I love Body Arc so much!! I have been training with Victoria there for 2.5 years. She’s an incredible trainer!
The gym itself is a great space with a great variety of machines and equipment for strength training. It’s super welcoming for anyone. I had never regularly worked out or used gym equipment before starting at Body Arc, but I have always felt so comfortable there. Everyone is friendly, and you’ll see people with all different looking bodies, so no one should feel out of place!
P.S. About the person who left a review accusing Victoria of being rude… I was there, and she was super polite about it. They’re just mad someone caught them trying to skip out of a $10 guest fee 🤷

Former member at Body Arc ( I only canceled my membership because I moved one block away from the Cary St gym), and I really enjoyed my time at the gym.
The gym is well maintained and has everything you need for powerlifiting or weight training.
The reason I'm leaving a 3 star review is:
1. The price - I was paying $45/month for the early bird membership, which only gave me access to the gym until 2pm. I'm now paying the same price at the Cary St gym, which is a MUCH larger gym with more equipment and amenities, and I'm able to workout until 10 or 11pm. The price at Body Arc isn't really justified when compared to other gyms in the area.
2. During my last day at the gym, I brought a friend with me to check out the gym. Members are able to bring non-members for free in the morning, but they have to pay a $10 fee for afternoon workouts. The manager, Victoria, came up to my friend and me at exactly 12pm and VERY passive aggressively told me that she was going to be charging me a $10 fee for a day pass. The fee isn't an issue, as I was expecting to have to pay one anyway. The issue is how rude and unprofessional Victoria was about the situation. My friend was in complete disbelief about the situation. This happened last week, and during a phone call with my friend today, he brought up how bizarre the situation was. Needless to say, he's not interested in becoming a member anymore.
With that being said, the gym is still a great place to workout for anyone that doesn't want to deal with the typical gym environment.

Great Gym!!! Love the 24 hour concept. Sometimes you wanna hit the gym late night cup of coffee before going to work in the COLD!!!

Clean, filled with art and rainbows, regularly upgrading/adding new equipment, the owner is responsive to questions and requests, the best gym for those who have traditionally felt excluded or unwelcomed by other gyms.

Body Arc is amazing! My wife has been going for almost a year at this point and asked if I wanted to train with an amazing human Named Britt and then start coming regularly via a membership. One of the best decisions I've made in a loooong time! This is an INCLUSIVE, NO JUDGEMENT, everyone HELPS everyone kind of gym. Highly recommend! Ummmm just saying I feel like you should be able to pick how many stars you want to give a business for review up to 1 gazillion....Body Arc would get all of em!

body arc has completely changed my outlook on working out in public. gym culture has never felt very welcoming, or even felt safe, and i’ve spent the last few years only doing at-home work outs.
but then i randomly googled “gay gym rva” and much to my delight, i found body arc! it is such a welcoming environment and safe space. it makes it easier to open up, be vulnerable and tap into potential.
britt has been a training superstar and literal delight to work with. they know how to motivate without barking orders and are so funny that it makes the time fly. i have never been a person that “didn’t want a workout to end” but i really felt that during my first session.
i already know finding this place has changed my life. it’s a whole journey so i’ll see you in a few months when i’m BEEEFEDD UPPP!!! ;)

I looooove this gym! It's immediately welcoming and not an intimidating environment at all. You can tell it's as much about building and allowing space for community and healing as much as it is about individual understandings of what health means for you. The murals and intimate space allow for a more personal touch too. Would (and have) recommend!

I’ve attended a couple of body inclusive yoga sessions that Body Arc hosted in collaboration with Tiny Bones Yoga and Fatties of RVA. This was one of the first places I’ve felt completely comfortable in my own skin, as it relates to fitness spaces. I was encouraged to do what made my body feel good and provided with support and modifications without feeling guilty or shamed. The coaches here are incredible. Nate, Brit, Gabby, etc. have all answered questions for me and are vocal advocates of making fitness culture more inclusive. Thank you Body Arc for creating a space where I feel safe, welcomed, and free to exercise without the anxieties I typically feel in gyms.

I used to HATE working out at gyms because I always felt uncomfortable and out of place. I never feel that way at Body Arq and it’s made such a world of difference both mentally and physically. The space is also visually welcoming, with bright murals and lots of natural light. I’ve been working out with Brandi of InFlight Fitness for a little over a year, and working out has gone from a chore to something I truly enjoy, and I feel stronger than ever. 10/10 can’t recommend the gym or the trainers more!

Awesome to finally have an inclusive gym in Richmond! I have never felt super comfortable in a gym until moving to this one. This would be a great place for anyone who has ever felt uncomfortable in a traditional gym setting. I have been working with my trainer for a few months and really appreciate finding someone who helps me meet my goals and makes fitness fun.

I've been working out with In Flight RVA (the owner of Body Arc) for over a year now. I love her knowledgable and inclusive approach to fitness and working out and I feel stronger than ever before. Body Arc is not your average gym, and you feel that the minute you walk in the space. It has a lot of natural light, a welcoming atmosphere, and they take covid precautions seriously. It's also inspiring to lift weights surrounded by bright and colorful murals and art!! Love this space!
