The facility is amazing... But, the personal training team - agenda is so unprofessional.. My trainer nice & talented but from hello it was an aggressive scripted to totally upsell more training packages and services.. made the session un enjoyable.. i was so turned away from ever wanting to entertain more sessions!!! Its disrespectful to the new members...

Good equipment, good childwatch, staff is laid back, trainers training very very well. I’ve been to a lot of Gyms and crunch is a good one, if I had to think of anything negative it would only be that the drink selection isn’t all that great but other than that it’s worth the 5 stars

The best gym in town! 5🌟
Beautiful gym. high quality equipment, clean, great space and bright.
The only thing I would suggest a little change, it's the staff at the front desk. Some of them are not very smiley. A smile is always welcome and it cost absolutely nothing.
Outside of that, ITS A REALLY GREAT PLACE TO TRAIN.

My wife and I showed up to this gym almost every single day since it opened, and the only reason we were this committed was because of our trainer, Trevor. He cared about us, pushed us, and genuinely transformed our lives. What happened with him wasn’t just disappointing—it was infuriating. The way his departure was handled felt cold, abrupt, and completely out of touch with the reality of what he meant to his clients.
Yes, the gym is nice, but in our experience, the personal training department operates with a level of disregard that shocked us. As an example, the management team cancelled our sessions for “Training Day,” which implied they would rather advertise to prospective clients instead of valuing the clients they already have. No director ever thanked us for our business, even though they had to create a 6-day/week contract for us, since the largest listed contract was 5-days/week. It gave us the strong impression that leadership prioritized sales metrics over actual human relationships. It felt like we were nothing more than numbers in a spreadsheet.
And that’s what makes this so maddening. There are amazing trainers here—people who genuinely care. But after watching how this situation unfolded, it’s incredibly hard to believe they’re valued. From our perspective, any trainer you connect with could be pulled out from under you at a moment’s notice, with zero consideration for the clients depending on them. Losing Trevor wasn’t just frustrating—it felt like a slap in the face after everything we invested here.
We reached out to regional management hoping someone would care enough to listen. Instead, the conversation left us feeling dismissed and unimportant, like our loyalty and our experience meant absolutely nothing. After everything we put into this place, that was beyond infuriating.
We were excited when Crunch opened. We were proud to be early supporters. But after how this was handled, that excitement is completely gone. What happened didn’t just sour our experience—it shattered it. And it’s hard to look at the entire Crunch brand the same way again.

Edit: At first I really liked it but several machines have been broken for weeks now and it seems like they just don’t fix them. /:
I love this gym! All new equipment, lots of machines, lots of variety. Employees are very nice and helpful. I do wish they didn’t pressure you so much to do the personal training program however it’s not the employees fault but rather the company making them push it so much. Great location as well.

I’ve had a good experience… I love the class that they have during the week. Marisa is amaaaaaazing. I take her classes on wednesdays starting at 5:30. Butt, Belly & Butt/Top It Off & Absolution. Love the 30 min classes. They’re over before you know it… They encourage you to work at your own pace. There is absolutely no judgement!!! The people in the class are nice as well!!! I go to other instructors & they’re kind as too. Love this gym & the classes. I can tell that I’m loosing some weight & strengthening my floating knee cap & my shoulders. I would say it’s a must try!!! The price isn’t bad either!!!
Thank you for reading my review!!! Prayerfully you have/had a wonderful & amazing day on purpose!!!

I absolutely love this gym! I got the peak performance membership because I wanted unlimited access to sauna and hydromassage and to participate in fitness classes which they have a nice variety of. Just finished a class called Top It Off with Instructor Marissa. She, Amelia, and Emily are my favorite class instructors! Most classes are designed so beginners, intermediate, and advanced participants can workout together and still have a good time. I also currently use their personal trainer program. My trainer is Parker, highly recommend, he's awesome! I will caution you with trainer program - make sure you can long term afford it because it is commitment based. Otherwise great gym and there's even member perks and 2 great apps to use.

Heads up They like to lie to you about the payments for your membership.\n And they get you on late fees, but not telling you that your card has expired, or there are problems with payments, they actually let it rack up. They steal your money and they double charge you. They're not up front about all the fees so watch your bank accounts very closely.
And don't trust anyone that works for crunch. They're just trying to rob you of your money. Because I got charged over a $100 because they didn't tell me. But there were building issues as well as additional costs. I could only give them one star because i'm not able to give them zero or negative stars.
( i would never in my life ever recommend crunch fitness to anyone)

I am a long time member of Crunch in NYC. I went to this location during a trip in VA. Overall, this location has pretty decent equipment - there are plenty of treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals, weights, benches & stretching areas. It's very spacious. What could use work is the women’s locker room. It wasn't clean & there weren't any amenities. I assume that outside of a city, ppl have to bring towels and shampoo. However, there are no hairdryers or other items (vanity mirror, stools) women might need to get ready for work.

