As part of a small work group in the area, we were looking for a gym that could help us to promote teamwork and morale during our monthly PT session for September. After finding Bull Run CrossFit online, I reached out over the summer, and Melissa and Brian immediately welcomed us in for a morning PT session. Their coaching and programming accommodated 50 individuals across a wide range of fitness levels. With their guidance and the support of their coaching staff, everyone was motivated to push through the partner workout—and left eager to know when the next session would be with Bull Run CrossFit.

I joined Raise the Bar through a six week challenge that I heard about from my friend who is a coach at the gym. The challenge taught me that I am strong and can lose the weight and gain the muscle. The coaches at Raise the Bar are always challenging me to go harder and to reach further. The members are like family and beat friends that you have known all of your life but you just met them. I lost 10 lbs and about 5% body fat on the six week challenge. I am telling you you need to try this gym; you will love it! This gym and the people are the best around!

I am a member at Raise the Bar and then started going to Bull Run CrossFit. And I am so glad that I did! The workouts are challenging, varied, and geared towards improving strength and overall fitness. Te gym will be supporting the CrossFit Open this year and I can’t wait to try! The coaches are wonderful and with the other members it feels like a family. It is definitely the best CrossFit gym in Manassas and Bristow!

I never knew I needed CrossFit until I found it! It’s my therapy physically, mentally, and emotionally - day in and day out. I love the coaches, they are thorough to outline proper form and points of performance with every exercise which gives me the confidence I need to move through my workouts safely. They are committed to my success and take the extra time to help me develop the skills I need to work on, and they never fail to recognize and celebrate my successes which continues to inspire me to push and try a little harder everyday. And the friends I get to start my day off with every day?? They’re the best … ALWAYS fist bumping it out at the end of class with a “you crushed that” says a lot about the community we possess! I normally think in complete sentences, but when considering RTB, I seem to full of emphatic enthusiasm. This gym is community; it’s family; it’s where I go to take care of my physical and mental health. Great balance of challenge and mentorship. Mutual support for all attending athletes. Getting back into the gym after having kids can be such a challenge, and I truly understand how difficult it can be to find the right place. That’s exactly how I felt until I found Raise the Bar. I first came across Bull Run CrossFit after seeing Jenny, One of the owners, do a cart wheel on Facebook in 2018. I immediately knew she was my type of person based off of her personality alone. I took the dive and participated in one of the challenges, and walked out losing 4.6% of my body fat in six weeks. I’m currently a member And this gym has been a crucial part of my weight loss journey as I have lost over 125lbs. If the work out itself isn’t enough to keep you around, the camaraderie and team building here is astronomical and really gives you the motivation to keep going. You really make new friends and build a community through Bull Run CrossFit and I’m thankful!

Raise the Bar Fitness is the best CrossFit gym in Manassas. Going into it, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but RtB exceeded all expectations. The coaches really take their time to help you understand things you may not know, or help you find your limit. They’re always so patient and kind, and make you feel on top of the world when you finally figure it out, or hit a new mile stone. I’ve never met a more supportive community in my life. My first day there, everyone was so kind and encouraging and I felt right at home, and it made me want to go back. I HIGHLY recommend RtB, not only for the amazing and supportive coaches, the intense but beneficial and creative workouts..But for the wonderful community and the happiness and accomplishment you feel after your workout. For me, that feeling stays with me throughout the day, and it makes going through a hard week, a little bit easier. Raise the Bar Fitness is the way to go :)

I may not look like it but before joining RtB Legion in May 2024, I struggled with my high blood pressure and high cholesterol diagnoses. I wanted to make a change and decided to try the 6 week challenge. I’ve learned a lot about nutrition and wellness while losing 10 lbs. The coaches at RtB are wonderful and knowledgeable. They thoroughly explain and demo every workout with an emphasis on correct form and technique with different variations that accommodates all level of athletes. They meet me where I’m at while still encouraging me to do a little more each day which has help me grow tremendously in the last 6 months. I also found an amazing and welcoming community during my 6 weeks. When I come and workout at RtB I know I’ll be surrounded by warm, welcoming people across the spectrum of atheletism. I recently had my annual physical and while I still have high blood pressure (131/91) my cholesterol decrease from 240 to 223. This place isn’t just a gym, it was my starting line to a healthier, future me with my own community of cheerleaders supporting me to be 1% better than yesterday 🎉📣

2 months in and loving it! When I visited BRCF a few months back I found exactly what I was looking for. Fitness has been a big part of my life for the past 10+ years, and as I looked for a new gym/box in the area, I had a specific check list of qualities I wanted to find.

