I’m extremely disappointed in this Crunch franchise (JF Fitness of North America) for their complete lack of transparency and customer service. While my trainer Chris Patterson and the staff have been fantastic, management—especially Fitness Director Nick May—has been the opposite.

I have 44 fully paid, unused personal training sessions at the Glenside location. I was told in writing that my sessions never expire, yet no one disclosed that they cannot be used at any other Crunch location. After moving to Norfolk, I learned that these sessions are locked to this single franchise, something that was never mentioned when I signed up and something most customers would reasonably assume would transfer between Crunch gyms. How come I can use any crunch gym with my membership, but my sessions won't transfer?

JF Fitness has offered zero real solutions—just “sell your sessions” or drive hours back to Richmond. No one will buy them, and I no longer live there. I even tried to coordinate a transfer and was initially led to believe it might be possible, only for management to completely dismiss it.

The lack of honesty, accountability, and basic customer service from Nick May and upper management is unacceptable. This feels misleading and unethical, and I will be reporting it to the Better Business Bureau for failure to disclose critical information.

Shame on JF Fitness for taking advantage of loyal members and hiding behind franchise loopholes instead of doing what’s right.

Been going here for some years. Gym is fine to be honest however they just replaced all the BLUE machine padding with GREY ones and it made the whole place very drab and undesirable.
Color theory is super important in a place that people already do not want to be. I LOVE working out and I had to leave early because it sucked so much. I’m going to check the other crunch and if they have switched as well I’ll need to find a new gym.
Don’t be surprised if the amount of new sign up dips dramatically. I guarantee you it’ll be because of the gray.

Great gym. No complaints. I’ve been coming here for four (going on five years), and have always loved this Crunch location. Exceptionally friendly and polite staff - including everyone from the front desk, to the class instructors, to the personal trainers. No shortage of equipment here either, though it can get pretty packed here during the evenings. The only thing missing is a pool, but unless you’re specifically looking to swim this gym will have everything you need. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming to this location regularly for 3 years. This building changed my life. Friendly staff, good equipment, spacious area to work out and stretch, open 7 days a week and a variety of classes. My only constructive criticism would be to add more variety of equipment. Although there is plenty of equipment to choose from, the same equipment is here since the day I began coming 3 years ago with no changes. A hack squat machine would be helpful.

THE ONLY REASON THIS LOCATION IS GETTING 4 AND NOT 5 STARS IS BECAUSE THEY TOOK THE BASKETBALL HOOP DOWN.
My grandmother and I come in here every other day, for us to exercise a bit and for her to use the hydromassage for scoliosis. I always have to wait ten minutes for her to be done, and I miss the days when I could throw at the hoops while I waited. I was shocked when they got rid of it. Everyone loved that thing!!!
