My kids have taken a variety of classes at CORE over the past six years and we continue to be impressed by the sweet but tough teachers who help the kids overcome fears and challenges to keep growing and learning.

Amazing gym for kids! πŸ§—β€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ The facility is clean, safe, and full of energy. The coaches are supportive and great with children.
It’s also a fantastic place to host a birthday party β€” so much space to run, jump, and have fun! πŸŽ‰
We run Let’s Party β€” a kids’ entertainment company β€” and would love to bring our bubble shows or face painting here for future events. Highly recommend this place for both sports and celebrations!

All 3 of my kids have taken classes at CORE. We love it and the little community we have found there. The teachers genuinely care about the kids which is an added bonus!

My son has loved the Lil Ninja program there for 3+ years. But tonight. WOW. We hosted his first birthday party there and it was spectacular. Every single moment of it. They have a wonderful Ninja program, the staff is incredible, and the birthday parties...oh my! I can not speak highly enough of this place, and would give it 10 stars if I could.

My daughter enjoyed her time there. We were members for almost a year After about 4-5 months, my daughter started to feel a little bored and wouldn't be as excited about going. I think it's because they do the same general thing week-to-week and there isn't a sense of goals or progress over time. I am also not a fan of their membership model. It's basically $100 a month and it just goes on infinitely until you choose to stop. I would prefer it to be structured more around "seasons" with a culminating show so the kids could feel a sense of growth, progress and pride. All in all - We enjoyed our time but will be looking for other gymnastics options in the future with a different class model oriented more towards growth.

My daughter recently had her birthday party there to celebrate turning 6. It was well planned, organized, and executed! They ran, played, and jumped. Good timing throughout to change up activities and what they do and everyone got a chance to do things multiple times. Everyone had a blast!

Had our son's 4th birthday party here with his preschool class and it was great! We did the ninja ropes course, and all of his 3-4 year old friends loved it. The instructors lead the kids for an hour and then assist with snacks and cake for the last 30 minutes. It was so smooth and we are so glad we decided to go this route!

My daughter has being going to core for about two years and loves it! She has grown so much in her ability and they do a great job of giving attention to each student even in the group setting. I’m so glad they were able to safely reopen and appreciative of the precautions they take to let the kids still be able to enjoy coming.

We have been on the kids’ ninja waiting list for MONTHS. Apparently they have no plans to add more kids’ ninja classes even though their current classes are full, and even though we were told at the first of the year that more classes would be added soon.

My daughter LOOOOVVVVVEEEEESSS coming to gymnastics. She adores Ms. Cora and her teachers. I have not had any bad experiences here at all. I've experienced nothing but over exceptional professionalism from all the staff. She has strengthen our daughter over the last few months. I highly recommend you choosing this gym if you are looking to enroll your child into gymnastics.

I can say one thing and that is when my daughter comes to gymnastics she is always ready to go. Not only because of her love for gymnastics but because she LOVES every single person that works in the building including the person who runs it Ms. Cora. She loves to work with her and all of the other children and believe me it’s never a down moment when it comes to the children. Everybody including Ms. Cora treats everybody the same I’ve never had a moment when she was rude to any parent. Keep up the great work you guys are doing a great job!

Suuuuuuper rude owner!
Always ready to be snappy with every interaction we have had with her.
Our child lives going to gymnastics in general, but it’s hard to stomach how rude the owner is.
What makes it more difficult is we really like our child’s teacher!
I can only imagine how well the business would be doing without the presence of the owner in the store and the teacher either owned or managed the store. From one business owner to another... get out of your own way. A couple families talk outside of the building while our children are doing gymnastics about potentially leaving due to her rude behavior towards parents.
:/
Also good luck on trying to get a hold of somebody on the phone

My son had his 7th birthday party there, we were looking forward to an exciting experience and ended up feeling like I wish I had of spent my money somewhere else. The kids seemed to sonewhat enjoy the Ninja Kick Party however all the extras that were to be included in the price you paid such as helium balloon for the kids, complimentary passes were not provided or mentioned. When trying to reach them by phone no one answers or returns or call, why would they now they already have the money. I would not recommend.

