Beyond thankful to have found and joined Fair Lakes Burn Boot Camp! BBC Fair Lakes is the best! The trainers are incredible—knowledgeable, encouraging, and always pushing you to challenge your limits safely. The workouts are intense but scalable for all fitness levels, and no two camps are ever the same...AND the spring floors are amazing! Plus side, the Fair Lakes location has really high ceilings and huge inside, while some other BBC locations have lower ceilings and smaller gyms.

I started burn boot camp on Jan 23, 2023 when I moved to Fairfax, VA. I found myself paying for gyms but not going due to lack of direction. I wanted to find a workout class that was both challenging and supportive. I would drive by burn and see people going in and out with excitement! It peeked my curiosity and they offered me the first class free to try it out. I walked out of that class as a member! I enjoy going into each camp knowing the trainers were there to guide us and help push us to reach our goals. They are always ready to give me a heavier weight and push me to my potential! My peers are ready to cheer me on and celebrate milestones. I never thought I would enjoy going to the gym but now I’m sad when I miss a day. The trainers, staff, and community is unmatched!!

I joined the Fair Lakes Family in the beginning of the year in 2024 and have love every minute of the journey. With a typical gym I would get bored and not know what I would be doing every day and continued to do the same thing, not working muscles correctly or seeing progress, with burn that is not the case. The workouts are always different and target all areas of the body. The amazing trainers are all so supportive and make the camps fun, yet challenging. They are encouraging and make sure to push you in a good way. I love the sense of community and support I have gained since joining, couldn't ask for a better place to be to accomplish my goals!

The best workout!! I have never been someone who liked to work out and I have never kept up with any workout program in my life until I joined burn boot camp! My boyfriend and I, both with extensive athletic backgrounds and military experience, tried out Burn Boot Camp in May while searching for a gym that fit our needs. We attended three sessions, and that was more than enough to decide it wasn’t for us.

During our last visit, we encountered an instructor named Kendall, who seemed more focused on nitpicking us than on helping those who were actually struggling. It’s curious how the only ones with decent form were the ones singled out, while others were ignored. My boyfriend raised this with management, and the response? Nothing. No follow-up, no apology—just silence.

Today, my boyfriend receives an automated text inviting him back. He politely explained our experience and asked not to be contacted again. You’d think that would be the end of it, but no. Instead, he got a dismissive, “I’m sorry you felt that way.” Classic non-apology, showing how little they care about customer feedback.

So, here’s the review we promised. If you want a gym that overlooks your concerns and sends passive-aggressive responses instead of real customer service, Burn Boot Camp might be for you. If you expect better, keep looking.

I’m going on month 4 at Burn. I’ve worked out at CrossFit gyms and others that are somewhat similar so I have something to compare Burn to. Burn has been an average experience thus far. I do enjoy the workouts, but I wish there were mirrors as the classes are WAY too large (sometimes over 20-25 people) for trainers to accurately correct the form of every person in class. Which I do believe is an issue given the cost of the membership fee.

I’m not huge on the partner workouts as I am a very shy person, but I understand they’re looking to build a community.

I’m also weird about germs. I think it’s odd that 20+ people are touching the same equipment for 45 minutes in rotation and no wipes or sanitation methods are offered.

As of now, I don’t think it’s worth the value ($175 per month is what I pay) unless you utilize their child watch and they offered more oversight during workouts. I don’t have children so this wouldn’t apply to me. I’ve only had one focus meeting that lasted maybe 3 minutes if that, and it was during my trial week. During my focus meeting I wasn’t measured or weighed although I’ve heard the opposite from other members. I will continue my last two months and hope things turn around!

40 Workout Update
I am really liking the atmosphere and once you get to know the trainers and they get to know you asking for mods is easier.
I really love seeing how Sammi, Courtney and Kayla make things fun and easy. The camraderie is amazing. I don't feel scared to try stuff. I actually jumped across the length of a terracore the other week. First time since my knee dislocation 4.5 years ago.

However I've noticed more lately the weekly workouts coming from corporate involve a lot of really risky movements. The finisher on Wednesday April 19th really concerned me.

I'm also not a huge fan of the merchandise pushing. I came to workout. Clothes are one thing. Supplements are another. As are tying competitions to purchases.

I like how strong I am becoming but I'm not sipping the Ignite.

The staff and coaches are so amazing here. I am still recovering from atrophy from a knee injury and they are so great about finding mods that work with not only my knee injury but my current fitness levels and my balance issues. I never would have imagined I would enjoy working out at 5AM but I am. The music is great. I've done 12 camps in 13 days and I am getting just as good of a workout with all the mods as much as people who clearly have been working out for years. It's also amazing to do something a little different each day. The playlists are also fire. I also appreciate the membership is universal so I can go anywhere there is a Burn Bootcamp and get a good workout. I also appreciate the 1 on 1 tips and guidance from Kayla, Courtney and Sammie. I now know I can workout and not get injured which is really exciting and I feel hopeful for the first time in 4 years I can finally build up my strength once and for all.

Compared to other class type gyms I’ve been to, burn definitely has the most positive and friendly atmosphere. If you value community this place is definitely for you but for me personally, this is actually more of a con as I prefer not to touch anyone with high fives or work out with partners. Fortunately the pros (workout intensity, coaches guiding you one on one throughout the workout, variety of workouts) weigh out these cons enough for me to keep my membership but something to keep in mind when you are considering to join! They offer free one week trial and promos, so I highly recommend taking advantage of those before committing.

Who chooses these class schedules? Morning fitness classes are only at 6, and 830? Seriously?
They don't offer any classes the entire time from 7-830 am, which would be the most common morning workout time. Very strange choice for a gym.

I am so thankful for seeing one of tte BBC Fair Lakes ads on Instagram last summer. I have always loved working out, sweating etc. but never found the engagement and encouragement I get here. I was so, so nervous my first day...group workouts sounded awful. Much to my surprise the team and BBCs approach have figured out how to get an amazing, scaled workout by skill level AND get the individual attention you need. Immediate I felt comfortable and kept coming back; consistency being my biggest win and initial goal. It's now time to set some new goals around strength and weight loss. Beyond thankful for this community. I started Burn when they opened this location in Aug 2022 and had not exercised since having my son in February 2021. The free childwatch was what pushed me to give it a try. Now I'm a regular and couldn't feel more supported. Plus my son loves it! I've started getting stronger and overall feeling healthier. Just try one class and you’ll see! It’s amazing! I’ve never in my life had a consistent workout routine and after 3 babies I needed something FOR ME. I really love Burn Boot Camp! The instructors are motivating and encouraging (Sam is awesome!). I have issues with my joints and am thankful for the modifications. The floor is called "Floating Floor" and it really helps with my joint issues. I love how Burn Boot Camp offers classes in the morning, afternoon and evening...it is very helpful with my work/mom schedule. And with my busy schedule, the time at boot camp is awesome, it's a place where I can focus on myself, and leave all my worries at the door. If you want to feel good, mentally and physically, try out a class, you won't regret it!

Really enjoying my time at Burn Fairlakes! Since having three littles, it was almost impossible to join any gym. Now, I can take the boys with me and work on me for 45 minutes.
The trainers are fantastic! Sam, Courtney, and Shannon are the ones I usually see any actually know everyone and their abilities and are there to push and encourage.

It’s been such a great experience and those 45 minutes are now a set time in my weekly routine.

I have been going to Burn Boot camp since January and it has been a game changer!
