I had called in yesterday and spoken to Lolita and Lindsey. Both were extremely energetic and pleasant. I came in for a tour today and had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey and Ashley. The facility is clean and well organized. Cardio machines and group fitness area is downstairs. Weights are upstairs. There seems to be a fair amount of equipment! I'm looking forward to signing up soon!

This gym has the friendliest most helpful staff. The locker/shower/restroom area is kept squeaky clean. They pack an amazing array of top notch equipment into the two levels including a light-filled glass enclosed cycle studio that will be re-established as Virginiaβs Covid restrictions allow. I can also personally give a hearty shout-out for Johnβs cross-training class, Laurieβs cycle class, Robertoβs boxing class, Sonyaβs barre class, and Margieβs sculpting class! The management is awesome!

They have a good amount of equipment: 3 squat racks, 4 or 5 bench presses, deadlifting equipment, 2 free weight/dumbbell areas, pull-up bars, and lots of high quality machines for every muscle.
The facility is very clean, and staff and members are friendly.

I have belong to many clubs over the years. The team at Crunch Tysons is by far the most thoughtful, accommodating and pleasant. Specific to my trainer Roberto Arcos, he is highly skilled, observant and articulate in his instruction. He has an excellent understanding of structural and muscle physiology. Roberto's understanding is unparalleled as compared to over a dozen trainers I have would work with a regular basis over the past 20 years. His workouts are dynamic, challenging and safe.

COVID make staying in shape incredibly problematic. Crunch offers excellent variety of machinery, including HOIST! Like many gyms when you start, the inevitable "lets meet and talk" - which I always dread. Not in this case. Staff is very courteous - no hard sales and my health consultant Sebastian was outstanding on providing meaningful feedback on diet and exercise regiments. Even when his first suggestions could not work due to specific past injuries, he immediately had alternatives that are designed to achieve without causing pain or injury.
Prices on sports beverages are also very reasonable when compared to other facilities.

This is what customer service looks like!
Was in the Tysons area for the Holiday. Desperately needed to work out. Thought my Crunch membership from my home gym was good anywhere, but it turned out not to be the case. Karen explained the situation and even went so far as providing me with two guest passes. Who does that anymore? Happy and worked out and back home in San Antonio! Kudos to Karen and the staff!

As a result of Covid I submitted resignation paperwork in March 2020. I received a call from the gym suggesting that I go "inactive" until the end of October and reassess. I did that. Karen, the gym manager contacted me in mid-October to remind me my "inactive" status was coming to an end asking what I wanted to do, which was thoughtful In light of the continuing spread of Covid I decided to end my gym membership. I then received a bill for the month of November -- despite having been inactive for 8 months -- as 30 days notice is required for a "resignation". No offer of another period of "inactivity", which apparently requires no notice, and then "resignation" to avoid a resignation fee. Really liked this gym but not impressed with the way they have handled this matter. Would like to come back to this gym after Covid is resolved but will now look elsewhere. Luckily there are lots of options out there . . . plus they never took care of the black mold growing on the AC ducts upstairs after months of complaints. Better to collect for service that will never be used than address black mold issues. Got it.

This is a signature location and not part of the peak performance plans.
Manager Karen was great to invite my girlfriend and I while we were in town for a wedding.

Crunch is an excellent gym. Ive been member since Dec 2017 and have never had a negative experience. They are a gym that sticks to the basics of physical fitness. They have plenty of personal trainers and class for anyone looking to improve their fitness. The equipment and staff is also top notch...They are one of the few locations who found a way to survive through the Covid-19 pandemic.

New management. They've made several changes and completely gotten rid of surf set, or were trying to, last time I checked. I have also been mistakenly charged for personal training for the last two months after quitting. After contacting Chandler both by email and leaving my number at the front desk several times, I have been blatantly ignored, hence the one star rating.

This gym was great until a few months into my membership. I noticed that several pieces of equipment were broken, and the small combination lockers were all either broken or locked open and unavailable for use. I sent an email to to the manager, Chandler Burden, who promptly responded that the lockers and other issues would be fixed or replaced.
At this time, the annual "maintenance fee" has already been pulled from my card. I assumed this meant that the broken equipment, lockers, and bathroom that constantly smelled like mold would get fixed. Nope, instead, they put in a brand new training area for paid classes only (excluding a one month free promotion). Even after filling out a survey about how unkempt this gym is, I got a condescending email back instead of anything remotely close to a resolution.
If you want to patronize a gym where nothing gets fixed, members are allowed to hog machines/racks for an hour straight, leave weights all over the floor, and never wipe down equipment, you can't beat Crunch.