I cannot say enough positive things about CORE academy. My daughter has doubled her strength and agility in just a few weeks of ninja zone classes. This is not to mention the positive impact the classes have had on her confidence, and character since starting here. Every class has a short character lesson built in and my daughter really takes these lessons to heart. Her teacher is Kelsey and she is AMAZING with the kids. Best money I’ve ever spent!

I love the joy that CORE has brought to my boys and our family and I would highly recommend CORE for all children of all ages.

Not overly impressed. Very crowded seems like kids on top of kids. Facility is dirty some saturdays smell like they tried to clean the floor with a dirty mop. I didn’t think the teacher was hands on with my child. My child is 5 never had a gymnastics lesson in her life and I had to teach how to flip at home. I thought since it was a begginers class that the teacher would be more hands on. When she gets on the rings there was never any instruction on how to hold them or swing from them. We will not be back.

CORE Kids Academy has been ideal for us from when our kids were just starting out and still now that they are evolving in their gymnastics. Unlike other area gyms that have kids classes, CORE is clearly a gym for kids of ALL ages. The coaches and staff are patient, enthusiastic, and highly engaged during each class. Also, the online enrollment and payment features make it really easy for me to keep up.

CORE has shown my daughter a LOVE of gymnastics! Every coach she has had over the past 3 years has been fantastic. They focus on building self esteem, balance, teamwork and dont push competitive team (unless you're interested in that). Living in Southside, I drive past, at minimum, 5 gyms and it is worth it! It's a relaxed comfortable environment where the kids grow without pressure. We love it!

Core is a nice gymnastics place for kids, with friendly teachers!... They have parent drop off nights on some Fridays where the kids can practice their "skills" & they even have classes catered to little ones and boys! They do birthday party events and camps, during the summer.
One thing you should know is during the year you can only make up 1 class per session, but in the summer you can make up unlimited classes!
The kids also enjoy the caterpillar bouncy the last class of the every session and when they do their gymnastics shows, get a trophy or my medal, and show off what they've learned, but that's not every session. They've re-done that shopping center and it's looking nice.... There are tables outside for you to enjoy the nice weather or eat some of that super awesome pizza from next door.
Doors aren't wheelchair friendly, but they do have 2 restrooms on each side of the gym.
It's better to go in person if you have a question because it is sometimes hard to get someone on the phone.
They sell gymnastics attire there, but it is pricey.

We had a great experience for my daughters 6th birthday at Core Kids. They went above and beyond to make her feel super special. Her friends had a blast. They help in any way, setting up the table to serving our pizza. The instructors were great! My daughter is now signed up for there fall classes and can't wait!

For the past year both of my kids (ages 5 and 2) have attended weekly classes at CORE. The staff has been incredible! My daughter is (or should I say was...!) a bit of a clinger and had a hard time being separated from me. However, every week Coach Tiffany (and others as well) broke down her walls and made her feel comfortable and safe. They are now great buddies. I even was able to drop her off at CORE camp this week (no Mom AT ALL) and she did wonderfully!
My son has been participating in Ninja class. Wow! This is quite the class. Every week it's something new and different, building on old skills and learning new ones. All age and level appropriate. My son really feels like a ninja! We've been lucky enough to participate in a few different classes and all the coaches are terrific - each with their own style. I was going to take the summer "off" from ninja class but my son begged to keep going. I'm so glad I did as this summer he has gotten SO strong and confident. While a bit hesitant at first, he no longer is. There is a huge difference in his abilities and his excitement to participate.
Thanks CORE!

