At Hero Within Master Dietrich's Karate, they believe in the power of martial arts to transform lives.

My daughter joined they karate program, and the growth we have witnessed in her ability to communicate and socialize with her peers has been nothing short of extraordinary. For a child who once required five days a week of behavioral therapy, my daughter has blossomed into a confident and engaged student who now thrives in her school setting.

Recently, my daughter participated in a belt ceremony, a significant milestone in her karate journey. What made this occasion truly special was witnessing my daughter stand before her peers and speak loudly, clearly, and with unwavering confidence as she earned her next stripe. This was a moment of immense pride for her family and for all of us at Hero Within.

My daughter's progress is a testament to her hard work, her dedication, and the supportive and inclusive environment fostered here at the dojo. The instructors are committed to understanding the unique needs of each student, providing personalized guidance that nurtures not only their martial arts skills but also their social and emotional development.

My daughter's story highlights the profound impact that a supportive community and a focused, engaging activity can have on children, especially those with special needs like autism.

If you are looking for a program that goes beyond physical fitness, fostering confidence, discipline, and social skills in a supportive and empowering environment, I encourage you to join Hero Within Master Dietrich's Karate.

Master D is absolutely amazing. I have been involved with martial arts for 20+ years, the bulk of it with Master D. Master D opened my eyes to world of martial arts and was a massive influence in my life when I was in a very rough spot. He is one of the most caring humans I have ever met, and probably one of the best people on the planet. I have been to a number of other schools, both visiting and attending because of their different styles (Jujitsu, Krav Maga, Kungfu, etc.) because of my fascination with martial arts based on what Master D introduced me to. But in the end, I have yet to find a school with a better owner, a better teacher, and better person overall. If you just want to kick and punch bags, you can go anywhere. If you want to change your life or that of your child, talk to Master D.

I’ve been at Dietrich’s since 2014 and it’s a very welcoming community (like a family). Master Dietrich and Ms. Smith genuinely care about their students and are great with both kids and adults (many families take class together). They have a lot of experience working with kids with special needs. I’ve especially enjoyed learning the details and applications (picture how each move affects you and an opponent) of combinations and forms.

Not at all what it is cracked up to be. I would not recommend signing any contracts.

We have just moved to this area my son used to attend martial arts in the other place, he was worried about missing his level but master Dietrich accepted him in the same level and didn't make him disappointed. Now he learns martial art life skills and self discipline in the best way with the best master who has been practicing with Bruce Lee's son and you have the current generation of universal hero. These guys are the best.

Excellent curriculum and world class nurturing from World Champions. Master Dietrich literally grew up in the martial arts, won more titles than we can count, and has surrounded himself with winners who insure the successes of their students. Highly recommended.

The martial arts strategies taught to the children and adults are sound. However, it takes considerably longer to earn a black belt at Dietrich's because the requirements are routinely pushed back so the participant has to work longer to earn a black belt. This type of business is also called a "belt factory". Any martial arts studio offering camps and before/after school programs is considered a "belt factory". Anyone thinking about signing up for a class should also be aware that the only way to get out of a contract at Dietrich's Karate is if you move or die. Dietrich doesn't hold the contract because it is sold to a collections agency. They won't even offer to sell your contract to anyone else. We ended up getting stuck in a 5 year contract. We signed up as a family and during that time our commitments lead us to other pursuits and we could not get out of our contract. So if you do want to sign up for classes make sure you do not sign up for a contract longer than a year at the most. If a one year contract is not available do not sign up or you will regret it. We sure did. I would prefer to give this business no stars.

I have been training at Dietrich's for a while. The training is top notch, and it goes far beyond just "punching and kicking" you might get at a typical dojo. Dietrich's is more about discipline and philosophy that "should" go with learning martial arts, which is reflected in the various Student creeds, that Students need to live by. Dietrich's also is about character and training for leadership, all of which add up to a much more complete experience than learning how to "punch and kick". Is the "punching and kicking" taught? Yes, it is, and taught well, but no until you learn when "not" to use them - which is much more important.
