I joined my sister for a couple of classes while visiting from Idaho and had a wonderful time! I’d never been to a CrossFit class before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the coaches and classmates were all so welcoming and helpful! Coaches Bailey and Zach were amazing and the classes were fun, engaging and just the right amount of well balanced activity to get my day off to a great start. If I lived in the area I would definitely make this gym a part of my regular routine!

I Was visiting the area and decided to check out this gym while visiting. I had a great time! Coach Bailey was super friendly. He gave good pointers to improve my form and to feel the full benefit of the workout. Plus, his baby was a lot of fun to see walking around with the coach to encourage everyone to push through the workout! Great to see a good community environment in the gym. I would recommend this for anyone in the area or for anyone that might be visiting, like myself.

I wanted to take the time to be present at the gym before posting a review. So far I've been coming to this gym for a couple months now and I've really enjoyed it. I appreciate that we start with stretches and an allotted time to try out the positions before getting into the full work out. All the coaches have been helpful with correcting posture, providing advice, and most importantly really care about the people they coach. I would recommend this gym to anyone whose looking for a place to put in some good work while bettering themselves!

I started working out a couple of weeks ago with CCF and I am very happy with my experience so far. Zach and the coaches are very attentive in making sure that I am doing the exercises correctly. I am already feeling stronger and the aches and pains I was experiencing before I joined have lessened. The other members have been very friendly and welcoming. I had great drop-in experience with Catoctin CrossFit. Bailey was very welcoming and did a great job of coaching. Parking was easy and the gym is right next to a trail for any running (I chose the C2 bike 🚲). Everything went great on my two visits over the week.

I love it. It has helped my health alot. I went from almost having to go back on insulin to within 6 weeks going from 9.7 a1c to 7.0 a1c. Also in 2 weeks I lost 2 pounds of fat and gained 7 pounds of muscle. Paul and Zach are phenomenal coaches.

Taking the leap to join Catoctin CrossFit was a big one for me. However, since then I found myself to be stronger, lighter, and more flexible. Originally, started training because of my carpal tunnel issues. Zach, the owner, offers two types of classes; a cross fit class and a small group fitness class. The cross fit class is for folks who are in fairly good shape or love to work out and want to push themselves further. It’s high energy and usually one coach instructs up to 25 members with many training options before, during or after a workday.

The small group fitness class is a more personalized class, with up to 8 members and one coach. Paul, coach of the small fitness class, caters to each person’s needs, whether due to prior injury, being a beginner or like me with my hands going numb. He adjusts the training based on one’s needs. I also loved the energy and camaraderie you built during class, despite different age groups and fitness levels.

After training 4 months, I’ve seen first success with hands going numb less. Strengthening my core and posture helped tremendously.

Now, there is more… Catoctin CrossFit also offers a nutrition program, supplement recommendations, yoga classes, massages, chiropractic services, cold plunges, Murph workout days, etc. It’s basically an “all inclusive gym.” Give it a shot, you won’t regret it! They offer trial days to see if it would be a good fit for you. I never thought I’d be a “gym person,” yet loved every minute of it.

I have never been a member or participated in any kind of a gym before. Like most, I came to p-ville cross-fit as a means of improving my physical wellbeing and a mix of several medical reasons.

Right away, Zach and coach Paul were great in fitting myself into a program that suited my needs.
The transition into their gym environment has been easy and pleasant to say the least. I have been here for (3) weeks and already feel and see results.
Their knowledge and willingness to help has been rather surprising, not what I expected. I was expecting a lot of jumping around, pounding weights etc. Non of that! Our routine have been widely versed with all different warm ups, stretching, some weights, straps etc. some parts are the same. But, every day the routines are different and I think that has been great in moving forward in my improvements. The people in the sessions i share. I couldn’t have asked for better.
If you’re thinking of trying out a gym. You might want to consider Purcellville cross-fit. Keep in mind there is a whole other gym here. I haven’t seen yet and looking forward to do so.
Keep in mind; They didn’t even pay me to say this stuff!

After spending a couple years working on my dad-bod, I decided that my fittest years weren’t going to be behind me. After some research, I joined Catoctin CrosssFit and it’s been the best decision ever. I’m down 14 lbs and counting, strength is coming back in, and I’m feeling great!

If you’re new to CrossFit as I was, don’t worry Zach and his team are great instructors, offer coaching, and have alternate movements for all fitness levels. I came in with a shoulder injury and they were able to work around it, help rehab it some, and it’s now doing much better.