This review is specifically about their summer camp. I would not recommend their 2 year old class, they are not equipped or choose not to handle standard 2 year old behavior. They will call you in a heartbeat to pick up early. My (new to them) two year old didn't know what to do and was asked to leave (and not return) because she wouldn't stay with her group. It's one large room with 3? groups (40-60 kids?) in it at once, about 10 feet from one another. My daughter probably didn't even know which group she was in. She is 2. From start to finish this was not a good experience and they were never welcoming or comforting in any way. They were disorganized and then berated me because my 2 year old didn't listen to someone they just met in a room full of screaming kids with no barriers and brightly colored fun objects. This also must happen all the time because the owner who was standing 20 feet away never thought it appropriate to speak with me until I requested to speak with her. Hopefully, better for older kids or if you have a 2 year old soldier. I really wanted to have a good experience there because my daughter seemed to enjoy it. I just don't think they want the extra work that comes with children that young.

We LOVE Core and have had an amazing experience with this gym! All three of my girls have taken classes here since they were 18 months old - starting in the mommy and me classes and now my oldest is on the team. The coaches are enthusiastic and passionate about their classes and foster a fun environment for our children to develop flexibility and strength with fun gymnastic moves. In addition, we have hosted three birthday parties here for children of all ages. The staff took care of everything---- all we did was bring the cake. I highly recommend Core to anyone looking for a fun gymnastics experience for their son or daughter.

Our family has been attending classes here for 2 years, and we wouldn't go anywhere else. We live nearly 45 minutes away, and despite closer gyms we come here intentionally - they are THAT good! My oldest is VERY high energy and Coach Cora takes time to nurture her beyond her physical skills to improve discipline and attention. My youngest is the opposite, and Coach Tiffany has gone above and beyond to develop trust with his cautious personality. He's come out of his shell socially in other areas because of it! We are so grateful for CORE and have plans to stay here for the foreseeable future.

Be sure to read the fine print. If you are signing up for classes you'll have to pay a $45 member fee in addition to the classes. You'll receive one make up class but it must be used within your session timeframe - not ideal for working parents who can't take their kids during the week. They are very strict and not flexible at all with their policies, which seems a bit much for toddler classes.

Some instructors were great, ours was very low energy, didn't seem to want to be there and the kids didn't respond well. Again, we only did the toddler class, I'm sure the more advanced instructors are great. We won't be returning.

Initially we came to CORE for a birthday party. After trying my son in Tae Quando and him hate it, I decided to redeem our "complimentary class" voucher at CORE. My son was hooked on gymnastics during that first class and we've been coming ever since! A year later, my daughter is enrolled as well and both kids look forward to coming to class each week. The coaches are warm and encouraging and I have seen growth in both my son and daughter in the time they have been coming to CORE. The gym is clean, bright and colorful and safety as well as FUN is always a top priority. In addition to weekly classes my kids have enjoyed participating in "Flip Fests" as well as "Kids Night Out." CORE was the first choice of venue for my son's upcoming 6th birthday party. We HIGHLY recommend CORE to anyone interested in a truly enriching experience.

We've had our children in classes for approximately 3 yrs, and we have loved every class experience. Both my 5yr old son and my 3yr old daughter are excited, and look forward to every session. By far the best gym there is in the Richmond area! We have experienced a couple gyms one closed...and let us know that week that we would have to go somewhere else. Another wasn't very accommodating and times were awful. My son has been going to Core Kids Academy for almost 2 years and absolutely loves it! The staff is always very kind and understanding, and pushes him to do his best in a safe environment. They never do the same thing week to week and do a great job of mixing it up to keep his active mind engaged and interested in the task. My son loves them like family!

I booked my daughters' birthday party at Core and it was a horrible experience. I physically went to the gym and signed the contract and paid the deposit. I was called days later and told that they had mistakenly double booked the time and cancelled my party. I had sent out invites already. To add injury to insult it is over a month later and they have not credited me the $100 deposit fee that I paid. I would be very careful when making arrangements with this very disorganized business!