Crunch Tysons has been great! Friendly staff, good facility, positive atmosphere. The only thing is that we could use more classes. Michelle is a fantastic instructor--I push myself to my limits at every single one of her classes! I would love to have her teaching more morning classes at Tysons. Also, bringing back SurfSet classes (especially having them on weekday mornings) would improve the class schedule a ton. Hope to see Michelle at Tysons more often!!

Run by utterly, completely, miserably dishonest and incompetent staff. That's particularly true for Assistant General Manager Aubree Scott, who I really hope is literate enough to read this.
The initial membership terms I signed up for obligated me to a 12 month contract with the gym. I satisfied that by paying my membership fees on time every month for more than a year. Some months ago I moved sufficiently far away from this location that it was no longer convenient, and so I decided to cancel my membership. Apparently I made that decision at exactly the same time that Crunch-Tysons decided to staff this location with assistant general managers who cannot make phone calls nor answer e-mails.
I called the Crunch corporate offices to enquire about how I might affect a cancelation. They were vague in the specifics except to confirm that if I simply stopped paying they'd refer me to collections (let's recall that I had already satisfied the initial terms of my membership contract). Corporate in turn referred me back to the gym I signed up at. As I wasn't very eager to make the hour+ drive to the gym I called them.
The poor lady who answered the phone tried to help but it was her very first week and she simply didn't have the experience or info I needed. I asked for a telephone number for a manager with whom I might have better luck. After several unanswered and unreturned calls I finally, FINALLY got a call back from a number associated with the gym. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting and couldn't take the call. That was the last time anyone from Crunch would ever call me.
In the interim I received an email from Aubree Scott, assistant GM of this location, with a terse note briefly explaining that I needed to submit written notice of my intent to cancel. Attached to that email was a poorly scanned PDF of the cancelation request form. Please note that it is, in fact, a form to *request* cancelation of one's membership. Per that document, I would be submitting a "request for cancellation, not a guarantee". Which means, apparently, that Crunch holds for itself complete discretion as to whether or not their members can cancel their memberships even after the contractual terms have been satisfied.
It's now been three months since I've submitted written notice, via an email to Aubree, of my wish to cancel my membership yet Crunch-Tysons has continued to bill me, accruing charges of more than $115 in that time. As no one from the gym will take five minutes to return my calls, nor have they shown much inclination to respond to e-mails, I expect this will soon become an issue I'll have to address with a collections company.

Save your time and money and AVOID Crunch Tysons. Join a gym that welcomes you and treats you with respect. Much better options available in the area.
Pros:
- Gym is usually empty and clean.
- Group classes are solid and instructors are all friendly.
Cons:
- Management is unresponsive to complaints or concerns.
- With the exception of Lars and Blake who are friendly, most of the trainers seem more concerned about getting their own workout in than anything else.
- Members seem allergic to wiping down equipment or re-racking their weights here.
- If you are ever working out later in the evening within 30 min of closing, be prepared for reminders every 5 minutes that the gym is closing. They will also shut down all TV's 30 min prior to closing and rush you out the door 5 min before actual closing time.
- A business is only as good as its employees, and thats Crunch Tysons biggest issue. One of their membership advisors - Zac Galiani is a real DB who is disrespectful and unprofessional. (He's the scrawny guy who looks like Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad - minus 1 chromosome)
As someone working in a customer service profession, he needs to learn how to be courteous, respectful and how to de-escalate situations. He's the kind of guy who didn't go to college and his daddy pulled some strings to get his loser son a job. Worked at the front desk and then got "promoted" to membership advisor since everyone else moved onto bigger better things. Now he walks around like he owns the gym and is on a major power trip. Has no problem being rude or disrespectful to customers but then gets scared if they confront him on it. Altho, I do see him being creepily nice to female gym members and following them around the gym. Perhaps if I was an attractive single female bringing another female friend as my guest, he would've been more welcoming.
On a side note: I'm assuming Zac gets free use/access of the facilities. He should take advantage of it and hit the weights. Who wants to buy a gym membership from someone who looks like they never set foot in one? As an added bonus, he wouldn't have to call the police every time he gets scared.

I like this gym a lot and most of the staff are really awesome. It's clean and an amazing price. The reason that I give 2 stars is that some of the male trainers there are extremely agressive and are always hitting on me. There is one in particular that is always trying to train me and keeps hitting on me. It's very annoying. I don't want to have to stop coming to this gym because of this trainer, but he makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Love this gym. Clean, modern, well-stocked with machines and free weights, friendly staff members, and rarely busy. I have yet to need to work in sets with other patrons -- there is always a power cage open and the open floor plan never makes you feel like you're on top of anyone.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a convenient gym location in the Tysons Corner area. Two thumbs up.

This place has all kinds of cool new fitness toys AND a land surf class. You can't get a tan (in class), but you can learn to surf, and some other stuff too. Very cool place. They took an old ugly Gold's gym, tore it up and made it cool.