Highly recommend this gym. Zach (Owner) is a phenomenal coach and is very focused on doing the movements correctly/stretching to prevent injury. Zach takes the time to get to know you and your goals. Facility has all the equipment you could need. I joined so that I no longer had to plan my own workouts. Every day of the week/workout is planned by Sunday so you can view every workout that week. This gym offers many class times a day, which is extremely convenient depending on your schedule. More importantly you can join this gym regardless of your CrossFit experience, Zach is prepared to coach at any level. Love this place.

I highly recommend Catoctin Crossfit to anyone of any age interesting in feeling better, looking better, losing some weight (if that’s one of your goals), and/or getting in better shape. Regardless of where you are fitness-wise right now, the coaches at Catoctin CrossFit will make you stronger, healthier, leaner, and more fit. Classes are offered regularly throughout the day from early morning to evening, and the class members range everywhere from incredibly fit to very much beginners. Everyone I’ve run into is supportive of one another and share the common goal of personal improvement. You truly can just show up, put in your hour, work hard, and leave stronger and healthier each day without having to put in any thought; something that I have found to be valuable when juggling so many other demands in life. On top of all this, Zach (the owner and a coach) is always positive and will push you if you need it and support you when necessary. He’s just really good at what he does. Go check it out - at the bare minimum you’ll leave better than before!

AWESOME workout! Quick and intense working cardio and strength. Was my first time at the gym. Everyone was welcoming and treated me like I was a long-time member. The coaches were very helpful and modified for every level from rookie to veteran. I had never done one of the lifts before. To my surprise, the coach spent tons of one-on-one time with me helping me with my technique making sure I was safe and comfortable with it. Fantastic group from coaches to members. I look forward to my next workout!!

I was just visiting a friend and was tagging along for a few days to get a few workouts in. The warm up was thorough and I felt ready to get into the workout when it was done. I found the workouts to be challenging which is great. I was somewhat familiar with how to do most of the movements but the instructors walk around and give suggestions on how to do the moves better. They move right along with the different workout segments so you never feel like you’re standing around. I really enjoyed the workouts of the day and it seems that the programming is well tailored for the hour slot you are there. I was only there for 2 days, but my friend showed me the workouts they have scheduled for the week and there was a good variety of different workouts so you won’t get bored. They also have more than enough quality equipment to accommodate all participants and there’s enough room to be able to move around adequately. Overall I found the experience to be very enjoyable and the owner of the gym and the instructors to be very friendly and approachable. Again, they work you hard so if you’re down to get your butt kicked, this is the place for you! Highly recommend! I wish I had a place like this near me because I would go everyday!

The best thing I’ve done in years for my health and fitness is joining Catoctin CrossFit. After getting married, pandemic, having kids, exercising fell off my radar. Zach and his team take all that off your plate and get you moving again at your speed to help build up the necessary foundation for a healthy lifestyle. I was a member at Catoctin CrossFit for 3 months. I had a disappointing experience, with a few of the coaches including Zack. I approached Zack with a problem and he was very unprofessional and didn’t provide any resolution. Instead I was mocked and made feel extremely uncomfortable. Went to visit a friend who does crossfit here and he took me as a guest. This was my first crossfit experience and i was honestly a bit nervous going in but everyone there is incredibly friendly and encouraging. The trainers put together a challenging program and were right there the whole time with advice and to give you a little push. I just joined the Catoctin CrossFit gym as a beginner. I’m only 4 days in and I already feel so at home and welcomed by all. It truly does feel like a family once you walk in those doors. Now that I have spent a lot of time and money with this gym, it is always evolving but sometime too much change isn't a good thing. I have been with this gym nearly two years but the last few months they have made several changes with staffing, the quality for the cost is no longer there. There has been several amenities added as well as extra fees and costs for those amenities. Choose your gym carefully because if you want experienced and personable coaching this may not be for you. If you want billing struggles, this may not be for you either.

I can't say enough good things about Paul Koczera and his small group training program at Catoctin Fitness. I tried many studios and classes in the area before joining, and I'm so glad I did--none of the other gyms compare to Paul's program. The small group format allows him to provide each participant with personalized instruction. Each class is carefully planned and structured to ensure whole-body strength training over the course of the week. (This also ensures that the workouts are never boring.) Paul knows the fitness goals of every one of his clients, and is very positive, affirming, and encouraging - checking in outside of the studio to provide motivation and check on recovery. After decades of an on-again, off-again relationship with fitness, I can honestly say this is the only gym/workout I actually look forward to going to-- even in the morning! If you're on the fence about joining, just do it! You won't regret it.