Don’t fall for their scam of free months and cancel anytime because it’s not true. I was charged for my free months, I was charged after cancelling, I had to pay a cancellation fee and then was told you’re not allowed to cancel within 60 days and they refuse to refund. Avoid this scam if you can.

Not nearly as bad as other people have said, still very generic. Not a ton of machines, but seems very new. About average, not really exceptional but not terrible

Haven't been there, was contemplating on highway purchasing a membership, but after reading that, maybe when they share why as a multi-million dollar company they supposedly don't have video footage, I mean if I was working out, if a situation like that were to happen, I would want that to be looked at, or should I have to record it on my phone?? The situation shouldn't be happening at all...

Today was supposed to be a positive day. I brought six teenagers I mentor — young men who are working hard to turn their lives around — to Crunch Fitness so they could experience something good, healthy, and uplifting. These are youth from difficult backgrounds who are learning what discipline, structure, and self-respect look like. I wanted to give them an environment that could motivate them toward growth.
But instead of being welcomed, we were met with humiliation.
The training manager, Quarter Morrison, accused me of “cheating the system” simply because I tried to get a few of them day passes. Three of them had never stepped foot in Crunch before. Two had come once before as guests. I explained this calmly, but Quarter immediately labeled me as if I was doing something wrong — even suggesting I was a “trainer” bringing in clients, which isn’t true. I’m a mentor trying to help these young people find hope through fitness.
He spoke to me in a way that was condescending and dismissive, as if my intentions didn’t matter and the young men I brought weren’t worth the courtesy of understanding. When I asked for the number to headquarters to voice my concern, he refused and walked away. His words — “cheating the system” — stuck with me, not because of the accusation, but because of what they implied. It made me feel profiled and disrespected.
As someone who pays for a membership, I’ve always loved the Crunch Fitness brand because of its message of inclusion, encouragement, and self-improvement. But today, I left feeling crushed. The teens I brought — kids who already face rejection in so many ways — walked away feeling unwanted and unwelcome in a place that should represent empowerment.
I’m not just writing this review for myself. I’m writing it for every young person who’s ever been looked at like they didn’t belong. There are cameras in that building — please, pull the footage. See the truth for yourself.
I didn’t come to cheat the system. I came to change lives. And today, Crunch Fitness failed to see that.
If this is how leadership at the Lynchburg location treats loyal members and community mentors, I will take my membership — and my mission — to Planet Fitness or Kinetix, where people are treated with dignity.
Shame on you, Quarter. And shame on any system that allows a paying customer trying to do good in the community to be treated this way.

Extremely deceptive billing practices, have not even had to the chance to see the gym in person and was just greeted with a $96 dollar charge to my account, so 2x the normal cost.
The only mention of an annual fee was detailed at the bottom of their subscription page and it says after the charge hits after the “first month” , it is now the second month.

Nice gym, cool staff - Deceptive signup practices. Advertise a $1 dollar sign up fee, with a $10 dollar monthly rate. You however, still have to pay an "Annual Fee" of roughly $60 bucks two months after sign up. I asked what it was at sign up in front of complete nutrition and the young lady said it was part of the $1 dollar sign up fee, which I can see now is false. The fee being charged two months afterwards is likely a way for them to get out of false advertising allegations. Likely to take advantage of people that only signed up for only one month.
Honesty? Never heard of 'em.

This is a great gym with plenty of free weights and machines to achieve your fitness goals. I switched to Crunch from another gym when they opened recently and I have not looked back. I have packed on muscle since just the beginning of August alone at this new gym. This gym is a great place to trim down or bulk up, depending on your goals. I highly recommend!