First and foremost was quality programming and coaching. I was not willing to compromise here. Brian Sweeney and the programming he does for BRCF has met and exceeded my expectations. Thought out processes with a clear cut direction and goal. His knowledge/education in nutrition, mobility, recovery, and other fields have really helped my overall fitness, and improved my personal knowledge in all fields.

Secondly I wanted to find a gym that I could develop as an athlete, and as a coach. With help and direction from all of the staff at BRCF, this is becoming a reality. Each member of their staff brings a different style and quality to the table. It's evident that they all are continuing to grow and learn as coaches, and Brian does a great job of facilitating that on a weekly basis.

Lastly, and this was really just a bonus. The people. I thrive off competition, but only if it's done with respect and teamwork. I'm yet to meet a single person who cuts people down, or even just brings a poor attitude in. People are there to work out, be motivated, motivate, and have fun doing it all.

I have been going to Bull Run Crossfit for the past 2 months and I tell you what from someone who has traveled and been in crossfit boxes all over the world this one is special.
Before I went for the first time I went to their website looked at their class schedule and emailed their contact info and made sure it was ok if I joined. They responded in a timely manor and I looked forward to the workout the next day.
From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by a professional and clean front entry way. With a high end supplements and a small amount of gear for sale. Behind the desk was a smiling staff member that instantly new I was new and went out of her way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Once I introduced my self she took me through the entry way and into the main gym. (I would later learn they have a small studio upstairs for small classes and a message therapist that comes in on Fridays!)
The main fitness floor is a large spacious areas with high quality equipment. 2 large racks (ROGUE) plenty of Dumbbells, barbells, ropes, plyo boxes, rowers, bands, jump ropes, medballs, kettle bells, rings and sleds. The space was extremely clean (even the pull-up bars looked like they were wiped down, with no residual chalk or tape from the class before) and organized. They even had a diamond plate cubby corner for you to put your gym bag and what ever else your brought in with you.
As I was standing around waiting for class to start I was introduced to one of the other members who went on to tell me that he had been a member sense the begging of the gym and started his fitness career there. Good to see longterm members believing in the ideology and community.
As the rest of the class showed up and class began the coach took us through a general group warm up and did something that not all gyms do. They introduced me to the class, made some laughs and helped me feel even more welcome, like I was joining a family for dinner or something.
Once the warm up was done it was workout time. I was directed on where to get the proper equipment and gear to complete it.
Work out went well. Was fun and exhausting all at the same time. The coach stayed engaged and vigilant the entire time. Gave motivating and direction cues to the members who needed.
At the end of the workout as is customary at all gyms high 5s were given and congratulations on completing a challenging workout.
After a short cool down and mobility work and conversation I was on my way.
Leaving with a sense of welcome, community engagement, and motivated I returned and now have become a active member at the gym. And it wasn't until after all this that I learned about the unique offerings of this place. They are not only a crossfit box but also a strength and conditioning gym. Meaning they offer all types of classes for all fitness levels; from boot camps, p90x styled classes, to even striking/ self defense classes, and many more! Awesome to see them creating a place and atmosphere for anyone of any fitness level and comfort level to succeed and reach their goals!

If you are new or a veteran to Crossfit, it is important to find the right coaches that understand the program and how it's applied to each individual. I had a chance to visit Crossfit Bull Run and was impressed with what I saw. Brian and his team are incredible coaches. They challenge and motivate you to go beyond what you think you are capable of. Also, the community they have are very welcoming. Crossfit is a about great coaching and Crossfit Bull Run is where you will find it.
