Blackout has been a game changer in my fitness journey - small groups with lot of personal focus targeting muscle building and fat-loss(HIIT etc.). As someone who's been through a number of injuries, their personal focus in both the prescribed exercises and during the sessions really helped with my confidence and in my journey to getting fit and powerful again. Love this place.

I haven't started their programs yet, but from the first impression, it's an awesome place to work out or doing group classes. I've been in many places around, Tysons playground is the most challenging place. I met with Fabienne for 30 mins, you can feel the energy that she has. She was so excited, understanding, and so kind.

"Fabienne takes personal training to its HIGHEST level. Her expertise means you train hard with focus on YOUR goals. Fabienne inspires you with her energy, motivating you to hold nothing back. I found that the other training coaches at Tysons Playground/Blackout DMV echo her approach: they train with Real Care and Discipline. I leave always feeling "done" but eager to return. My muscles are tired, I feel accomplished."

I was skeptical about joining yet another gym as I've been down this road before. I don't know if it's because all my stars were aligned or because of being stuck in the house due to the pandemic - but I was intrigued by the outdoor morning sessions offered at Tyson's playground, as shared by a friend on Facebook. And then coach Fabienne followed up with me, seeing my interest - which was a *sign* that I needed to give it a try! I love the outdoor workouts and have started going to this gym 3 - 4 times a week for their Durability & Blackout classes.

I'm on week 3 of the "Rebuilt" 8-week program and I'm pumped about getting in shape and sticking with it, for the first time ever. This program also includes nutritional advice and a sugar-detox period to help fast-track healthy habits and promote weight loss. Fabienne has been a caring and awesome coach, both in and out of the Blackout/Durability classes, and I truly also look forward to Ken's and Owen's Blackout sessions in spite of them leaving me completely shattered :) It's doing my body good though!

I highly recommend Tyson's Playgound and Fabienne!

Blackout is by far the best workout I've ever done! For lack of better words, you can have your cake and eat it too with the Blackout facility and classes. Don't take that cake comment literally - lol, I'm just saying you can't beat what Blackout has to offer you. Its designed to help all skill levels no matter where you are in your fitness journey. Not only are the workouts challenging and fun, you can't beat that the staff there actually cares about you as a member and wants to see you succeed inside and outside of the gym. Blackout... I'm hooked!!!!

Excellent classes, coaches, and atmosphere. I have tried various classes and workout facilities in this area but nothing compares to this studio and coaches. Ken is one of the best coaches I have worked with. If you are looking for a great workout in a welcoming atmosphere- you just found it. Give it a shot- you won't be disappointed.

Excellent workout! Takes care of cardio and strength training and you work out alongside kind and supportive people. Added bonus of taking out frustrations on punching bag! Instructors continue to teach and correct your form to ensure your actually working the right muscles.

I have been working out for years but something always felt like it was missing. I found the Blackout studio and the rest is history. The coaches, trainers, and fellow blackout members are truly one of a kind. I always feel challenged and supported with every workout. Blackout is THE BEST workout! The workouts are hard, but in a good way and anyone can do them. I've always worked out, but Blackout has made me strong. The instructors care; they take the time to teach and make sure I'm doing the strength training and conditioning correctly. And my 5:15 AM work out buddies are pretty great too! I highly recommend trying a class.

The Blackout classes are hard but, in the best way. I really missed being able to push myself like I did in collegiate sports, I found that intensity here. I also found instructors that care and classes full of people who are a family. I am incredibly grateful for Ken, Ai, John, Shannon, and Fabi.

I really can't say enough about this gym that has kept me motivated for over 8 years! As a former athlete (gymnast), I forgot how much I loved being coached. I went years without stepping foot inside a gym. However, once I found Tysons Playground, I got my groove back. The coaching and instruction, variety of workouts, and the results I've had are fantastic! I'm in my 50's and am stronger and in the best shape physically since my teens. Not only is the gym great for keeping me fit and strong, but it has had an incredible impact on my psychological and emotional well-being. Who needs a therapist when you can punch a bag or move heavy weights around? I can also tailor each and every workout for how I'm feeling that day - drop the weights down or up, punch the bag harder or softer, row more or less crazy, etc. The key is I'm moving each and every time and there are plenty of folks to push me when I need it: the trainer, the other classmates and myself. This gym has been a game-changer for me...and that is no lie. Come see for yourself!

I've been working out at Tysons Playground for seven years now. This is a big deal for me since I've never stuck with any sort of fitness program for more than a year, but Tysons Playground is not only a very solid workout, it is a very solid community. Everyone is very supportive of each other and working out with friends is always better. The Blackout classes are awesome - I know that if I just show up I will get a great workout and that it will be done safely and with proper form. They are very challenging, but also modifiable if you have an injury or are just starting out. I never would have imagined how much I'd enjoy boxing until this class, and who knew that rowing is a full body exercise? I am stronger and fitter than ever, and the workouts are never boring (and I get bored very, very easily)!

This class changed my life. I was shown what a real workout should look like. This class incorporates cardio, strength training, rowing, boxing, HIIT, and many other workouts into one class giving you exposure and instruction on a variety of exercises.
Additionally, the classes facilitate a great community amongst it's participants that gives support to those who need the push to show up week after week. The class also has a personal training feel. The trainers focus heavily on form giving time during each class to teach the proper form. Most classes do not do that. These trainers not only offer advice on form but also diet, supplements, and regularly hold classes on a variety of heath-related topics.
I have searched all over and have not been able to find a class or gym as supportive and life-changing as this class.