As a stay-at-home mom, my abilities to optimize my fitness are minimal; my husband's work hours are extensive, which means I am the primary caretaker 70+ hours a week (as often as 24/7 at times.) Once I heard Crunch was opening, I cancelled my minimally used Planet Fitness and excitedly anticipated Crunch's opening. Crunch has exceeded my expectations in many ways:
1. KIDS CRUNCH. I doubt the workers even realize how life changing their positions are to so many parents in Lynchburg that share my shoes. The local moms' Facebook groups are inundated with people asking about Kids Crunch, for fitness partners, etc. I am thrilled with the patience of these workers and the creation of a local gym daycare that now makes fitness accessible to a group that *needs* this. I would not have a membership without this amenity. Even just to hit the treadmill with a book! Or to take a shower!!!
2. Free weights that go up by 2.5 lbs 😍 no more drop sets on curls! Get the weight you need and go. So! Many! Machines! Smith squat racks, glute bridge machines, hack squat, and like 10 deadlift platforms and squat racks!!! So many stair climbers!
3. A SAUNA???? what?? massage beds, SO many group fitness classes (Zumba, HITT, spinning, etc.) The personal trainers aren't *the most* budget friendly, but they're an *amazing* resource; def priced appropriately for the value they offer. No red light at this location.
While crunch is worth every dollar, I want to mention kids crunch again. Kids crunch is why I can go to the gym. I'm sure dozens of other local families and parents feel the same way. No other amenity could have encouraged me to join crunch, because without this, the gym does not fit into my schedule (not to blast at-home workouts, but sometimes I want to do situps without getting my hair pulled by a baby too, lol.) So, huge thank you to all those wonderful workers at the daycare, you are SUCH a blessing. I'd love to see more hires in there and maybe even a higher pay, bc ik those girls are overwhelmed at 5 pm when 30 kids tsunami through those doors!!! What they do is amazing!

The gym is large and very clean however I do not understand their Fitness classes?! The HIiT Zone I thought was supposed to be an intense class but it is extremely weak and after warm up and cool down you're really only looking at 25 minutes of a workout not to mention their barbell class is also extremely weak they need to have a class that is not for beginners. Crunch Fitness needs to offer classes that actually make you sweat and burn calories it is an extreme disappointment as I joined for the sole purpose of difficult and challenging workouts that push you to the limits

Definitely will be first and last time walking in the doors at crunch fitness Lynchburg. I have never felt so uncomfortable. I went into this location today to join as a secondary gym and it was very uncomfortable as the guy working the desk asked me if I wanted a tour I stated no, I could figure it out. then he proceeded to tell me well you can just do it all on your phone not even explaining the plans or anything just absolutely rude. Obviously if I have to do everything I’m not gonna join because I can go somewhere else where front desk clerks will be more than happy to sign me up. Clearly they were signing a new member up at the desk as they were going over things with one guest. To be fair all guests should be treated the same. No one should ever feel like they are burdened and clearly I bothered the guy working at the desk for no reason by the demeanor I was presented with. My money is just as good as the other person being signed up so I will take my business elsewhere.

Love it here! My biggest feedback for the gym, though, is to get a full set up pull up bands that members can use (ranging from the skinniest bands to the thickest) and to get a set of pull-up bars that have better grip (like the ones you see in CrossFit gyms)

Clean gym with very friendly staff. I would love to continue coming here, but I ended up cancelling only because I get a free membership to another gym closer to my work. There was a miscommunication about the cancellation policy, but Derick took responsibility for the miscommunication and squared me away without any extra fees or charges! Thank you Derick!

My first day i got stood up by my personal trainer and haven’t a word from him on why lol. Was looking forward to meeting him and get things going and he wasn’t there and hasn’t reached out. I am glad that another trainer did step in in his place. Gym looks great as well :)

Writing this on opening day! The gym is large, lots of machines and free weights. The training session I've already had with Taylor was a good workout followed by good input about what to do going forward to reach my goals. Looking forward to working out here regularly, and I'll try to update this after I've been going for a while. If you see this early, try to get into the first 500 members, I got a free personal training session and body scan. Super informative!

I’m excited for opening day tomorrow, and I’ve seen the extensive equipment, classes, and personal trainers available. It’s a great deal for a gym that is so well equipped! I have probably had more than 10 memberships to various gyms in my life, and it is surprising to have such a nice facility in a town this size.

I (WAS) a planet fitness member (UNTIL) I was introduced by Brett and Lynchburg Crunch. Brett and Sabastian were very impressive in their professional fitness display of Crunch Fitness. Crunch fitness possesses a wonderful location in Lynchburg, staffed with very impressive "coaches" such as Brett and Sabastian. I would highly recommend one to visit the location and experience the professionalism as I did.

ASK FOR AMELIA!! :-)
She’s kind, patient and caring. All excellent qualities for being a personal trainer! She’s great at motivating and encouraging without over-pushing, which is nice from the same old “suck it up butter cup” trainers I’ve had in the past. She really listens to your concerns and maneuvers the workout accordingly. Not to mention she’s awesome to be around with great conversation!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Trust me, you won’t regret it!!!
