after working out!! But I have gotten stronger and more fit than I have been since my 20s. The studio is beautiful. It is clean and well staffed. And they have continued to provide workouts online to members during the quarantine.

I started going to Barre3 in December 2017, right after my second child turned one. I'd been struggling for years with chronic back pain and when I walked into Barre3 for the first time, my core was weak, my back hurt all the time, and I had resigned myself to feeling injured, in some way, for the rest of my life. But in the two and a half years that I've been coming to Barre3, I've seen such a huge change in my body, from my posture to my core strength to my overall pain. I am stronger, less prone to injury, and I look forward to each workout. My chiropractor actually asked me what I'd done to remake my posture, and I told him Barre3, and he told me to keep doing it for the rest of my life. :)

The Barre3 workout truly does balance out your body, and I love that it's adaptable to each individual body, each individual day. I was able to do the workout throughout my entire third pregnancy and did not experience any of the back pain and weakness I felt with my second pregnancy (when I was running and swimming and had never heard of Barre3). I also love that the workout includes mindfulness and breath-work. The Barre3 philosophy focuses on strength and adaptability, not bikini bodies or pushing through pain. I love it.

What makes this studio so special, apart from the workout (which is, as I said, is SO GOOD), are the people. Meredith, Lindsay, and all of the instructors are warm, caring, and friendly. From the moment I started coming here, I felt welcomed into a community, and that feeling has only grown stronger over the last 2.5 years. Now that the studio is temporarily closed because of the pandemic, I especially miss seeing familiar faces and receiving hugs and high-fives in the studio. I've never gone to an exercise studio that has felt so welcoming. It's such a great place. Can't wait to go back as soon as we can gather again!

Best boutique fitness studio in Old Town Alexandria! Super clean and well maintained! Space is open, bright, airy! Lots of natural light and windows!

All fitness levels are welcome and challenged! The room is filled with men and women at all phases and stages of life. The community is vibrant and welcoming.

Classes are FIRE! Each class includes strength conditioning, cardio, and target exercises that deeply work key muscle groups. Every sessions closes with breath work and stretching. Every class is different — music and choreography is chosen by individual instructors.

The instructors are positive and encouraging! Real women who support clients every step of the way. The instructors push clients but also manage to empower them to modify or adapt the workout to feel strong in their own bodies and mind.

The owner, Meredith, and manager, Lindsay, are kind, connected and present!

It’s hard to put into words how profoundly barre3, and particularly the fabulous humans at barre3 Old Town have impacted my life. As a professional singer, I have always made fitness, health and overall well-being a part of my routine, but my work with barre3 has helped me take it to the next level. Seven years ago, I suffered a bad back injury which made it difficult to find strenuous exercise that I could tolerate. Thanks to my work with barre3, and with the wonderful instructors at Old Town, I am stronger and fitter than I’ve ever been, my back pain is almost nonexistent, and my singing has reaped the benefits tenfold. I cannot recommend this wonderful studio enough and am so grateful to call the fabulous souls there my friends.

I’ve been taking classes at Barre3 Old Town since 2017 and could not recommend it more highly. The studio is so welcoming and the classes very approachable no matter what kind of shape you’re in, yet offers a challenging full body workout as hard-core as you want to make it. I do a lot of other forms of exercise, but Barre3 is where I find balance - the first thing I do if I’ve been in a total fitness rut and need to just start something again, the classes that made me strong enough to run a half marathon (I didn’t enjoy running at all until my legs were noticeably stronger from months of Barre3), where I could easily modify and still get a good workout a week after carpal tunnel surgery, and now keeping me sane and in great shape with virtual classes during quarantine. I’ve also tried Barre3 studios (and other barre franchises) in many other cities when I’ve traveled, but in my opinion Old Town is by far the best because the instructors are just that great, full of energy and authentic positivity! I’m going to beg them to keep offering virtual classes when I move abroad soon :)

I’ve really enjoyed this studio since I joined 8 months ago. The staff is so welcoming and laidback that members of all ages and sizes feel comfortable and strong. The instructors make a point to meet any new person in their class and to check in with regulars to see if there are any injuries to be aware of, and they always clean in between classes. I like the studio’s challenges - stickers FTW - and how their classes add cardio in as well as body-weight moves. I always feel leaner and stronger after attending class. I’m so happy they continued access to online classes and are doing live classes during the pandemic so studio members could stay fit while forced to be at home. They even loaned me props!

The instructors are wonderful and so down to earth, it is a clean and beautiful studio, and you can literally walk in and everything is provided for you (equipment, towel, lockers, products to freshen up afterwards, showers, etc). The instructors are great in that they work you to your max and make sure that you are getting a great workout without injuring yourself. They take time to get to know you and address you by name when you walk in and during class. They encourage you. There are several options to modify exercises to fit your needs. Up front: I work here as an instructor. I'm purely rating other people's classes that I've taken, not my own ;). I'm a barre convert, and have been primarily using barre as my workout method for 3 years. Barre3 in Old Town is a beautiful, fun, fresh home for people who enjoy fitness and community. The music is great, classes are challenging, and workouts are tailored to each specific person.
